I have been wanting to go to seraphina in downtown Phoenix but now I'm happy there's a location so much closer to me! It is bigger in here than I had expected, good amount of people but line was short and they got everything out quickly. Everything on their fall seasonal menu looked so delicious, but I got the pumpkin chai iced with almond milk. I also got a roasted everything bagel with cream cheese. The chai was delicious! The coffee here is great and they have an awesome chai that went well with two shots of espresso. The spice level was perfect for me, it's been awhile where Chai actually had some flavor! Also had their Black Tea and coffee chip gelato. Black Tea is good and this flavor gelato had more of an ice cream consistency which is not a bad thing for me. Stopped by this coffee shop on Monday because it was around the corner from the hotel we were staying in. Upon walking in, we were not greeted at all and did not feel welcome. My cousin and I ordered the exact same drink and both tipped the same, however she was overcharged on her drink and an extra tip was added. I was watching the baristas (2 young women) while we waiting for our drinks and as another customer walked in, they looked at each other and make faces and just looked awkward as they were helping us and him. Definitely not quality customer service, and after reading these reviews and the responses that the business provides to other people, they're not very professional. Definitely would not recommend this place if you're looking for a welcoming environment and good customer service. Lovely ambiance, lovely space, lovely people, love that they roast their coffee on site. Now about the espresso...whatever they were pulling that morning was not my favorite I have to admit. I drink my coffee black, usually an americano and that day I ordered it over ice. I couldn't really taste the coffee. I asked them to add en extra shot and they gladly added it without an extra charge. Sadly the coffee became too acidic for my liking and I ended up not drinking most of it. I would however absolutely return to this coffee shop and give them another chance. Maybe the roast they had that morning was not my cup of tea and maybe I can ask if they have something different. A pour over perhaps? Don't skip this place, I'm all about supporting local coffee shops. Local over big chains 100% of the time. Then the girl said "oh I rang the wrong item up, same excuse he had given me the last time I was in here, what a joke this place all of the sudden became in my last two visits, I'm appalled. I had met the owner of this establishment, Daniel, on several occasions, and he seemed like a great person, and usually get good service up until now. I grew up in the neighborhood, moved away years ago, was in town for a quick visit and stopped in for a cold brew. This place is a delight and I'm jealous that we didn't have such a great coffee hang out when I was a teenager. The cold brew was cinnamon-y and delightful. As I added cream, I noticed a VHS tape art piece on the wall. I don't know if this is a deliberate call back to the family video store that was in the same location decades ago, but it brought such a huge smile. read more

Good coffee and a welcome change from chain coffee shops! Their cold brew is my favorite in this area. I have tried a few seasonal flavors and honestly it's tough to tell the difference as the flavoring is so subtle. The staff is nice but I wouldn't go as far as to say friendly; it usually seems like I'm interrupting their conversation and once they take my order they turn away from the counter and jump right back to talking only to each other. Hoping I'd get a decent reply. Maybe an apology. All I have received from them is, maybe I should go to Dutch Bros. I own a service business, with over 700 customers, and never in 27 years, have I treated anyone as Serafina, has treated me. I would not recommend this establishment, because their food is mediocre, at best. The ownership cares nothing about customer service, and all 6 of us that use to go there, will not be returning, and we'll tell everyone about the bad service. One redeeming quality of this place, is that the young people, working behind the counter, are very friendly. If you like stale, overpriced desserts, this is the place for you to come to. It's the neighbourhood coffee shop you want in all the neighbourhoods. We get our beans from these guys - they roast almost everyday, and it's such a treat to watch. You can tell the beans are so fresh. I bring them home to grind in our espresso machine, and I can't recommend any other bean as much as I do Serafina's. Drinks wise, we got the pistachio rose to share, and it was delightful. Nutty, floral, and so so smooth. I'm definitely checking out their fall drinks next. Seating: There's a lot of seating inside for small groups, and a new patio outside as well. I definitely got some "Friends" vibes from the couch and brick wall. The millennial in me is very happy. There are a couple seats that have plugs close to them, but would definitely recommend coming with a full battery if you can. I love how airy and open it feels in here with the huge windows letting in the light. Maybe it was just the breeze in the air, or maybe it was the warmth of the coffee shop, but this visit wrapped me up in a lovely autumn hug. read more

We wanted to try a different coffee shop today and stumbled upon Serafina. Walking in is instantly welcoming. There's great seating and all kinds of handmade goods from different artists. We purchased two reusable iced coffee cups. The menu is vast. My wife went with and iced honey lavender oat milk latte and I went with a cold brew with a slight shot of cinnamon syrup. The coffee is phenomenal. It's got a slight hint of cinnamon itself, very low acid and overall crazy tasty! Wish they were in Tucson, it'd be our new "spot."
