Chef preparing dumpling wrappings and pulled noodles
    Alfred L.

Time to gatekeep this place no longer! This place has managed to charge pre-covid/inflation prices while offering super tasty Chinese comfort food. As others have mentioned, this is a no-tipping, self service restaurant. The only caveat is that service is a bit slow, since there is only one wait staff working the tables and register. Their highlight is in their name, noodles and dumplings. They are hand pulled fresh daily and that is a difference you can taste. The noodles are firm and the dumplings are juicy. Everything else is your standard fanfare. The combo meal choices are reminiscent of Panda Express, still great value.

This place is a truly no-frills establishment. You order at a kiosk, take a number, and then sit down and they serve you. For their grand opening there's a discount, but portions are big and food is tasty. Not the highest of classes but a nice, quick place, although people need to learn how to use technology as there can be a holdup with only 2 kiosks.

Newly opened, currently 30% off each item on the menu. Replacing Koongs, Tasty is introducing a fairly innovative model. They have signs posted that it is a self service, no tipping type of restaurant. The menu is posted on the windows and when you enter, you order from a kiosk and take a number with you to find seats. There is a self serve sauce bar with fruits, utensils, napkins, and to go containers. Overall, I like the concept, but things are semi rocky. All the garnishes/toppings were basically low to empty during lunch time I was there. The fruits were still plentiful in the beginning but also bare by the end. The food is decent, hoping they can settle in and improve the food after.

    Potstickers and egg rolls

Had dinner here and boy I was shocked by the prices. Super cheap! Like a bowl of beef noodle was $9. The mini combo was $6 something - includes a dish and carb and side dish. Also got the potsticker and egg rolls which were the best out of our order. The beef noodle soup was pretty oily and doesn't taste great with the oil down your throat. The green onion pancakes were not cooked thru and didn't taste good. There's also no tip. So overall it was definitely cheap eats but you get what you pay for. I would stick to the dumplings and potstickers. Skip on the noodles and mini combo (this seemed precooked and not fresh). If you're on a budget tho, it's not terrible!

This was my first time visiting this newly opened noodle shop, and the owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even though their English is not yet very fluent in the United States, they still made a sincere effort to warmly serve every customer. All of the food is handmade, including the noodles, boiled dumplings, and pan-fried dumplings. During the grand opening, the wide noodle beef noodle soup was only $2. Although the broth was a little spicy and oily, the flavor was still very good, and the beef was tender and flavorful. The dumpling wrappers were slightly overcooked and a bit soft, but the overall taste was still excellent. The wonton soup was also generous in portion and filled with ingredients. This is a noodle shop with great value for the price, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Last time I tried the beef chunks, and today I went with the beef shank, which is sliced beef. It was still very tasty. The broth is lighter and less greasy than the braised version, which I really liked. The napa cabbage was also very tender, unlike some beef noodle soups where it can be quite tough. This time the noodles were thin, handmade noodles, and they were just as good. The only downside is that since they just opened, the service flow does not feel fully established yet, and the food came out a bit slowly. That said, the staff were very polite and had a great attitude.

The restaurant was already busy when we arrived, but we didn't have to wait long for our food. Everything brought to us seemed really fresh. The soup dumplings were our favorite. They had really rich broth and were sealed tight. We also shared beef noodle soup. The beef was really tender and the broth was nice and rich, but neither the beef nor the broth were greasy. The pot sticker dumplings might have been the best thing we had. The bottoms were very crispy and the tops were golden while the filling was juicy and full of flavor. While the tops were crispy and juicy and savory meat, the dumplings were very satisfying. We don't want to forget the also crispy dumplings that vanished from the plate. The people taking care of us were really nice. We want to come back for sure.

I was sad to see Koong's close but there's a new fast casual Chinese restaurant that opened in the same spot. Order is by kiosk, very on trend with modern Chinese restaurants now. Basic dining hall tables and chairs. There is a self serve sauces and condiment counter. Water is also self serve. I ordered for dine in and the table and chairs were clean looking. Spicy chili oil wontons are good, I would order this again. Pan fried pork and cabbage dumplings were bland and really needed sauces. Salt and pepper chicken and shrimp were both good, nice side dishes to have. The braised pork feet noodle soup was delicious. The noodles were chewy and the braised pork feet had nice amount of cartilage and fatty meat. The combo meal was a hit and miss. The fried rice option was dry along with the orange chicken. But the cucumber salad was refreshing. I will come back to try the other noodle dishes and definitely get the salt and pepper items again.

Great restaurant just opened 3 weeks ago. Currently all food discounted at 30% off, such a great deal! Great price with large portions, you order on screen monitors, take a number placard and enter this. Restaurant is very clean with attentive service, also comes with self serve condiments, water, and fruits. Great place that won't break your bank, highly recommended!! Lots of people walking by to check out the menu posted at front. Close to freeway.

Imma keep it real, the price is super good. the food however tastes like it was made with cheap supermarket packets. i got mongolian beef, black pepper beef and cucumbers. The two beef's were both buns and the cucumber was definitely cucumber. It's a no service restaurant which is always fun and the inside is pretty simple.

Food is in low price range, It's a good place to stop by, if you don't want to spend much. The food portion is pretty good. Not bad.

Wow amazing prices, currently 30% off all dishes, decent portions and quality of food, no tip required, self service, and has a sauce bar for dine in only. Honestly, what more can you ask for in the Bay Area? I only came here once so far but definitely going to return. Got 3 combo meals, 2 beef noodle soups, 1 salt and pepper shrimp, and 1 order of scallion pancakes. Yes, food comes out dreadfully slow so if you are in a rush, choose another day to visit. They seem to only have one cook and one waitress. Sauce bar is often emptied soon after it gets refilled but their staff tries to fill it up as best as they can. For the price, absolutely love the taste of their braised beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, and beef roll. Their signature mini bowl combos are a steal for what you get and the taste is okay. They have 2 kiosks where customers can self order and pay. The decor is white and orange and pretty spacious. Hopefully they can find a way to get dishes out faster, but overall, 5/5 stars!

We tried this new place tonight and the food was really good. Granted we did not order much. The lighting in the restaurant was super cool and the ambience was chill. You basically order from a portal and select a table number and the food is brought to your table. There is a self-service section where you would get your own cutlery and small plates along with water. We would definitely come back.

Amazing photo yhe dumplings with the pork rib noodle soup. Absolutely amazing do give it a try, some amazing cuisine
    Cole T.

It is a self-serve restaurant so keep that in mind. Food arrived quick and service was amazing, the prices are very reasonable and it was a 10/10 dinner!

I remember this place used to be Chef Chengdu, but recently closed down and rebranded to become Super Potato. Here's my take and my experience on this place, as a first timer thus far: - The food was honestly out of this world, and when I say the portions are BIG - they were actually enough to cover the container (and even more). That's how much they have. I got the beef tripe with Chinese broccoli and rice, and while I had wished they included more Chinese broccoli, the sauce of the beef tripe was SO pungent and aromatic that I was able to sauce up my rice and enhance the flavor of my plain white rice. - The hospitality of this place was quite well - the waitresses are very attentive to each detail. Our requests were met conveniently without any hesitation. Ambience was also pretty well maintained. I'm definitely gonna come back and have more!! A budget friendly place forsure :)

On the positive side, they do offer a large variety of ingredients to choose from. When my bowl was served, I realized it wasn't the one I had ordered. They had accidentally switched my bowl with another customer's. Later, while eating, I came across some of the marinated cilantro beef, which looked raw. I asked the server if it could be cooked a bit longer, but she explained that it was supposed to be pink. I tried a small piece, but the texture was still very tender, which made me uncomfortable. It also didn't have the texture of what I expected from beef. My cousin also had an issue with her bowl. The lotus root slices were cut fairly thick, so after cooking, it was still undercooked and crunchy. Overall, it was a disappointing experience due to the cleanliness concerns, the order mix-up, and the food quality. There are plenty of ingredient options, but I don't see myself returning.

I came here on a Friday evening with my friend to grab dinner around 6:00 PM. The wait was around an hour, so be very prepared if you're coming during the dinner rush. This spot is located where the majority of the Asian restaurants are in Milpitas, so it's safe to say the parking can get a bit hectic and intense. The interior of the place is very bright, modern, and clean. There is a lot of seating for a small space, but the reason they are so busy has a lot to do with the number of people wanting to check this spot out. When you sit down, you scan their virtual menu via QR code and order there instead of through a server. You have the choice to order on one phone as a group or separately. Between my friend and me, we ordered a beef mint salad, fried tofu, confit mushrooms, and truffle mushroom rice. I will say that when we first got the fried tofu and confit mushrooms, we were quite surprised by the small portions compared to the price. That said, they were delicious, but skippable if you're trying to find the best bang for your buck. What I absolutely would recommend is their truffle mushroom fried rice. This might have been my best bite this month. It was so savory, the mushrooms hit perfectly, and the coating of butter on the rice was supreme. It was $28 for a bowl, but it was a good value to split between two people. Overall, this place had great, fast service (our food came out in under 10 minutes), a nice ambiance, and fresh, flavorful food.

Each one of them are slightly unique, and they're all really good! If the high ratings weren't a accurate indicator, then the packed venues are definitely a conformation. Henan Noodle isn't the biggest venue, it's actually on the smaller side; small mom & pop operation. The place is charming, clean and inviting with a minimalist decor. The restaurant is located in a small plaza off N Milpitas Blvd. I forsee challenging parking during peak times; the lot is not that big either. The service was fine. I'm not sure if lady running the place (at the time of our visit) speaks English; she gave us instructions in Chinese, I'm guessing Mandarin. Well balanced, not too salty, gamey or creamy. Just perfect! The pieces of fish were so tender, good amount of noodle and that pickled cabbage...just brilliant!
