Been a Sergio's customer on-and-off for a long time now. Walked in to order some breakfast take-out and have a mimosa at the bar while I waited. When placing my order Yaneilys recognized me as the guy that always orders empanadas de carne "pero frita". Guilty as charged, horneada's are good but fried is the way to go. If you haven't done so already, give them a try. The guava-berry mimosa was extra awesome, Yaneilys' went out of her way to ask me if I wanted it on the sweeter or bitter side. Sweeter, obviously. Came here for lunch with my husband. The waitress name was "Maizel" and she was incredibly friendly. We ordered some croquettas jamon to start off and they were fresh and delicious. We then ordered our lunch which came out SO FAST - I highly recommend coming here for a quick lunch if you're ever in a hurry. I ordered the palomilla steak with arroz congris and my husband ordered the Lechon. Everything was delicious but the congris was very dry, beans were barely cooked. We finished our lunch with some cortaditos and we were on our way. The customer service was very attentive and we liked the little "button" system they had, you can call the server over, and ask for the check with the press of a button. Woah! I've come here many times and have always enjoyed the Tabla Espanola but this was entirely different! I order my usual meal and in comes a robot waiter. YOU HEARD ME RIGHT!!!! A ROBOT WAITER!!! It's a small device with wheels, several trays for food and a green light. When it delivers your food to the table asks you to take your food from the trays and then it leaves. BY ITS SELF!!! I was NOT Expecting this. Apparently they adopted this system about 2 months ago and I believe it's GENIUS. Amazing for social distancing and not wanting a waiter to have to come to your table. Yamile who works in the bar always greets customers with an smile even during the busy hours of Sunday Monday . Yamile has very good knowledge of the menu, she is very attentive towards customer, making suggestions about foods and drinks and recommending the desserts. She is always asking if you need anything. I love a well prepared cortadito and the coconut flan. I recently had a craving for ropa vieja and carne empanadas. Unfortunately I arrived to the restaurant after 5pm and they had all sold out for the day. I went inside the restaurant and I spoke with an employee by the name of Irma and I asked her if she had any empanadas de carne and she said no. I requested to speak to a manager and the manager came out and said that if I wanted for next time to call ahead and place an order by phone. He said they would make a fresh batch if I ordered them ahead of time. I was really craving my empanadas and Irma conceived me to stick around and wait for a fresh batch to be made. She suggested I window shopping at the Ross store next door while I wait for my empanadas to me made. I didn't end up window shopping and I ended up buying things I didn't need at Ross next door...great sales tactic! Overall, It was totally worth the 30 minute wait. The empanadas were amazingly delicious and freshly made. The empanadas from Sergio's are so much more delicious and scrumptious compared to Sergio's competitor La Carreta. Just as great as other Sergio's locations. The cortadito are just as good and the empanadas are also great. I really recommend the ropa vieja empanada, the meat is really good and the empanada is not dry at all. The spinach and vaca frita empanadas are also really good. While the food was good, I was a little dissatisfied with the service. I was waiting for a while to ask someone to change my drink as their homemade sweet tea isn't my favorite. Then, I felt my meal looked skimp and realized they forgot to bring the fries that accompanied my burger. This place is incredible. I'm completely addicted and been having breakfast here for the past 3 days. I have the "cafe con leche" with toast and the "tabla española" see my attached pics. I wake up craving this great food!! This business has been around for decades. Wait staff is very courteous and very well organized. The tables have call buttons for check, service or manager. They serve delicious Cuban food in an inviting ambiance with warm colours, cultural paintings on the walls, and soft lighting throughout. The menu offers many delicious choices to select. We ordered the Mariquita Chips to share. Light and crisp fried plantains that were so delicious!! They came with a garlic sauce and a cream sauce. Drizzle with some fresh squeezed lime juice, and WOW! For my entrée, I had the Pan con Bistec. It is made with Thin-sliced grilled steak, Swiss cheese, grilled onions, tomatoes and shoestring potatoes served on delicious Cuban bread. The steak was so tender and very tasty. The bread, ooohhh I can eat it all day!!! Looks like French Bread but the taste is way more flavorful. Sergio's is a Florida based chain restaurant, but don't let that fool you. The quality and deliciousness of their food is above par. It gets busy here so be prepared for a wait. Sergio's is a local's favorite, and it is reasonably priced and has friendly service. It's ok. Food is fine. Service is ok. Can definitely be better. We arrived after the real lunch rush and were seated promptly. All staff appear to wear ear pieces and act all 007ish. A bottle of water along with two glasses was promptly placed at our table. I like that. I drink a lot of water and it's nice to not have to wait for a refill. Our server seemed rushed and not very attentive. She took our order and we didn't see her again until we asked for the check. Which is when I was able to mention that we never received our fries. Went there this morning stopped at the window for cafe and a curtadito . We do this every weekend but this time we asked for a cup with water and were told they couldn't give us a cup. We were told to use the cones by the thermos. Explained it was not sanitary first off and that I wanted to take the cup with, couldn't do that with a paper cone. The staff explained manger didn't allow them to give out disposable cups for water, very strange since I'd done it before. They explained that is was a new rule. We asked for the manger who thought repeating the mangers rules would be better customer service than just letting me have a cup of water. It's the principle of it all, how much could you possibly save aa a business owner not allowing a cup of water versus bad customer service. I guess losing a regular makes more sense to the manger to make a point. The cafe is so much better at La Careta and the water cups flow freely! Placed an order for this place with Uber Eats, when almost time fir delivery like 3 hours after, I go in to check status of delivery and it said it was cancelled. I don't know if it was the restaurants fault or Uber, but can not get through either one. Before I begin my updated review... This is NOT about the food, this is about one individual that I spoke to today which she provided me excellent customer service. Last week, I placed an order on Monday that was beyond disgusting. I had a hair on a piece of chicken in their famous "homemade grandmas chicken soup". I immediately called demanding a refund. The lady I spoke to Irma, rudely told me that she was going to have the money placed back into my account since I made the order through my Visa. She didn't even ask me for my card number (I had the order split and paid for when the delivery man came by) so she did not even know which card to return the number to. I called again, and the way that she spoke to me felt like she was talking to a child that was too stupid to think. Today, I called advising that I had YET to receive my refund from the soup after being advised I was going to get it within three business days. I spoke to a lady (I am probably spelling this wrong) Jesline (I also hope I understood her name correctly) Anyways, she was so kind and attentive. She told me that she was going to have the money delivered to me and that she was sorry about the inconvenience. She sent a driver to delivery the money and in less than 30 minutes he arrived, and they also gave me a gift card. Which, I am guessing is to try their food again. Will I try it again, I am not completely sure. If I do... I will go ahead and keep you guys updated. read more

The go-to location for Cecilia and I, we specifically request for Felix to be our server whenever he's available. The restaurant is well managed and offers plenty of healthy options on the La Flaca portion of the menu. I personally enjoy the new brunch menu and highly recommend their Lagunitas on draft. I ordered take out tonight and have nothing but good things to say! I ordered the Mojo chicken with white rice and beans, maduros, a chicken croqueta and a chorizo coqueta. My order was fresh, hot, well packaged and absolutely delicious. The portion of chicken was huge and prepared to be crispy and flavorful with sautéed onions on top. The black beans were some of the best black beans I've had in Florida and my croquetas were perfectly crispy and not the slightest bit greasy. Very happy with the service (to-go window) and the food!
