Found this place with the help of Yelp! I ordered a Scramble. Three eggs and Hashbrowns. The Scramble I ordered had Chrizo, Onions and Cheese. I added Tomatoes. I also ordered a single Pancake. All of the food came out piping hot!! Delicious!! I get tired of food coming out luke warm. Not here! My wife ordered the Belgium Waffle and was very pleased with it. Rich and creamy tasting. Seven Mile Cafe looks and smells delightful. My girlfriend and I were treated with respect and the food was superb! I enjoyed the Buttermilk Biscuit plate, while my girlfriend enjoyed the California Chicken sandwich. I was really enthused to be eating here, until I saw the bill... Everything is fairly priced because of the proportions, but I was not previously aware that a small bowl of gravy would cost almost $4. Had I known this, I would have never ordered it... I can understand charging a small fee because of how delicious gravy is..but almost $4 is blasphemy!! Will eat here again..but customers beware! read more

A little cramped, a lot busy, but my girlfriend was delighted at an entire page of vegan options. She recommended the banana pancakes. Each pancake was about a foot across. They text when your table is ready, which is nice. They even have a sister location next door where you can grab coffee while you wait. read more

The one time I've been I was very disappointed. The building itself just seems kind of awkward. The food was ok at best. I ordered a Coke, and our server brought it to me in a can to pour myself, which is fine. What bothered me was that the coke itself was warm, and seemed like it had been just sitting out in the backroom because they didn't like to serve it. AMAZING COFFEE AND DELICIOUS FOOD!!! They roast their own coffee beans on the premises, and make the freshest coffee! The breakfast food is so amazing that we have never even tried the lunch menu. Sweet local business with a homestyle touch! While visiting for the weekend I returned the next day for breakfast, AGAIN! I found ALL of the wait staff to be genuinely friendly and very attentive. Everyone has an open-hearted smile and this makes for a very inviting atmosphere. The space was very clean and lovely to look at. I appreciate the gluten sensitive options and the variety on the menu. The waffle is full and fluffy. If you like super breaded chicken strips, these are the strips for you; they are very tasty and I would have liked a bit more chicken in them. I had the avocado scramble and was delighted both times. Both of my friends had one of the Benny plates and were very satisfied. They have gluten sensitive options for bread here, as well. They have a vegan option for the hollandaise sauce, which I find to be very thoughtful for dairy sensitive people. Overall, I am a very satisfied customer, and I would not hesitate to return! Seven Mile Cafe has the best coffee in Denton by a mile. Their baristas are trained well, they have the right equipment (La Marzocco and Mazzer) and are using great 3rd wave beans from Cuvee (an Austin roaster). You can eat breakfast here as well and it is very good, but the coffee really outshines everything. You can stop in and just get a coffee to go from the front counter as well. read more

Was visiting family from out of town, and luckily they took us here for breakfast before we flew out. The waitress was kind and knowledgeable (listed at least a dozen tea choices off the top of her head) and the food was amazing. The choices of unique and delicious food was so vast, it was difficult to decide what to get. Ended up with the oatmeal, which was fresh and plentiful compared to other restaurants. Didn't experience the wait many people have described (it was a weekday morning), but would have been glad to wait for this tasty food. Hoping to visit Denton again soon, just to try something else on Seven Mile's menu. The 7 Mile Cafe Latte alone is worth the visit. The Oatmeal Creme Brûlée was scrumptious. Brave the crowd and work up an appetite before you leave the house, because Seven Mile Cafe serves amazing food and has an almost fanatical following with good reason. I like going at peak hours even with the longer wait times just to get the sense of occasion the food deserves. The food is not cheap and it shouldn't be. There's no skimping on quality ingredients and portions are generous. The Gouda cheese grits alone are worth a trip. They are creamy bliss. Anything Benedict is great in my opinion, and every component of the Crab Cakes Benedict was absolutely delicious. The crab cakes were definitely well seasoned, and the Hollandaise was buttery and tasty, definitely not the suspiciously floury, heavy Hollandaise at some places with a lot of "Benedicts" on the menu. The texture and flavor of freshly sliced tomato was the perfect counterpoint to a really rich, aggressively flavored dish. And they were big fat tomato slices! The grilled pear sandwich is luscious and wonderful and I get it every time I go. (I split the Crab Cakes Benny with my SO.) Know in advance that you will pay for coffee refills, which may be annoying more because we've come to expect free refills than because we actually want to drink cup after cup of coffee. On everything that really counts, this place is bangin'. And as I said, go when you're hungry enough to eat a showpiece meal. This is not food to be nibbled at. read more

this was my 1st visit there. first off, the waitress told me the cook wouldnt add onions and cheese to my hashbrowns, as cooking them. she said could be served on the side. then the eggs benedict had so much paprika on it, i couldnt taste anything else, really. the sausage gravy had some kinda smoked favor added to it, hashbrowns were soft and all i could taste was paprika! the homemade cinnamon roll could barely be cut with a knife, needed alotta pressure and sawing action. waitress never pre-bussed our table or came to get our payment, had to go to host area to get help. we try different breakfast restaurants in Denton TX, for bisquits and sausage gravy, eggs benedict, and hasbrowns and it was by far, the worst. I dont see how they were busy? I expected it to be awesome, by the crowd. read more

How can you mess up pancakes??? How??? These were the worst pancakes ever! I just got the "house pancakes," which are not buttermilk pancakes. Everytime my coffee got low, they refilled my cup without telling me that I would have to pay close to $6 for each cup, no coffee refills. What??? Don't waste your time or money here. Horrid. Absolutely horrid. I came here with a friend and both our plates were hardly edible. His hash browns were soggy, and everything else on the plate was tasteless. We asked for their "French pressed coffee" and it was watery and bland. I made the mistake of getting their French toast. Now, I am not a picky person nor have I ever written a negative review. But I was convinced something was wrong with the batter. It tasted entirely of baking soda. It was incredibly sour. I had my friend try it to confirm said grossness, and he agreed. I hardly touched my plate, and the waitress came by to ask if it was okay. I apologized, and told her it simply tasted off. She took my plate. I was hungry, but didn't plan to force my way through the meal. We finished up, and I assumed I wouldn't be charged for a plate that I didn't touch. Any time I've been to a food establishment where it was clear that something was wrong with the food, or in my plate in particular, I'm given an apology and not charged. But I was. I asked why and they said they could do nothing for me. But that I could certainly have more of the very same French toast. I politely declined and left, with eight dollars gone and a still-empty stomach. read more

Although Seven Mile is a cozy, little hole in the wall, the service and food were comparable to something I would find if I were to actually cut a hole in a wall of my house... We sat at one of the three tables on the patio and within the hour we spent there, we had 4 different servers come check on us--all asking the same questions, one right after the next. The table next to ours was seated 15-20 minutes after us, and had food in front of them before we even had received our coffee. I ordered the Seven Mile Pot Pie, and the ingredients were ideal to my craving based upon the description on the menu, but my entire entrée was cold. Also, they were out of champagne for mimosas, which I was banking on distracting me from my unfortunate experience there. On a more neutral note, my Seven Mile Latte wasn't terrible, nor was it great. I am visiting Denton and have heard great things about this place...it is disappointing that I had such an unenjoyable first impression. read more

I had heard so many great things about this restaurant, I wanted to go there for a birthday breakfast. I have to say I was totally disappointed! Maybe it was just an off day for the 7 mile cafe... I had the eggs benny, and just had to try the famous blueberry pancake. My friend ordered the Belgium Waffle with strawberries, All dishes arrived but they were cold. The eggs benedict looked good, but the english muffins were not even toasted or heated, tasted like they just pulled them from the bag and placed them on the plate, the Hollandaise sauce was cold and runny like water. But, the eggs were cooked perfect and the hash browns were tasty. The famous blueberry pancake was served cold with blueberry compote on top, no butter. $4. for one pancake! The Belgium waffle was soggy and cold, plus it was served with no butter. Coffee is $3.00 or so a cup with no refills. Our waitress was cold and the service was poor. All in all, my first experience at Seven Mile Cafe was terrible. The bill for the two of us was a whopping $30.00 and it was not at all worth it. They also have a lot of vegan options, which is amazing because it's not very common to find in Texas. Let me just state that the French Press Coffee and service rated much higher. The waitperson also gave me a coffee to go! I had been here before and had enjoyed my experience. However... The downside: the breakfast tacos simply weren't worth it. I come from the ATX where breakfast tacos are a staple of life. I was expecting much more for 8$ tacos. Okay, maybe that was my first mistake, paying 8$ for tacos in Denton. But, I hear that Denton is an up and coming food town, so I expected something of the Kerby Lane variety. Nope. The corn tortillas were cold, the potatoes reminded me of the bagged "Ore Ida" hash browns of my youth, the cheese just came of out the fridge and drizzled on out of a bag, and the eggs had nothing going for them. The salsa was decent. Nothing to write home about, but ok. So, I hope that this isn't simply another "Denton possibility" going the way of most high hopes around here. I hope that this was simply a case of my ordering the "wrong thing". I do appreciate the care given to the coffee! I will go back for that. read more

I absolutely love the food here and the lattes here are! In my opinion, way better than Starbucks but the thing that sucks about this place is the service is not very good. I've been about five times in the past month and a half and each time the service isn't good. I work in a restaurant so I try to give the server the benefit of the doubt and everything but it gets to a point where it's quite annoying. I wouldn't recommend going if you're in a rush. read more

My experience at Seven Mile Cafe was anything but pleasant. Let me start by saying that it was probably the worst service I've had since I can remember. We called in an order for pickup at 8:45am and the woman said it would take 15-20 mins, so we came at 9:08 to pick up our food. The first major problem when we walked in was that no one acknowledged us whatsoever. It wasn't even that busy. We had to wave down the hostess to ask her about our order. She told us to go to the coffee bar to pick it up. That's when the second major problem arose. We waited at the coffee bar for several minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us to ask for our order but they completely ignored us and went on leisurely with their work. Finally I got someone's attention and asked about our order. She seemed extremely annoyed and rudely said that it would be ready "in a minute." But it wasn't. Since there was no where to wait in the tiny restaurant and they didn't offer us a seat, we went back to the car to wait. After going back inside THREE times to check if our order was ready, one of the employees told us that they forgot to send our order to the kitchen due to a computer error. The lady that told us would be ready in a minute did not apologize and was obviously embarrassed. Finally, at 10:15 (an hour and 15 minutes after we called in our order), our food was finally ready. And ironically it was freezing cold. When we were checking out I was expecting some sort of compensation, but a casual apology was all they offered. Although the food was good, it did not outweigh the HORRIBLE service. We will not be back to the Seven Mile Cafe. I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I have visited this place several times and had no problems. Today--The waitress was extremely nice at first. She had my chicken on chicken waffle redone before she brought to table and I appreciated that. But, while redoing chicken the waffle got cold. I ask if she could heat the syrup and the $&@ hit the fan. She was extremely rude started dropping stuff at table turned around and walking away. I had to talk to her back while asking for more ice for my water and another napkin. I got the water but no napkin. Ask to speak to the manager at the time and she acted like she was put out because she (waitress) work there for years and that was not like her. Oh well, it is what it is!
