Great Bike Shop in the West Covina area. Recently, I've been interested in buying a road bike and was scouting to check out some bike shops in my area. After doing some research, I decided to stop by SGV bicycles about a month a half ago. At the time, I had no idea what I wanted but Henry, one of the owners, was nice enough to explain different types of bikes to me. But since the bike that he suggested wasn't in stock at the time due to the port strike, I wasn't able to try out the bike that he recommended. Fast forward to two weeks ago after I checked out at least 6 more bike shops in my area and even in LA and Santa Monica searching for the best road bike for my needs and budget, I found myself back again at this shop. I got a call from Zoe two days prior to my last visit letting me know that they received the bike that they recommended before. I came in a little bit after they opened and we got started with a whole lot of conversation about the bike and even other things. Zoe and Henry were extremely hospitable and accommodating. Even though they made me very comfortable with no pressure to buy the bike, I ended up buying it that day because it was exactly what I wanted after searching for a month and half. Also, they gave me really great deal and even gave me cool freebies! Henry was also patient in arranging my bike to make me feel comfortable while riding it. Overall, I had a great experience at this bike shop. Only thing is you don't get to test drive the bikes so make sure to do that somewhere else. I do not recommend ordering a bike through SGV. I ordered a bike on Saturday, I received a notification from them that it was on it's way, to be shipped Monday. It is now Thursday and it it still has not left the warehouse. I tried contacting them by phone and email, but I didn't get a reply. They finally emailed me back after I asked for a refund and their reply was a single sentence long telling me it had shipped. There was no explanation for why it hadn't shipped. I'm sure that if I hadn't sent multiple emails to remind them that I had actually paid for one of their products they would have never sent it out. I was going to upgrade some parts on my bike and I was going togo through SGV, but I will look elsewhere now. Finally, I understand that mistakes happen, but what I object to is the total lack of customer service. If I'm given any explanation for why this happened, I will update this review, but in the meantime, I strongly advise you to look somewhere else. read more

If I could give SGV negative stars I would. I have never come across a more unprofessional group of sales people in my entire life. Their website states that you should expect to have a tracking number within 24 hours of your purchase..with the times being the way they are right now (COVOID-19) I understand a delay or even an email saying that shipping and processing is slower than usual...nope. It has been almost a week now and I am still waiting on a tracking number. Totally fine..figured I would try reaching out via email. Two emails later...no reponse. I called 3 times and spoke to someone once who said "yea you'll have a tracking number by 5PST." Over 24 hours after that call still nothing. At this point I think I just threw 229 bucks down the drain and I have been scammed out of my money. Can't even ask for a refund because guess what....THEY NEVER RESPOND TO YOU. Here is a tip for anyone else looking for a bike...steer clear of SGV and drop the extra hundred or so one a retail store that actually cares about its customers. read more

Me and my family went here for the first time today and we were thrilled with the experience. I was looking for a single speed road bike but I didn't know much more then that and they helped me through the process. I knew that being 6'4, it is a hard size to find a large frame but they did have a few different colors to choose from. They also have tons of customizable parts. After reading several reviews about SGV bicycles, I was hesitant to purchase my bike from them. I am glad I did though. We had a couple of issues with the shipping company, but the employees at SGV were very understanding and made sure I received my bike in perfect condition in Texas. Very good bike store! **HIGHLY RECOMMEND** The owners are VERY nice people. You don't feel any pressure to make any sudden purchases.( some bike stores have attitude, SGV Bikes does not ) They answer every question with GREAT detail. They have a nice selection of bikes and parts. They chat with you as a fellow cyclist instead of just another customer. They tell you what they like and what they don't like about products. We bought two complete leaders, VERY smooth transaction. I let them know we were on our way and they had the bikes ready in an hour!!! Henry and his sister: two of the most nicest, most helpful, most courteous, and most importantly, most knowledgeable people you could hope for when purchasing a bike and any bike accessories. Even on the phone and via emails, they maintained the same high level of customer service and professionalism. Walked in, they gave me their undivided attn and answered all my questions, even the dumb / obvious ones (Im relatively new to Fixed Gear Riding) without making me feel discouraged, or reminding me that Im a novice rider. So chill and best place to buy bikes and bike parts. I'd go to a different bike store and just for a tube would be like 7 bucks! SGV Bicycles has great, affordable fixed gear bikes and parts. I come with my friends often to hang out outside and buy some parts. They have a solid location now not their house so people who say they sell at their house, not anymore! They are friendly and have a mature sense of humor. Bought my bike there a couple months ago and nothing is wrong with it. In fact, its running as great as when I purchased it. So after a lot of online researching, reviews, videos, and returning the cheap Walmart bike I bought for $200 - I came to the conclusion that SGV bicycles had the best reviews and customer service I love to see especially when it comes to smaller businesses like a bike shop. I live in Orange County but I was willing to drive anywhere if it meant getting some help/feedback on purchasing the bike I want and getting great service along with a great overall buying experience. I called up the shop and spoke to Henry, the owner and he was so helpful over the phone, guiding me on the options and what was available, pricing, and said could even have the bike all assembled and ready to go that afternoon. So at 2pm I make my way up to the shop, and after still making a few final tweaks and adjustments on seat height, type of handlebars, etc - I rode out on my first official road track bike - I got the Throne Tracklord 2 - 2018 model in all black colors, it looks so sleek and fast. It is very light, easy to handle, comfortable, and Henry even offered to throw in a freewheel for me ALONG with the fixed gear so I could switch between the two! His wife (so sorry my apologies your name is slipping my mind right now) was beyond nice, helpful, and so eager to make me and my girlfriend feel welcome at the shop. It was a great place to visit and pick up my new bike which I hadn't rode a bike since I was a young kid I'm now 36 years old.....I can't say enough good things about SGVBicycles, if you're looking for a great shop that will help you out in picking your next purchase, give them a call and let them earn your business. After some online browsing and a couple not-so-good visits to shops in the Pasadena area, I brought my wife here to check out a couple bikes she was interested in. After looking at their stock pretty thoroughly (no pressure from the staff!) she fell in love with one and we brought it home. While she was shopping I was also doing a little looking for myself. After I didn't see anything on the floor that was a good fit (I'm 6'6" and picky) they asked what I was looking for and came out with a used Specialized that was a stunner. Exactly what I was looking for! They said come back the following week and it will be clean, tuned up, and set up just how I asked. Sure enough I picked it up the following Saturday and I have to say it's more than I could have expected. Absolute butter. I can't recommend this shop enough. It might be a little off the beaten path, but it's totally worth it for the low-key, totally professional service. We now have two bikes from them and couldn't be happier. read more

Very disappointed. When I found the SGV bicycles online I was exided from the designs an choices. Ordered and paid my first fixie hoping to be able ride it very soon. Here I'm week later no bike waiting to get my money back. After countless times to try to reach them on the phone and email. (Nobody picks up the phone befor 2.00 pm or after 4.00pm). I was the one who call them to ask to send me the order confirmation and tryed to get over the extras that I ordered. Without my active approach I would still wait for something that would never come. After my last phone call I just gave up. Realized that my order was not filed and I have to pay the bike again(have a confirmation from my bank that they received my payment). No apologies just an answer on my comment that I was expecting to take the bike on trip this weekend with my friends:..."that's not gonna happened". read more

Do not order from this company. They will keep your money if they don't have merchandise in stock and you have to cancel your order. On March 29th, SGV notified my daughter that the bike she wanted was on a 4 week backorder via email. She emailed back her desire to cancel the order. SGV emailed her back on March 29th saying that they would cancel the order. After waiting more than 2 weeks, I called on April 18th and was told the refund had not been processed but left in pending in error and was promised that it would be processed that day. I was a loyal customer to these people ( i didnt mind driving from LA to SGV to purchase even though Orange 20, Echo park Cycles are near my home) but one day i let them know i was gonna purchase a Deep V wheelset and they said they would have it the next day i drove & got to their HOME (because this place isnt a shop it's a house) and when i got there they didnt have my order and i had to wait 2 hours to get it. A couple of months later i wanted to sale my wheelset so i had only one picture of the wheelset and i remembered i had saved one of their website pictures of the wheelset before i bought them so i put that picture up aswell. They immediately contacted me via text urging me to take down the picture only after we texted did they inform me that THEIR WEB-SITE STATES NO ONE CAN USE THEIR PICTURES i let them know i was a loyal customer who had bought many things from them and i just wanted to sale my wheelset ( The exact one that was on that picture) they didnt care they demanded i take the pic down. i urge people not to buy from SGV because i believe that if you have loyal customers why would there be a probelm with them using a photo? its just a picture and your gonna act childish about it ? not cool. If you are from LA or anywhere else please save your gas and go to your local bike shops. San Gabriel Valley is a boring deserted place any way. Everytime i would go there, there was nothing to do and i rarely saw any fixie or bike riders there. If the people you buy your merchandise from do not appreciate you as a customer then screw them. i even told friends about SGV telling them they were a cool place to buy supplies from but now they know not to go there again. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SGV, go to your local bike shops Echo Park Cycles, Orange 20, Bicycle Kitchen. these places have everything you need and at reasonable prices. DONT WASTE YOUR GAS LA PEEPS. most of their bikes are restored but really old, my friend bought a Centurion frame from them ( centurion is a really old brand that dosent exist anymore and his seat post screw broke the next day (it was pretty funny) SGV gets an F for fail. read more

Usually I'm not a person make a single star. But this shop is so terrible and I need to warn before you buy something from this shop. I bought a fixed frame, but they sent me wrong size and they didn't admit it. When I showed them the proof of their mistake, they said it was not theirs, it was the manufacture's fault. And finally they stopped to reply me and gave up their responsibility. They attempted to hide the truth to avoid returning the products. It was fraud and the most worst dealer ever I had. They had no knowledge of bicycles at least the frame geometries. Do not use this shop unless you want trouble. read more

I ordered a frame from the online store and it arrived on time, but it showed up with a bent head tube. When i called them about a replacement they told me it was the shipping companies fault and to file a claim with them which i did the next day. UPS came by to pick up the frame and give it back to SGV. UPS told me that they were not able to refund my money and that SGV was responsible for that. After four months of phone calls and arguments the thieves at SGV finally gave me a refund. I'd recommend paying a little more money for a lot more customer service.
