The food is amazing and the service was amazing would recommend! If you are close to the area you should consider going

It's a long time I haven't been to Shakers I remember the food was really good. My wife was telling me the food is really she often go to Shaker with her co workers for lunch. Now my wife and I going to Shakers for early dinner. The restaurant looks the same but it hasn't changed since I was here. We step in the restaurant and right away we got seated and the host hand us the menu and waitess came to order our drinks. Then we look at the menu and see what to order my wife decided to get the Shaker Delight burger with Sweet potato fries. I decided to get the California club with fruit cup. We got to watch the open ceremony of the world series with the tribute to Fernando Valenzuela it was nice and the waitess brought us our meal. My California club look so good then I took bite it was really good I can taste the avocado,bacon,turkey and toasted wheat bread combine together wow so much flavors including the mayo so good with avocado have that creamy taste it's mind blowing . The fruit cup I decided to get instead of the fries was a better choice a healthy choice. My wife enjoy her Shakers Delight burger she great flavors she love. But she love the sweet potato fries that a dipping sauce that is so addicted the flavors was good. The staff were very friendly including our waitess she kind and friendly. read more

LOVE this place! I've only gotten takeout and delivery but am hoping to visit in person sometime. The menu is huge and varied and filled with lots of comfort food items and diner classics. My go to is their California club with sweet potato fries, but also love their Hawaiian bread French toast and yankee pot roast. I've heard it has the same owners as Canoe House down the road, which I also love. Try it out! read more

I would say Shakers is one of my favorite diners in Pasadena. I know there are not many, but this is definitely a stand out and in the top two best. Russell's being the other. It's a true LA diner in the best sense of the word and is designed like the classic diner in LA with Googie architecture and a very retro vibe. I have zero reasons to give it less than 5/5 because we truly had a great brunch. I love the design on the inside, it has tons of different seating options and I appreciated how they have two person booths. Our server was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for our 10:30 AM Sunday brunch. They also have a giant free parking lot attached in the back so parking is very easy and plentiful. They have a giant menu that is filled with all sorts of diner classics. For my first visit, I chose the Strawberry Lemonade and was very happy that I ordered it. It's just like the type that you ordered at Disneyland; it's a regular lemonade with strawberry purée added. Best part is unlimited refills. For my meal, I chose the Country Benedict, which is turkey sausage on buttermilk biscuits with gravy on top. It was very filling and very delicious and I would definitely recommend to anyone stopping in for brunch. Overall, we had a great meal and I would highly recommend to anyone in the area. read more

Shakers is a classic diner spot serving comfort food with a cozy atmosphere. The amount of people coming through are testament to what a local gem it is. You can choose to eat inside, outside or at the counter. Service was quick for the volume of people and attentive. The Blueberry pancakes are yummy. We also ordered the Meat Lovers Breakfast Skillet which was a very large portion size. I took half home. The potato's did not seemed twice baked though the menu mentions that. Two stars because the service and people working here are amazing. They also have a large parking lot with no valet or parking fee which is a plus in Pasadena. Cheeseburger with avocado and bacon lettuce wrapped- 2/10 LOVE that they offer lettuce wrapped but this burger was very under seasoned, bacon was not crispy, and avocado was not ripped. Veggie omelet with cheese - 3/10 it wasn't anything special and the hash browns were soggy. Unfortunately for me this was the first and last time I come to this establishment but the people working here are very kind and it was clean. As a Southerner, I'd say this spot is Southern approved! This is a great option for a breakfast/brunch spot. Inside is classic American diner vibes. There are lots of tables and seats, so even on a busy Sunday noon when I went, I was able to get seated pretty quickly. I ordered the country fried steak with over easy eggs and hash-browns and it was great! Nothing was soggy and the food was nice and crispy. Also nothing was dry and the gravy wasn't too overpowering. Eggs were also cooked well and the yolk was still runny. Pretty solid and filling brunch. The prices are also on the cheaper side for the large portions you get. The server serving my friend and I was pretty nice and accommodating. For parking, they do have a parking lot, but when I went it was full so I just parked on the a nearby street. read more

Hubby ordered a NY steak and it was half well done with the other half rare! Told our server who was very polite and embarrassed b/c the manager told him my hubby won't get sick. Another person came with a Hawaiian shirt who was kind and had them remake the steak. The only one who truly seem to care and apologized was the young man serving us. If I was the manager, I would have offered something to the customer for their waiting time and not to mention the inconvenience. So we arrived 5 minutes before they opened and the back door was unlocked. We proceeded to walk to the front just to be rudely approached by Lalo who I believe was the manager. Stated that they were not opened yet and rudely opened the front door and told us to get out as he pointed out towards the outside. I've been here quite a few times and they've always been really nice to me, no matter which server I've been paired with. I like their soups and usually get a cup of their daily or the veggie and beef. There's currently a turkey meatloaf with vegetables and mashed potatoes and gravy and it's my new favorite although it's a special! The roof looks cool too! Old school since 1972. Today on New Years Day before the Rose parade ending we found ourselves here ready to enjoy some breakfast. The restaurant was pretty busy and but were seated immediately. Our waitress took our order of a veggie omelet, hash browns, sough dough bread, and a side of pancakes. The food was very good and even better tasting since we were hungry. It was my first time eating at this little diner and I had a good experience. The waiter and the host were friendly and always with a smile. The ambiance was busy because I went there around 9 to 11 so a lot of people were having their breakfast but the diner is huge. And they also have outdoor patio. The parking lot is also huge so you will for sure find parking. The food was amazing I will for sure come back for the banana nut Belgian waffles they were so fluffy and moist. This review is about the bakery. We were given a packaged coffee cake for the holidays. The coffee cake is apparently made with walnuts, but the cakes packaged individually for sale are not labeled with ingredients, and are simply sold as "coffee cake". Not "walnut coffee cake". Since coffee cake is not always prepared with nuts, and walnuts being a potentially deadly allergen, it would be a good idea to put ingredient labels on the products packaged for sale, or to call it a "walnut coffee cake" or simply place a "contains nuts" sticker on the packaging. 2 kids with allergic reactions, 2 epi shots, 2 hospital visits = one very expensive gift of a coffee cake. The cake was ok, but not something I would go out of my way for. I give the cake 2 out of 5 stars. read more

This is a fun, classic diner. The family I went with had been dining at Shakers since the '80's. They've apparently been around since 1971. You're doing something right if you've made it in this town for more than 50 years. I opted for the Great Eggs Incognito (scrambled eggs smothered with zesty chili & beans, topped with cheddar cheese), which also came with hash browns and buttered toast or English muffins. This is a South Pasadena gem! I always pass by this restaurant but I never guessed it would be soo good! I came hear for breakfast and I'm glad I did. The inside of the restaurant has a log of seating for a variety of party sizes which is great for families. Even though they were busy I was seated right away. Heres what we ordered: blueberry pancakes "Country" Eggs Benedict Quiche with a side of zucchini bread The pancakes do not have blueberries in the batter but rather ate topped with blueberry compote! We didn't need syrup because it was pretty sweet but you can definitely add whipped butter and syrup. The country eggs Benedict was very hearty! I was not a huge fan of the sausage used (it had a bit of a stinky taste) but the gravy and biscuit was tasty. The biscuits were very soft and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The quiche was pretty great with the flakey crust. But I've gotta note the best part of that dish was the side that came with it....zucchini bread!! I had called Easter Sunday morning to see if they had any carrot cakes. I was lucky since there was some available. I had driven over immediately and got a carrot cake. I had seen the cake before and wanted to try it. I wasn't disappointed with the cake. It was a hit and the church Easter potluck. I made sure I got 2 slices to take home later. I had walked into the restaurant and didn't have to wait. This restaurant was one of hangout after Friday night church meeting. The restaurant has changed much except outdoor seating was added. The food was amazing we like it a lot but the service was awful and not inviting me and my bf ate here this week for the first time trying this restaurant, but as soon as I walked in the door we noticed the staff was not welcoming at all we walked in and they did not attended us quickly and assumed that we were picking up instead of leading with first to ask us if we were picking up or dinning then I said no we want to sit and eat here then the first worker or waitress said okay sure yeah just sit and wait someone else will help you then we did as we were told so then we waited for like a good 15 almost 20 mins then when they finally saw us waiting they ask us if we needed help and what we wanted and im just I can't believe they said that when I already said beforehand table for 2 and I been noticing all the staff were all moody and semi rude then we finally got seated after saying that we wanted to eat in for the 2 times they talked to me so I didn't like where they sat us and I moved and I think they got bothered that we moved then we had three different waiters attending us idky but weird it felt like they didn't want us to be in there and they were hoping we would leave but I did notice the clientele were all senior citizens and elder maybe that is why the staff was rude they are overwhelmed by the older people but that doesn't mean they can serve us any less because we are not older but I did not like the service they need to improve on every but the food food was very fresh and high quality I can tell and homemade and delicious but service was bad read more

Food was typical greasy American breakfast food, hearty with large portions, but not particularly good. My toddler loved the kid's menu, though.
