New favorite AYCE hot pot spot! My husband is a huge fan of Swish Swish, which is down the street from here, but last night I convinced him to try a new hot pot spot, and we were so happy we did! What we like about both these spots, is that you get your own personal hot pot and then having soup base options! Parking: There is free 90 min parking in the garage the restaurant is attached to. We found street parking. Waitlist: they have a virtual waitlist. We kept an eye on the wait time, and eventually added ourselves to the waitlist around 6:30 PM and they wait was 30 min. If you have 6+ ppl, you can put in a reservation. There's a 90 min time limit, and they will remind you of it. We ordered: - the AYCE House Meats, which was about $35/person - Sukiyaki soup base (sweet soy broth) - Original soup base - spicy miso I got the Sukiyaki and really enjoyed the soup base! I thought it was super flavorful. I love the buffet style veggies and fish cakes. They had a great sauce bar too. The meat is AYCE but you have to order more from them, and I couldn't even get through the first round of meats! The only cons I can think of: Swish Swish has a roe fishball I really like, that this place did not have. Missing mushroom in the veggie bar, and Cody says there was not a huge variety at the buffet, but I thought there was. Then to top it off, they serve soft serve at the end! Food quality was ok got the premium set but after the first round they said the xtra rich beef was sold out... how convenient and it wasn't even busy inside, also charged xtra 3% for paying with a credit card times must be tough if they have to make the customer bite that after paying $100 before tip for 2 people read more

For how often I come to shaburina, I try not to do repeat reviews as they start to all sound a bit alike however, this visit definitely deserved yet another 5 stars Staff- always beyond friendly and attentive. What I appreciate about their staff is that they are observant and check up on you at the right times. They don't overdo it to a point when it becomes intrusive yet, as you get down to your last tray of meat or last sip of drink, they're on their way over to you. First time meeting their server Solomon, and he was an absolute gem! So friendly and personable that I had to ask for his name to include him in this review Food- always consistently fresh and just as important, well presented and kept clean!! Anytime there is a buffet within a restaurant, the staff's attention to detail is glaringly obvious, and shaburina knows how to keep things presentable Interior- ditto to the comments made about their food, their restaurant is always kept clean, bright, and their playlist is full of the best early 2000's throwback that I always find my shoulders shimmying while I eat (and if your a 80's kid, you'll find yourself playing "guess that song" throughout your meal!) A quality hot pot restaurant where you get your own broth pot and all-you-can-eat beef for 90 minutes. You basically choose your all-you-can-eat option and broth, then are welcomed to use the buffet bar for veggies, noodles, seafood, meatballs, and sauce mixes. The premium option gives you Wagyu beef which is probably the best option to get. You definitely get your money's worth when doing this, especially, if you eat more of the meat than the stuff at the buffet bar. There are 4 broth options, pick whichever you like. I do the original cause I haven't been here enough times to remember what that's like. The sukiyaki and the spicy broth are some of my friend's favorites. The buffet bar has a good amount of options to add into your hotpot. Just be careful not to go over bored, else you'll get full from eating that stuff when you paid good money for the beef. It was easy for my friends and I to go too hard on the buffet, so don't make the same mistake like us. At the end of the meal, they offer soft served ice cream for desert on your way out. It's a nice touch and a cute surprise to keep the customers in a good enough mood to want to come back. Hotpot isn't my favorite meal, but this place offers a good experience and service that I don't mind having hotpot as much. This says a lot coming from me. So Shaburina is good in my book. read more

The food here is generally pretty great quality. The hotpot self-service bar is always well stocked and well cared for. I like the spread that they have with the accompaniments of noodles, veggies, fish cakes, and the great sauce bar. My big complaint here is the equipment upkeep. Every time I have dined there at least one heater at my table is malfunctioning - as in completely cold. And at least one other heater will be underpowered - to the point where it can barely heat up the vegetables. So it seems like on every visit, we're wasting 30 minutes dealing with equipment issues. I have eaten there at least 5 times so it's not a probability fluke. Hopefully management will spend a little effort to get better performing and more reliable equipment. read more

I was craving hot pot while visiting a training session at Microsoft and found this gem not too far from Element. This place didn't disappoint! The Original Kombu broth is freaking delicious. Each sip is full of flavor. As far as the meat, you pick either the Premium or House Course. Not a huge selection since they are a set. The House Course I order came with 2 different beef and 2 different pork. All thinly sliced and fast to cook. Then you have access to the entire bar are with great looking greens and a good selection of hot pot ready seafood. They also have a small sauce bar. Overall, great place to have hot pot. One of the more elegant and classy hot pot places I've ever been to! My best guy friend and I went Friday evening and of course, it's best to prepare and put yourself on the Yelp waitlist bc the wait will be long! I think I had placed myself on the waitlist around 5-5:30pm and we didn't arrive until 7:15-7:30pm. Eventually we got seated around 7:45pm-7:50pm. They have an area where it's a bar setting. Our server was fast but kind enough to explain the broth selections, meat selections and drinks. AYCE comes with 2 meat selections; 1) premium Wagyu meat with 4 kinds (beef & pork) or 2) house meat with 4 kinds (beef & pork). We were celebrating so Wagyu we chose! The meat is not frozen, like most hotpot places where the meat is rolled up. This one was placed on square serving plates and tasted very good. This place has a buffet style bar for hotpot where you choose seafood, veggies and sauces! I love a good sauce bar! We left super stuffed and FULL. Don't forget to get a soft serve ice cream, totally free. It's a lemony flavor soft serve so pretty unique. read more

Not really worth coming here unless you're part of a larger group. They do a pretty good job of making it clear that they don't really care unless they can make at least $300 off of your table. I get it, why give a couple willing to spend $100+ on soup the same level of service as a party willing to shell out a few hundred more. It starts when you show up and ask for a table. Doesn't matter how many open tables there are, if you have 3 or less people you will have to wait for one of the 5 bar seats they have to open up. It's better to leave a real table open in case a group of 4 comes in. Then once you do get one of those seats be ready to keep chasing down staff for service. We were constantly trying to flag people down for things like water, to get our order placed, to get refills on broth/meat. Really the only time they seemed to be in any kind of rush to talk to us was when they decided it was time for us to pay and leave so that they could sit others. All in all, we spent over $100 on two bowls of soup and 2 servings of the thin meat (that's all we could get since employees were too busy with the larger tables.). Again, not worth it unless you're going as a large group worthy of the staffs attention. You're better off going elsewhere for date night. read more

" No we don't know when it will be back, you'll have to check in yourself." I asked I can use the gift card if I brought it today. "No, we're don't allow that on the same visit." I asked what constitutes as "same visit, and you can probably guess what they said next. It's ridiculous that they can take $100 of my money immediately but I somehow can't spend any part of it. Try to get reservations in advance, this place is always busy! There is a retail parking garage within the same building. We arrived a few minutes before 5pm and there was already a line forming outside but we got seated right away! This is my favorite hot pot I've tried so far in the Seattle area. I'm less of a fan of the aromatic soup bases that you'll find at other places, so the original flavor here and the sukiyaki are my preference. I always order the standard level for meats and they are pretty solid quality. I really like that they don't charge for all the extras: tofu, noodles, seafood (frozen), etc. The custom dipping sauce bar is also a favorite of mine. For dinner it comes out to $52 including tip. The servers are great, constantly checking if you want more meat and clearing plates out of the way. A solid shabu shabu place. If not for the price tag, I'd probably give it 5 stars. The buffet bar had a bunch of my favorites - corn, quail eggs, rice cakes, oyster mushrooms, and kabocha. Weirdly no tofu skin though. I also really like tripe in my hotpot which wasn't an option here. I liked the broth I got - spicy miso, although I'm not sure that I would've liked the other options. Didn't seem like any of the broths were meat based which is surprising. Sometimes with places like this, the waiters take a while to come around and ask for any additional orders but the service here was maybe the most impeccable I've seen for any ayce place. All finished dishes got taken so swiftly and I never had to wait long at all for anything. read more

Never going back. I tried shaburina last night because happy lamb was too busy and I can say im never going back. I chose the tomato soup base and it was so thick I had to dilute it with water. I then asked for a difference soup because it was still so bad. My second soup was the spicy miso which was even worse. It was so bland. My bf who got the sukiyaki said his broth was too sweet. Our first plate of meat was so tough and chewy that our teeth were hurting. I was so disappointed by the soup and first round of meat that I didn't even want to eat the rest. Shaburina is a MUST GO TO for AYCE hot pot in Seattle. 2 words... Unlimited wagyu. If that isn't reason enough for you to go here, then I don't know what is. But really though, our experience here for our lively party of 13 on a Saturday night was amazing. Our waiter, Solomon, and the manager really took the time to make sure our group had a great experience. The majority of our group was visiting from Houston, TX. Houston has quite a few hot pot places so our expectations were pretty high, but Shaburina didn't disappoint. Amazing service. Big selection of vegetables, meat, noodles, etc. And bomb vanilla soft serve to finish it off. 10/10 would recommend to others visiting in Seattle! read more

First time visiting and I wondered why I had never been here before! Although the meat is ordered off the menu only, it is AYCE and they have a buffet bar for all misc items like veggies, noods, and seafood. Pretty happy with this because that means I get to take all the quail eggs that my heart desires. My only complaint is that with a table for four, it does get pretty crowded since everyone has their own individual hot pot and all the plates are kinda big. Service was super friendly though, and ice cream at the end was deliciously refreshing. Free garage parking in the same building. Next time I come back I will be sure to come hungrier lol read more

I never need to ask my wife what food shes in the mood for because the answers always AYCE hot pot and Shaburina is among the best wev had anywhere. Its a bit pricy and a long wait without a reservation but top tier food and service. The hostess went out of her way to help us out despite a huge crowd waiting 45min and our waiter was funny and attentive. You each get your own pot of broth instead of a split shared pot. I got the kombu and she got sukiyaki. You pick between the buffet which has alot of fresh interesting veggies, noodles, dumplings, and various seafood, house meats which we added on, and the highest tier with added wagyu and kurobuta meats. I was very happy with the meat quality at the house level and they dont hesitate to keep bringing out more racks of meat. Drink wise they have good beer, soju which i went with, and sake but no cocktails. The garage next door has free parking if you can find it but they probably get alot of walk ins from all the nearby apartments and Microsoft campus across the street. read more

I have had 5/5 experiences in the past, but today the meat was not a good quality and it definitely made a difference in the entire experience. It was dry, tough and lacked the flavor and fat marbling that I experienced in the past. Japanese hot pot! Shabu shabu restaurant in Redmond that i have been meaning to try for a while. Went AYCE option of course! After picking your broth (went with original kombu base) you pick either premium or house meat options. Went with premium which gives you rich wagyu, lean wagyu, rich kurabota pork and lean kurabota pork. Not suprisingly i liked the wagyu options the best and proceeded to only re order the rich wagyu and skip further kurabota pork refills. The buffet style ingredients bar is great and has assorted veg, all manner of mushrooms, variety of frozen fish cake and an assortement of noodles. In general, the flavors are not as intense as chinese style hotpot but still good and our server was great! It can get crazy busy here so be prepared to wait or have a few other dining options in mind in case you dont get seated! They only take reservations for 6 or more guests so maybe squeeze in that extra friend to come along! There is a way do join the waitlist on the yelp app if you have a smaller group i believe so you can get on the list sooner. read more
