Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Made a reservation and sat outside on the patio, which is partially shaded. Service was great and our server gave us very helpful recommendations on drinks and food. We were very pleased with everything. The pasta was amazing and fresh. To brunch, or not to brunch... is NEVER the question! The answer is always: BRUNCH! My girlfriends and I met up this weekend to go to Sette Osteria and celebrate the ringing in of 2013 with style (and mimosas!) We were sat at 12:30 as they have 1.5 hour timed seatings, and settled in. Our waitress greeted us with a smile and a never-ending line-up of mimosas. I'm pretty sure I never saw the bottom of my glass during the entire meal! Overall, the service was superb! The waitstaff all worked as a team to seat us, take our order, fill our glasses, and bring out the food. This definitely earned them a 5-star rating. I ended up ordering the crab cake eggs benedict and it was to die for! The egg was cooked just right, perched atop huge lumps of crab meat in the non-deep fried crab cake, on top of a lightly toasted english muffin. Also served with breakfast potatoes - yum! I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and will be back! The only odd thing, however, was that they were playing the "Wiggles" on TV for a while. Thank goodness NFL playoffs came on at 1pm, so they changed it quickly :) read more

I dined at this restaurant based on my friend's recommendation with my sister visiting from California. To say this restaurant is nothing short of perfection is to not give it proper justice. We both fell in love with the restaurant and I will visit again when am back in town. The ambiance is very casual and cozy, but packed with a lot of interesting people--including diplomats. We ordered the branzino and the NY Strip steak--both were perfection. The Branzino comes whole (I would not have ordered if I read the menu correctly) and does have some bones. The dessert was tiramisu and it was freshly made-delicious! For drinks we had sangria which was not typical--less sugary and mostly red wine--I would skip this next time. The value and quality of the food is stupendous. Benito was our server and he was delightful and attentive. I can't wait to return. It was absolutely magnificent. I highly recommend it. read more

I have been coming here for more than10 years as I live on the same block. Sette DuPont is such a comfortable , well run neighborhood restaurant - it kept us going through the worst of Covid! I Maura and all her staff are like family Food and drinks are great and very reasonably priced for this area. They accommodate big groups very well too! Loved the food the pizza was so delicious and the blood orange was great for this weather. Our server was really nice and attentive. Spoke spanish which help a lot since my father speaks spanish. We went to Sette Osteria for Thanksgiving dinner and had a truly delicious turkey dinner...way too much to eat. Three wonderful courses. Friendly, welcoming staff. This may be the most disappointing review I've ever had to make. I went to DC to celebrate my birthday and a brunch reservation at Sette Osteria because based on the menu and other reviews, it seemed to be the best place to host myself and friends who traveled from NY, Philly, Baltimore, and Miami just for my birthday. However, I was thoroughly disappointed with the service, or lack thereof. We arrived around 2pm with a group of 8 on Saturday. Once seated, we began getting settled and checking out the menu. After about 5 minutes, I realized that no one had come over to introduce themselves as our waiter or take drink orders, it's bottomless so I was at least expecting a mimosas to start. But we continued to browse and didn't stress it. But then I realize 10 minutes have past and still nothing. Almost 15 minutes later we were finally able to flag someone down to find out who our waiter was. I understand if things are busy but typically someone will come and greet the table and say they will be with us in a second. Finally our waitress makes her way to our table and without saying hello or introducing herself, the very first thing she says is "You want separate checks, right? I was so shocked and taken aback that this would be how she greeted my table, to even assume that we wanted separate checks. No hello, no name, but that. Is that how she greets all tables or was it because we were a group of young black and Latina women that she assumed we wanted separate checks? I just expected a warmer, more appropriate greeting knowing that we had been waiting for so long without any contact. What really saddens me is that another friends wrote a review about her experience and the manager chose to allude that the restaurant "wasn't the right fit" as opposed to addressing the flaws that happened during our service. Is this not a great fit for ppl who expect decent customer service or not a great fit for a group who looks like me ? Manager also pointed out that we received 3 free desserts , when in fact 2 friends checked in on yelp and asked to redeem the free tiramisu offer and they brought out a chocolate tart to sing happy birthday to me. If you don't want to give the yelp offer, simply take it down. But don't guilt trip avid yelp users for using the app and asking about the offer. Honestly the food was the saving grace that even warrants 1 star. I had a crab cake sandwich that was super delicious. My friends had steak and eggs and different omelets and loved it. Unfortunately the service had already ruined it for us. I will sadly never give this restaurant my money again, and I hope you don't as well. read more

I had a very enjoyable Easter brunch at Sette! We found them through a recommendation from a friend, and we are glad for the recommendation! We reserved a table through Open Table which was convenient. They're bottomless mimosa/bellini deal was incredible and definitely made the brunch worth it. It was a good price for plenty of drinks. The brunch food was really good as well! Nothing incredible, not the best food I've ever had, but really good quality for the price. We also were able to get a Tiramisu dessert for free because we checked in on Yelp, which was a nice treat! The Tiramisu was underwhelming but still a nice finish to a good brunch. It was kind of a chilly morning, so they gave everyone blankets if you were sitting outside! This was really nice, however they're heat lamps were "out of gas" so it was still a little colder than ideal. I appreciated the blankets since the lamps weren't working. If I'm back in this area I will probably come back! Hoping to try a different meal besides brunch. read more

Came here for brunch on a Sunday morning with 2 friends; were the first in the restaurant. Got seated inside and immediately, but that was just about the start and end to the service we received. The food was decent (brunch burger with home fries, egg white omelette, and the Americano), but that's the only positive thing I have to say. It took me 3 times asking numerous waitstaff to have my coffee refilled. Our waiter brought us extra bacon that we didn't order. I had to ask another 3 times for ketchup, and by the time it came the potatoes and burger were cold. Just awful awful service and the whenever we asked our waiter a question about the menu he said he didn't know. At an establishment like this I expect the lead waitstaff to be familiar with the menu. Unfortunate because there is potential, but I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

I came here for their bottomless brunch on a Sunday. It looks like it's usually a nice Italian restaurant, but they have a pretty diverse and extensive brunch menu. I was really pleased by the different options. The drinks were basic bellinis or mimosas for bottomless, and they keep it filled constantly. My friends mostly got the burgers which they loved. I had the eggs Benedict which was decent, and I split a calzone with a friend (we were hungry as you can tell). The calzone was delicious! It wasn't particularly crowded inside on a Sunday morning, so the service was quick. They allowed us to sit and talk for 2-3 hrs as well which was nice. Definitely recommend this brunch spot! read more

If you are looking for a full two hours of bottomless brunch, this isn't the place. While the waiters were quick to fill our drinks, they seated us 45 min after our reservation cutting into our "two hours" of bottomless brunch. It ended up being just over an hour of drinks, which in DC is not worth the price. There was a large menu of both the brunch and lunch options, which was good for everyone. Certainly a prime location off Dupont Circle, but whats the point when the kitchen is woefully sophomoric at its productions and the service leaves you sort of indifferent?? For an "Italian" billed spot the pizza is desultory. The margarita is outmoded, over-cheesed, and sloppily presented. Woeful crust. How about four sad leaves of basil to insult you for stopping by? This stuff went out of style back in 1999. They haven't upped their game here. The pear vodka drink didn't even hint at a decent liqueur to make it more sophisticated. It was...flat. The desert? Not really much finesse, even an apple crumble should hold it together when done in a restaurant...I mean it looked like something that I could pull off in a pinch. Sub par. First of all, the homemade pastas were fantastic! Very chewy consistency and rich sauce. But the prices were pretty high for the amount they gave you. I wasn't too impressed with the interior layout. The seats were too close together so it gave a really crowded feel even though the restaurant itself wasn't that crowded. The air conditioning wasn't quite cold enough and there was this huge fly buzzing around us. Our server was friendly but a little too intrusive for our liking. I also didn't like the fact that happy hour deals were only for the bar. We couldn't get the happy hour drinks at our table. They really should have specified that on their sign outside. Overall the food was pretty good but pricey. Would have gotten 4 stars but I had to dock a star for the aforementioned reasons that detracted from our dining experience. read more

One of my buddies (who had been here before) ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich *and* pancakes...we all thought that he had ordered too much food, but at the end, he was the only one who was full. I came here with the girls for a fun brunch and fun we had! Sette Osteria was participating in Restaurant Week but I wanted brunch (which was not part of their RW menu). Two of the ladies decided to order from the RW menu. Food: I was torn--I saw three things that I wanted to get (Sette Brunch Tart, Italian Toast and Uovo Cotto) and I needed help deciding. Our server, Sladana suggested the Uovo Cotto. She said that many people order that dish and seem quite pleased. The Uovo Cotto comes with baked eggs, feta cheese, tomato sauce, bacon (of course) and wheat bread. My meal was so good. It was nice and saucy and there was a creaminess about it because the egg yolk was still soft. I do wish it was a little bigger and they only gave a slice of bread cut diagonal. I needed more bread to sop up that saucy goodness. I asked for more but Sladana gave us another bread basket because she said that they would charge extra for the toast. I still had room so I decided to indulge and get dessert and before I could even really look at the dessert menu, Sladana suggested Tiramisu. Well, I listened and got the Tiramisu. It was delicious. The service was good, no complaints there and the food was tasty--everyone enjoyed their meal. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday (especially since it turned into a monsoon). There is absolutely nothing remarkable or even memorable about this place. I came here for brunch with friends and we weren't wowed. I ordered a penne with arribbiata sauce. The portion was on the smaller side, and it barely had any heat to it. I had to add quite a lot of red pepper flakes to change the flavor profile to my liking (which makes me think their red pepper flakes are old and have lost their potency!). This certainly was not a dish I was happy to pay $16 for. If you're in a pinch and cannot find another place to eat in all of Dupont Circle, Sette will do, but please do not go out of your way for it. read more

I came here with the 6 year old I babysit for a late lunch one day because he LOVES this place so I was really excited as well. I don't know if it was because I had a kid or we weren't dressed nicely enough, I was in jeans and a plaid shirt, but we were given the absolute worst seating area. So I just got up with my little friend and moved. That really caught the servers off guard. We were given water and the classic italian bread with olive oil. They brought us extra plates but both our plates were dirty and had old food stains on them (gross!) that they brought us new ones. We ordered the arugula salad and the classic margherita pizza to split. We asked for the cheese on the side for the salad and they were more than happy to do that for us. The food was good but nothing that would make me want to come back for more. I went to use the bathroom and all the servers were having a meeting near the bathroom area, all huddled up in front and I couldn't see the bathroom signs. I asked them for directions to the bathroom and this one guy rolled his eyes and pointed to the door. I understand it's DuPont DC, heck I live in the bougiest part of DC, but the staff really need to work on their attitude towards customers. read more
