I originally would have given this place 2 stars, but I'm giving an additional star to Patty, the Clarisonic specialist, because she was super nice and answered all of my questions, and Jaime, the skincare specialist, who was very nice as well. I came here wanting to return some products I bought a few days ago because it made my skin very oily (I'm sure everyone was able to see it from far away; I was literally glowing!!). I also wanted to return some gifts that I didn't want from Christmas. In addition to all of that returning, I also wanted to buy a different product that would not make my skin oily. When I went to the cash register, the girl was originally very nice until I explained to her my situation. Even though I apologized many times, she didn't smile anymore and was kind of rude to me. While she was ringing me up, I asked her what was Philosophy's "time in a bottle" because this product was very popular and it's all over the magazines. She basically said, "Time in a bottle is a bottle with serum in it." Ok...so it has serum in it. Great, I totally understand what it is now, thanks...NOT! lol What kind of answer is that?? Hilarious!! I wanted to laugh out loud. I guess she was so frustrated with my complicated request of returning and buying things that she couldn't answer my question. But then again, lots of customers return, exchange, and buy things. If she didn't know what the product was, she could have just referred me to a different person. I asked a girl about some Shiseido products, and she didn't know the answer to it, so she referred me to Jaime, the skincare specialist. Jaime was awesome and answered all of my questions. It's ok if you don't know the answer to some questions. I won't get mad at you. You can just be honest with me and say you don't know. Sephora sells a million products; I don't expect anyone to know everything about each product. lol When the register girl was done ringing me up, I was about to leave but I decided to look at some Clarisonic products. Then Patty approached me very nicely and asked, "Do you have any questions about Clarisonic? I happen to be a specialist." We chatted for about 10-15 minutes about how to use the Clarisonic products, how to keep it clean, when to change the heads, etc. I can tell Patty was very knowledgeable about the products, just like Jaime was with skincare products. Overall, I will come back because this is the store I go to since it's closer to home. :)) read more

Last Friday night, my car got broken into and being a college student with no munnyz- those damn thieves picked the wrong car to steal from! I was pretty irritated when I found that my on-the-go makeup bag was stolen that had my essentials: mac studio fix pressed powder, mac lip primer, stila liquid liner, marc jacobs gel crayon liner, lancome artliner, dior brow pencil, & my brand new sephora birthday MUFE Lipstick & Mascara duo...:( I went in on Saturday, repurchasing everything first from Nordstroms Mac counter and then at Sephora...i explained my situation & the sweet Sephora employee slipped in a birthday MUFE set for me :) i was so happy bc this year's Sephora Birthday Gift is legit!! & now, i can actually use them. thank you! read more

Bad: The first time I came into this store after it opened there was this one sales person who was really rude. At first I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but the the next time I went in she was just rude. Whenever I go in there I find her most of the time at the register, so now when I go in I try to avoid her. Good: There have been a couple of good sales people I work with. I found that my favorite is a person by the name Monique. She is really sweet and seems to know her stuff. Seriously, not only can you not track a sales assistant down if your life depended on it, when one miraculously appears she/he is not knowledgeable about the products or helpful in any regard. I love Sephora. Especially the website. I usually spend a good deal of time checking out the products online and reading reviews before going to the store, so I have a good idea of what I want ahead of time. Still, on occasion I could use a little help form an expert. Unfortunately the gals that work this store are anything but. I've been to this location several times due to it being half a mile from home. Each time I'm greeted by incredibly rude, unknowledgeable (sorry to say) bimbos. Rather than provide any sort of assistance they spend their time eying you suspiciously, and gossiping. Heaven forbid you should want to make a return. They go out of their way to let you know what an inconvenience you are being. They don't even carry basic brands such as Stilla, and you have to hunt someone down just to view a sample. Anyhow, still love Sephora as a brand, but will either go downtown, or shop the MAC counter in Nordstrom, where they have much better customer service. read more

I'm a total newb when it comes to any kind of make-up besides mascara and eyeliner. I passed by here last week and contrary to what other reviewers said, I felt customer service was pretty good! I forget the lady's name, but I asked her about concealer, and she patiently helped me find the one that matched my skin tone (#355). She also helped me find eyeliner and introduced me to "Orgasm" the NARS blush. I was going to fill out the survey online saying how awesome she was, but I lost my receipt! I guess for next time! I was truly excited that there was now a more accesible sephora! they had a good assortment of products, just as you would find at any other sephora. my only problem with this place was their lack of customer service. there was only a handful of customers, so there was no reason for a lack of service. i tried to approach a salesperson and when we finally made eye contact, she turned the other way. two other salespeople i tried to ask for assistance didn't seem to think i was important enough to interrupt their conversation. only go here if you know what you want. i wouldn't bother coming here for advice or help. read more

While I don't come to this store (or mall for that matter) very often, I thought the service was good. The person who helped me (I'm sorry I can't remember your name) was so nice and helpful. I love going to sephora. I really do. It gets frustrating when you wanted a particular item on a particular shade and you couldnt find the right one. Yesterday, me and my boyfriend were at stonestown amd he knows how much I love make up and he knows how happy i am whenever i go make up shopping especially with him. He was very patient because i spent almost an hour trying to look for an deep orangey lipstick shade and i found out that the too faced ginger bread melted was the closest one for it but they were sold out. I asked one lady if she can help me for a different brand that has the same shade which she did and just showed me this one lipstick from kat von d and just left. (Wasnt even close) I was really frustrated that time because i hate having my man wait for me for so long even if I know he doesnt mind. I went to a lot of different brands but i couldnt really find the right one. My boyfriend even helped me look for the right shade i have been looking for which was cute but anyway, while I was really going back and forth to different brands, this guy that works at sephora looks at us LIKE AS OF WE WERE GONNA STEAL SOMETHING. Especially to my boyfriend. He keeps watching us and I thought he will help me find what im looking for it but NEVER DID. Just watched over us and even tried telling other employees to keep an eye on us because they think we tryna steal something. Like biiiiitch no. So I have to admit i do not wear make up very often but when I do I normally go to Sephora to try stuff on, you can play with all the eyeshadows and different eye liners, lip glosses and lipsticks. They carry a lot of different brands, The staff was very nice and didn't mind my little one playing with the Make Up Forever line as they have very nice pigments. I had to wait for some help on some products but overall I was happy. Funny thing is if you go around 3pm you will catch all the highschool girls putting on layers and layers of make up! read more

I usually love shopping at Sephora but, unfortunately, I hate this Sephora! This is by far the worst Sephora store I've ever encountered. The employees are rude and snotty. Last time I went in, two employees ignored me. I was the only person in line, waiting to pay, and two employees were at the cash register talking to each other. They saw me but didn't offer to help me or to ring me up (is that too much to ask---I AM in line!). After a few minutes, one employee left, leaving the other one alone, forced to do her job. She rang me up and didn't even apologize for making me wait. After I paid, she didn't even give me my purchased item (one eyeliner pencil)! I thought my boyfriend had taken the eyeliner and, when I asked the employee, she shrugged and said "I guess so". I hated her attitude. But then, as I was walking out of the store looking for him (he had left the store only a few seconds before I did), I heard the employee call out to me...with my eyeliner in her hand! She was so distracted that she didn't even give me my item! I wouldn't normally care, but she never apologized and she constantly had a bad attitude. Horrible employees at this Sephora location..if you want better customer service, drop by the one in downtown. Faustin is extremely talented in doing custom makeovers. She took her time, built up coverage, and it lasted all night and looked fantastic. She is really wonderful, gifted, and kind. I would give her 5 stars because she really took the time to understand my skin and my needs. She also has a good understanding of the products. It just took a little longer than I wanted and I would encourage stylists to be more confident and swifter. Great experience at the store, everyone was very nice. I was in a rush so I couldn't get all the product details I needed, but it was one of the cleanest no makeup makeup looks I have ever had. Faustin is great. read more

I like this store alot. I love going here on the weekdays, because you are guaranteed to find what you need, when they fully stock everything. It does suck at every store, it is like impossible to get help until 10-15 minutes after you have already found the item you're looking for. But I do like this store, because once I do get approached for assistance, the sales girls know what they are talking about, and are mor knowledgeble about the products. I love Sephora. But this location has some of the worst customer service. One star positive because sephora carries everything I need. Another star for cashier and greeter for actually acknowledging people's existence. There are times when I ask for recommendations and they just guide me to the spot and rush to leave even when they know I had questions. Trust me, they're not busy at all. When I wanted to ask someone for help with finding a product this one time, it seemed like every staff I tried to approach walked away or pretend they're doing something even though they saw me already. Why would you do that? Are you getting paid to purposely walk around and avoid people? I was left standing in the middle looking lost and awkward. Also note that these staffs make me feel the most uncomfortable when I spotted a few following me around every section and pretending to do something but no one bothered to ask if I needed any help?! I literally witnessed one of them standing next to me pretending to read something off a product but they were actually looking at me/trying to avoid eye contact at the same time. At least say something if you're going to follow me and not help lol. This is a store, you're working and your job is to assist and help. Not make them feel like criminals. Don't assume that everyone that walks in is marked a shoplifter. Is this how you treat your customers?! I'm a VIB rouge and is this one of the perks that we get here??? Ignorance?! Seriously. The workers there did not seem interested to help me and we're talking to me with the "are you done yet" impression in their tones and faces. I love shopping at Sephora, especially when you receive such awesome service. At this location it has been a hit or miss each time lately. Went in today with two friends that wanted to get colored match and received great service from Gerline. We were put down on a list to wait for someone to open up but for some reason it was extremely busy. She explained that she can try to help us briefly due to the wait. This is for Monique! I shop at this Sephora all the time and have had mixed experiences. Some sales associates will look at me and kinda walk away while others stop and ask if I need help. Hardly anyone takes the time to really be friendly or offer me any recommendations. I don't like being hassled (like that feeling you get at Bath and Body Works), but it's nice when associates treat you nicely you know? Monique is the first person at Sephora who's been genuinely nice to me and my friends. She's very personable and friendly and is great at making recommendations as well as comparisons. When you ask her for advice she responds to you the way a close friend would, not all generic like some associates. As for merchandise and selection, lately this store has been pretty decent. I love Sephora! However with this store I've unfortunately had a few incidents where the items I've purchased have been opened and/or used!! Couple of months ago I purchased eye cream and come to find out when I got home and attempted to use it, the pump had already been used! I figured I'll just return it and exchange it for another one. During that visit I exchanged my eye cream and purchased Dr. Jartz facial cream. You would think I'd learn my lesson to check the box after the first incident.. Opened the box and everything looked fine. Sticker was still securely stuck to the cap and the tube so figured it wasn't necessary to uncap it because the sticker seal wasn't broken. Low and behold when I arrived home, removed the sticker and removed the cap from the "ointment" like tube, *dun dun dun* the seal was punctured!!!! Ughh grosss. The person who punctured the hole did an absolutely great job concealing that the seal was broken -_- Both times the associates easily exchanged my items but didn't seem to care much about the item being already used and just apologized without acknowledging that they will damage it out and no resell it. Super frustrating that I have to go out of my way to exchange this one also! With the price you pay for these items you'd hope they are completely new and ready to use. Upsetting to know that purchasing items from a well known company can easily resale damaged and used products. Customer service is great! found one worker by the name of Kristen who was especially helpful with recommendations about sealing in moisture for my sensitive skin. Ladies and Gents. Visited during a VIB Rouge 15% off sale event. I agree with the reviewers who say the service here is terrible - the worst I've ever experienced at a Sephora store (I've visited stores in other cities, states and countries). And perhaps even the worst shopping experience I've ever had. Anywhere. I'll start with the one positive - I called the store earlier in the day and the associates who assisted me over the phone were professional and fast to do a stock check. My item was also available even on the 2nd day of an ongoing sale which I appreciate (another location was sold out the day before). Now with the negatives - I had not just 1 bad experience here, but rather 3, during the same visit. First of all, there were plenty of associates on the floor. But upon walking in, not only did they not ask if I needed assistance, it appeared they were actually avoiding it. I'm the not the most perceptive person in every situation but the effort taken to avoid eye contact and to appear busy was that obvious. Even the makeup remover stations were hiding - when I found one, I had to do a sniff test because there was no label on the clear bottle/clear liquid indicating what it was. Secondly, there were no associates in the skincare section (as I mentioned above, there were definitely associates on the floor but they seemed to scurry off at the sight of customers). I couldn't locate anyone to help me for about 5 minutes so I decided to retrieve my on-hold item at the cashier desk before making my way back to skincare. Upon my return, there was 1 brand rep "guarding" her products (DERMAdoctor). She made me a sample but then felt the need to add, "that should be enough for 1 application". Fine but... has anyone ever experienced an anti-aging solution that made a difference in just 1 application? She also added that the product oxidizes right out of the package so, "it's probably not going to do anything for you". After that, she did ask me if there was anything else I wanted to try from any other brands. When I told her, she replied, "you're just going straight for the good stuff, aren't you... I haven't had the PRIVILEGE or the LUXURY to try that," she added. Wow, someone has a chip on their shoulder. Not to mention when I first approached her, she must've thought I looked too young/didn't intend to purchase high-end skincare because she said, "I'll bet you're not even 30". Extremely unprofessional and just generally rude. From there, I headed to the perfume wall with samples in hand. An associate approached me here and asked if she could help. I've seen a certain perfume mentioned in several beauty blogs recently so I ask if she could make me a sample. She stares at me, "you have 3 samples in your hand". "Yes, I do," I replied, then waited for further explanation. "Your limit is 3," she says and then continues staring in silence. "I guess not?," I reply back. Customer service has reached its awkward and laughable peak at this point. Time to make a dash to the cashier, pay for what I came for and get the heck out of here! Note this last girl mentioned I had 3 samples. This is because I originally approached the 1st lady about trying a specific product that received high ratings on their website to which she credited to being hyped up only by "misinformed, adolescent girls." She went on to say that the active ingredient in this product was a by-product of higher-end, pharmaceutical-grade retinol. When I told her then that I was no longer interested in trying the product she replied, "well, I already made the sample." Not to mention the aforementioned product which she stated oxidizes right out of the packaging, rendering it ineffective. So yes, I got 3 samples... 2 of which were useless?! I've gradually developed my current, personal skincare/makeup routine with the help of product samples Sephora staff has recommended to me in the past. I prefer doing that to buying and having to return full-sized products that don't work for me. I generally only visit a Sephora store during their VIB sales and then I'm always open to updating my current routine with potentially, more effective products. I don't go in there every day taking advantage of the free samples without buying anything. I have no plans to return to this Sephora location in the foreseeable future. If you must, do your product research and check availability before so you can get in/out of here quick. Or go to the Downtown location - where, even in their current, temporary, cramped, mall space, during a sale, customer service is 1st class. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! I dont usually write review but it's upsetting enough this place has made me feel. This is the worst Sephora location I have ever been. The managers and workers have such ATTITUDE toward their customers. I have bought most of my cosmetic products from Sephora for years and spend a decent amount of money every year there, average $100-300 every time I shop there. But this location service made me feel like I'm begging them to sell stuffs for them and had no appreciation on my business at all. I came in the other saturday with my bf to get my usual foundation which they were out of. I asked for recommendation to the similar one. I would really like to give 0 Stars . I feel like this is the worse sephora I have been to thus far. When I walked Workers do not greet at all . Which frustrated the hell out of me. Feel like its very unprofessionable place, no greeters, as soon as you walk in you see the employees are doing makeup on the customers, no eye contact, no hellos to knowledge your presence. Just HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERIOD . the This is the 5time i went there horrible experience every single time. I had to wait in line for an unacceptable amount of time to get some help . I expect a business to have more structure & be more friendly especially if you are ready to cash out. If your going to spend your hard earned money advise not to go to this place. This is the worst place to go & if you have specific needs certain color you going for they don't want to work hard to help you find exactly what you want. Everyone who works here is so rude. Walked in, no one welcomes me even though there was someone standing at the door, just looked me in the eyes. Went over to the Huda Beauty section to get a match, asked a girl to match me and she said she'd be there in a few and didn't show up. I asked 3 other girls and they did the same thing. Like if you're not there to help, why are you working there? Did I not receive any help because I was the only brown girl in that store? because I didn't have make up on like the rest? Aweful service I tried to just get an exchange not a refund keep money in house. I didn't have my receipt so that was an issue of course. Gave them all info to look up my daughter since she bought this cologne for her dad he didn't care for scent. Easy fix I thought. So they track it find it. All I want us exchange. Now the issue is I don't have my ID for credit that I will not take just get something else there. Associate asked me for my passport. Wow amazing....I know my ID# by heart nope not good enough I tell them that I'm a member and that all my info is on their computer they can verify my license to what they have Nope not good enough. 5 people on and no one can over ride that to help a customer. Mind u my daughter is a makeup artist and so is my god daughter and between both of them spend thousands upon thousands. Wait till I share this experience with them and anyone that will listen over a $30-50 cologne. Shame on you. Empower your clerks not to treat every customer like a thief. Common sense. I signed up for a Correct and Conseal Sephora beauty class. Came in 10 minutes earlier as I was supposed to. The store was closed, none of the employees wanted to let me in. Waited till 9:00 AM when the class was supposed to start, no employees came to the door to let me in. I wasted time to come there and the customer services is non-existant. read more
