I'm still giving 4 stars because I've been coming here for over 20 years. I'm just really disappointed today. My husband was having surgery and so I had time to kill and he loves shakys pizza so I grabbed a couple pizzas one for him and myself and one for the kids. The kids is pepperoni with pineapple. When I got to the car, I had two pepperoni pizzas so I went back in and asked them if they could remake it with pineapple I didn't want them to just add pineapple and get it warm because the pineapple sugars don't crystallize the same when it's not baked with the pizza. It's not the same at that point just leave the pineapples off. That's like giving somebody a plate of spaghetti sauce and forgetting the noodles but then just bringing them raw noodle noodles So he said he would remake it. I went back out to my truck. I waited. I went back in and picked it up and it had barely been enough time for it to cook so I was surprised that it was ready. When I got back out in the truck. I opened the lid and it's just fresh pineapple on top that they probably warmed it up in the microwave or something. But this is the same pizza. Highly disappointed. read more

Five Stars for Food, Staff, and Service! OMG--what a bargain! Shakey's Pizza Buffet delivers serious value for the price. With the drink included plus the salad bar, pizza, chicken, MoJo potatoes, pasta, veggies, and more, you absolutely get your money's worth. Everything was hot, fresh, and constantly replenished, and I really appreciated that the buffet is served in small portions to ensure quality and freshness at all times. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which honestly makes the experience. You can tell they care, and that goes a long way. The food is genuinely good--not just "all-you-can-eat good," but actually enjoyable and well prepared. That said, I do hope management sees this review and takes it in the helpful spirit it's intended. The dining room and bathrooms need a deep cleaning, and unfortunately neither hand dryer works in the men's or women's restrooms, which is a health score concern and should be addressed as soon as possible. Even with those issues, I'm still giving this location five stars because the staff, food, and service are outstanding. If I were rating strictly on the condition of the building, it would be closer to a three--but the people and the food absolutely shine. I would definitely recommend this Shakey's and truly hope the management addresses the maintenance issues, because once they do, this place will be an easy all-around five-star experience. read more

Shakey's... It's definitely a little rough around the edges, but has great service, solid options, great deals and a wide open layout. The Shakey's Pizza Parlor of Palm Springs is located on Avenida Caballeros / Arenas Rd near the light at Avenida Caballeros/ Tahquitz Canyon Way. It's got a good size parking lot. An almost way to big front patio. A big dinning area, plus a smaller dinning room, full salad bar with thick cut lettuce... Definitely could do with some better chopping. A full soda station area, plus tea, beer, no wine. Shakey's also offer shakes and frozen treats. What may throw you off is after your order the buffet is directly next to the front register and leads to the "Fun Stuff" area (aka arcade/game room), where they actually have some more seating in the far corner passed a few of their out of order machines... When we first arrive this area was pretty busy, but eventually calmed down and was a ghost town compared to the rest of Shakey's. With families coming in and out of that side directly where the buffet is setup it creates a bit of chaos. Not the best design plan, but it's Shakey's... Enjoy their hot food, noodles, pizza (including create your own - just ask), mojo potatoes and more. Everything is pretty much self serve, but they do come around to clear things, as well as check on anything additional they can do. It's best to hang on to your plates as they don't really have a great system for this like some other buffet style eateries. Lots of warm open rustic cabin like feels that need some updating and TLC. Big flat screens and solid acoustics for sure for music or sports on the TV. The Bunch of Lunch all you can eat special from 11am to 2pm was/is a good deal, especially with including drinks. Truly hard to beat in 2026 and beyond (for only $20.99 currently). I had all the good veggie friendly options via the salad bar, hot sides (like corn) and more. I don't see Shakey's updating themselves anytime soon as it's more about the comfort and comfort food than the quality. Though I've seen other locations step it up... So maybe they will one day... At the very least have all their arcade games work and food items labeled with a little info. Make it personal with a little care. And when things run out or low, have someone refill/replace in a timely manner. I might stop in again for lunch, a beer or the "funcade," in hopes that all games are working. Nice fun prize center for redeeming tickets/prizes. They don't seem like they have a permanent person for this area, based on need and foot traffic. I called the day before for a group of 30 for dinner and they said they had other parties that day but that they could accommodate us too. We arrived and they had 4 other large groups but they had our table all set up for us. James was at the register and he did a wonderful job getting our orders quickly and he was very friendly and pleasant with all the commotion going on. The chicken at this place has taken a drastic turn for the worst. They are small pieces of legs and thighs more like a Cornish hen. They are way overcooked and greasy. Shakey's is a fun place --- like a 1980s era large sit down pizza parlor still at the top of their game! It's the kind of place that many of us went to earlier in life that was a community meeting place where you would see families, clubs, and birthdays. You can easily move around and change seats and serve yourself at the buffet or bottomless beverage bar. All of that still happens here- it's common to see birthday parties, multigeneration get togethers, girls night out, and adult softball players in the evening. You can stay as long as you want with no pressure to leave-- and the longtime manager often circulates just to say hello and give special treats to some of the large groups. Other staff the place very clean.. Palm Springs is full of interesting, usually high priced restaurants that are often cramped and loud-- which means if you go with a group you are stuck sitting next to just the people at your end of the table. Not here, people are commonly changing seats and getting up to talk to people in this very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of space. Shakey is centrally located with plenty of parking, spacious, plush red booths around the perimeter, a bar beer and fireplace, attentive staff many of them have been there 10 years. soft rock plays on a higher end sound system. I'm Fortunate to be able to afford to go to almost any restaurant II want, but if I just want to hang out with friends in a casual atmosphere and have fun this is where I go. read more

Very disappointed. I come here frequently and have always enjoyed great food and great service. I stopped in today to order a Firehouse Pizza, my favorite. Between the Firehouse Pizza and their amazing fried chicken, they're the only two things I order over and over. The person behind the counter said they don't offer that pizza at this location. Even though I've enjoyed it many times at this location, and told them so. I asked why they stopped offering it, as it's still on their online menu for Palm Springs. They just looked at me and shrugged, no response, no answer, no interest I guess. I took a minute to look over their menu and said, OK then, I'd like the 12" Shakey's Special with thick crust. They said we don't have thick crust right now, we're out of it. Realizing they were going out of their way to not take my money, I shrugged in frustration and left. I love the pizza not the service. I came in on Saturday May 10th at 8pm and ordered a pizza TO GO. The man at the cash register was having a bad day. He glared at me while my friend ordered. Mind you we didn't even speak to him other than placing the order. When my friend went to pickup the pizza, it was served as a dine in order. My friend reminded the staff in the kitchen the order was TO GO. Tell me why the woman in the kitchen working on this night proceeded to throw the pizza angrily into the box? Also, get angry at your coworker for not ringing that up correctly. It was prom night for local students and the place was busy. If staff cannot work under pressure I suggest looking elsewhere for employment. This has to be the worst Shakey's I've ever been to. Went to use the restroom and realized there was only 1 stall for women and 1 for men. The ladies room didn't have any toilet paper and filthy. I asked the guy behind the beer counter if he could put tp in the ladies restroom and handed me the roll. Didn't bother go see if it needed cleaning. The restaurant itself was also very dirty. No one sweeps or picks up the trash? We were sort of a large group but we all ordered out own food. Half of us got pizza that wasn't raw but not quite cooked enough. Drove 40 minutes today to get fried chicken at Shakey's Pizza parlor in Palm springs and after over 10 years of being a customer here for their fried Chicken, I was EXTREMELY disappointed at what transpired. I ordered a four-piece fried chicken meal (which is now costing $16 for four pieces!) and it is to include half a chicken which is a breast, a leg a thigh and a wing. It takes about 20 minutes for the chicken to be prepared and cooked and that's absolutely fine with me because I like it hot and fresh. However, in this case, after about 5 minutes of ordering, a clerk came out with two legs and two drumsticks which clearly he had taken off of the semi-warm buffet and tried to pass it off as fresh cooked fried Chicken. To me this was extremely offensive and upsetting. It's not convenient to get to this restaurant and when I go for this specific purpose, I'm looking forward to the fresh hot crispy fried Chicken that Shakey's is known for. How dare they try to pull the wool over my eyes with the two cheapest pieces of chicken available from a lukewarm buffet bar and tell me that it was just freshly made. When I registered my complaint very politely and diplomatically one of the ladies in the back grabbed the four pieces that she was supposed to and I saw her put them in the deep fryer and tell me at that time it'll be 20 minutes. I told her that's what I was expecting and that's what I paid for! Shame on you Shakey's I think you were trying to take advantage of a senior citizen who you presumed would not know the difference in a $16 four-piece chicken meal! read more

We go to this Shakey's every week! The pizza has a crispy crust and generous toppings, the mojos are ridiculously good, and there is a good selection of beer on tap. The ambiance is exactly what you want in a pizza parlor; 80's music playing, lots of tvs, a separate room with an arcade with tickets/prizes for kids, and lots of booths and big tables. Most importantly, the customer service is great!! All of the employees are attentive, but a special shout out to James and Scott who are always warm and welcoming!! read more
