This was my first dueling pianos experience - and it did not disappoint! On piano #1 was Mark - and on piano #2 was Sean, playing to a PACKED HOUSE on a Saturday night. The performers brought a ton of energy and talent to the show. This is a high-energy and interactive production. The songs are picked by you - the audience - but performed skillfully by the pianist/singers. They keep the energy high, mitigating any slow songs or vibe killers. IN other words, dueling pianos has all of the fun of karaoke night, but without the bad (slow songs, lame singers, etc.) I had a front row seat right next to pianist Mark. He is very skilled, and a master multi-tasker, fielding requests, handling money, managing apps. Best performances of the night for me were "Golden" (from K-Pop Demon Hunters) sung by Sean, and NY, NY - Sinatra performed by Mark. I enjoyed when Mark passive shamed the customers who paid $100 for them to perform a Phish song. Loved the drummer also! Sound, stage, and lighting were all very professionally done. Food/beverage service was very good. I enjoyed a cold Hazy Little Thing IPA and Johnny Walker Black on the rocks. read more

We had THE best time. Highly recommend a night out listening to this duo. They specifically are playing hits from the 70s-90s, with a few early 00s in there. No modern hits, so don't expect that. I experienced two performers from this company at a recent fundraiser In Park Ridge , NJ. They were truly sub par. The vocals went from okay to downright unpleasant. They didn't play entire songs and their banter was unintelligible. The female performer began chiding the crowd for not bringing up more money and making requests, after which she played with a sour expression on her face. The male performer started playing some upbeat tunes that brought folks to the dance floor, but the donations basically stopped altogether. Another anttendee apologized to me for the lackluster night She said the performers from the same company the prior year were fabulous, which is why they had a huge turnout that evening. How embarrassing for the event organizers! People paid good money for a lousy time and will probably think twice before attending another fundraising event for this club. read more

I booked a private show with a single performer for my 30th birthday party recently and our guests absolutely loved it. The performer, JD, was able to take a wide range of requests (Billy Joel to Britney Spears to Hamilton) and delivered a show-stopping performance. Furthermore, he had great crowd work, even letting some braver individuals come up and sing. When my friend and I arrived, Mark speed-walked us to our seats and rushed us unnecessarily -- nearly twenty minutes before the show even started. That initial attitude unfortunately set the tone for the rest of the night. Sean, on the other hand, was the highlight of the show. He's talented, genuinely funny, and has an impressive vocal range. Honestly, Sean could carry the show with a new bandmate -- the guest performer who joined for one song would be a great fit. Mark, however, comes across as a textbook "bro." He fills the space with obnoxious, crude jokes that aren't remotely funny, rushes through songs requested by women, and responds to them with open rudeness. While he can play the piano, his singing falls flat, both literally and figuratively. A few examples of his misogyny stood out: when a song referenced a woman asking for the same kind of intimacy men often expect, he mocked it and said, "What do we do in this moment, fellas? Stall!" Yet he also made jokes about women giving men those same favors. The double standard was blatant and made the room uncomfortable. And during Bohemian Rhapsody, before one of the "MAMAAA" lines, he threw in, "I had sex with your__." The "yo mama" humor is beyond outdated -- lazy, low-effort, and totally lacking in tact, talent, or wit. Overall, this show seems geared toward the bros and the pick-me's rather than anyone expecting humor or talent with a bit of class. Sean, though, deserves real credit. Couldn't believe the high notes, the Elton John covers, and the intense fiddle playing -- and to top it off, he's a giddy and rather humble man. Thanks for not being a bro, Sean. I'm sure you'll do just fine. His personality makes it so he can work the chops. ‍ read more

We've been to Shake Rattle & Roll in the Hilton and loved the show so much that we just had them do a private event for my wife's 40th birthday party, and it was phenomenal. Mark and Matthew were both great, the singing and music were obviously awesome, but Mark's sense of humor, ability to engage with the audience really made it spectacular. Only one bartender as well. We had to grab our own menu, ask for water for the next table and went to the bar to get our own drinks. If you're going to sell tables, make sure you have more than one floor staff. This sours everything else, doesn't even matter if the music is good. The drinks are not. read more

We had a birthday party for my husband and mother in law in January at a winery in Virginia. We cannot say enough good things about Shake, Rattle, & Roll dueling pianos. Mark and Sean really can play to ANY crowd. They had the crowd up dancing from 80 years old to 3 years old. They played "grown up" music as well as Disney music.
