I like this store because like all Sephora's I like and buy the products they carry. However, the valley fair location is a complete and utter mess. First off, it is always crowded and the layout of the store is not conducive to large amounts of people, as a result I often have dodge teenagers and small children clinging to their parents. In addition, the line control is not very good, it always seems I have to stand in line for at least 10 minutes because they have not opened enough registers to account for the amount of traffic they receive. Overall, I honestly only come here when I need to get something and can't wait to have it shipped. The overall organization and line control makes it to frustrating for me to deal with. read more

I have had many experiences at this Sephora and have yet to have a stellar one, worthy of praise. Each time I have been the line is long and there are more associates milling around the store than at the counter. Overall, the staff is helpful-- though you have to seek out help if so desired. While the beauty rewards points are a nice perk, I know that Nordstrom will give me better and faster service and have the same product I'm looking for. read more

My first experience with Sephora was in July 2014 when I requested a make over and some product suggestions in anticipation for my son's wedding. I have been a BIG fan since then. I consider myself very fortunate to have had Clarissa as my makeup artist. A few weeks before the wedding she took her time to not only "do my make up" but explain why she selected each product for me and show me how to apply it at home, including a written "cheat sheet". On the morning of the wedding day she also did my make up as well as that of my best friend. Since then I had a make over at a different location (Stanford) and didn't have the same "top notch" experience. The make up artist there was late for the appointment and seemed scattered and less informative. The only negative about this store (and many other Sephora stores) is the crowd - it is really bad on the weekend and often even during the week. I think they could staff the stores better or rearrange the store layout so it doesn't feel so crowded. To avoid the crowded stores, I purchase online when possible - and luckily their website is great - but I miss seeing Clarissa and the other great make up artists that way. read more

I like the concept of a beauty store of many name brands. It's fun to look at lots of colors of various brands all at once and pick the one I like best. I also found the salespeople friendly (but not always 'expert'). For example, I was looking for a powder eyebrow kit and a Salesperson showed me several different brands offering this so I selected the one that suited my needs and price range. And for the holidays, they have these 'stocking stuffer' section by price range, making it easy to shop. I also love trying on the many perfume without someone trying to spray me. A saleswoman offered to make some perfume samples for me as I couldn't make up my mind. That was really nice. read more

Wow, customer service really has changed. I got stuck with the unfortunate event of a lost makeup bag while on a trip last month and had to re-buy all of my basics. I decided to switch makeup brands because I wanted to try something new. I feel bad for forgetting the girl's name but she really did help me! Valley Fair was going to close pretty soon so the poor girl was multi-tasking customers. However, I never felt like she was neglecting me and she definitely helped me choose some great products. It's been a month and I really love all the things I got. Go figure that just three months ago, I felt the staff was indifferent towards the customers, now I'm a fan! read more

This is my favorite Sephora location, I am so bummed that my most convenient one is not as good. I'll get my complaints out of the way first; they are often out of stock of things on the weekend-- yes, I understand that the mall gets swamped, but don't you think that they'd be able to plan for this and get more stock ordered each time they place an order? Second, it gets messy when it's crowded on the weekend. I know, I know, they can't control the traffic coming through here, but they could have more staff walking around to restock, straighten up, and pick up trash; messy customers leave tissue and cotton pads anywhere and every where they can. Now for the good. During the week, when the mall isn't so packed, this store is beautiful and pristine. The staff does a good job of walking the floor, and I'm always asked by at least two or three different people if they can help me; I'm often complimented on clothing, jewelry, or makeup, which is a wonderful conversation starter, and I love being made to feel welcome in a store. I usually end up having a short chat at this point with whichever associate has approached me, and they're always thrilled to show me a new product, or help me trouble shoot a beauty issue, no strings attached. I never feel pressured to buy no matter how much time an associate spends with me. I also love that this is a larger location that carries more brands than some of the average sized stores (yay Illamasqua!). If you have your pick of Sephoras in the Bay Area, this is definitely one to head down to. read more

Well it's a Sephora. But I went in there a few days ago and I have to say, it was poorly lit, crowded, and looked really dirty. They downsized from a previously bigger location, but that has made things a lot worse. The perfume selection is officially better at Macy's again as they have taken their perfume section into one tiny corner of the store. This section has such a concentrated smell of perfume in the air due to it's tiny space that you feel like you can taste it. None of the perfumes they are carrying now are any good either. The service is adequate at best, but I am glad they were unresponsive as that may have made for a longer stay in a shop I couldn't wait to step out of. read more

10 minutes ago....I would've liked to give 1 star purely for the checkout but I'm giving another 2 for the lady who helped me find a new eye cream. Story is, I wanted to exchange 2 items for another set of 2 items....but I guess it was so slow and the music was loud that I received 2 separate refunds. I don't understand, I really don't. I already yelled out that it's an exchange for some other items. Instead I get refunded credit back twice for 2 different products I wanted to exchange with. And they said they can't do it since it's already gone through. So I had to pay IN FULL for the items I wanted instead. Ridiculous. Very very disappointed. No Joke-- I went here during Black Friday and I SURVIVED! **Cue Gloria Gaynor** But seriously, this is my FAVORITE Sephora and I live closer to Oakridge Mall... Few reasons why I adore this store: (1) Spacious and Plenty of Selection: at other Sephora stores, I feel slightly claustrophobic. It feels like they try to stuff every nook and cranny with products. It's also awkward that every corner I turn, there's an associate asking me what's up. Sometimes I just want to shop in peace, regardless of their good intentions. I like that VF Sephora is big enough that the associates are spread out enough and ignore me for the most part unless I bug them :) (2) Deals and Steals! Going here Black Friday and returning shortly thereafter, there are always lovely gift sets or coupons that Sephora emails me. I legit bought 10+ gift sets for myself, family, and friends. It was so easy to buy a nice looking skincare or makeup package, so thanks to Sephora! (3) Cool Service: The ladies here don't give me a hard time about returning things or using the coupons. They are so chill! Also super friendly as well, even with the long Black Friday lines, they weren't annoyed to converse with me. I know they're paid to help, but I never felt any bad vibes thus far. (4) Recommendations of my favorite things: + Sephora branded makeup - primer, lipstick, blush/bronzer/eyeshadow palettes are must HAVES! I've bought Urban Decay eyeshadow and MAC blush/bronzer before, and Sephora's brand is comparable. If you want to look great at a reasonable price, try out Sephora's. + Tarte skincare - bought their $16 skincare package that came with a lip scrub, mist, cleanser, etc. LOVE it! Especially cause of their organic sea theme. + Fresh skincare and lip care - Fresh is known for their rose and soy ingredients, and I have the soy cleanser and face mask currently. It works wonder on the skin and immediately you can feel the smoothness and cleanliness. I've tried the Fresh lip balm before and it is like Vaseline on steroids, works wonders! + Too Faced mascara - bought the $10 mascara with the meltoff. Totally worth it and makes your eyes pop. + Makeup For Ever smoky mascara and lip liner - I am the queen of wearing lipstick now because the lip liner is a miracle worker. It keeps my lipstick in place for the WHOLE day! The mascara is also good but crazy memorable. + Stilla smudge pencil eyeliner - excellent for bottom eyeliner + Sephora beauty sponge/BeautyBlender - depending on how you feel about the original BeautyBlender and the various dupes out there, you can definitely buy your sponges AND brushes here. I got the Sephora's version of the BeautyBlender and it works just fine. Once that wears out, I am gonna try the original. I could go on FOREVER, like how they have AWESOME rewards for members who sign up! If you spend $1000+, you become a VIB and get more benefits, etc. Just for being a regular member, every time you spend $$, the system keeps track of your points and you can cash it in for cool products to sample. On your birthday, you also receive bonus items (currently Fresh soy cleanser and rose face mask). Coupons are so handy when it's like $15 off of $50! Additionally if you need a makeover, you can book a 45-minute appointment with a makeup specialist and with a purchase of $50, the makeover is FREE. I was here the day before Mother's Day and was looking for the Lancôme green corrector stick that my mom had wanted but could not find it in this store. A kind gentleman asked me if I needed any help and offered to not only go in the back to look for more stock, but gave me several options for green makeup from other brands. He was able to find one from another brand that my mom now loves! I have a horrible exprience at the store today. I have to say it was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. I went to the mall with my friend to buy some cosmetic stuff. We looked around and tried some make up using their stuff as usual. We tried the nail polish colors and an Asian girl next to me spilled the nail color that I was trying onto my skirt. nail polish got all over my skirt and it was the first time I wore this skirt and I didn't even remove the price tag yet. She immediately said sorry to me several times since she knew it was her mistake. But then when I asked the girl this skirt is brand new and how she is going to do. She changed her face from sorry to attacking mode. She said it wasn't her fault. Now she tried to blame back to me after I mentioned about the skirt. She said I should be holding the polish bottle while I'm trying it. Is there a sign saying you have to hold the bottle? Isn't it dangerous to hold the bottle while you paint youf nails? I think it has more possibilities to spill the bottle if you hold it. Anyway, then the manager came into me and asked me what happened. My English is not my first language but I tried my best to explain what happened eventhough I was astonished. She said to the girl to go and she said it's not her fault. that manager said she is going to claim to the headquater and see what is going to happend. But after 5 minutes when she asked us to come to the corner of the store. She took a photo of my skirt since I started taking photos of myself first. I asked her if she can take a photo of the price tag since I didn't remove it yet just in case. She said she doesn't need it and she said 95 percent is not the store's responsibility. She said sephora might give me some samples or store credit instead!! She said it's the beauty of nature!!? And she compared with this case. "This is like a dog touched something with its tails at the store by accident. " WHAT? First of all, that girl is not a dog that has no intellectual and her finger doesn't move like a tail. It was because she wasn't careful and it's her fault. I don't think she did this on purpose of course. I know it's her mistake but If some stranger spills coffee onto your skirt by accident, who would you blame? Sorry to her but she should be more careful at the public space. If Sephora insists it's not the girl's fault who spilled the nail polish, then sorry Sephora. It's your fault who didn't put any sign saying caution at the nail polish section. It's designed poorly and I think there will be many many accidents like this again in the future. You should design your shelve better to protect nail polish colors from falling down. So my 100 Dollars of skirt is gone with this awful memory. I have some small spot on my tory burch handbag I was wearing but I wouldn't even claim this to them since I know they'll run away from their responsibility. This is the worst experience in my life. The manager was very rude and disrespectful to me. She let the girl who spilled the nail color go saying it wasn't her fault. And then what about me? I'm your customer too. I shouldn't be testing standing anywhere in the shop? Sephora should hire someone who know how to handle situation better with many experience and should know how to respect your costumer in any situation. What's funny is she changed her word again again again. How does she know it's not 95 percent sephora responsibility before she talked to anyone from the headquater? I mentioned about the incident at the Mcdonalds(there was a person who slided on the floor and Mcdonalds was responsible for it ) and like the passenger who got the dirty water from the street by the car passing by. She sais it's not the case. What do they expect me to do? I have no right to test their stuff? I should always try their stuff where there is no one around me or worrying someone is going to spill something to me? I wanted to record what she said to me because there is a laywer who I used to work with and I wanted to ask him for an advice. So I went back and asked her to repeat what she just told me. She said she has nothing to say to me then went into the staff room while I was standing there still talking to her. I know my English isn't good since it's not my first language. I'm not sure if that's why she treated me like this, but I felt insulted and disrespected. YOU SHOULDN't TREAT YOUR CUSTUMER LIKE THIS, SEPHORA. VERY RUDE and HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. if someone spill something on you , they'll say it's not the person's fault who spills it on you and also they're going to insist Sephora has no responsibility to any damage you get. Andrea was very helpful and informative in the skincare department. She did a full facial free of charge! I learned a ton of new tricks to make my product last as well as tips on application so I wouldn't damage my skin. Andrea originally used the Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx peeling Gel on me, but for $48 I wanted something a bit cheaper. She directed me to BOSCIA ($34) then explained the difference between the two products. I ended up going with the BOSCIA to save money only to exchange it three days later for the Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx. The BOSCIA was hard to control and I didn't receive the same results as the Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx. All in all it was a great experience. Had such an annoying experience with a cashier here the other day! I returned 3 lipsticks that I purchased literally the day before, only because I went home and realized I already had those colors. I told the cashier this too and my receipt clearly showed I bought them yesterday. She did a SLOW and unnecessary product check for each one of them , going inside each one of the tubes when they were packaged like new and were 100% full and clean..like do you really think someone would use such a high percentage of all of them in less than 24 hours? I didn't even use a drop. It's one of the most annoying things in the world when people make a simple return a much longer and complicated process. I've had better experiences here and I wonder why these type of employees don't pick up good customer service skills from their coworkers who are right next to them ? P.s It's also annoying when you ask them for a sample of something [for the purpose of trying it out before buying and not having to deal with an annoying return] and they act like they are doing you SUCH a favor by pouring less than 1/2 an ounce of product in a container for you. Also I get it if they have to do product checks as a part of their job but the process could be much nicer without attitude and a stank face. read more

I hadn't been to sephora in ages and am in very much need of a foundation / concealer update. Note the present tense. I walk in there around 6 pm on a Saturday. The place is swarming with sephora employees. I'm standing in front of one area making eye contact with various employees for about 10 plus minutes trying a few things on. No one greets me. No one asks me if I need help ( I clearly need help). Instead they are all talking to each other while eying me occasionally. I even walk over to a console asking about foundation matching and a couple of employees standing right next to me keeping ignoring me as I try to figure out if I can use it myself ( no unless someone already has helped you match colors first). I have never had such bad service at a sephora (including this very one). Not sure what changed but it was a huge disappointment and I walked out of there with zero purchases. read more

What is not to love about Sephora? I always find what I need and when I don't, I can find it on their online store. They carry all the brands that I enjoy, such as: Anastasia, Urban Decay, Benefit, Kat Von D, Makeup Forever, and Nars. Not only is their make-up and skin care items great, but the staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. Shout out to Aracelli because she was awesome when it came to doing my birthday make-up. I told her the look I was going for and she completely nailed it! I'm definitely a fan of the products that she used on me and am always restocking on them. Horrible experience at this location!!!!! My wife was looking for a few foundations and our puppy was getting a little fussy so I told her lets get a few samples you try it and we can comeback tomorrow to purchase them, well that was a mistake at this location! Waled into the store and asked for the first associate to help us and we where told she couldn't we had to wait by the stand until someone else could come and help us, btw my wife had the color codes and shades she wanted and this would tale two seconds!!!!! 10 minutes later the first associate showed up and gave us the sample, we asked if she could helps us with the other one too and to our surprise we where told NO again, same story we had to wait for another associate, so we walked over and waited another 20 minutes and the young lady bounced between 5 other customers that arrived after us, I don't believe it was intensional on her part she was just busy, but when I flagged the store manager down and asked for her help I was told " I can't help you I have to watch the floor and I'm the only one now" i got frustrated and asked for her district managers name and phone number, I was told that she can't provide me with that information that her district manager doesn't allow customers to contact her directly! SERIOUSLY!!!!!! No wonder things are this bad! She took my name and number down, gave us a few samples that she called "valuable " and then offered to get us the samples we wanted to begin with!!!!!! 40 minutes wasted! Her district manager has yet to contact me and when I called today I was told she is now at a conference and cannot be disturbed, on this day and age when on line retailers are taking over I'm shocked people treat customers like this! I walked into Nordstrom and purchased the Colognes and Perfumes we where after and my wife purchased the foundation she was looking for we also bought our daughter a dyson hair dryer today something that was also available at Sephora! Lets see how much longer can you guys afford to drive customers and sales away from your stores!!!!! Incredibly disappointed with this location!!!!!!!!! Oh I hope they are teaching customer service 101 on that conference because when you become too busy yo take care of your customers thats the beginning of the end! I used to like this sephora because they are a big store with lots of options. I went here yesterday to return some stuff. I went to the register and the cashier was Jasmine. She opened the stuff i returned and asked if i used it. i said no, then she said "it looks like you swatched it." I said no, i opened it and it was a lot smaller than i expected, so I want to return. Then she started giving me the attitude, for the second product I wanted to return, i said that I did try that product and It doesn't work for me because It was too strong for my skin. She said i should not buy something and return it, because the returned products will be in the damaged box. Next time just ask for sample instead of buying and return( she said with e very bad attitude). I have been Rouges VIB members for years. I don't usually return anything if I don't really have to. I believe i have the right to return stuff that doesn't work for me. Also, isn't it normal to change credit card?(expired card, lost etc). she asked to see my card, i said oh I don't have that card anymore because it expire and I got new card with same routing number. She seems like not believing in me and she wants to call someone comes to ask. I'm ok for her to check but dont make me look like im too poor to steal someone's card to buy stuff. Anyway, the manager really needs to read all those reviews and talk to the employees. They should treat customers nicely, not treat us who make you money like we begging you to sell stuff for us. read more

Sephora/Westfield Valley Fair has a great selection of cosmetics and hair care products. I use hair care products from France called Phyto. I'm not sure whether it's a relatively new product in the US or not, but it's still pretty hard to find. The only places I have found it are at my hairdresser and Sephora. Since my hairdresser was already closed, I went to Sephora. The downside is that their customer service is horrible. I initially telephoned the store; when I finally got to speak with a live person, after going through their phone tree, I mentioned to the girl who answered the phone, that the options on the phone tree menu were not functioning properly, as I kept getting an "invalid entry" error message. She responded that it must've been my fault and that I sound like I am old enough to know my numbers! If I didn't need my product so badly, I wouldn't have come to this store. While the staff seems somewhat knowledgeable about certain products, they lack an overall familiarity, or even a generalized knowledge, about other products they sell. It's always a sales booster to know your product. The cashier was very rude - she took a customer who was behind me first; the customer tried to explain to her that I was ahead of her, but the cashier ignored her and made me wait. Two stars vs one star??? At least they had the product I was looking for. I will try to avoid going back to this store, unless I am in a bind again. Always match the number of items with the receipt before you leave this store!!! My sister bought some stuff from here during the Thanksgiving holidays. We were charged for 9 items but when we reached home we realized that there were only eight...We called up the store and told them about it - I don't know if I should say that they were kind enough to replace the missing item, OR that this was kind of expected because they don't wrap & bag your purchases infront of you... When we went back to pickup the missing item which they kept on hold for us (because they realized it was their fault), they handed over a goodie bag along as courtesy...The employees should probably just pay more attention next time, good customer service nonetheless!!! read more

I came here a while ago and wanted to share my experience! I got my makeup done and it was great! I arrived late and they were very nice about it! My makeup came out beautiful:) However my friends did not. Her artist wasn't as good and didn't listen to what my friend had to say. Her makeup didn't come out good, and she was uncomfortable when the artists started taking videos of her for her snapchat. My advice, pay the extra for an expert artist or be VERY clear on what you want. read more

I usually buy my makeup from department stores mainly because the MA's really know their products. A girl from Estee Lauder once told me when she was first hired she was given a huge text book to study and was even tested on it. The girl knew her ABC's all the way down to the queen that inspired the line. Anyways, Sephora in general I'm a fan of. I love makeup and Sephora is practically makeup heaven (minus a few brands). My main "beef" with this Sephora is with their sales associates. At department store makeup counters, the MA's are very hands-on. They remove any old makeup you have on, work their magic and ultimately try to sell the heck out of their product. The last time I was at this Sephora, the girl who helped me handed me a brush, an eyeshadow and just stood there. I understand some people may like to do their own makeup, but I was a little offended she didn't want to help. Am I ugly or something? Also, the girl who helped me wasn't too knowledgeable. Anyone can tell me Nars blush is a best seller, but can you break it down if I wanted a tin from Cargo, a cream from Smashbox, or a tint from Tarte? I'm not too mad about that though, after all there's thousands of products and only so much brain capacity. I came in on the Saturday of the VIB 20% off sale so it was insanely packed. I didn't want to waste my time walking around the packed store so I decided to just ask for employee recommendations. My only real complaint is about an employee named Lucy. I asked her for a peel or any exfoliant with alpha hydroxy acids (AHA). She led me to the Peter Thomas Roth products and after rummaging around and looking at ingredients, handed me a beta hydroxy acid wash and 1 moisturizer said that was all they carried. She didn't even seem to know there was a difference between BHA's and AHA's. Both glyolic and lactic acids are AHA's so I knew she was wrong. I went to a male Amore Pacific rep who was immensely helpful in giving me recommendations of both AP and non-AP products. Whoever you are, you're awesome. Maybe that was too technical of a question for her - chemical names are confusing. Fine. Later, I asked another associate for recommendations on oil-based cleansers. Since the store was packed, she passed me off to none other than Lucy. Lucy seemed utterly bewildered by the request: staring at both me and the associate as if we had asked her a physics question. The other associate gave her a few recommendations on brands (Boscia, Amore Pacific, and Kate Somerville) before she was pulled away. When the associate walked away, Lucy literally (really, literally) pointed at the Kate Somerville display, said "this is Kate Somerville", then pointed 2 stands down and said "that's Boscia", turned, and walked away to chat with another associate in the corner. Wooooooooow. Just wow. Am I on some sort of cosmic karma to receive shitty service lately? Apparently this store's customer service went down the toilet once my friend quit working here. I am seriously disappointed with my visit. I spend a ton of money at this store. Hundreds in the past year alone. I don't buy the cheap stuff. Not even a "Hi" after being passed up by several employees. I was trying to find a certain primer and no one helped me. My personal rule is if no one helps me find a product, then screw it. Won't buy it even if I find it. I go to the cash register to buy my foundation. I gave them the card that they give you to receive points for purchases. She scans it and all of the sudden, it felt like I was witnessed committing a murder in front of their eyes. I had *gasp* NEGATIVE points on my card. I get that it's a free program, but how the hell is it that I have spent a ton of money there, have never returned a product and have negative points? Sephora is like a toy store to me. I walk in and there is a plethora of make up and perfumes to play with. I don't usually ask for help unless I absolutely need one. I don't expect the associates there to be absolute experts in every brand of products. I'd imagine they all of different level of expertise. It would be cherry on top if they are and I am ok if they are not. I like them because they do not annoy me and just leave me alone when I politely decline help. I am usually there to play and I may buy something if I find something cool. They do have really good brushes for a decent price and really cute cosmetic knick-knacks for gifts. I have two sisters so it is a good place for me to shop for cute gifts for them. read more

i have heart palpitations and am deathly afraid of stepping into this store when i need to because the sales associates and LEET patrons know i'm a noob upon entering... they can smell my "noob-ness" - i just KNOW it. =( growing up, i never had the "cool" cousins or "hot" mom to teach me the ways of the "woman"... i explored my make-up w/ "trial and error" escapades through cleptomania at my local drug store's wet-'n-wild sections... *bows head in shame* - TO THIS DAY, I STILL USE EYE CRAYONS FROM WALGREENS... [but people seem to think its MAC each time they ask about it, so at least i'm doing something right...] a year or two ago, i figured i would try using some form of foundation, moisturizer, powder - anything - to cover the small blemishes i was cursed with a week before my big trip to vegas. prior to this, i had never been introduced to anything applied to the face properly... i walk in, and decided to scrap up whatever bit of stubborn pride i had in myself to throw out the window. i approached a sales associate and told her i wanted to try a product my friend suggested, and she helped me locate it with GPS-like QUICKNESS...i was so proud of myself for letting go of my inhibitions and seeking out the knowledge i desperately needed... after guiding me to my coveted moisturizer, i stood there, like an idiot - speechless and stupid over what i was supposed to do next. staring at all the different shades of STILA's tinted moisturizers, i wished to the heavens above that THAT product could just have ONE perfect shade compatible for ALL skin colors, but NOTHING. hell, i was willing to sacrafice a goat and do a tribal dance for the perfect - easy shop - moisturizer, but nothing. no goats around anyways... panic started to set in, and that little voice in my head started to repeat, "OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG..." - wtf do i do? or DID I DO...? after 3 minutes of awkward silence passes - the poor sales associate helping me took a gamble when she repeated asking, "is there anything else i can help you with?" i snapped out of my daze to meekly respond in a near whisper, "can you help me find out which one of these is for me...?" "you mean, what shade?" she asked. i felt STUPID. for some odd reason, i grew up with the misconception that beauty secrets and skills were something you acquire with age, and with enough trial and error, you'll figure it out on your own - but i am just one of the few that never learn after the first mistake. instead of asking her which color would match my skin tone, what i REALLY wanted to ask her was, "DO YOU WANNA HAVE A SLEEP OVER W/ ME? ...so we can play with make-up and do all those girlie things, pillow fight and all? you know, in the privacy of my own home, so all these other people won't know i'm completely inept when it comes to make-up? you can be my new BEST-FRIEND!" but i dare NOT ask... for she would probably call mall security on me, accuse me of harboring same sex fantasies [she wasn't THAT hot...] - and probably laugh at me for being so stupid... *sigh* i wish i could just walk in there and tell an associate, " i wanna learn to be pretty, too..." - WITHOUT looking or feeling like a complete and total ass... and not having them apply heaps of crap on my face without teaching me properly how to do it myself. that's probably a problem i'll never get comfortable with, but the associate helped me play with the tints, located which best matched my skin and suggested to me that i buy two different colors and mix them to match my skin more flawlessly - but even that thought scared the holy heck outta' me... for now, i will stick to the bare essentials and whatever is quick and convenient. thanks for the help finding what i needed, but i bet you guys laugh at least once a day at that particular ONE customer that walks into your store CLUELESS... i just wish i wasn't so paranoid my "BEST-FRIEND" sales associate wouldn't gossip behind my back w/ her even prettier male sales associate at the store... =( most importantly, thank you for pretending to be my "best-friend" for the few minutes i was in your store though. i'll accept fake friendship for a sale that will help my happy ass out, and i'll always remember the memories... =) read more

Kind of disappointed. I am not a frequent shopper for makeup, I but what I need and that's really it. I do spend money on the items I do put on my face because I have pretty sensitive skin. I came in to stock up on my bare minerals and get some new eyeshadow. I wanted to try a new product that they had in stock but was not sure which one to go with or what color I needed, I waited for 10 minutes to be helped and then went and asked for it, to which is got the response of "it's over there and we have color matching papers over there too " and shrugged off. I tried again at the register to which I was ignored again... I could only assume it was because I did look a hot mess with a hat on, t shirt and jeans, but hey, it was the weekend and I do what I want. So I walked right out and over to the bare minerals store and spent my money, and got the help I needed. Sorry sephora but I no longer care to keep my VIB card and remain a loyal customer to you. To be fair this is not the first time I've experienced poor customer service here. Probably the third time in a row and I always give them the benefit of the doubt because it's a weekend or something. But this time the store was dead slow..... read more

I hate this Sephora. EVERYTIME my teenager goes in that store she get treated with such disrespect. She went I tonight to return some makeup with a receipt. She originally payed with cash but the lady insisted on giving her merchandise credit. My teen is one not one to speak up. But I am. I took everything to Oakridge location. Found out the card she was given was not merch credit. And verified everything swiped my card & returned what was on the card in cash. I told my daughter she is no longer allowed to shop this location if they are going to treat you like that. Especially when you have money to spend in that store! Today was only my second time in sephora. I went in looking for one item and after Andrea E, helped me I walked away with an amazing facial and found out I have been using the wrong moisturizer and scrub for my skin. I know nothing about skin care or make-up and andrea didn't make me feel like I was stupid or uninformed as I have felt so many other places I have gone. I had a personal one-on-one with Erika the other day, and I don't have enough good things to say about her! She selected great products and gave me a wonderful make-over, while educating me on how each product must be used. I wanted a smoky eye make-up and she suggested champagne tones, which turned out perfect. After the session, she took the time to scan all the products she used on me so I could order them in the future if I want to, and even followed up with a nice note. Overall, I had a great experience at this store, and I'll definitely be going back. read more

I love Sephora! It's like heaven to a make-up/beauty product whore like me! They have a great selection of quality make-up brands and are adding to it all the time! Some of the cosmetic lines make products/gift packs are exclusive to Sephora which is fun! They also have a great line up of skin & body care including: Peter Thomas Roth, Philosophy, Bliss, Murad, Dr. Brandt, Korres, Clinique and many others. You can pick-up haircare products (Ojon, Oscar Blandi, Living Proof, Rene Furterer, Phyto, Frederic Fekkai, etc.) and T3 blow dryers and flat irons. There's a large selection of brushes, tools and cosmetic bags. The perfume selection here is extensive! Men's cologne is offered and a wide variety! Perfume or cologne gift packs are available sometimes more than others, especially at holidays. You can ask for a vial of perfume/cologne if you'd like to try it before committing to the purchase. If you are a Beauty Insider card holder, you can accumulate points and receive free gifts/deluxe samples, a gift for your birthday and e-mail announcements & offers. I find the employees here and at other locations to be a mixed bag. Some are very nice and helpful, some are flat snaky! Especially during slow times, some of them just stand around and can't (Or perhaps don't want to) answer questions or make product recommendations. With all the different lines & merchandise Sephora sells, they really should train specific employees in certain areas so they know about-say for example hair care lines & what they're for. This would ease some of the frustrations of customers & employees alike. Some are more generous with samples than others, I notice they mostly make samples out of testers on the floor rather than give out the factory made foil packets. Which is fine, I like the ability to try certain things out before making the purchase, which in some cases prevents returns. When ordering online @ sephora.com, they have set samples that are factory made and you choose 3. The stock (Or often lack thereof) in the store can be very frustrating! It drives me nuts to want a product and they're sold out or it's not on the shelf and the employees are too lazy to check in the back or look in the drawers below the shelves. Online stock can often be sold out too. And why offer online specials or gifts when they're usually not available?! Again, annoying! They have a better rewards program - Very Important Beauty Insider (VIB), which you can get if you spend $350+ in a calendar year. Basically it differs from the Beauty Insider in that you get a 10% discount welcome offer, access to pre-released products, holiday gift card, exclusive events/monthly perks, % off purchases here & there, etc. So if you shop a lot, it's nice to get some better perks!! Overall, I love Sephora! They have everything I need and it's one stop shopping for all of my beauty needs! My wallet aches every time I come here! read more

I've been a customer at this Sephora for a while now and I go there for most makeup needs including perfumes. The last four times I've been there, the staff just aren't helpful. I continue to give this store the benefit of the doubt however after this last time, it seems to be a reoccurring theme. You ask them a question, they point and say "you can find the concealer in that isle". Unsure how they pick & choose who they will take to the counter and try makeup up on but it's not for everyone who asks. The vibe is unfriendly and unhelpful read more

I went to Sephora this past weekend for the Pantone event they were having. They were giving complimentary make overs with their color of the year stuff. The lady who helped me with my make up was very friendly, funny, and welcoming. She also did not pressure or push me into purchasing the items she tried on me. :). Upon arrival, I was somewhat hesitant in purchasing a foundation for my face. I was reading on a bunch of products, but was still effy on which one to purchase. I kept looking at the Make up forever's matte velvet and smash box's HD foundation. I asked a employee name Audrey( was absolutely amazing!) and oh boy did she answered my questions. I asked her a bunch of questions on what to use on my face and she gave me her input on the product as well. However, the product that she recommended me was not in stock, but that did not stop her from giving me the greatest customer experience I ever had at Sephora. She said I could order this product online, and provided me with the item number and product information! Wow, the past customer service I had had here wouldn't even do that! I am very satisfied with my experience with Sephora and I will be definitely coming back to see Audrey again! read more
