Double Espresso

Oh WOW this place is beautiful. We came for lunch on a post-snowstorm Tuesday afternoon. After walking in, we were greeted by the host and the manager - both incredibly nice and helpful. Once we were seated at the bar (always our preference), I noticed that both the bar and dining areas are beautifully appointed. The bar's lounge area was very welcoming and the chairs looked like we could stay there for hours. We just might when we come back!! Our bartender greeted us with a smile and menus - from there, we ordered a Juice Bomb (IPA), and the Martini Rinaldi (vodka-gin martini). Let's just say I'm ruined for martinis forever and will ALWAYS want this martini. It's a perfect martini ... and I will fight anyone who tries to convince me otherwise. As far as food goes, we shared the Zucchini & Eggplant Chips. SO much food for just an appetizer (highly encourage sharing). Really flavorful chips, served with smooth tzatziki (nicely done!). Husband had the Bourbon Burger (lunch special). Properly cooked burger (med rare), juicy burger, good flavor, great ratio of burger to sauces/toppings, not overly messy but just right, and the fries were double-fried so they had that perfect crunch quality. I had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich (also a lunch special), and I have to say (again), the BEST chicken sandwich I've ever had. Beautifully crisped chicken, cabbage slaw, homemade pickles, chipotle mayo were perfectly flavored, seasoned, and balanced. It's like the perfect bite in an entire sandwich and doesn't leave your hands super messy. The sandwich is typically served with fries but I chose the house salad and it was a nice burst of freshness from a rich sandwich. That dressing is delish!! Overall... this was the kind of lunch that's WELL worth the 90 minute drive (because that's exactly what we did... haha). The Executive Chef (John Malone) is a talented individual and this place is a true Diamond on the Hudson. As a side note ... the real show-stopper is the views of the Hudson River. I couldn't get a proper picture - you'll just have to trust me. Can't wait to come back!!

Food (5/5): Wowww, this place has such good portions and delicious food. I ordered the ribeye steak and it came in a large cutting board with beans and potatoes au gratin. We also got apps like the garlic shrimp and calamari which were delicious. Some of my friends ordered lobster tail, scallop, short rib gnocchi and seafood pasta. They all said they're super delicious. Service (5/5): Service was top notch and super friendly. Food came fast, servers had great and friendly attitude, they took photos for us and overall amazing experience. Checked up on us a lot too. Ambiance (5/5): Beautiful restaurant with great views of the water and tons of seating. The view of the waterfront, and bridge were all so nice. Interior looked fancy with tons of seating.

I was visiting for work and we selected this place. It didn't disappoint at all! The atmosphere lighting and staff were great for an evening dinner with coworkers. The food was also very good. They give you warm buttered rolls when you sit down with two different types of butter. It was very good. The views of the Hudson River and trees changing colors in the fall topped it off. I will be back for the food and views soon. Would recommend if you are looking for a nice place to host.

This place has a great view if you like the water views! The interior is also gorgeous. It's a bit fancy so you definitely do have to dress on the nicer side. Menu options are limited and somewhat pricey. I ordered the chicken Milanese which essentially is just a chicken cutlet and it was $38! I think you're paying for the view. We also ordered the garlic shrimp for appetizer which was a decent size to share for 2 people and it was tasty. Service was good. Appetizer/Dinner for two, and 2 drinks, $168.

Always a good time dining for sunday brunch at Shadows! Everyone is friendly & attentive from the time you walk through their doors. Alot of upcoming menus/events coming up for the holidays. Today was a beautiful view of the dusting of snow on the mountains.

Is this a good place for an anniversary dinner and is it as nice once it gets dark out no?

I personally wouldn't recommend it Mitch. The scenery is the only pretty thing about it, especially at night. So if you'd like to go for the scenic view, eat at home and then go at night to see the view and grab a drink at their bar. Their bar is… Read more

I love this place!…read more We came here for a comedy show on Saturday and decided to try some of their food. I went with the Shrimp cocktail and the shrimp used were just perfect! I am always scared when ordering shrimp cocktail due to the fact some establishments use crap grade shrimp, well not this place, they were spectacular. I believe many of the chefs I read graduated from the Culinary Institute of America which is located extremely close to this restaurant, and this could be part of the reason why their food game is on point. My girlfriend got the beef stew, and they gave ample portions of meat with delicious gravy and the mashed potatoes were nothing to sneeze at either. I got a couple Jack and Diet's and the upcharge for a double is not that bad, at the time of writing this I believe it is a four-dollar upcharge. Also got a merlot and it was fresh and delightful. If I lived closer to this place, I would be here all the time. There are several colleges near here, so I assume the vibe is great as well if you are looking to come and have a good time. The train station literally shares there parking lot so if you plan on partaking in a good time with drinks and spirits it would be a good idea to just train it over. As always people SYOY, and if you live even remotely close to Mahoney's, visit often for me! Cheers!!

The views in the Hudson Valley are literally breathtaking from almost every angle of every city. My Wife and I have both had Farmers and Chefs bookmarked in Yelp for quite some time, so finally heading over was so exciting. It was a beautiful day so we headed to the patio. Love the indoor/outdoor bar area. I ordered a dirty martini. Made perfectly. We shared the Farmer's Wings, oysters on a half shell and a mixed green salad with Goat Cheese, soooooo good. My Wife also went with the Salmon & garlic mash served with green beans. Hella Good. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Our server, a very kind gentleman, who's name a cannot remember made our experience even more incredible by going above and beyond to direct the umbrellas just so that the sun wasn't in my Wife's eyes and our view of the walkway wasn't blocked. Amazing. I look forward to your next dinner at Farmers and Chefs and implore you to get your butt there soon. Cheers, The Happy Hour Huntress

We sat outside and it was mostly pleasant, aside from some pesky mosquitos -- citronella candles or similar would be helpful to have on the tables. I got the 50/Cut Burger on a bed of mixed greens (no GF bun option), and it was super tasty albeit slightly overcooked. The shoestring fries were also good. The Negroni I ordered had a good balance of flavors but I always prefer a big rock of ice vs. chipped ice, which waters down the drink too fast. But they supplied a legit Luxardo cherry, and that certainly elevated the experience. The service was fast & friendly. I enjoyed it, and would return to try some of the other menu items.
