    Medley for Two
    Irene Z.

I'm so glad I found Seven, finally a Persian restaurant close to Jersey City that's genuinely good. I ordered takeout and was blown away by the quality. The steak was extremely tender and seasoned perfectly, the chicken was soft with amazing flavor, and the kebab was just delightful. The pickle rice is honestly my favorite part of the meal, bright, flavorful, and something you don't find everywhere. I got the medley for two for around $54, and the portion was more than enough. Everything arrived fresh and still tasted incredible. Definitely a place I'll be returning to regularly.

Ordered: Chicken Soltani (~$24 on UberEats): one chicken kabob and one beef koobideh with half saffron basmati rice & half shirazi salad with grilled tomato and lime Bakhtiari (~$34 on UberEats): one chicken kabob and one beef kabob with half saffron basmati rice & half shirazi salad with grilled tomato and lime Aya's take: Being Middle Eastern myself and having had my fair share of Persian food, I was not impressed with Seven Valleys (3.5/5 is a more accurate rating) but considering the lack of options/competition in Hoboken and North Jersey in general, it's decent and does the job. For the price, it felt like the portion could have been better. The saffron basmati rice was also overcooked and not as fragrant or aromatic as I'm used to. It was very buttery and went well with the meats. The meats were the best part of this. The Chicken Soltani & Bakhtiari are both great options if you're looking for variety of meats. The chicken kabob was great but had no sumac on it which is practically unheard of in Persian cuisine. The beef kabob was super tender but they were more like strips not chunks, which again isn't very traditional. The beef koobideh was well-seasoned, slightly dry, but still decent. It was very filling and tasted like home but don't expect to be blown away by any means.

Came here for brunch, the food was really good and enjoyed the light decor. Service was decent but she missed that we asked for the eggs over medium - all good though. It was also a shame they didn't have one of the items on the already short brunch menu but the chocolate tahini French toast was to die for! Not too sweet either. The tea was delicious, we really liked the saffron honeycomb touch. The platter was nice too, but it would've been nice if a meat option was available to come with it. Would love to come back for their dinner menu!

Stopped in here for lunch one random day. Seven Valleys had been on my list for quite sometime. The space is small, quiet and serene. They had a pretty decent lunch special for $13.95 which was your choice of a kebob with rice and shirazi salad. I got the chicken and I added an appetizer of Masto Khiar which is the yogurt. The food was excellent. It was a pretty good lunch portion though I could have used one more piece of chicken. The rice was fantastic. The rice was fluffy and flavorful. The chicken was moist and tender. I did not care for the bread too much but I also prefer to eat the yogurt with my meal. The server was very friendly but it was a pretty slow service. It had a chill vibe in there so I was not expecting a fast paced meal. Just keep in mind that it might be slow when eating on your lunch break.I will certainly be back for dinner very soon.

Ordered takeout. Delicious food! but the portion size is rather small compared to other restaurants. I would order again.

Small quaint place, quick & attentive service and fresh, good food -- just the right combination required for late Saturday lunch! We had Kale Salad with chicken, Veg kebab platter and their bread with cherry jam. Food was tasty. We both loved the cherry jam with cardamon. My veg platter was almost perfect, just lacking some sauce to tie it together. Oh and the best part....you can buy a $2.00 piece of real good baklava to satisfy the sweet tooth without causing a dent in the diet :) Definitely try this place out. Dont remember if it is BYOB.....if it is next time carrying a bottle for the meal!

Appetizer, forgot the name, but it's the one made from eggplants.

2nd time here and was with a group. Food was delicious and staff were friendly. The chicken chunks were big yet very tender and juicy, not dry at all. Just the skewers are a bit pricey (~$15 per skewer).

Best Dolma's we've ever had!! Food was exceptional and service was great. Ambience was wonderful as well. The lamb shank stood out and fell right off the bone! Will be coming back here.

Baklava (comes with 4 pieces, already ate 2 before this picture)

I went to Seven Valleys on a weekday to try out their lunch special with two friends. I got the beef kabob with a side of hummus, and they got the chicken kabob, one with a side of baklava and the other with a side of hummus. The beef kabob was okay - I really wish I got the chicken kabob because it looked more flavorful and filling than the beef. They both enjoyed their chicken kabob, and one spoke highly of the baklava, so I decided to order it for dessert. There's actually four pieces of baklava for the dessert, but I had already eaten two before the picture was taken because it was so good! The lunch special is really a great deal, only $13.95 for the whole plate and definitely worth it. The restaurant itself is small (like a city restaurant) but cute ambiance, and it was pretty full for a weekday lunch crowd.

Decided to come here on a random weekday since we were in the area. Spot is on the smaller side and we asked to sit outside to enjoy the beginning of spring. Good vibes. We ordered the Medley for Two along with two appetizers (hummus and Potato Tadhig with chicken stew). My husband really liked the hummus and bread and even asked for seconds on the bread. My husband got the cherry soda and I got an iced tea for refreshments. They were busy so food came a little more spaced out, but I'm okay with it because the food was really yummy. Would like to come again for their brunch. Appropriate for a dinner with you partner or besties.

Beef kebab, rice, cucumber salad, pistachio baklava

Got the beef kebab lunch special with rice, cucumber salad, and mini baklava. The portion was just enough rather than heaping. The beef was good but could've been chewier and more flavorful. Overall the meal was healthy but not incredibly exciting. The baklava was dense and sweet and was the best I've had.

The staff is so friendly and so many persians were there, I was quite pleased at that! You don't typically walk into any restaurant in Chelsea/Flatiron and find that half the people or more in the restaurant are of that culture (unless we're talking cheeseburgers or wings here). Their wine list is extensive and interesting. They don't have everything on it, but that's okay, we had a fun Artadi wine from Spain - a winery we've been to, which was what I was going for on the list. The cocktails didn't speak to me, but that's okay, persian cocktails can be great or confused. These seemed more on the confused side. The fresh herbs were served as an app, and they were great. Just like my grandma always has on her table. The feta stuffed dates were fantastic, again a nice treat that reminds me of something my grandma might serve me. The labne was stellar with pita bread, and the kashk e bademjan was really good, though not like any I've made before. But that dish can be wildly different anywhere you go. I asked for Tahdig and got some, but I got ghormeh sabzi dolloped on my tahdig which was interesting - like ghormeh sabzi nachos. I do wish the ghormeh sabzi was better. However I may just be extremely partial to our own ghormeh sabzi at home. The cornish game hen kabas were out of this world! sooooo juicy! Definitely worth a visit - you'll enjoy it - but I don't know if tahdig and ghormeh sabzi here are the way to go.

Was also impressed by the roasted cauliflower, the flavor was incredible with the pickled vegetables, shallot yogurt, and tomato & chili glaze. Sofreh bread was also delicious with the cauliflower. Jewel rice was also delicious, think I would prefer the saffron rice next time as the candid orange was a bit overpowering for me. Lamb shank was delicious, but the star of the show was definitely the pomegranate beef ribeye. Insanely juicy and flavorful. Loved the roasted tomatoes and grilled onions (had a nice acidity to them), and the pomegranate pieces were the perfect complement to the ribeye. I would skip the persian rosewater sorbet as it was incredibly limey and tough to finish due to how acidic it was. The cardamom rose cake was moist and unique though! I also really liked the persian black tea and the ghand. I liked their downstairs bathroom more as they have footage playing on the projector. The food - delicious, packed with flavor. My kids were baffled how proteins they're used to eating (beef, chicken) could taste so differently thanks to unique spices and whatnot. The meal came to about $20 per person (no drinks, just the entrée) and while the 'Kabob Koobideh' was a generous portion, the falafel sandwich (for $15) is wildly overpriced (it's about $10 from Greek Town right across the street, never mind about $8 from Mamoun's just about two minutes away over on Rt. 17N). Happy to have tried it, would come back (while grumbling about the cost under my breath because I'm a crabby old man).

They give complimentary flat bread which is tasty. Our Persian friend mentioned usually Persian restaurants give the bread with herbs and feta rather than just plain. We did find on the menu the herbs and feta was an extra cost. We had the kebab combo and subbed cherry rice and salad (which is cucumbers and tomatoes) and also exchanged the ground chicken kebab for a chicken breast kebab. The standout was the steak kebab and the cherry rice. There were so many cherries in the rice, and it was both sweet and savory. I couldn't stop eating it. The steak was super juicy and well seasoned. I also really like the roasted tomato on the side, basil and pickled cabbage. We ordered a stew, think it was Ghormeh sabzi.
