Honestly didn't expect much from the place but found it to be very comforting and comfortable and tasty but not fancy although the outdoor patio seem to suggest otherwise. Came here with a large party(12) so it presents multiple challenges for servers but those didn't seem to matter much, the food was plentiful, coffee wonderful and food was done to perfection although I can't say it was fancy. I don't know about you but I find it weird and unprofessional that every time we go to Sergio's for dinner, my waiter has to sit and eat his dinner. I can't ask for water refill because he is not available. The other day I had to ask someone for him and they told me he was eating. He later shows up and told me himself that he was having his dinner. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Shouldn't they take their own breaks and not be working so his dinner doesn't conflict with customers dinner? Poor service. read more

Sergio's restaurant is a nice little restaurant located in little Havana. I ordered the Lechon Asado for lunch with side of rice/beans and sweet plantains. I had a guava mojito for drink. The meal was delicious. Slow braided pulled pork topped with onions and pork skin. The meat was juicy and tender. The rice/beans and plantains were savory, just the perfect sides. The mojito was strong - they don't skip on the alcohol. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. read more

After a little bit of confusion on the front desk, we got sit down about 3 o'clock. Unfortunately I asked to a waitress that was passing by to order some appetizers, but responds that she cannot take the order for an appetizer for the table because I had to wait for my waiter. That should be arriving soon , after about 20 minutes we got Juan C, and he took our order after we let him know that we have two different set of menus.(?) We ordered a Cuban sample appetizer, a lot of Mariquitas, and chicharrones 90 % of fats, the tamal was good, my paper thin palomilla was over cook, two very greasy tostones, cold and dry Moros, salad was nice, but a very small order of Masitas de puerco, only 3 tiny pieces. Juan was missing in action most of the time, never bring bread to the table, but when the bill came already with automatic 20% service charge, he tried to scam me asking for extra tip for himself because the 20% was to be split among the servers (?) Don't let the mediocre reviews fool you, Sergio's is gold! I love their vaca frita, arroz imperial, trio, and their lechón asado which includes crispy pork skin (um...YUM! Gimme more of that). I found their lunch specials to be reasonably priced for the portions and the food always has great flavor. Service has been good the times I've visited, and I've found the ambiance to be family-friendly. A restaurant you can visit on your lunch break with your colleagues or one where you reunite with fam for Sunday dinner. My favorite lately has been how Sergio's has incorporated healthier entrees and sides into their menu. 'Cause you know we like our pork but don't want to look like one . Never mind that I foolishly went back to Sergios to order a steak sandwich to once again find a steak that taste it like a piece of cardboard with onions ....no seasoning. But I've been there and wrote about it and foolish enough to go back. My bad. My gripe is, I order a large chicken soup and the young lady over the phone asked if I'd like the large or the jumbo so I ask her what's the difference and she says the jumbo is twice as large as as the large so in words Sergios jumbo is every other restaurants definition of large. They charge me $5.99 for what appears to be a cup of noodles and some chicken soup for flavoring. So over it. This is nobody's definition of large. read more

What a disaster..... we were three for early lunch but water only for two, The waitress forgot .. when the food arrived we asked the man who brought The tray, asked for lemon slices for the chicken breast, he said the Restaurant did not have any. This place never disappoints! I love Cuban food and this place is pretty good. I recommend the "coral way" Sergio', it's my favourite spot . It's a bit noisy but it's fit for me. Weekends are pretty busy especially for breakfast, but it's worth it. My perfect match for breakfast are their ham croquetas with a colada coffee. You can't get wrong with this duo! Pricey for the quality you get, not impressed at all with this place. Service was decent reason for the 3 stars. Managements needs to taste the food and keep an eye for quality and consistency until they get this place back on track. Based on previous reviews management must be aware of the problem but I can tell you from my experience that the bad reviews haven't done anything as my experience was consistent with less than favorable reviews left. I ignored the reviews because a local told me this place had good food but I have to say so far this has been the worst restaurant I ve been to in Miami considering that it is not cheap. Rest Looks nice, they also have a robot that brings the food but owners need to do away with the facade and concentrate on delivering good food. I paid $30 for a churrasco that was over cooked and bitter because grill is not clean properly before grilling meat. These are Basic things that a restaurant that is charging $30 for a steak shouldn't miss. Wife had Cuban seafood rice that was also tasteless. Mind you we come from California because food here in Florida is better but I felt like I was back in Cali at one of the mediocre Cuban restaurants we have back at home. Used to love this place. Sadly for the past few years the experience, service and quality has gone down the tubes. Despite the design updates, it's been a terrible experience the last 5 times I've visited. Besides the skyrocketing prices, shrinking portions, subpar ingredients, rude and inattentive servers (appears to be a revolving door of staff with each visit, have heard on more than one occasion "es mi primer dia"), there have also been major errors on the bill, staff arguments and just a bad vibe all around. Unfortunately after having come here for most of my life, it's just gotten to the point where my family and I will not be returning. Not sure if it's a change of management, a change of ownership or if they've just given up, but Sergio's isn't what it used to be and I don't see them bouncing back any time soon. read more

I ordered a medianoche and 4 croquetas at the window. It took almost 20 minutes, which would've been ok if it was amazing but it wasn't. The sandwich was poorly made and soggy. It didn't have much meat in it either. I didn't even get crunchy fries with it. The croquetas were ok, but no lime. Next time I will go to PALACIOS DE JUGOS where their sandwiches are massive and they give you the fries. Never again at this Sergio's! read more

Consistency is key, but oh how rare it actually is. At Sergio's Restaurant, regardless of which one you go to, the food has always been spot on. It is in the little details that there are flaws - the atmosphere, the parking, the service - those sort of things. This particular location is on Coral Way, meaning it is rather close to Miracle Mile, and consequently, Coral Gables. Given the area, it is surprising that their parking lot even exists, because yes, my dears, they have their own private parking lot. It is ample and spacious and you shouldn't have a problem finding a space. Note that the parking lot lies to you though. When my boyfriend and I went this past Sunday for dinner, there were plenty of spaces, so we assumed there would not be many customers. Boy were we wrong. The truth of the matter is that this restaurant was booming with business and it only got worse the longer we stayed there. It seems this location is a prime spot for take-out orders because the counter was full of them. I mean, it makes sense really; I work nearby and I, too, many a time have ordered take-out from this restaurant. Still, if it had only been take-out. Customers were coming in and out in hoards. The place was crowded, extremely so, and while at first it was easy to get a waitress to come to you, it later was a hassle even with their modern technology where you can press a button to call one over. We pressed the button thrice, meaning three times, and still nothing! We ended up having to get a waitress that wasn't our own to bring us a box for leftovers, as well as our bill. Funny thing is they have no problem taking forever to bring us a box for leftovers, yet the bill seemed to come as if it were brought by Speedy Gonzalez himself. In other words, they take forever bringing you your food, actually attending you, but when it's time to pay, by all means, pay and get the heck out. The service here is not personable. You are but a number to them. I have gone to other Sergio's and have not felt this way. I will continue going to this Sergio's, however, given that it is close to my house and to my job, as well as the fact that when they do attend you, they are really nice. Not to mention that the food is amazing. I had my tried and true breaded chicken, rice and beans, plus fried plantains, while my boyfriend had lechón asado, or roasted pork, with moro rice and a Caesar salad. Admittedly my plate was a winner, but when I tried my boyfriend's roasted pork, well I wish I had ordered that instead. Still, you cannot go wrong with whatever you order. Again, my issue with this place was the lack of care I experienced. Fortunately it was minimal and given the amount of people, I will let this slide and give four stars, but seriously Sergio's, get your service as consistent as your food and I will up this rating. read more

TLDR: Great Cuban food in a casual setting. ____ I've been here multiple times throughout the years and I have never been disappointed. I always seem to start with croquetas. These aren't the best you'll ever have, but they are super solid. The vaca frita is my go to dish. Shredded beef, pan fried and seasoned with traditional cuban seasonings. Mouth is watering writing this. I usually get it with white rice, black beans and maduros. It's a large dish, so be hungry or ready to pack up the leftovers. I'm also a fan of the media noche. My favorite kind of sandwich and this one is solid. Sweet bread. Ham. Pork. Pickles. Mustard. Swiss Cheese. They butter the bread and put it in a sandwich press to gently toast the top and melt the cheese. It's not flattened, just perfectly crisped on the outside and ooey gooey on the inside. Last recommendation is a batido de mamey. This creamy milkshake uses a unique fruit that apparently many people haven't tried. I grew up on this stuff, so it's always a nice nostalgic treat. Sergio's on a late Monday night. I guess things have changed a lot at this location in the last 7 years making improvements to the place. In my opinion the property is way underused from a planning development perspective but that's another different matter. I want to focus on a related matter that applies to this chain but to so many other local family owned restaurants. The bathrooms are still the same small, unventilated, unkept, no soap, no paper towels and worse no working air dryer. This is the third time in a month I stop at two different locations and the same pattern occurs. Why is this such a common problem locally? Total disregard for the customers, unacceptable, and I wished that things would change for the better. But you may ask why I keep returning to this place? Well, on a positive note, I need to admit that the Cuban sandwiches are still one of the best prepared and delicious sandwiches in Miami. Take for example the midnight sandwich I just devoured, the chef at the press station deserves a raise, made to perfection. In Sergio's Restaurant of Coral Way the service is wrong. We had a very bad experience with a Server Yordenkis P. It has no customer service aptitud and if we change something like the sides is rude and brings everything like we are not paying. Also we order churrasco and the price is not in the menu: the size was 6oz and at the end they charge $30 for each churrasco. I do not recommend this restaturant. read more

Solid Cuban food were there is plenty of competition. Service was good for the party we had as we were 7 deep. The drinks that the crew ordered were plentiful if you are a fan of mojitos. It's probably fair to say that a large $27 mojito is good enough for 2 people. The bread they bring out while you wait for your dinner was also good. After being conflicted between multiple dishes I went ahead and ordered the Vaca Frita instead of the Lechon Asado. I had white rice and black beans with it and was absolutely sold on the sides when they came out. One of the best combinations I have had in some time. The steak was tender and had major flavor as well complimented by the onions and garlic sauce. The plate also came with a few little plantains to sign off on the Cuban culture. Food was so good I overate and was not hungry for breakfast the following day. I didn't eat again until the following evening, would definitely return for the food. The food is good, but you sure have to put up with a lot of BS for it. I have had a good (zero complaints) experience there when eating on their patio. However, since I live nearby, and as I said the food is good, I end up ordering pick-up or delivery from there often. Therein lies the 3-star review. Delivery is whatever; it all takes a long time. However, a couple of times I've order a desert, they don't have it, so they substitute with out asking, usually a desert a don't eat, but just paid for...great.... Then there is the pick-up window; what fresh hell is this?! Lovely ladies I'm sure but so careless when it comes to customer service. They will have a full on conversation about random shit while you're there waiting in line. Like you came to see them, AND you can wait for them to be ready. Without saying, there is always a line. Call and order for pick up? Somehow worse. Before the ladies at the window would hand you your food. Now you have to hit a video door bell, so a kid who must have been more stoned than I was for sure can come to the same window to look for my food. Him: "What's your name?" Me:"Jose" Him: "Josvany?" We've been here many times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is very varied, and I've never been dissatisfied. Today, I went for breakfast with my son and I had the plantain omelet. It was delicious! My son had a sampler that had eggs, bacon and pancakes. He really enjoyed it. I also had the guava mimosa and it was really good! Without breaking the bank, we ordered a sampler appetizer and 3 entrees between just two of us so we could sample the menu. This was our first real taste at authentic Cuban food aside from the guys at our fire station dinners lol. Everything was really good. We however did try to order the tray with 4 types of meat and our waitress told us it was only allowed on the weekends but then we noticed the table next to us ordered and received that meal, so that was disappointing. I've been coming to Sergio's on Coral Way for over a year. I always order at the window, sometimes to go, sometimes to eat in. The ladies are always welcoming. They greet me with big smiles and I love the familiarity of walking up to the window and they already knowing how I want my coffee.
