17th St. finally has a legit burger joint. All the noise about the prices is overblown. This is 2024, the world just costs more. And the constant In-And-Out comparisons are tiresome. Bottom line is ShackShack burgers at ~$9-$11 are fantastic. Bigger doesn't always mean better. Big bonus is their shakes, god they are solid. All the food was cooked to perfection, fries crispy as were the rings. Milk Shakes were fresh and cold. Took my grandkids and everything could not have been better. My boyfriend and I visited this Shake Shack location for the first time and were excited to try it. We both got double shake shack burgers and received the food fairly quickly. After my boyfriend's very first bite however, he pulled something from out of his mouth that should not have been inside anybody's food; it was a cockroach leg. We confirmed this after googling pictures to compare. I did not get the chance to take a picture of the leg because we were both disgusted and lost our appetites completely, but I reported it to a staff member who inspected it and apologized. The restaurant gave us two $5 cards to redeem whatever we'd like in the future at a Shake Shack location, as well as replacement burgers and fries, but my boyfriend and I feel that these cards and replacements are not able to shake off the disgust we felt (and still feel) as a result of what happened. Terrible customer service, I waited 20 minutes for 1 burger, fries and a shake. There were two female hispanice workers there that were so rude. I saw that my order was ready and tried to get their attention. They ended up letting it sit on the counter while they called out the next two order. I said excuse I think that's my order, she yells "wait a minute as she moves my food to the rack" so I ended up looking at it to confirm and I grabbed it and the two looked at me and rolled their eyes. Bro i asked for a patty melt and they gave me a literal patty with nothing else. They forgot straws, and may bbq sauce for bbq fries. Bad experience for the opening. Ordered an avocado bacon burger and they didn't put avocado on it. They made me another burger but then there was not lettuce or tomato on either of them. I wanted to try Shake shack here in California. I have tried shake shack in Texas and it was good. I ordered hamburger and fries. Everything on the menu is à la cart with no combos, which makes it more pricey the hamburger was just OK very average same with the fries. This place is compared to Freddie's but I don't think it even taste anywhere close to it. Don't think I would come back here overpriced and customer service is not good. read more

Just went to the new Shake shack on 17th St. The best part of it was the young man behind the counter named Nathan. He was so helpful. Just a really nice kid making suggestions on what we should order. I'd say the burgers good fries were good but there's so many burger and fry places. Been here three times. First time iwas a nightmare I ordered online because I know how busy this place gets. Get a notification that my order is ready. I see a lot of people standing around waiting for their food. I speak to the person handling take out orders and they tell me my order is being bagged just a couple mins. Ok. Well 10 orders later and 35 minutes have passed I ask if my order is ready yet, they tell me no not yet. A manager asks to see my order confirmation, I show him, he looks around and guess what, he finds it on the shelf, it had been sitting there all along. He hands it to me and I feel the fries, um yea they're cold! So is everything else. He asks if I want it remade, well yes! 45 minutes later I get my order. What a disaster, they have a lot of staff and no one knows what they're doing! Please train properly and you have a great product just train the staff to execute in a timely manner. Listen... I don't want to get too excited, but I'm also compelled to be honest. Absolutely, hands down, the best chicken nuggets I've ever had. I feel silly reviewing chicken nuggets, but hey, they were pretty spectacular. My son got a burger and it looked quite good. No complaints from him, and he was the one who told me about the chicken nuggets in the first place ... I'm like, how good can nuggets be?? Well, they're pretty damn good. Place was clean, but it's new... hope they keep it up. Staff was cool and eager to bring us the stuff we needed. Word is the shakes are epic. Guess I'll have to give one a go.
