I don't think I've ever met a Sephora I didn't like. This one has a HUGE perfume section. I feel like the makeup suffer b/c it's super packed into the small space and on the weekends, it gets hard to maneuver through the aisles. Samantha is awesome. I came in here looking for a gift. Customer service was great, the guy asked what type of product I was looking for and my price range. He showed me a lot of stuff that would make a great gift. On top of great service, they have great top-of-the-line beauty products. A girls dreamland...haha. -1 star though because this location is always super packed so It can get frustrated trying to maneuver around the store, especially with a stroller. lol read more

Okay this is for my shopping experience yesterday and I must say, service is great! I came on a Monday night as it was the last day for the VIB sale. There were plenty of staff members for the customers. I was looking around trying to swatch products and I felt like I could do my thing but could ask for help when I needed it! Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The manager working at the time (I think she was a manager.. Not the same lady in my previous review) asked if I had been helped and it made me feel like she knew how to run the place! Kudos to her, she's doing an amazing job. Anyways, really great service. I came here with a goal to get a new foundation/powder. I didn't wear ANY makeup so that I could hopefully get the best match. Guess what? I left emptyhanded. No one showed any interest in helping me as I weaved my way through the store. I even had to open a few of the sliding drawers myself when the product I was interested was not stocked on the shelf. I love this place!!! They have a very big selection of make up and the staff here is great. If you need help matching a color or picking out someting new I would go here. They are very nice and friendly. This is the only place I buy my makeup and cleaner. The only down side is that this place can be packed on the weekends. read more

I'm in there for a while and they just walk on by or I'll make eye contact with an employee...no smile nothing. The recommendations from the employees here are a hit/miss. Just depends on the mood. It annoys me when they cut down on the eyeshadow applicators, cotton pads, mascara wands, simply because people are WASTEFUL and don't take full advantage of trying on the products, ........ they are really great about making perfume samples here, usually not a problem. I haven't requested any foundation samples here; usually I prefer the Stanford location, REALLY GREAT SERVICE THERE. Or even Burlingame Ave is also really good. But, for being in valley fair, this Sephora is a win, I suppose. The one thing I can't rationalize purchasing here are their brushes.... SERIOUSLY. read more

I'm writing about Sephora.com I've been ordering from them for years. I love how easy their website is to use, how quickly they are at my door, the ease of returns, they are always packaged beautifully like a gift. I recently placed an order, had 2 faulty products that occasionnally happens with any company. I didn't have my receipt. The customer service rep sent me replacements, and a prepaid postage label to return the 2 faulty ones. She shipped the new ones on faith that I would return the others. I did mail the others yesterday and my replacements will be here today. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! This is the way companies earn my respect and loyalty. I wont be buying my cosmetics anywhere else than with Sephora! I dont have time to write a lot of reviews, only when I'm REALLY happy, ore REALLY unhappy. THis one deserved my time. THANK YOU SEPHORA I also love, when I can get to a store, how friendly and helpful the cs reps are always in ANY location I've been. Ahh my go to place for makeup. Cant express how much I love sephora and moreover this specific location. The ladys and the few gentlemen that work there almost never fail me in customer service and ive been going to this location for 7 years now. Ive only once come across a rude encounter with one of the female staff, but its almost as insignificant as she is to even mention or taint the review. Ive been to Ulta, MAC(super rude), Macys, and Nordstrom and I always find myself making my purchases at Sephora. Sure I can get a lot of the stuff I buy at other stores like the ones I just mentioned but I go to sephora for my beauty products because I like the quality help I get from the staff. I love this sephora! Its basically the only one i go to, they always have most products in stock while other sephoras like oakridge dont! The staff is super friendly and always asks if you need help. It does get crowded on weekends though and you have to wait a little. I went in today to buy a new mask for my face and Tram was super friendly and complemented my outfit and then offered to help me look for what i needed! She was definitely one of the friendliest workers there and really took her time to get to know me. I totally recommend this location!! read more

Customer service at this location is amazing...they all are very friendly and helpful. They don't seem to really mind my hyper one year old getting her hands into everything. I'd give four and a half stars just because they aren't as friendly and helpful on the phone, so I would recommend calling Sephora Customer Service line instead. Customer service is good at this location. The cashier that helped was really nice to get me a sample of a mud mask I saw while I waiting in line. The lady who later on helped me get that sample was very descriptive on what and how I should use the mask. Overall great experience although it was insanely packed! read more

I love my local Sephora at Valley Fair! The people that work there are always SUPER friendly and helpful towards me. Since they know I work at the Disney store they always ask me how work is and try to ring me up and quickly as possible. I love when there is a long line and they help you out on the mobile pay phones. Today I walked in simply wanting to get a nail file to keep in my purse for when I have those stubborn chips and I saw a deal on the nail polish. Needless to say I got that too. As I was waiting in line one of the employees came up to me and asked how I was and if I was heading to work, he saw me in costume and chatted with me for a bit he's always so nice I believe his name is Danny. I didn't catch my cashiers name but she was rocking some Minnie Mouse ears today and she asked me to check my email really quick, I did and was surprised to find I had a 15% off coupon which then I realized why it was so busy in the store! The customer service here is one of the best I've ever experienced at any make-up store. I had 2 questions & before I even had the chance to find someone who worked there, a cute filipino girl (im assuming) was right there ready to assist me. She went above & beyond helping me, even gave me free samples since the products I asked about were new and the reviews weren't out yet. What could have turned out as a confusing, headache giving, make up search, was actually a very pleasant and effortless errand. Also, the girl at the register was funny and had a great personality. I love this Sephora, it's spacey, good amount of help, but they won't ask a million times if you need help. Once this pretty Asian girl with a long pony tail and fuchsia lipstick and she bared with me while I tried to find a new foundation since the UD one had been out for awhile and I was desperate. I have tried a few brands in the past and I am pretty picky. She was awesome, and I always get good customer service here, I just wish it was closer to me! I love love Sephora but not at this location at all due to the costumer service. Ever since I returned some makeup back I have got nothing but rude looks from the workers and never get much help. Shoot if they only knew how much money I spend there! I keep away from this Sephora and love the one at the Stanford mall they are always very nice and making you feel welcomed. Roxy helped me and sent me home with samples of 4 different foundations and a primer. She made sure they all matched my skin even though the floor was super busy and she was the only one working it. I've been going to this Sephora location for years and will continue to go because it's the closest one to my house. The workers I've encountered are usually great. Just had to write a review because I had a negative experience here 2 days ago. I walked in with the intent to buy the Lancome foundation. I already guesstimated what my shade would be based on the online descriptions but I wanted a second opinion. So I asked some caucasian worker to color match me. Right off the bat, she looked annoyed. Most of the time, the workers seem very happy to help me match with a foundation. Secondly, she matched me with the wrong shade. I took a flash photo of the swatch she did on my neck when I got home and iskdnekd. Sis literally wanted me to look like a ghost. I ended up matching myself and she was 29348394 shades off. After she decided what my shade was, she didn't even ask me to look in the mirror to see if i liked the match (most workers do). She didn't even give me a chance to speak and said, "I'm gonna give you a sample of 320." FIRST OF ALL.... I didn't ask for sample. I'm here to PURCHASE this foundation. It honestly seemed like she thought I couldn't afford it because I was young or something. Literally the worst encounter I've ever had with a worker lol. Overall, I am very annoyed. read more

Let me start with 5 stars for Dalina and ONLY her because.... This was my first visit to Sephora. I was told that the makeup and Urban Decay eye primer was a must-have! I bought it an hour ago and I will have to check it out. This I am excited about. The reason for the 1 star? The staff! AWFUL!!!! So unfriendly and NO HELP at all! I asked one of the girls about primers. I had seen a kit by Smashbox online and she told me abruptly they didn't have it and to go buy it online. No discussion? no options? Nothing. She just walked away. Whatever. I walked around that crowded store clearly lost. Another girl asked what I was looking for and when I replied that I was trying to figure that out, she cut me off and said when I figured it out, ask someone. Ummm ok... The only real help I received was from Dalina, the cashier, she answered all my questions and even left the register to show me the Urban Decay stock and told me how wonderful this is supposed to be. Super friendly staff who are always willing to help you find what you need. I have been shopping at this location for years. Admittedly, this mall can get pretty crowded, so I prefer to come in the early morning or later on the weeknights. Going to Valley Fair on a weekend is utter chaos. But even so, the girls will always find the time to help you if you're willing to wait a little bit. There's so much to look it, it's not hard to pass the time. I've gotten some great recommendations from the employees that have become staple products in my make up arsenal. They are all super knowledgeable and usually have a few suggestions to choose from. They're also not really pushy, and you just feel like they genuinely want to make you feel good and help you look your best. All that is wonderful, but the actual reason I am writing this review is because the other day I went in and bought a few things (including the anastasia beverly hills dip brow pomade which if you are not using, you need to get on that. AMAZING). Somehow, when I got home, I had everything except the brush I had purchased. I was pretty upset since I was really looking forward to trying it out. I looked through all my bags and couldn't find it anywhere. I called the store to see if maybe it had fallen off the counter or something, but they were really busy so they took my number down to check and call me back later. Before we hung up, she did give me some tips to apply the product without that brush because she really wanted me to be able to use what I bought. I didn't get a call that day, but I figured it was super busy and they just didn't get a chance. I've worked retail for many years so I know how it can be. I called the next morning, and the girl said she just got in and read the note they had left about me and that if I could come in at my earliest convenience, they would refund my card! She was very sweet and accommodating and I really appreciated it. Everyone who helped me with the situation was. Super happy with how everything turned out, and while I could probably find the brush elsewhere, I'm just going to wait until this Sephora gets it again because I love doing business there. read more

I shouldn't have to ask for samples after I pay. Just not as nice and good of service as the lovely sales associate at the Oakridge location. They were out of the color I needed from Urban Decay in store and online. I think the sales associates here have let the snobbishness of the their valley fair location go to their heads. The Oakridge location is so much more friendly, professional, and not as lazy and condescending as the staff at this location. This place is awesome! every time I need something this is the location I go to because the workers are so nice and educated! They have some really talented artist there too, but my favorite one is Tia. I have mixed feeling about this place. Level of customer service seem to depend on the time of week and day you visit the store. Sometimes when I go the staff would swarm me even though I keep saying I'd prefer to browse alone and would grab them if I needed anything. A few days ago, however, I went in and asked a SA for help with product, she paged someone else over their wireless headset and told me someone will be with me in just a minute... 10 minutes later still no one came. In fact there was nobody around me at all. I was getting frustrated and wounded up walking up to the cashier to ask for someone else. Finally 15 minutes later another SA walked over from skincare section to help me. Thank you Rachel. Stock wise, most popular items seem to run out of stock in this Sephora very fast.
