The un-beet-able app is my personal favorite, along with the queso fundido and smashed avocados. Taco-wise, the flower power is a standout (meat-eaters, I promise you will not miss it!) and the simple chicken taco is anything but simple! Kobe cheeseburger, another hit - every time and if you are looking for a delicious salad, go for the chicken halfacado cobb - the dressing is so unique and the beet infused egg is perfect. The specials, however, are the real stars of the show. Some end up becoming permanent menu items, while others are fleeting delights that keep us coming back for more - once 3 days in a row in fact. I'm eagerly awaiting the return of favorites like the chili verde pork stew, chile relleno burrito, birria ramen, and the smashed peas with burrata. However, nothing beats the memory of the bbq pork belly fried rice, which remains my all-time favorite special. To top it all off, the revolving variations of churros are a delightful treat that shouldn't be missed and are great for sharing. The current flavor tastes like strawberry shortcake, making it a perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Overall, Shaker & Peel is a must-visit in the Tampa Bay area. Spent hundreds of dollars on dinner and a show that sadly was not gf friendly. Ran off to this place and their gf knowledge and offerings were just what I needed after hours of starving and watching others eat all night. They knew what tamari was and the flower power taco was surprisingly delicious and spicy as a vegetarian taco! My sisters and I have been twice and have decided it's our new traditional spot! The food is so good! It's a fusion of Mexican and Asian. On both occasions we ordered tacos, guacamole and margarita flights! The ambiance is fun. We sat inside at a high top our first time and the back patio the second. I've heard about Shaker and Peel from a couple people who have raved about it. I finally went for lunch with a friend and they did not lie! We took advantage of taco Tuesday. I had the chicken, grouper and shrimp tacos. I believe they were between $2.50 to $3 per taco. Each street taco was seasoned well and delicious! The service was also very good. Was in the area visiting a friend and decided to go grab a bite before catching a movie. I had the most amazing dish I've had in years. I ordered the Tangled Noodles. Unbelievably fresh and delicious doesn't do it justice. It was an explosion of flavor and crunch with an abundance of juicy chicken slices throughout. My partner had four tacos, each just as amazing as the next. My favorite was the shrimp. I will definitely go again the next time I'm in town. Their cocktails were also amazing, as was the ambiance and service. We even chatted with a manager, Brad (if my memory serves me right) about the movie we were headed to see. In the video was ordered, flower power and chicken tacos in a lettuce wrap, braised ribs and chicken tacos, quesadillas, philly cheese egg rolls, and they were so generous to also throw in two salad bowls for us! I was concerned with the distance of the restaurant to our office but the food was still fresh and hot! The courier was super helpful in setting up the trays and very nice! Stopped in for a late lunch early dinner with my son before heading to the movies. It was not crowded at 3pm so our waiter showed up immediately. Nice person quick, efficient with a good sense of humor. We ordered the Queso Fun-Dido for an appetizer. My son ordered 6 different tacos that I'm not going to list now. I ordered the Biarria Ramen. It is house made birria, ramen noodles, shaved cabbage, medium egg, pickled daikon & carrots + 2 biarria tacos. The queso was cheesy with a little spice. Very good. The atmosphere was good and I attribute it to the small crowd. They have a good Tequila selection so I can see it gett lively at night. We finished the chips and dip. Whenever I'm in Tampa I crave this spot, it's that good. They've got great drinks, fun and unique menu items, and it's all very affordable. The service has also never been bad and everyone is friendly. I will say I have yet to sit indoors even though I've been many times because in my opinion, Mexican food is best enjoyed outdoors! The marg flight is a classic option but the aire is my favorite of all four options. Other go to drink here is the paloma. Drinks are pretty strong which I prefer. The quesadilla ordered this time around was really good. the brisket was very well seasoned and the punchy flavors went perfectly with the margs. You can't come here without sampling a few tacos. It's definitely not a traditional taco spot, theres a lot of fusion. But for some reason it works! The shrimp and cheeseburger tacos are always solid but the kbbq is a favorite in my family as well. Wow, I'm honestly bummed it took me this long to visit Shaker & Peel! My friends live in Westchase and Clearwater so it was a meet-in-the-middle spot for the majority of the group. I came in from Tampa (don't recommend leaving in the middle of rush hour lol). They frequent Shaker & Peel and have raved about it but I'd never been. Our server Alex was a dream, so friendly and attentive despite getting pretty busy toward the end of the our time there. I ordered a modified quinoa taco salad w/ chicken and mentioned that I can't have Gluten or Dairy right now so I made quite a few mods to the dish. That's never fun, and I always feel really bad doing that to the server and the kitchen, but there weren't any options that fit my current dietary restrictions as is. When the food came, we laughed because the food runner called it my "allergy salad" and there was an "allergy" labeled food stick in the meal. I LOVED it. It showed me that the kitchen was intentional and that the establishment cares about accommodating their guests of any kind.
