My wife, our son, and I had a wonderful meal this past OU-Texas football weekend. Sevy's has a pretty cool ambiance and is a little more upscale than I expected. Our waiter was top notch and did a great job with taking care of us. My birthday was a month ago, and my son gave me a belated birthday gift at the door when we came in, a gift certificate to another place of business. I guess our waiter oversaw the exchange. Sometime during the meal, he came and quietly asked my wife what dessert she might like to celebrate the occasion. After we finished our entrees, he brought out a delicious chocolate cake with a birthday candle in it. No charge for that on our final bill. I thought it was a nice unexpected touch of service. We started the meal off with the fried calamari ... it was cooked perfectly. The calamari was tender, not rubbery at all like I've had in numerous other restaurants. For entrees, I had the salmon w/BBQ sauce, all served over mashed potatoes ... it was great. My son had the mixed wild game grill entree and my wife had the Chilean sea bass. She said the sea bass was a little saltier than she cares for, but was still delicious nonetheless. The mixed wild game grill was great! My son ate the quail first and then offered us a bite from his venison steak. The sauce was superb and it was some of the best venison I've ever had. The did a nice job with keeping my water glass filled and my gin and tonic was just right. Not too weak .. not too strong. With our starter, our entrees, wine and drinks for the three of us, my final tab was around $200. So, it's not cheap ... but I do feel we got our moneys worth given the quality of the meal and level of service. All and all, I highly recommend Sevy's Grill. read more

Well, for lack of better words- this was not good. The staff wasn't too friendly, it was dark inside, and the food we ordered was not good. Shrimp cocktail- for 4 tiny shrimp it was $12 and not fresh. The deviled eggs were mayonnaise and sour cream based- Yuck. The wine list was sub par. We will not be back. Dark cozy atmosphere with crisp white linens. Great place to quietly chat for a business lunch. Also a choice place to unwind after a hard day at the office with a friend or two. For some reason I envision this is the place where you introduce your boy/girlfriend to the parents locale. You'll start to salivate as you watch your waiter usher over a tender, juicy slab of meat. The first time we went to Sevy's may have been an anomaly. This time, everything was nearly perfect. The daily special, an aukashi steak, was offered as a half portion. Not only a substantial savings, but the right size. It was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, with complimentary sides. As for the pork chop, it would be very hard to find a better one anywhere, and the polenta was quite different, not grainy, a finer grind. Outstanding tiramisu. Service was quite good, not hovering. Just did not have a great meal at Sevy's last night. I ordered rosemary chicken. Although it was tender and juicy, it had no flavor and was accompanied by an equally flavorless sauce. And did I mention the portion size? Small. Very small. Same deal with my partner's tenderloin. No flavor. But it was tender and cooked to the perfect temperature. My first visit but I had just had a large lunch so I was looking for a something on the lighter side. I had the corn chowder which was so delicious and that wouldn't be something I would normally choose. I also had a wedge salad with beef tenderloin. The meat was so tender and cooked exactly how I requested. I loved the large chunks of blue cheese! All that was missing was a glass of wine! Darn... From the time we were greeted as we walked in the door, the service and food were impeccable. We started with the beef carpaccio with mustard ice cream, that in itself was unique and addictive. I opted for the Lobster special and was blown away by the size of the lobster claw cocktail, the delicious lobster bisque and the grilled lobster tails with pasta. My husband had the Texas Wagyu steak with brandy peppercorn sauce and it melted in your mouth. OK if you want to nice dinner out, this place maybe a little bit pricey but it is quiet classy very comfortable and delicious food in the Park cities University Park area I highly recommend this place. Their set menu options are reasonable and flexible so I could modify the menu when I wanted to bring in a cake. The private room was set up beautifully. I came for the burger... just the burger. I'd read good things, figured I'd check it out. The ingredients were good. I just didn't care for the execution. The smoked bacon was so overpowering. You couldn't taste anything else, much less the flavor of their special mustard spread and the burger meat itself that about 4 bites in I decided to eat the bacon. The bacon was sooo good... but that didn't save the burger, it was too late I realized this burger was smoky too, they cook on a wood fire grill, so that should make the burger have that smoke flavor as well. I loves me some smoke, but too much of it combined with the tart mustard/horseradish spread it just did not wow me at all. And for the price it wasn't worth it. I would like to come back and eat some of their other offerings. But I'll definitely skip the burger from now on. read more

We ended up here after we couldn't get a reservation at several other places we were trying to get in at. I had never heard of it so I wasn't sure what to expect. The ambiance was nice, upscale but not overally done. It has a nice dark wood throughout making it feel a little homey. We started with a few drinks, they have a good wine, beer and cocktail selection. My husband love the chai cocktail that he got. Even though it was saturday at 7, it was not crowded and the service was great. Everyone at the table had the lobster bisque except me. My husband wasn't impressed but the other two liked it. So I would recommend a cup of it but not a bowl. My brother and I both had the scallops and my sister in'law had the sea bass special. They both raved, saying it was some of the best seafood they have had since moving to Dallas from San Francisco. I loved the shaved fennel salad that came with the scallops and the scallops were perfectly cooked. The roasted corn butter was delicious and a perfect compliment to the scallops. I wasn't a huge fan of the crispy polenta, I felt like it didn't fit that well with the other components of the dish, but it was delicious on its own. We finished with some espresso and coffee. It was nice that even on a Saturday night, no one rushed us or pressured us to free up a table. Overall, I will probably be back if I am in the area. I thought it was reasonably priced for the quality of food and the overall experience was great. read more

We had a large family brunch here this weekend. All of the servers were courteous, accommodating, and respectful. Everyone enjoyed their meal (and that is saying a lot given the diversity of the group)! My aunt had booked their back room for a small party following the brunch. Many more people showed and again, we were treated extremely well. We passed the restaurant twice looking for it - they need a bigger sign, or they need to add some color to it. I experienced Sevy's for the first time tonight at a business dinner. Everything was perfectly geared toward business diners. A perfectly mixed Old Fashioned on the patio, attentive table service, and excellent wine service that never let our glasses reach empty throughout the meal. I had scallops for dinner. They were cooked beautifully -- tender and perfectly seared. The chives sauce with them was wonderful. While I'm not sure this American cuisine restaurant would be my top choice for personal dining, it definitely makes my list for business entertaining. read more

Came here for a special date night with my hunny. Loved the low lighting and roses on the tables. Very romantic. The food was amazing. Had it been socially acceptable, we would have licked our plates! The food came out very quickly. We were in and out in less than an hour which was good, but i tbink we were planning on spending a little more time at dinner. I ordered a pear martini and it was super strong. They sweetened it up and it still tasted like straight vodka. But my boyfriend ordered the cranberry martini and his was perfect. I guess it depends how you like your martinis. A Preston Center mainstay, Sevy's serves parkie comfort food in an intimate, Frank Lloyd Wright-esque setting with polished wood rafters, stone accents, and warm, low lighting. The menu isn't groundbreaking, but it's all very good. I believe D Magazine awarded them best Caesar salad some years ago. Why are there so few reviews? The regulars are older than the average Yelper, but the feel is modern enough to give it staying power. read more

My father passed away two months ago; my mother is now ready to get out so back we went to Sevy's. NOTHING has changed post-pandemic. The service is above reproach, the food was as good or better as it always was. The atmosphere is still what it was pre-pandemic. Sevy's Grill is a true treasure. Our waiter Pedro treated us like queens. Sevy's is a "MUST GO" experience for young and old and those in between. My mother and I are resolved to visit Sevy's regularly going forward! WONDERFUL! We had Shrimp cakes for appetizer, Sevy's wonderful salad which we split, and our entrees were superb, I had the penne pasta with chicken, my mother had the trout. We also had dessert of peach ice cream and peach fried pie...the peaches are out of Terrell Texas and were delicious! Working in a nearby office, I have been to several business lunches and cocktail/hors d'oeuvres gathering at Sevy's and have always had a nice meal. So when I went in search of a place to hold a 60th birthday party for my spouse, I checked all the local "hot" restaurants. For private dining space, all wanted a minimum of $2000 spend (before tax and gratuity)...all the way up to $8000. So I checked out the catering/special menu on the Sevy's website, and was pleasantly surprised that the minimum was only $1300. We were anticipating a group of up to 30, so I knew that we would not have a problem in spending the minimum. We booked their cozy private room in the back of the restaurant. I met with the General Manager a few days before the dinner, and we selected the menu, the appetizers, and wines, along with seating arrangements. Everything was set. The night of the event, all was set to perfection. We had guests who had flown in from both coasts for the event, along with family and friends from Dallas. Many of the locals had been to Sevy's in the past, but not in a few years, they say. We had pre-dinner wine/cocktail/appetizer social time, then were seated for dinner. Everyone RAVED about the quality, flavor, and presentation of the meal. The only drawback was that many didn't realize that there were THREE choices for first course, because the menu only said "soup of the day" followed by "corn chowder". Most assumed that they were one-in-the-same. Lobster bisque was actually the soup of the day. And the seasonal greens were fresh and well dressed, but could have used a bit of chopping....kinda awkward eating such large leaves of greens. At the end of the night, we sat back and said that the pricing was extremely fair for the quality of the product. Sevy's isn't a "hot" or "trendy" or "NOW" place. It is a solid, warm, "old-school" and "clubby" restaurant that you really feel at home. We'll be back....in smaller (4-6) groups this time. read more

This was the best steak that I have ever had. Going in, I was unsure of what a lot of the menu meant but our server, Spencer, explained everything in terms I could understand. The steak I ordered was cooked perfectly and he even suggested a red wine that paired beautifully! My husband and I both agreed that the appetizers were great and the desert afterwards was a fantastic finishing touch. The food we were cooked was outstanding and the service we received from Spencer was even better. I would recommend this restaurant to any one who is looking for some genuinely quality food and excellent service! My wife and I had never even heard of Sevy's until seeing it on Yelp. What a disappointment. The food was not even average and they have a lot of nerve asking such high prices for such mediocre food. Nothing we had was outstanding and our bill was over $100 with tip which included no drinks, liquor or otherwise. My wife had lobster bisque which she said was average. I had corn chowder which was below average (people who thought the corn chowder was good should email me and I will send them my wife's corn chowder which blows this away and is not $8 a cup). For our entrees my wife had lamb chops and I had steak and lobster. The lamb chops came out overcooked at first and they took them back and they were cooked properly. If only they had had taste. They were covered with a sauce which tasted like a jar of marinade you find in a grocery store. I had steak and lobster. The steak was tiny, tough and covered with a sauce similar to that on my wife's lamb chops. The lobster tails were very tough and rubbery. In between the two was a huge portion of angel hair which was tasteless. All in all this was a major disappointment. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

It was our first time to Sevy's Grill, and the experience from beginning to end was absolutely amazing. Our server, Eduardo, was fantastic and we will request him on our next visit. The GM, Stefaan, also made a visit to our table to ensure our experience was the best (it was). In regard to our meal, we had the Tuna Tartare and Shrimp Cakes for our appetizers (DELICIOUS), NY Strip and Chilean Sea Bass for our entrees (INCREDIBLE), and topped it off with the Chocolate Torte and Apple Crisp with Caramel Ice Cream.
