Just ordered from Sergio's chickpea fracases (garbanzo frito) and it was the smallest plastic container with double the white rice. I paid $12 and if it would have been delicious I would not have cared but it had a weird odor, no little pieces of ham or chorizo and it taste odd. It all went into the trash can. the whole thing away. Very disappointing. My family and I have been eating at the Sergio's franchise since 1996 and I can honestly say I'm done. read more

My wife and I went to Sergio's in London Square for lunch. Momentous mistake. This is the worse service we have ever had at a restaurant. Correction - "Service" is a misnomer here as they have NO service. Waitresses running around hugging each other and providing NO service. We sat at a table for over 10 minutes and were never approached to inquire about anything. This will be the last time we visit that establishment. The manager was no help and to make matters worse she had to be found since she was not in the immediate vicinity. No wonder... To many this is a staple of Cuban cuisine in Miami. 5 stars from food, ambiance and service! Came during breakfast time and got here early enough that our wait time wasn't too long for party of 7! As we sat down, people started coming in. Cute vibe inside and out! The cafecito with milk was served separately but our cups was a full cup of milk and then gave us coffee to pour into ours which I am not used to, normally would be the other way around but I was pleasantly surprised!!! They also had bread with butter on both sides which went very well with the coffee and then plantain chips with garlic mojo sauce and when I tell you this was just a garlic explosion in my mouth, believe me! I'll be buying mojo from now on! I had the south beach omelette, friends and husband got steak and eggs, steak sandwiches, eggs and pancakes for breakfast! All was really great! I will never step food in this Sergio's again. We sat near the kitchen and noticed that every single server put cheese in the crema de malanga soup with their bare hands. None of them used the spoon in the container to serve nor gloves. Absolutely disgusting. I do have a video as proof. If every server grabbed cheese with their bare hands that means it is a norm at the restaurant and the manager is aware of it. Someone recommended this place and I was excited to have authentic Cuban food! If real Cuban food means coffee with cream and sugar already in it, overcooked eggs and pancakes that were tough and flat, they sure nailed it. Absolutely horrendous food with even worse service. Saw my waitress once when she took my order and then once when she brought the check. I'm also not into having R2D2 serve me. Waitresses, get with it and serve the food personally. Ok it was family dinner time, so we have family visiting from VA and despite the weather sucking we are determined to show them a good time and eat some great food. This is our second time eating here first time for dinner. Service was good and attentive, our server was always checking on us or nearby if we needed something. We started off with a few drinks, monitors and a pina colada. I would say light rum was used, tasty but not overpowering, my honest opinion not strong enough. But I guess it depends on one's tolerance. Cuban bread was brought to our table and every dived in, I mean really who can turn that down. We ordered our main entrees. MOJO shredded chicken some got tostones, or garlic mash potatoes, roasted veggies. A Iban sandwich was ordered with fries, platoons with guacamole and refried beans. And one other entree I can't remember the name but I did take a picture lol. We got our food pretty fast and started eating, so I was able to take some pics halfway through lol. Overall the food was great. We got some tres leches to go, i was told it was delicious. And another family member ordered some urban coffee to go, they never had it before, quick note she is Panamanian lol. We declined to have any but she decides to take a shot and it was almost 10pm at that point. And the next morning she said she didn't got to sleep till about 3am lol. This place use to be delicious and the serving sizes were larger. Now it lacks flavor and the customer service is horrible. Especially if you don't speak Spanish. I use to visit this location at least once a week. Then the pandemic happened and I stop. The other day I decided to order delivery via Uber eats and I was so disappointed. The food wasn't even edible, you could tell the rice was old and the steak was so small. I thought maybe it was an off day so I tried delivery again and the same thing the food had no flavor and the serving size was a joke. This local restaurant is near our home. We eat here about every other month. It was a nice warm day and we decided to eat outside. The outside area is a nice choice when the weather is warm and not too hot. By the way, you can bring your fur baby when eating outside. Today's visit I decided to try the chicken vaca frita tacos as my meal. This was a wonderful choice. The portions size is absolutely perfect. All the ingredient come in small bowls so you can put your taco together. The best twist is having small pieces of maduros and black bean spread to include in your taco. I can say this will be my new favorite option when we come again. To accompany our meal, I had a glass of white sangria. It was served with a mint leaf and a strawberry. It was actually quite nice. Good Cuban food and great service! Eaten here a few times already and it's just a nice place to get your Cuban fix. We walked in around 11:30am on a Thursday morning and they were able to seat us immediately, party of 4 (2 adults and 2 babies). Servers were phenomenal! Once we were seated at our table, they were offering us the high chair for our toddler (opted for the booster seat since we had a booth). We also tried sticking the infant carrier in the booth and it was awkward since the distance from the seat and the table were close but neither did the baby or ourselves cared. Haha! They have a children's menu which doubles as a coloring page, provided with 2 crayons to keep the little ones busy. Our server was Luana (sp?) and she was very attentive with us. She gave us a good amount of time to peruse their breakfast & lunch menus. So on their menu, you can choose a variety of things but for the ones who are more health conscious you have La Flaca (The Skinny Girl) options. I also appreciate their cafecito descriptions for those unfamiliar with Cuban coffee, such as cafe con leche, colada, cortadito...just to name a few. We ultimately ordered the kids breakfast for my toddler (3 pancakes, eggs, protein-$3.99), Sergio's country breakfast (eggs with bacon, Cuban toast and coffee-$6.49) while my husband ordered the chicken sandwich with a side of fries (fries were considered an addition). Overall we had a great dining experience and it's nice to have something to visit that is classically a Miami thing. read more

Update, still the same. Gave them another chance at delivery and they suck. Today's option was chicken "vaca frita" style, with moros. Check the picture. I moved everything to one side so you can actually see how much food you're getting, they like to lay it down and spread it so it looks like more.....I order the same thing from Rinconcito and 2 people can eat WITH leftovers. Sergio's is a rip off. I'm done with Sergio's, other than swinging by for cafecito and croquetas? They've lost my business. Dine-In is "ok", but delivery?? Always sucks. We don't have any other delivery options here for Cuban food so we order from here a lot, and it's taken a while for me to review because I keep giving them chances but damn, it's always dissappointing. Aside from raping you with the prices, they have slowly but surely started serving less and less food with their orders. My Sandwich Cubano Especial (supposed to be the larger one) is the saddest one I've had yet and I've had a lot!! This particular Sergio's is in one of the newest and most expensive shopping centers in West Kendall....and it's clearly showing.
