We were very excited to see this place filled with people during covid. (50% seating) The food was delicious. They were out of lobster Rangoon so I guess you have to get there before 6! So we went with the rolls as an appetizer and the sauce was amazing! I ordered the lemon chicken and it was mouth watering, my husband had the salmon and his was tasty too!! Our son got the grilled cheese which he gobbled up! We also had drinks and they were very well crafted as well!! Highly recommended if you are in Holland! I would just add that several items on the menus required you to ask the server for description which isn't a bad thing but maybe a suggestion for the waiters to share! read more

Called ahead to see how long the wait was, about thirty minutes before we arrived. As we walk in the door they are seating a couple outside. Go up to the hostess tell her table for two, the hostess says it will be a couple of minutes for them to clean a table. While we were waiting for the table the general manager/manager very rudely interrupted us as we were speaking to the hostess and in an angry tone told us they were closed. They close between lunch and dinner. Didn't try to accommodate us in any way then scurried away. It was humiliating and made us feel like we're not good enough to eat in their establishment. We will never go back there. We've never been treated so poorly. Maybe the owner should know about this. I'd want to know if my staff were treating patrons so poorly. read more

We had a large-ish group (10 people) for a celebration dinner. The reviews looked great from what we saw and we were excited for an upscale menu to celebrate our friend. We were seated and ordered our drinks. I'd say for the few people sitting right near me and myself included, none of us were huge fans of our cocktails. Mine was a mojito with no mint and another girl said her drink tasted like it had no alcohol. Ok, fine, not the best cocktail place--I'm spoiled with amazing options in Chicago anyway. We then ordered apps and then eventually our entrees. Apps were all good--everyone enjoyed what they got. Then the mains came and while I can only speak for myself, I'd say my entree was so-so. Not bad, but not great or super flavorful. Again, I am spoiled by my city's food options so I wasn't super upset. I'd say the two stars I'm giving are for the quality and variety of food--not bad at all! Now, on to the gripe. I can be totally on board with mediocre drinks and food. Not every place will hit the nail on the head with every menu item. What I can't get past is bad customer service. While the service in the beginning part of the meal was all fine and good, once our entrees came, our server was basically non-existent. He never came back to check on us, ask if we needed drinks, etc. Our dirty appetizer dishes and platters all sat on the table the rest of the night as well as our empty drink glasses. At one point we saw him walk past (no eye contact mind you) and had to go run and flag him down to order another drink. When he did, he only came to one side of the table to ask and then again never came back. Finally, after searching for him and not seeing him anywhere on the main floor of the restaurant, I went to ask the woman behind the bar if she had any idea where he was. She responded with, "well he is downstairs stocking right now". Ok...well do you know when he'll come back to check on us? "Is there something you need?" Oh--I don't know, maybe he can come see if we want more drinks (aka spend more money) or if any of the plates/glasses can be cleared? No apologies, nothing after that exchange. TL;DR: I visit Holland about 2-3x a year and haven't had such poor customer service at ANY restaurant or bar. Always friendly/attentive service by all staff alike. Seventy Six either needs to train their staff better or have more servers available on Friday/Saturday nights. read more

We just returned from an unimpressive dinner at seventy six. Normally this is a favorite if all 4 of us. If this had been my first time to the restaurant, we would never come back. The restaurant was very loud. We asked the server to turn down the music, but she ignored our request. People were yelling over the music to talk. There were large parties, of 8 or 9. The food was mediocre. I had the scallops, which were good, but not very flavorful. My wife had the Meyer lemon chicken. The portion was very small an lacked any lemon taste. I commented to the waitress and again she blew me off with a comment that it was a 6oz portion. No "I am sorry", no hint at even caring. Obviously she had other things she wanted to be doing. Went to 76 with a couple friends from out of town. Opted to sit in the patio area because they had two small children with them. The service was great and so was the vibe, equaling the quality of the food. The Double Cheeseburger and fries were the perfect amount and everything was done incredibly well. We went to Seventy-Six in Holland last night. First off service and food were excellent. We started the meal with some bruschetta which was so light and fresh probably best I've had in a while. My main course was their special a salmon dish with couscous simply delicious. My wife had almond crusted salmon with a tika masala seasoning basmati rice and naan. Over all a really nice meal the only draw back was the noise level. There wasn't music it was just people speaking but it was very difficult to hear each other talk. read more

I only got a carry out but wish I could of stayed and ate it. Everything that I ordered was in my carry out which is a huge plus!! I know that may sound weird but a lot of places seem to forget at least something in a larger carry out. First I got the egg rolls and they were delish! The short rib grilled cheese and tomato soup was to die for. I'm normally not a big fan of restaurant tomato soup but this one omg amazing!!!!! Paired great with the short rib grilled cheese. The chicken tacos again perfect with the sauce. The staff when I arrived was super nice and even made sure I was helped. The interior is absolutely gorgeous. We tried this place for dinner last night. We arrived at 6:10 and they said the wait was an hour for a table of four. We grabbed some drinks at the very nice bar and they have a separate dining room in the back which is more conversation friendly. The place was packed and had a big city vibe. Service was good and after 30 minutes we got a table in the same back room. The ambience and lighting in that room isn't very nice compared to the main dining area but that can be upgraded with something better than harsh can lights in the ceiling. We started with the crab cake and gumbo which was ok. My wife had the lemon chicken which she said was fine but nothing spectacular. I had the whitefish and it was strangely served on a wood cutting board? No thanks! It seems as though they concentrate more on presentation here than anything else. We have also been to Public but haven't been back. I wouldn't compare their food with places like Butch's or Sandy Point Beach House but with a little time things might improve, hopefully! read more

Great environment and awesome food and drinks, the whole sha-bang. We did a Friday Happy Hour sesh on the patio of dirties (they have blue-cheese stuffed olives), apps and wedges. Service was great, weather was perfect and after three rounds of grey goose martinis and a full meal we were pleasantly surprised (actually double checked the bill to make sure everything was on there) at a tab of $45/person. Our second time at 76 and it was stupendous! My husband and I are from Chicago and eat out at least twice a week. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star for their food. Really well done. So kudos to the chef! My only issue was the wait staff . A tad slow and their conversations amongst themselves at the bar should be a tad more quiet ( though we learned a lot about an employee's child..lol..). I was left feeling broke, disappointed and hungry. It is the same ownership as Public, claiming to have a different Chef. I was severely underwhelmed finding out that half the menu appeared on Public's menu as well. I'm a firm believer in calling it like it is, and it is a flop. A few of us snuck to the bar to sip and wait for our table. It was hard to see only one bartender on duty, providing for 10-12 seated bar guests and 6-8 standing patrons, as well as crafting drinks for the whole dining room. Obviously, the Bartender was quite overwhelmed and falling far behind. Only once, in the hour we waited, did anyone from the restaurant back him up. We asked for a sweet wine and 2 sparking wines. The German Riesling, although delicious, was a dry Riesling and not suitable for the ordering party. The Sparking wine was an overly sweet moscato, a good gateway wine for first time drinkers. Once seated, we started with 3 appetizers: the angels on horseback, warm goat cheese and spicy tuna poppers. The poppers, being the only un-familiar item of the 3, was the best thing I ate all night. Using the term poppers is misleading: It is sashimi style tuna on a plate with sauces and greens. The zing I expect from the menu term "Wasabi Crema", was lacking. The Hemingway daiquiri was ordered and was just sad. Any half decent cocktail bartender can make this drink sleepwalking, and Seventy Six got it all wrong. Syrupy consistency, omitted citrus & wrong ratios. Our server was trying very hard but only to be unattentive and awkward. If I'm paying a pretty penny for my meal, I expect the server to anticipate my needs, and she was far from even knowing that we had water glasses let alone other needs. For main, the 36 hour Braised Beef Cheek Cannelloni. The only taste present was white truffle and under cooked pasta, leaving one to ask: Where's the beef? Another guest at the table ordered the Caesar salad. Be warned, this is not an entree. It would barely qualify as a side salad! On the plus side, the polenta croutons were the best part of any entree present. The Creme Brulee lacked any flavour, unless you consider creamy a taste. It was missing any crunch or form of brulee. The illusion created by raw cocoa powder &/or cinnamon does not stand up to a burnt sugar upper crust. We, a party of six, a bill over $300, waited over half an hour for the check to be dropped off and processed. One party member ended up walking the bill over to the server station where staff was chatting. No thanks. If I come back, I will put on my low-expectation pants, and order a burger and a beer. read more

Ignore the reviews before this one. Anyone who disparages a restaurant when it's not even a month old is inconsiderate & oblivious to the trials of opening a small business. The four of us came here on Halloween and had a sampling: lobster rangoons, avocado smash, mushroom chevre skillet, perch platter, beef cheek cannelloni & veggie pad Thai. Dishes were beautifully presented and enjoyed by all. My favorite was the mushroom chevre skillet - good God, that was tasty! Also savored my perfectly cooked perch. Service was friendly and any time our server didn't know an answer, he was kind enough to check with the kitchen. The manager was fantastic as well and took her time to give us the details and origins of this new establishment. I've been a regular Holland visitor my whole life and it's great to see a new restaurant come in and elevate the culinary game in this fair city. Highly recommend; will be back! read more

Those who know Luke from Public know what to expect from him. Seventy Six does not disappoint. The bar is comfortable with a great selection of mixed drinks and top shelf liquors (although you will get charged $1 for a whiskey rock). We had the goat cheese and mushroom queso and it out of this world. I had the Salmon jambalaya and it was great. My wife had the Short rib grilled cheese, tomato soup and avocado salad. The tomato soup was basically a bisque and was great. The grilled cheese was great with sautéed onion and short rib meat, the only complaint would be the bread was disappointing. The avocado salad was pretty much a southwest slaw and was great. Overall the entire menu looks great and I'm excited to try more of the selections. My only complaints would be the restaurant is very loud and the fact they charged me $1 for an ice cube...seriously a dollar? We will definitely be back. Our 3rd trip for their Happy Hour, 4:30-5:30. DO NOT sit at the bar. You have to ask if there is a Happy Hour food menu. The bartender also waits nearby tables, so when he tells you you have 10 minutes left to order, good luck getting his attention. The bar also ends in a wait station that is social central for the wait staff. Be ready to listen to 3 to 7 employees taking loudly about their day, their kids, their houses, etc. Also on our visit one employee(?) sat at the end of the bar and held court with most of the staff. I watched one staff member finally pick up a beer, only to stir it up to hide the fact that it had been sitting there so long. The Happy Hour food menu is good, but very limited. And at one hour it certainly gives the impression that their hearts aren't into it. After watching the staff socialize for over an hour with a fairly full dining room and the 1 hour Happy Hour, they give the distinct impression that the customer does not come first at this establishment. This seems to be one of the nicer places in town, hence our 5th visit.But with the summer season approaching they seem to be riding on their coattails and not really giving a rats ass about how well they are doing. The owner claims to be opening new places soon, one can only hope the patrons at those places will be granted a little more respect with a new staff. read more

Since it opened this has been one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Sadly, things have slipped both in service and food quality. Party of five came on Labor Day weekend and had made reservations weeks ago. When we arrived the hostess stand looked kind of chaotic as if no one was in charge. When I gave my name one of the hosts/bussers, quite abruptly, told us our table was ready but it would be 5 minutes while she set out the silverware. Then she proceeded to set a table for two. The only thing missing from the table was literally the silverware but she wouldn't seat us. My husband asked another server if we could sit at a table closer to the window and she said sure. All Good, Right? There were about six empty tables so maybe there was a staffing issue last night as it definitely felt like no one was in charge, and the staff was untrained. It took at least 15 minutes for our server to greet us at the table. When looking at drinks, we realized most of their specialty drinks were premade. We aren't fans of premade drinks and to charge over $12 plus for them was another issue. I don't mind paying 'skilled" bartenders to make me a drink but when you are just pouring from a pitcher, then they shouldn't charge at the high end of the market. The food was just okay. The goat cheese skillet was definitely the best thing we ate. Three at our table had salmon that was drenched in very sweet Kung Pao sauce hiding the taste of the fish. Edible but I wouldn't recommend it. I had a whitefish that basically had crabcake spread on the top. The whitefish itself wasn't flavorful. I ate half of it and then was done. I am hoping the owners read this and hire some knowledgeable staff to get things back to their former quality. I don't think we will be back until they do. read more
