Please Brought my car in for an ac compressor change, I trusted some reviews but should have listened to the bad reviews, Francisco , the white shirt charged me 700$ for service but the next day my car was blowing heat right away, they claimed they put an ac compressor and that was the problem, but my new improved mechanic said there was no new compressor that they had changed an ac line thinking it would fix it. I asked for an estimate prior to letting him work on my car. He said the parts were around $100 so that it shouldn't cost much. They then worked on it for ab 3 hours and I was charged $425. When I left with the car, my a/c wasn't working, i let it run till i got home and it was blowing out hot air. Mind you, the issue with my car had nothing to do with the a/c. I called him he said to bring it back and fixed it with no charge and I wondered why. He claimed the battery was bad and that's why my a/c wasn't working. I got it tested at oreilly to be sure and the tester said it was perfectly good, not even in its last quarter or anything. I believe he bs me into believing it was my battery, but i think they had made a mistake/disconnected something and reconnected it and made it look like it was the battery, but the battery would never have anything to do with the a/c blowing out hot air. I believe this man scams and manipulates, especially to women like myself. He does write his own paper invoices and wouldn't give me exact part numbers that were under warranty. Only part names were written on the invoice he gave me. He may work fast, but I will not be going back and would advise others in trusting him or his brothers in doing anything on my vehicle again. read more

I have been a customer of Francisco's for some time, I've learned he's no longer trustworthy he's scamming me and my friend twice she was overcharged for a service he preformed on her car recently after he quoted her the price added additional repairs that were never discussed when the car was dropped off and forced her to have to pay when she went back to pick up the car. He looked at my car for 20 minutes but claims he spent hours on it. Meant to write this a while ago, but can't recommend enough! Our rear brakes seized up, and we were quoted ~1700 plus some time to wait for parts to be ordered in to the dealer's service center. I called Sevilla's and Francisco had me come in the next morning (on a Saturday, too) to put it up in the rack and give a second opinion. To my surprise, they were able to complete the repair within 2 hours with OEM Lexus parts, and at a fraction of the cost! Francisco walked me around the car explaining the work done and what potential next maintenance work might be. I k is it's hard finding a quality mechanic that isn't going to overcharge you or try and sell you in things your vehicle might not need. I remember being told by a AAA mechanic when I went to go get my car serviced that I needed a new flex pipe because it was rusting out. I took it to Sevilla's and he looked at it and told me that they were wrong and it just needed a small patch and weld job. That was 3 years ago and the car still runs great. They offer walk in service jobs as long as they aren't extremely busy. They offer appointments. They have a nice waiting area with seating for 10 people. $49 for a regular oil change non synthetic oil. But the work they do is amazing. read more

So let the record show, I'm your stereotypical female who doesn't know a whole lot about cars. I used this service about a year ago when my AC went out on my car. Initially I was quoted $400-$500 to fix it, then after picking up my car, I was charged over $800. Now I never anticipated writing a review for them in the first place because I understand once you start taking things apart in a vehicle, additional problems can come up, which of course means additional time and labor. So I said nothing, paid and went on with my existence. Mind you - this shop is my neighbor. So in turn I'm very fortunate to be able to live so close to a mechanic especially when I don't live near friends or family who could help me in emergencies. Such as today. I made a mistake and left my lights on the night before. And of course my battery died. I walked the two steps over to them to asked if they could jump my car. They can and do.... for $20 bucks. I'm sorry, $20 bucks charged since I only had $10 in cash. Sure, this is petty of me, but I honestly thought they would have just done it for free, and I was going to tip whoever that $10 bucks for saving my ass. Especially considering it took all of 30 seconds to walk over, jump it and leave. For me the positive side of this shop is that it is very close and everytime i had taken my cars there I have been able to get them back the same day. Also the parts have been from the dealer instead of Autozone or something similar. On the down side. I have been charged an arm an a leg. Hourly rate will be as it pleases the owner and you will know the price at the end of the ordeal. In my opinion it will cost you about same as the dealer if not more. For example on my last service would cost me about $70 for an sytheyic oil change for a chevy malibu 2013. The dealer did it for about $ 50, plus i got $ 13 discount for point so it came down to less than half of what i would have paid at this place. In other words I would rather go to the dealer. At least it would be transparent and would be supporting a number of employees. read more

Expect a shameless abuse of trust. (I wish there was a NEGATIVE star rating for this place.) If you absolutely MUST use this place, DEMAND an itemized bill BEFORE agreeing to ANY repair. My wife had three repairs done here before I finally put and end to the blatant rip-off charade. She was taken in by the owner's charm and new waiting area. She thought she had found a nice, family-owned, local repair shop she could trust. And his first repair was quick and reasonable, but then things quickly got out of hand. Suddenly, minor repairs came back with MAJOR bills and NO EXPLANATION for why. For example, she went there with a broken starter cap (A $28 part from NAPA Auto parts and attached by four easily-accessible bolts) and came back with a nearly $900 bill. When she called for explanation Francisco told her his mechanics also found "other things that needed replaced" as well but no details offered or items were listed on the receipt. When I told him that I could've flown to China and bought the part cheaper myself for the same cost (seriously, look it up), the owner, Francisco, was too busy with other customers to explain right now but would call back later--which never happened. And this wasn't the first time we received highly skeptical billing. Under $20 parts for burnt out tail light bulbs or flasher relays have cost us $500 after charges for "inspection, diagnostics, and repair". Then just to add insult to injury, we've had to make three return trips to get a window motor fixed because they installed an equally damaged USED PART while charging us for a new one. Really??!! There is simply no expectation to professional integrity, personal reliability or commitment to customer service and satisfaction. The place is run like an illegal back-alley chop shop using junkyard parts. Good luck with your $1,200 "new" brake job. The bottom line: The owner and his work are not to be trusted. This is NOT a local, honest repair shop in your neighborhood just trying to do a good job at a fair price. You are paying dealer markup for amateur work. Most of his customers are those in desperate need, first-timers or women/wives with little or no repair experience and he ROBS THEM BLIND for minor, unnecessary and shoddy work. The owner, Francisco, routinely IGNORES his own ESTIMATES and claims to do additional necessary work his crew discovered and then sends them home or throws out the parts before you can see for yourself. Instead they wash your car, vacuum the seats and smile while charging you OUTRAGEOUS COSTS. My advice; do your best to NEVER GO TO SEVILLAS! If you're ever on Milwaukee avenue and your car stops, stalls or even sputters directly in front of Francisco and Sevillas auto repair, JUST PUSH IT somewhere else. GAS THIEVES I went there last week because my window got stuck in the down position. he told me they needed to replace a regulator, hinges and a cord... he charged me $450. that seemed a bit much to me at the time but i accepted it because he told me he used BMW parts (its an x3) and i thought fine. then i get in the car and a couple miles down the road my check engine light comes on and as i am looking at the dash I realize that im down about 1/8 of a tank and my computer tells me i have 50 less miles left in my tank than i did when i dropped it off. Then I pull over and check my gas cover. low and behold it is open and the cap is off. so i take my car in... you fix my window (at least it works fine now, can't argue against that) but then you steal gas out of my car. its premium... a far as I am concerned Sevillas is a scam and they own me about $30 worth of gas. I'm probably going to have to settle for going to a trustworthy and skilled mechanic like the guys in Evanston at Davis Auto Imports. this is the first i didnt go to them and clearly i regret it. read more

Sevilla's was close by, called them and they said come on in. They have 3-4 bays and several guys, seemed very on top of things. But the big difference was when I checked out. This place is amazing. We bought a new car in 2003, and this was the first time it has needed repair. We had no idea where to do but based on Yelp reviews we tried Sevilla's. They opened at 8am. We called and explained the situation and drove right over. They took us in immediately, drove me to the blue line station, and within 30 minutes had a diagnosis. Their estimates were actually BELOW what we were charged, they were very professional and informative, even taking my husband over to the car to show him things, etc. The whole repair only took 2 hours! We ended up needing a new fuel injector assembly, and we went ahead and got a tune up too. The new assembly, spark plugs, wires, cleaning our air filter (we have a K&M), cleaning our sensors, oil change for $650. I'll definitely be back here for all my automotive needs and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. read more

Im actively looking for a shop that can fix my car without me worrying about getting jipped. Although I feel they are prompt in getting the cars in and out, I feel clarity in itemizing the bill for one to be able to identify and compare with other shops would be very beneficial. For example, I was charged $350 for a short in the starter. In speaking with the owner, I didnt get a clear sense of what I paid for since the guy at the desk (ot the owner/manager) jumped around different issues with the car and that I might have to take it to the dealership for a more comprehensive analysis in case this problem reappears. I think they are ok but I didnt get a good feeling when i walked out today. This can bother some people while some others are okay with this but I still wanted to put this out there. Bottom Line: Get a well detailed estimate before you get your car in and understand what you will be paying for and be able to compare it with other shops. read more

After getting estimates from about 3 other places, for an engine replacement, Francisco (the very nice guy who owns this place) gave me a quote of $1000 cheaper. They also towed me for free (I live just a few blocks away, but who else would do that?), and fixed my parking brake cable for no extra charge. Plus, they did it in ONE DAY!! All those other places said 4-7 days. Afterwards, the car ran like a dream. I have since sold my baby, but I would go back there in a heartbeat for any other problem. They fully explained what they were doing, and recognized the blank stare on my face because I don't speak "mechanics," and worked with me until I got it. I have taken my Chevy Aveo (lovingly known as Mr. Big) here and as a single woman I think it's important to recommend businesses like this one to other single woman who may need their car serviced. No shady sales tactics here! After about 65,000+ miles "Mr Big" was starting to give me a lot of trouble. Fransisco Sevilla was always very honest with me and would let me know the urgency of the work I needed done. So I could financially plan for things like new tires or other things cars sometimes need replaced regularly. 2. Clean & SAFE waiting area! I have had to hang out in the waiting area before with a computer and the waiting area is so comfortable and very clean (unlike other car shops...). There are no creepazoids hanging around - I am a one woman wolf pack and I have ALWAYS felt VERY SAFE, COMFORTABLE AND SECURE at Sevilla's. There is nothing worse than having a broken car AND feeling harassed by the guys working on your car with no way to escape. 3. Affordable prices - up front prices! I have been to other places where they just start working on your car and you have no clue what to expect in terms of cost. Once the problem is identified this place is 100% up front about the work they will do, the parts and their prices and the cost for labor. 4. Guaranteed Service! How many car repair shops will guarantee their service? Not many that's for sure! 5. Great prices on tires! You can't beat the price and quality of tires here. 6. Best wipers I ever had! Something about the wipers at this place - I sometimes had my oil changed at Jiffy Lube and their wipers suck compared to Sevilla's. Once I started getting my oil changes here I never went back to Jiffy Lube! (Funny story... I had no idea he could do oil changes, I'm so clueless about car maintenance that I thought only places like Jiffy Lube did that! Ha ha... silly me! For starters, he has the most elegant waiting area that I have ever seen (in an auto shop)...lol. I went in to get my brakes (front and rear) replaced. I knew that I was probably going to need new rotors since it had been 5 years since I replaced the pads. He was able to save the rear rotors but the front 2 needed to be replaced. I also needed new disks, pads, the whole nine yards. My regular mechanic gave me an estimate of $600. Sevilla's charged me a little over $300. I think I found a new mechanic ;-) read more

I started using Sevilla's about 5 years ago because it's close to my office. My main comment is you can really trust this shop. Francisco Sevilla is knowledgable and honest. Pricing has always been fair - approx 1/3 less than a dealership would charge. I own older luxury cars and Sevilla's keeps them running well. Really well. Even my 1970's collector car which most shops wouldn't touch. Since Francisco services all 4 cars in our family I appreciate how he feels "invested" in them running well.
