Had an extremely unpleasant experience with this shop…read more Brought my 1990 miata in after a head rebuild, with both coolant and oil leaks. I called them on Wednesday, and they said they would likely be able to take a look on Thursday, if not for sure Friday. I left the car with them the same day, trusting that they would do this. Friday comes around and I don't hear a word from them, so I give them a call. They now tell me that they were busy and hadn't gotten time to get to it. Now the car has been sitting for 5 days (wednesday to monday) and NOTHING has been done to it, while this is my only car. On Monday they finally call me back and tell me that a bunch of stuff is unplugged and they will need more time to diagnose the issue, and asked for 4 labor hours total. I accepted this, and hoped that they would find the leak. I wait a few more days and hear no updates, so I call back just for them to say that they are now having issues with the car starting. I wait another few days (been nearly 2 weeks now) and they say the same thing. On the third week they finally tell me that they got the car to start, and that the head is fine and there was a hose that wasn't tightened all the way. This was not the case because the hose to the thermostat was not tightened when I did a radiator pressure test and coolant was leaking from the heater core pipe too. They also put a few bolts on a bracket because it was loose. I drove the car in there without brake pressure so they insisted that they NEEDED to fix my brakes otherwise I would have to tow the car out. They fix my master brake cylinder/rebleed my brakes so I have proper brakes (ebrake still not fixed even though its right there.) They then call me and pretend like the car was fixed, and test drive it, when in reality all of the leaks are still present and all they did was fix the brakes and power steering bracket. So in conclusion, I left my only car here for nearly 3 weeks and got little to no communication, and then the day they said they can release the car to me they hit me with a $1600 bill. I didn't even ask for half of this stuff and they're charging me $900 JUST FOR BRAKES LOL. When I told them I wouldn't accept this ridiculous invoice they threatened to take it all off and make me tow it home, and I literally agreed to that because of how stupid this whole situation was. So I would be towing out a car that I drove in there because they did work that I did not approve. Once they realized that they would be doing even more work to take off brake master cylinder /lines on a car they already clearly didn't want to work on they magically reduced the bill by $500. Honestly I shouldn't have even paid that but I just wanted my car back. This shop is super predatory and Chris you did me very wrong because you could tell I didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe if you have an RX-7 and you want to rebuild it this is the place but PLEASE don't send your normal cars here unless you want to pay dealership prices for half assed work. Apparently the oil leak was coming from the rear main seal but I don't believe anything they said at this point. I asked them to attach my bumper which is just a few bolts and they didn't even do that. The car still idles high too. And just for the cherry on top they accidentally sent me someone elses invoice with their full address, name, and phone number, they billed this poor guy $20,000 for an NA6. Stay far away !!

I asked Robert to service an airbag kit that was installed on a truck I had just bought. He said it needed to be replaced, and would cost about $3500. I said that's fine, and had some specific requests with regards to what I wanted done and what components i wanted installed. He ignored them all, and sold me whatever he had rotting on his shelf. I asked him for a particular switch box, he instead sold me a box he had on his shelf, which turned out to be faulty. He replaced it, then charged me for parts and labor for the replacement. Read that again. This guy's got some big ones. He also told me he was going to do a lot to stabilize my big truck, like relocate bags and shocks. I was excited, as he talked a big game about how he knows how to stabilize big trucks like mine. When I picked it up, he did none of the other work he said he would do to stabilize it, just replaced the airbag system, and charged me double what he initially quoted me. When I questioned him on this, he got defensive, confrontational, and loud. Up until this point, I really trusted him and liked him. Also, the truck sat crooked at any height, and he couldn't figure out why. He just shrugged his shoulders about it. Since the installation I've had some issues, including a faulty bag ripping less than a year after install. He won't help with any. When I called about the ripped bag he said "there's no warranty". It turns out there's a lifetime warranty, he just didn't want to do the work. He offered no support whatsoever. So basically, after you drive your vehicle out of his shop, you're on your own. I also had a random mystery plug he installed pop out of a T fitting one day, and lost all air right then and there. The fitting served no purpose, and after showing it to many other experts, he likely put it in there because he didn't have the right fitting, and plugged this one to make it work. He's a real Johnny cut-corners. To be completely fair, it's been 3 years since the install, and it has served me well, up until now. It's got a major problem, and the person who installed it and knows most about it is the last person I want to call. It shouldn't be that way. I am a mechanic, and I've learned to service and maintain the system myself. Every time I work on it, I find something else he has cut corners on. I can't recommend this guy one bit. I feel bad writing this review, which is really why it's taken me so long. I know how it is to be a custom fab specialist, most are trying their best. But this is why we review, right? So businesses like this don't get away with overcharging for sub-par work. If I didn't know how to service this thing myself, I'd be screwed.

It turned out it was what he anticipated as he has so much experience with Light trucks he could guess based on the symptoms and his expertise. We dropped my Dodge Ram 1500 at 7:30am and picked it up after work. He called and let me know everything found and repaired and how this compares to Dodge trucks and other makes! Each time I gas it, it stalls basically the drive is just weird. This is the issue from what I researched: "According to GMC forum. Our model 2015 - 2018 has a torque convertor in the transmission that isn't very good. In do time, it produce metal shaving that happens to get clogged in the transmission and when they repair it. They have to flush everything out." My husband found this place since he drives by daily and gave it a try. I don't know his name bc my husband was the one but he said he was able to. Since he sounded knowledgeable about cars, we had him proceed. He was nice enough to extend the warranty too! The price... uh pricey...I must say! Basically, a torque converter, full rebuild, and flushing out the transmission. Got my car back in a week in a half- Which is pretty fast! My husband said the drive is so much better! Made an appointment online with a description of an on-going overheating problem I was having with…read moremy 68 cougar. Was emailed back with a description of what would be looked at as part of the diagnosis, as well as an estimate. Had the car dropped off on a Wednesday and by Friday afternoon, got an email / text that the car was done, with a copy of the work that was completed and the bill. Geoff also let me know that he would have the shop open on Saturday, so I could pick up the car. When I arrived we went over what they found and the repairs that were made and they had performed a solid road test and the car stayed at operating temp. Drove the car back home and the engine temp stayed right where it should even sitting in traffic and stop lights. Took the car Saturday night to a car show in town and it ran great (actually runs better than it ever has after it came out the Driven Garage) and the engine temp stayed right where it should. I am so happy that I get to enjoy the car in the heart of the season of cars and coffee and weekend meet and greets. Geoff also took the time and showed me around the his new Hayward shop and all the projects in progress. This shop is busy, he stated that during the week he has over 10 technicians / mechanics employed. We also discussed re-wiring the whole car (next project) and wrote me an estimate.
