The atmosphere is casual. You can order from a menu on the wall and then pick up your order at the other end. They have delicious chicken bites that are complimented by the honey mustard. The creamsicle float tastes similar to the cream dream push pops. read more

Despite wonderful, gracious customer service and a spacious, inviting, convenient, and family-friendly spot, the food was mediocre at best. I was excited to try this place after watching its construction. The forward design and newness almost implies there is something novel about the establishment- I was hoping for a grass fed or organic option and fancy cheese choices. The potato buns were yummy and comfort foodish and probably appealing for those avoiding gluten (not sure) so that was cool but I think today's customer, especially in an affluent area like Edina has come to expect healthy and humane from brand new establishments. Though the name "shake shack" should have been a clue that it's typical American junk food. The frozen custard, while not over sweetened, wasn't good either and made me regret the calories and money. The banana tasted like a strawberry so strawberry allergy people beware. However, the excellent staff who came out to the patio offered my dog water and a biscuit and were very attentive. The ping pong and foos ball tables were a nice surprise on the patio, but I came for lunch, not for games and good service. Food quality is foundational. read more

We came back with a $10 off coupon based on my previous review and the experience was much better. I like the burgers more than a McDonald's like burger, think more like culvers. The Creamsicle float I had again which still is awesome but I'm just a sucker for those. The place was extremely busy and the front counter service was much better. Shake Shack may not be considered fast food, but I will compare their burgers to that of competition (Five Guys, In-and-Out, Steak and Shake) speed of preparation. The original shake shack burger (with pickles and onions added) was better than all of those in the class of tier 1 fast food burger options. From the bun to the burger, cheese, and amount of shack sauce to top it off -- the ingredients are well contained, and easy to eat within it's sleeve. Additionally, I'd recommend getting their well salted crinkle cut French fries -- which are above & beyond (~9/10) when you compare them to Culver's (~6/10) or Raising Canes (~2/10). I say above & beyond average because they're crispy without asking for them to be, and perfectly salted. Throw the cheese on them if you can spare the calories...if you like cheese sauce it's pretty darn good, and compliments 'em well. The chicken bites are fire too. Comparable to Chick Fil A but the crisp is superior here at Shake Shack. Milkshakes are good, but for the price I rank them lower than Chick Fil A. All in all, I will be back again & again, and hope to see more locations open up around the Midwest! read more

I had a friend who I also do business with order food for his office staff and myself. Since he ordered on line and they do not deliver I went there to pick up the food. When you come in the door it's a bit confusing, the order line is to the left and the pick up line is straight ahead. When I made it to the pick up line I seen a gal that walked by I said excuse me and I know I was t speaking low and she kept walking and never looked at me. I then asked her when she came by again in a bit of a louder voice and she didn't stop at all. After the guy on the line gave another person their order I said excuse me and asked about my order. I told him the name is was under and he gave me the bag I thanked him and walked away. After I made it to my destination I realized they didn't give me my drink, I thought that the person that ordered the food forgot to order my drink. So I spoke with him and apparently they forgot to give me another drink that he ordered as well. I called and pressed option 2 and didn't get anyone, tried to call back again and same thing happened. While I was writing this review I received a call back from them and the phone disconnected, I called back and was hung up on. I told them on my voicemail this wasn't a good first impression. The food was good but not very warm because I had to wait so long to get someone's attention to get my food. I noticed they have most of their seating capacity outside not inside, it would be great if we lived in California, or Miami. read more

I attended this shake shack establishment earlier today, and when I ordered I received some disrespectful comments. When I was in the process of ordering, I couldn't really understand what the cashier was saying because of the mask mandate. So she repeated herself with a snarl, which left me in shock. Also when ordering I wasn't sure if there were meals so when I asked for a meal she gave me attitude and said there aren't meals. The prices are higher than average for a fast food burger ($13 for a single burger, fries, and a Coke). I might also add that the burger is small for the price. We went to Shake Shack in Florida over two years ago. It was the first time we had been to one and we really enjoyed the food. So when the new location opened in Edina this week we went as soon as possible. I had a spicy breaded chicken Sandwich and my wife had a regular burger with cheese. We also shared a small order of fries. Both sandwiches were very tasty. My wife found that the burger has the same intense beef flavor we experienced in Florida. Very very good. I usually don't like Kringle fries like what they serve but I also found the fries to be very tasty. The only thing I can say is I found the chicken sandwich to be spicier than most Minnesotans can handle so they will probably have to tone that down a bit. We liked it so much we are going again soon! read more

In my opinion, the hype over shake shack isn't overrated. The burger is good and so are the fries, but it isn't anything I haven't already had from five guys, smash burger, or my burger. I would probably go to five guys or my burger over shake shack unless I want some custard. The custard is delicious and you absolutely should go there for at least just that! read more

I've been to shake shack before and the food is pretty decent, just a tad on the more expensive side. I went again yesterday and ordered cheese fries and a shroom burger. The line was a bit long, but nothing new as it always is. They gave me a buzzer and stated that it would ring after the food was ready. Sat down and 50 minutes later I had not received my food and was getting agitated as others who came after me had already received theirs. Went up to the counter only to find out that they forgot about my order. Asked them to check up on my order and they got the burger and fries to me. My receipt was time stamped at 8 and their receipt was time stamped at 8:06, that means I should have gotten my food 44 minutes ago. I had waited 50 minutes for nothing as the buzzer never rang; I didn't even receive a sorry in return. Wouldn't come here again. read more

I ordered a smoke House burger which comes with bacon and I wanted only bacon and cheese. They charged me for a regular double burger with bacon added which is more expensive. I ordered 2 burgers and my dad's burger only had the lettuce and tomato on one side of the burger. They angle it so when it's wrapped it looks better than it is. I found this really dishonest. The really push social media so they want you to take a picture of the burger and make it so it looks good at the cost of only covering half. The burgers are good a little spendy but I would say just go to Culver's they are better for cheaper. read more

For a name such as "Shake" Shack, you would expect the shakes to be phenomenal. However, the shake was average and very small for the price. I also had an Avocado Bacon Chicken sandwich which had been delivered cold. The main thing I could taste was the bun that had been on the precipice of becoming stale and crumbling to dust, to the point that I could not finish the sandwich. Overall, I was not impressed. I have had better taste and value in a shake from McDonald's. Fries were just above room temperature and approximately five crumbs of bacon. They were also significantly overpriced and under-portioned. If they are aiming for a food cost of 10 percent, congratulations. Mediocrity achieved. read more

Went through drive thru at new Maple Grove location to try a shake. When I got my shake I thought it was a mistake and they gave me a small cup for water. It was half the size of a regular size shake not a even a large. For $5.90 plus .50 for whip cream (joke) it was less than mediocre in taste and tripled the price for what it was worth. I'd like to start by saying I have been to Shake Shack at three other locations; MOA, Kansas City, and Miami Beach. I love Shake Shack...except here. The first time, they got my order wrong and tried to serve me burnt fries, and the manager was kind and went over the top with coupons and apologies. Yesterday I was again visiting this location, ordered only a shack burger. It tasted like someone had doused the bun in bleach. Not only that, but one of the employees proceeded to sexually harass me by first telling me that my outfit was nice (that's fine), then made a sound like "Mm mmmm" and walked away. I was exiting the restaurant and he asked if I was single. I didn't reply and kept walking. As I was opening my car, he came outside and stood right in front of my car and started smoking what looked to be a thin cigar and stared me down as I was leaving. Only one employee working the counter with a line out the door, employees taking breaks in high-visibility/traffic areas, and not allowing customers the courtesy to be first at the condiment bar.
