I have been going to Sergio's since I was a little girl, but there is nothing like the original Sergio's on coral way and 32 ave. All the other Sergio's are inferior in comparison. We came here to breakfast right after a massage. We ordered El Gordo and egg white omelet breakfast combo. The omelet was a very decent size and was great. It came with a cafe con leche and tostada. What I love about their cafe con leche is that you put the amount of coffee and sugar to your taste. El gordo, according to my boyfriend hit the spot and was very hearty. It came with eggs and bacon and sausage. The only thing I would changed is the type of bread they use. They don't use the typical Cuban bread, but a french bread made the same way. When you toast it, it doesn't flatten out as much and is harder to dunk in the cafe con leche ( if you're one of those people who love dipping toasts in the coffee). I love that they have the La Flaca menu for people who want a lower calorie option. The service was quick and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the "cool" Miami cold weather from the weekend cold front. I will always keep coming back to Sergio's! read more

My sister and I had a late lunch yesterday, April 1st. There was a special of mariquitas and a pitcher of sangria for happy hour. Absolutely delicious! Our waitress was friendly and efficient. I had the palomillo, ensalada rusa and tostones trio (shrimp, shredded pork and beef). All of it well seasoned and flavorful. The sangria was full of fresh fruit and refreshing. Terrible experience here today. Ordered food for pick up and Sergios decided to deliver it. My husband went to pick our food and was treated very poorly by the employees there. Delivery driver could not find our house so by the time my husband arrived home, the driver was here delivering the food. Needless to say Sergios just lost a customer. read more

I have eaten at Sergio's in West Kendall (London Square) twice. Once on Tuesday October 29th, once on Tuesday November 5th. October 29th: My first time at Sergio's. I ordered 2 ham croquettes, 2 codfish croquettes, pan con bistec, and a flan. They ran out of bacalao croquettes so I could not have one, and the ham croquettes were average at best (not sure why they are considered to be so good). The pan con bistec was exactly that, a piece of bread with steak on it. It was not bad, but it was not good either. The flan was mediocre. Overall the food experience was alright, nothing worth going out of the way for but not terrible either. The service: TERRIBLE. Sergio's is a victim of it's own success. In West Kendall there are no other decent restaurants in this plaza, so I am forced to go here for lunch. It is always packed, and as a result the waitresses and staff are never around. I saw my waitress for a grand total of 1 minute for the whole experience. I only had one napkin and could not ask for another because she was no where to be found (I am sure she had many tables). The water is brought to you in these big water containers, and eventually when I went up to go to the bathroom (to wash my hands since I had no napkins), they took my water container because they thought I was done, and I had no water. Only before I left did they bring a new one (for the next person). Horrible experience. November 5th: I was hungry and there is nothing else around here, so I decided to try again. I ordered frituras de malanga, chicharones de pollo (Tuesday special) with french fries and white rice. The place was packed once again so the service was slow. The waitress took my order and eventually brought me my food. The fried chicken was mediocre, but the french fries and white rice were great. I made the mistake of eating in their outdoor seating and the whole time you are there birds try to steal your food and bread. A bird literally flew onto my table and stole my bread, so the whole time I was eating I had to guard against birds that were circling around the table. Later while I was eating a bird pooped on the table. At this point the food was not that great, the service was terrible, and the eating area was full of starving birds, so I wanted my check. Trying to get the check and pay was difficult because my waitress was so busy/the place was so full. So this whole time I am sitting on a table with bird poop, waiting for my check, she finally comes around. I ask for the check and actually follow her to go pay inside since I want to leave so bad, and it still takes about 5 minutes to pay and leave. I left a 20% tip regardless. Summary: The food is passable but nothing special, the service is TERRIBLE. Sergio's in West Kendall (London Square) is a victim of its own success, they have so many customers that they do not provide good customer service to anyone. Literally both times I went I only saw my waitress for a combined grand total of 3 minutes. The food is overpriced for mediocre Cuban food, any other small latin cafeteria can provide food of this quality for 1/2 the price. read more

This place is a sorry excuse of a Cuban Restaurant. If the Manager would spend more time on Top of his responsibilities instead of eating in the Kitchen maybe this place could be better. My family and I decided to come here because it's 5 minutes away and it was my mother's bday. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated and when our table was finally ready we were seated. The waitress Claudia was attentive. We ordered our food and I ordered a Cobb salad with steak. I had just started eating my salad when I took a bite and I felt something hard in my mouth. I slowly took it out carefully from my mouth when I saw it was a bread tie wrap. It was disgusting and I immediately called the waitress. She apologized and little did I know she called the manager. A man by the name of Jose Luis who is often standing with an ear piece came over and asked what happed with a calm face. He was not concerned or moved by what Had just happened when I told him and Infact he was hypocrite with his apology and we immediately told him this was bad customer service. He was really rude to us and specially to my sister in law. Her husband told him to have more respect for her as she was a woman and customers were always right and he immediately answered -No the customer is Not always right. I can't believe he had the nerve. What if I had swallowed that and choked, especially since I have short breath from a bad cold. The store manager was apologetic and gave us the food on the house. I couldn't make myself to order anything else from the menu as he had offered anything on the house because my appetite went away for ruining my mother's bday luncheon, humiliations with that manager and the food just didn't look good to me anymore. For the record we asked him for a check after all of this because we don't go around freeloading and using these kinds of scams, but he rejected any money. We tipped the waitress good since she was attentive and she took it upon herself to call the manager. I'm never stepping one foot in that restaurant again. read more

Came here with my family on vacation. I'm not sure of it's authenticity if there is a location in a local Wal-Mart. Either way it was nice. I've never had Cuban food before so it was a great first time experience/exposure. I am born and raised in Miami, so I am very aware of Sergio's and what it use to be, if you wanted Cuban food, it was "one of the spots" well... that ship has sailed! The waitress we had tonight around 10:00pm was the rudest I have ever encountered. Sucks that I missed her name, she was an older woman, with black hair and I'm guessing Cuban by her talk. The rudest and most condescending waitress! Since the moment we walked in she looked annoyed didn't even greet us just asked how many and kept walking. Then left the menus on the table , with our luck came back again , so we figured out we were stuck with her. She never said hello just wanted to sale us some Sangria/mariquitas deal they had. Since we were not interested, she became mute after that. We repeatedly asked, when she took our order, to please make sure the onions on both dishes were cooked completely. She comes with one of the orders with raw onions and just leaves without asking if anything else is needed. She goes to stand outside the whole time , that when we noticed the onions , I had to ask another waitress to please help us get cooked ones. Our waitress did not come once to our table to see if we needed anything else. Then came at the end to pick up the plates without even saying "excuse me or was everything good?" My husband had to ask her for the bill and she brings it. Once again just sets it on table , not a word or a thank you, As if we were some animals there. After a long day at work, I wasnt in the mood to tell her she needed some manners, but we made sure she felt it on her tip and left management a note on receipt. The food didnt even make up for the rude individual we dealt with. My husband's pork chunks were disgusting, pale in color and swimming in what taste like undercooked bottled naranja agria or mojo. The moro rice was so crispy/burnt and plantains black on the outside, raw inside. The prices are ridiculous for the quality. Well I hope management reads the note and trains their employees to have better customer service skills and over all manners for the next customer. Needless to say I will never eat at Sergio's again. It's not what that name use to be now it's just crappy food with even crappier service. read more

Sergio's is your typical Cuban restaurant. Serving all of your Cuban favorites, from pan con bistec to arroz congriz with any meat of your choice. You can't forget the croquetas and variety of empanadas to choose from. Till this day Sergio's continues to be my go to place for any of my Cuban cuisine favorites. You will love this place and their fancy decor. I've decided to give Sergio's 4 out of 5 stars and not a complete 5 stars because of their service. Unfortunately, their servers are not always great and at times your experience will feel unpleasant because of one not so good server. But do not judge this place based on that, instead like I have done, go and enjoy their amazing food that will have you craving for more. read more
