So it looks like this place has gone through several concepts and now they've settled on pre-built bowls (no more build-your-own). You can choose between bulgogi, chicken, and pork and then choose which toppings you'd like. The bowl was AMAZING. The sauces just hit. My husband got the pork and I got the chicken and we both really enjoyed what are currently reasonably-priced bowls. The cauliflower and corn were so tasty. Plenty of space to sit and right next to the movie theater so this is a great spot to get something to eat right before your film and they are FAST. The strawberry dragonfruit punch was also tasty and just the right amount of sweet. Definitely would come back here.

Food: 5/5 service: 5/5 Wait time: 5/5 Accommodations: 5/5 Decor: 5/5 The food was really good! The worker allowed us to substitute spicy pork for the bulgogi for the fries! I was very appreciative of that. The food came out incredibly quickly and was very affordable! They provided us with 2 really tasty side of the sauce. I accidentally dropped on, but they were very nice about cleaning it up and telling me not to worry about it. They were very nice and funny. It made it feel like a fun place and very welcoming to come back. The place has very simple decorations. This would be a great place to get a bite with friends as there were a lot of seats and tables!

Surprisingly delicious! Was watching a movie at AMC and decided to give this spot a try.. and we were so glad we did! My husband and I wanted to split a Spicy Pork bowl and Bulgogi fries. The worker let us know that there was a cheaper combo with an upgrade that included a drink which ended up saving us money. We love that kind of service!!! And the prices were pretty reasonable too! The food ended up being so good! The meat was the star of the show! Soo flavorful and cooked to perfection. We truly enjoyed both the spicy pork and bulgogi in the fries. My main gripe was that I wish there was more meat. The bulgogi fries were so much better than I expected. The fries were actual perfection - golden brown, great flavor, crunchy all around, and fluffy on the inside. It's been a while since I've had perfect fries like that! The toppings were great, I just wish I had more. I loved all the fixings on the spicy pork bowl too and was surprised at how wholesome and "light" the bowl felt. I enjoyed that! Food was really good! And great value too Overall, give this place a try! It just might surprise you.. like it did for me :)

It's odd, I couldn't really figure out the identity of this restaurant. Poke, Korean fusion, lemonades & refreshers, thai and taro milk tea, it's all over the place. All that made it difficult to choose what to eat, admittedly because all the menu pictures looked delicious. Unfortunately, the dishes we got weren't as appetizing. Umami fold (beef) - bulgogi, rice, corn... that's it. It was just salty, with no interesting texture. After a few bites it became monotonous and ...boring to eat. It didn't quite live up to its description of "marinated beef inside a warm, crispy wrap layered with fragrant steamed rice and a vibrant medley of Asian vegetables." Yuzu sweet chili wings - what a letdown. Tasted like frozen Costco wings tossed in some generic sauce, with some yuzu flavored aioli drizzle. Seoul Street fries - probably the best of the three dishes, but still very underwhelming. The menu picture had a plethora of toppings, and what we got was hardly a scoop of onions, kimchi, meat. Although there was plenty of sauce, which helped. The redeeming factor was the service. Since they were slow, the guy took his time explaining the menu, made suggestions, and answered all of our questions. He even let us sub out items if we wished. Yelp Adventures 2025 - 11 of ??

The District Eatery is a Korean version of Chipotle/CAVA where you can build a bowl and customize items in an assembly line fashion. BYOB ($14) - For my base I went with kale salad and my protein on one visit was beef bulgogi and on a subsequent visit was the spicy beef. I definitely recommend going with the spicy beef, it wasn't too spicy and has a lot of flavor. Topping selection included: cucumber, onions, kimchi, corn, edamame, tomatoes, pineapple, guacamole, or pickled onions. On my 1st visit they let me choose all the toppings and the next time they said only 5 of the toppings. Finally one can top it off with some sauces. I enjoyed the spicy mayo. Overall the food was fresh, filling and tasted pretty good. Pricing is reasonable if one selects the beef option (CAVA charges extra for beef). The chicken pricing is slightly more than what CAVA charges. They do have shrimp and salmon options but those are $3.50 more. One thing they can improve on here is not limit the toppings to 5, but should allow customers to select as many, just like CAVA.

A poke bowl-style rice bowl place nested in a hidden corner next to the AMC theater, The District Eatery hits the mark with its delicious rice bowls with a wide variety of options. They were also running a promotion today so I got a drink included with my meal! Build a bowl (5/5): I built my bowl with bulgogi beef, seasoned rice, a bunch of vegetables, and ponzu sauce + spicy mayo, and it was delicious! Mango lemonade (4/5): Pretty good, but a little sweeter than I would've liked.

Way to expensive for a bowl of "rice". We feel scammed we got 3 small pieces of chicken in this bowl and barely any sides but a whole ton of rice. We also got the bulgogi fries which was just as bad 2/3 fries with minimal sauce and a tiny bit of meat. Would not recommend this place unless you want to pay so much for a bowl of rice. I would have give two stars if it wasn't for the girl at the register. She acted like she hated being there and had a face with no expression. She didn't try to help us with the order or even offer to explain the menu. Please save your money and go somewhere else and don't be tricked by the other reviews on here I fell for it and I'm pretty sure they're fake.

Went here on a whim, didn't know they had opened! The food is delish, and i love that you can take your bowl out to sit in the sun on the promenade. I got spicy grilled chicken with this really good peach sauce. Pineapple, kimchi, green onion, radish, and cucumber. Greens base. Yum! My server, Soon, was fantastic. Let me taste the sauces and was very generous with the portions! Single protein was more than enough for me.

Quick Summary Located next to the AMC theatre, this Korean fast casual restaurant is really tasty using quality ingredients. Easy parking at the District at the most part. Comfortable indoor and outdoor seating like most places at the District Food- 5 stars Tried the Korean Street bowl and it was really tasty. Everything tasted fresh and the tri tip so very juicy and tender (no cheap meat here). Service- 5 stars The owner was fantastic and really helpful with explaining the menu. My only feedback was that the server should've cut the tri tip a bit thinner, but I should've said something prior Bottom Line Really good fast casual Korean spot using fresh and quality ingredients

Double protein and triple protein bowls
    Natalie Y.

When we first walked in, we were both so overwhelmed because there were a lot of options on the menu (when creating your bowl) I ended up getting the triple protein which were the grilled chicken, shrimp, and salmon! I happened to see a piece of salmon in the protein section and didn't see it on the menu so I asked them if I could add it to my bowl. And I was able to for no extra charge! Also i think the owner/chef said he would make fresh chicken and shrimp for me which was so nice of him! For my base, I got the seasoned rice and kale salad (both really tasty)! For the marinade, I asked which was their most popular and they said the honey garlic is very well liked so I got that! And for my toppings, I originally wanted guac but beware! it's extra! so instead, I got corn, kimchi, pickled radish, cucumber, and tomatoes! I also got a gochujang drizzle on top. Overall the meal was yummy! The freshly made protein made it 10x better too! I would come back here again for a quick and healthy meal :) The inside has plenty of seating and some tables and chairs on the outside as well! The meal is pretty convenient to take out around if you want to eat somewhere else. Also their free lemon infused water is so good and refreshing!

Marinated chicken, cucumber, guacamole, mixed greens, corn, edamame, rice, fried onions Simple and tasty :)
    Geradine J.

I love this place! It's like Chipotle, you build your own bowl. You choose your base - rice, mixed greens, or kale salad. Then you pick your meats. - Spicy or non spicy - chicken, pork, beef, or shrimp. Then add your toppings - onions, kimchi, edamame, corn, cucumber, tomatoes, pineapple, guacamole, pickled onions. Next pick your sauce - honey garlic, sweet ponzu, yuzu, spicy umami, spicy mayo, miso, garlic aioli, or pineapple aioli. And top it off with crunchy - fried onion or furikake Some times I just want something simple and tasty like this, meat and added veggies. Dog friendly and the customer service is always great! Will be coming back often!

The food was really tasty, we build our own bowls. We got the spicy bulgogi and regular bulgogi and both were good. The service was great, workers were very friendly and patient in explaining the items. Inside the ambiance was very chill. New spot to try next to AMC.

We work close by and I had noticed that this place recently opened up. We came on a Wednesday afternoon during the middle of the lunch hour. There were maybe one or two customers inside and the dining area outside by the theater was empty except for one other table occupied. Parking is close by as well if you need to quickly access the restaurant without having to walk all over the center. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. Our server, Angel was awesome and very friendly and informative as to the menu and options. My coworker and I inquired if the spicy chicken was indeed spicy, and he offered for us to sample it. Great! The set up here reminded me of a poke bowl process where you choose your base and then proteins and toppings I decided on the build my own bowl I started it off with the seasoned rice as it sounded tasty and the kale salad, which is more unique than the standard spring salad mix. For my protein, I selected the Protein Trio as I wanted to try the different meats, which included chicken, beef, and pork. Next step, I think we're able to choose five toppings. I went with the edamame, guacamole, cucumber, pickled radish, and kimchi. I like that they have various unique sauce options to choose from. I went with the spicy umami, honey garlic, and spicy mayo. I wanted to really like this concept and wanted to come back, but I'm not sure if that'll happen. I like the variety of protein options but what was missing was a smoky charred taste from the meats. I asked how the meats were cooked and they are pan fried. However, the slices of pork were too big, and the fat was not rendered, and it was not pleasant to eat. This reminded me of a boiled texture when it was pan fried. And don't get me wrong. I like boiled meats when it's supposed to be boiled as in soup or bossam. Same for the grilled beef, which was stringy and in large chunks. There is no grilled or fried taste or texture. Not appealing. The chicken cubes also resembled a braised or boiled like texture. If the heat was turned up and maybe cooked in a wok versus a flat pan, that would probably help make it more appealing and tasty. My coworker chose the chicken bulgogi tacos. She only ate the filling which she liked but her tortillas were hard and dry. I think it's hard to execute all these different types of items in one small place. I noticed they had a variety of drinks and Boba to choose from. I'll save that for a Boba shop. We might give this place another try in the future.

I either order The Cut (yes, the $40 burger and fries) or I make my own bleu cheese burger depending on my mood. I'll cut to the chase: is the $40 burger worth it? If you've got $40 to spare and you like burgers, I think it's definitely worth it. I mean, I've had it probably three or four times now, and I'm not some kind of moron who likes setting money on fire (I hope), so it must be good, right? What's unique about it? Basically everything, but obviously the patty of meat is the star of the show, with a unique taste and texture that makes it stand out from a normal ground beef patty, and the cheese is no slouch either. The only negative is that my wife bullies me into ordering it so she can steal a few bites. The regular fries and sweet potato fries are also great. My wife got a steak with her caesar salad one time, and that was delicious too. We usually have the same waiter since we come around the same time/day every time, and he's always great. They also always have a great selection of beers on tap, today they had three different West Coast IPAs and I felt like a kid in a candy store... yum! Normally when writing a review I can come up with some sort of complaint to balance things out, but not really in this case. I mean, I could whine that the burger is $40, but no one is forcing me to buy it (except for my wife). All in all, I think this is one of the best places in Irvine to have a pint of beer and a good meal.
