I had a Groupon, called more than 1 months before the expiration date, and they could not get me in before the expiration. So now I'm stuck between giving them more of my money in order to use the Groupon versus just wasting the money I spent on the Groupon. I even told them I was planning on doing other large areas at the same time that I would be paying full price for, but apparently they're so busy they don't need my business. Just be forewarned if you are trying to use a Groupon. Maybe it's a good business plan, but it's morally questionable to sell more Groupons then you can get customers in for. According to Groupon: "as long as you make your appointment with the merchant before your voucher expires, you can book for any available date--even if the appointment is after your voucher's expiration." So they may be in violation of the Groupon policy. Update: I spoke with 2 different people. I pointed out the statement on the Groupon page. They said a manager would call me but never did. Then some random person who did not have the common courtesy to sign their emails emailed me but still would accept my Groupon. If they train their staff to follow the "Groupon fine print" it seems they do a bad job of training because everyone I spoke with was adamant that they could not accept my Groupon because they could not schedule me before the expiration date. Thankfully, Groupon agreed to give me my money back because after all that I wouldn't trust them anywhere near me with a laser. read more

This review is mainly about corporate. This location is lovely, helpful and professional. Yet, as a company they are so difficult. I understand charging to cancel, yet they even charge you to reschedule. They even told me I was given one cancellation pass before so I would not get another one, even though I was only rescheduling, and when I did cancel before, I was COVID + (pretty much out of my control). Called today to modify my appointment from full section laser to a touch up and they said they would have to charge me to move my appointment because a touch up takes longer than a full treatment and my appointment did not have the time for that. How? Also, every time I've gone, I am always seen at least 5 minutes after my appointment time. So it's fine for their tardiness yet I cannot reschedule when something happens out of my control or I want to modify my appointment when I literally don't have enough hair to laser...So, mostly great service, but they are not very accommodating at all. I found it very easy and straightforward to book my first appointment as well as the other 6 in advance. I used Groupon, which by the way was my first time ever buying a Groupon and the Hermosa location really took care of me. So 5/5 there. Also once my Groupon is over, and if I want to continue getting laser treatments the prices for areas are very reasonable and inexpensive compared to other laser centers! As far as the laser goes, I was shocked that the pain level was so minuscule! I use to wax at the European Wax Center and waxing by far is more painful than laser. The toughest part of laser in my opinion is getting a good shave. So if u get a good clean shave, than the most uncomfortable part of the process is the smell of burnt hair lol. I have been to SEV Laser previously and had multiple laser treatments. Today I went in for the same service I had done previously and they would not provide the service to me because I had been in the sun (with sunscreen on mind you) prior to my treatment. I had previously been in the sun prior to my other treatments with no problems and had laser treatments with no complications. It was very minor sun exposure, which is almost impossible to not be exposed to the sun living in southern California. Also previously, I paid for two laser treatments for the face and they told me that the service doesn't work on blonde hair and they should have never sold me the treatment. This was after I had paid for and done 2 treatments already. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. read more

I've been coming to this Sev laser Location for the past 4 months. I started with just my underarms and happy trail. Now I get the full Brazilian, legs and upper lip done as well. I absolutely LOVE this place. The staff has all (minus 1 lady who sometimes has an attitude answering the phone) been amazing. 98% of the reason I continue coming here (besides my great results) is because of the laser specialist/nurse ANGELINE! She has made every single experience a positive one. She educates me on how I should take care of my skin and she keeps the laser at a comfortable setting that still allows me to get results. This was my first time with SEV. I was in and out as scheduled. The only thing I didn't like was that they didnt allow customers to use the restrooms I guess because of covid? I usually like to use the restroom before I am seen to wipe down there and make sure I am clean before my bikini removal. I also had a panty liner on (was not on my period) and there was no way of me disposing it before being seen. I had to take it off with the nurse there which was uncomfortable. My first experience with laser hair removal was back in 2010 and boy was it painful. Made an appointment with SEV and was very amazed at the customer service! I was briefed and cleared through FaceTime with a nurse (mandatory before 1st appt) after submitting paperwork online. The spot is a little hard to find at first, but it is locates in the corner and the top of the stairs. (Their sign is on their glass door) inside you will find a beautiful aesthetic, making you feel bougie af but frugal af $ Their equipment is hi-tech! The nurse will test patch you each time before beginning the treatment to assess the laser level. As the laser Zaps your hair follicles, there is air being blown at the area simultaneously-- which allows for a nearly pain free experience! After my first session, my hair growth was expedited, and after my first shave (a week after) there was barely any hair growth! My underarms got lighter in color and there was only like 3 hairs growing lol. During my 2nd sesh, I didn't feel a bit of pain (the nurse had to up the laser intensity). I really tried to stay positive about this place I did 15 sessions of laser for my full face went religiously every 4-6 weeks and did the same for my bikini. And it's all growing back like I never got laser done. Such a waste of money. I thought the whole point is that the laser burns the follicle off so you won't see growth anymore! I found out about Sev through IG & I've always been interested in getting laser done, but was skeptical. Thought it was gna hurt, be expensive, etc. To my surprise, it didn't hurt (if you can handle waxing, you can def handle laser) & it is affordable! OK this place is amazing. I've never gotten any sort of laser hair removal so I was super nervous but I did Brazilian & Underarm and basically felt nothing. Like would rather do that for 10 hours than ever get a wax again. And it only took 20 minutes start to finish to do both areas! The pain is kind of similar to like a little tiny zap, people say like a rubber band snapping but it's more like if it were a miniature rubber band and only hit you for 1/2 a second? if that makes any sense? My girl, Kamasha, was amazing, super professional and made it so not awkward even though I was spread eagle on the table. Only minor complaint I have is the phone service, it takes forever to talk to someone since it's for all their locations and sometimes it would even just kick me off the line saying the voicemail "timed out" or something. BUT I selected the call back option so then someone from this actual location texted me and texting is WAY better, they respond within minutes. read more

SEV has a wonderful staff and it has always been a great experience during my appointments. Unfortunately, they're so popular that they never have any availability. I'm never able to get the time I need booked and since they have a fee for missing an appointment, I can't just book on a day I think I might be able to make due to the possibility of not being able to go. I bought a great Groupon package but unfortunately I'm moving to a different state and even within the 4 months of having the package, I was only able to get 2 sessions in due to their lack of availability. So in the end, the Groupon package was definitely not worth the two sessions I had. I also didn't see great results, probably because I was only able to go twice. Maybe if I went the full 6 sessions it'd be different. Major advice: book all 6 of your appointments in advance. If you know you're schedule, get in the books immediately. read more

The nurses/estheticians who actually did my laser were always extremely friendly albeit rushed and didn't ever ask about my results so far, the settings being used, etc. It was truly an in and out in 5 minute situation and if you weren't seeing results or there was an issue with your settings you really need to advocate for yourself because they will not ask you about it. Once I spoke up after 2-3 sessions and said we needed to talk about the settings being used because I had seen no difference, they were able to make some changes and I noticed a big difference. The women who work at the front desk are a different issue - they are extremely rude, interested, and absolutely do not seem to care about how your experience was or want to help you in any way. I had multiple times where I would walk up to the desk and they would just continue chatting and then look at me finally not saying anything. It was always a very unpleasant environment - one I suffered through rather than looking forward to treating myself with. I started going to LaserAway next door which is more expensive but a drastically better experience - everyone took their time, explained what we were doing, the bare minimum of saying hello when I walked into the door. I would say if you want a rushed but inexpensive experience where you are prepared to advocate for yourself and make sure you are getting the results you want this is the place for you. read more

1ST VISIT: Great service, organized and already seeing results following my 1st visit several weeks ago! *Note: Spoke to office but not sure if concerns got noted. 1. DARK SPOTS can occur after treatment so it's CRUCIAL nurse does not lazer ANY areas with razor burn/broken skin (clients need to be vigilant themselves despite all the forms, Facetime consults etc). 2. I always ask to be present in the room during my teen's appointment but giggles aren't always avail (we had to wait on one occasion until an extra pair of goggles became avail). OTHER VISITS: Garage can be packed & dark (scratched my car) so allow ENOUGH TIME as some days/times get busy. Their 10 minutes touch up is a rip off!! They charge you 60 dollars and I was in the room for 5 minutes!!! When I told her that she said she turned her machine on 8 minutes ago (so with that even still not 10 minutes) I had more areas and she just said we are done!! So I paid over 10 dollars per minute. What a horrible service. And even I mentioned that to the front desk they just said 'oh'. Wish it would have worked out for me. I did one session and ended up with burnt underarms. However my friend did it and got great results so I really believe it depends on the person. However after I notified them of my burnt underarms I didn't feel as though the nurse was experienced enough to understand the damage that was done. Now my underarms have dark spots that I have been trying to get rid of for months. Good luck and just be careful and research. I'll stick to electrolysis which gave me no problems.
