    ITALIAN GREYHOUND
    Debra R.

My husband and I had heard Birba has great cocktails, so we gave it a try. I loved my Italian greyhound, a delicious marriage of vodka, aperol, and grapefruit juice, all favorites. Do not miss the garlic knot, filled with garlic and tasty fresh bread. As the place filled, so did the noise level at this patio restaurant. Service was pleasant, my salad fresh, the pizza large, but just okay. Lots of trendy ingredients and vegetarian choices on the menu.

Food was out of this world bursting with flavor and freshness!! From the Pizza to Pasta to the Brussels sprouts, everything was divine! Topped it off with a yummy espresso martini. Highly recommend. Staff and atmosphere is perfect. We had a big party, the staff didnt miss a beat and the outdoor seating under the trees/lights was the perfect setting.

Excellent Italian space in the strip. Beautiful inside. Parking is difficult, you'll just need to drive around. Our four top had the Margherita pizza, house salad, Brussels sprouts and the Rigatoni. Tiramisu finished it off. The Rigatoni is very special. My date Old Fashion was very special too. Ian provided exceptional service.

We were so hungry we did not even have time to wait for a table... it was cold. It was windy outside, so we sat at the bar. I ordered the meatballs with polenta and ricotta. It was so good. I gobbled it up without even thinking about it. The service was very good. The food was nice . In this particular mall, there's really not a lot of restaurants with this quality of food so we were happy to find this place as we were walking and shopping. We were definitely not in the mood for a food court, so this was a nice option.

We hosted a pre-wedding party Italian family style dinner for our family and friends on a Thursday night on their outdoor patio. The dinner was delicious! It was a perfect evening! Thank you F10!!

Fun outdoor space, full on a Sunday night. We tried the radicchio and endive salad, cacio e Pepe Brussel sprouts and the special pizza, all tasty and good portions. Service was friendly and attentive they let us sample the wine to help us make a decision.

Did a walk in with my husband and baby, they got a nice table convenient with the stroller. Drinks were delicious and we shared a pizza which was soooo tasty. The dough was fantastic. Very cute romantic restaurant great for groups and date night

We were excited to go here, as we love good pizza. The setting is lovely, outside under the trees. Very romantic. Unfortunately, even though our server was very nice, everything took a really long time. We ordered drinks, my dirty martini was OK, but not great, probably the olive juice. My husband's beer (Abita brown lager) didn't come til after the salad was served. Beet salad was very good! Then we waited and waited for our pizza. We got the Piece of the Pie pizza, toppings were good but the crust was awful. Thin but soggy. I only ate 1 piece, and a few of the toppings from the rest. I guess because of our wait our server comped us dessert - butterscotch pudding that was excellent! We might try again and have pasta, and hope service is better.

Birba - Disappointing Experience Despite Good Food My husband, Mark S., made a reservation earlier this evening for 7:00 PM. We arrived early at 6:45 PM, checked in with the hostess, and she barely acknowledged us. The Latina hostess was too busy chatting and joking with her coworkers to pay attention when I told her we had a reservation. Despite that, she still made us wait about 15 minutes -- even though the table they eventually sat us at was already vacant and clearly ready. Once seated, we waited again for our server. To his credit, he was attentive once he arrived and apologized for the delay -- he was the one redeeming part of the night. What really surprised me was being served food with no napkins or utensils. We had to ask for them, which is unacceptable at this level. And when the pasta pomodoro came out, no one offered extra cheese or pepper -- something that should be standard for a pasta dish. The dining setup itself is uncomfortable. Tables are far too close, and guests and servers kept bumping into each other or having to apologize just to get by. It didn't feel organized or relaxing. The food was great, but everything around it made the experience not worth it. Palm Springs has plenty of restaurants with better hospitality and better respect for reservations. I only tried Birba because The Eater recommended it, but I wouldn't return. If you plan on visiting, make a reservation and still expect to wait. Honestly, takeout might be the more pleasant option.

Surprisingly good food. We liked the black pepper tagliatelle the most with the birba pizza second. The tagliatelle had a really nice flavor and wasn't too heavy. The pizza was sweet with a little bit of kick and deliciously meaty. We also ordered the Tutto carne pizza which was like a yummy meat lovers pizza. We had a lemon olive oil cake and tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu was a little too mushy and not enough mascarpone but the lemon olive oil cake was nicely balanced, and tasty.

This place has excellent food! We found ourselves wandering on a chilly Palm Springs winter evening. We almost went to about 3 different places but landed here. The pizza, pasta, and salads were simply excellent. I have definitely walked by before but never entered. Moving forward, I will be visiting as often as I can! From what I recall, we had a hot honey pizza, a ricotta ravioli, and a walnut salad. The cocktails were so yummy too. My mom ordered her first Vesper and loved it. Our server was kind and quick, paying attention to the our needs. The outdoor, garden-like setting with fire pits and trees was dreamy, although we could have used a little more light. It was tough to read the menus. Maybe table lights? Heaters worked well also. I'm so pleased we had a delicious meal at Birba and I can't wait to return.

I came here on a Friday evening with a bachelorette party and it was great! Every single pizza was flavorful and an absolute hit. Don't be shy to try the lemon pizza, it was phenomenal! They also served me a Lambrusco with a heavy pour. Always love a generous bar! Service was great and parking was on the street. It is completely outdoors so keep that in mind if you want to escape the heat but I totally recommend for yummy dinner!

We shared a bunch of dishes, which is definitely the way to experience the menu. The cocktails (not pictured) were fantastic--whether you're in the mood for a timeless classic or something a little more whimsical, there's something for everyone. The escargot was beautifully prepared and made even better by the perfectly char-grilled baguette that came alongside it. The steak tartare was an absolute flavor bomb with great seasoning, especially paired with the house-made potato chips. It leaned a touch salty, but in a way that made it the perfect appetizer and somehow had us ordering another round of cocktails. The grilled artichokes were simple, smoky, and delicious. The red curry mussels were served with that same incredible bread and an aromatic, deeply flavorful broth that we didn't want to leave behind. The smoked pork chop was another standout--beautifully charred on the outside while staying perfectly juicy inside. Beyond the food, the service was fabulous, attentive, but not rushed. The atmosphere is quintessential Palm Springs: stylish, colorful, well-lit and a lively environment overall. It made for a memorable birthday celebration, and everyone in our group left happy. We'll absolutely be back.

Reservations are notoriously hard to get, but we got lucky with a last-minute walk-in and were seated after 15-20 min wait. There's plenty of parking, and if you do have to wait, they have a cute little covered outdoor seating area with chairs and tables where you can relax. We sat on the patio, which was surprisingly cool and comfortable, so don't let the Palm Springs heat scare you away. The whole restaurant has such a sexy, colorful, candlelit vibe that somehow feels both lively and intimate. We kept the drinks simple and ordered Hugo Spritzes, which were refreshing and perfectly made for a hot afternoon. What we ordered: * Caramelized Onion Tart (Puff pastry, chive, Comté) - This was recommended by our server and I can see why. It reminded me of French onion soup wrapped in a flaky puff pastry. Rich, savory, and definitely shareable since it is a bit on the heavier side. * Red Thai Curry Mussels (PEI mussels, ginger, garlic, lemongrass, red chile, coconut milk) - WOW. This was hands down my favorite dish. The broth was incredible, rich and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. I was worried the lemongrass might overpower everything, but it was perfectly balanced. It comes with toasted bread and trust me, you'll want every last drop of that broth. I'd honestly come back just for this dish. * Steak Frites - The steak was cooked perfectly medium and was delicious. The fries were crispy and seasoned well, making it a classic done right. * Broccolini - Simple but really good with a nice char that added great flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The atmosphere is one of the best parts..beautiful, moody, and full of personality..but the food absolutely held its own. Service was friendly, the patio was comfortable, and now I completely understand why it's one of Palm Springs' hardest reservations to get. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Well this one, located in the Arena area of Palm Springs. Theres no name or signs anywhere. You just have to know where to look. Try opening doors and see which one opens. We were walking back to the car when I noticed the doors. As l had heard so much about it but didn't know where it was. Well lucky me, I opened the door with the first try. I had an idea on where it was but didn't know where. That's where the 4 stars come in. As I had the door open, I could hear from the bar area a gentleman yelling out shut the door. Ok, I get the dark hidden concept but yelling out like that, kind of rude. Do you not want people in. It was about 11pm when we walked in. You enter and it's a dark hallway straight to the bar. That'll be what you see right when you walk in. Place is covered in a dark damask wallpaper and only light are small fixtures. So dark and demure. Bar area is the main attraction with all the seating. There's a few hi tops along the wall as well as some seating in the back area. I'm not sure how big the place is as we only went straight to the bar and sat down. The menu is printed to resemble vintage newspaper. The dark mysterious room with tufted seats and dim lights is what this place is all about. But of course you can't leave out the drinks. Centered of the bar wall, there's Udo Kier watching you. We wanted to grab a drink at the Window Bar (not knowing that was its actual name, but the conversation we had with the bartender about that window shining too much light at certain parts of the morning definitely gave me a chuckle in hindsight). We happened to be a bit early since he had not been able to finish setting up shop yet. We went ahead and waited until he was ready without rushing him because we ourselves weren't in any rush at all. Surrounded by a ton of nice interesting artwork, it was a pure joy to enjoy a drink or two in this environment. The bar can be found at the corner on the other side of the hotel concierge in plain sight from such a big space for a lobby, directly left upon entrance through the front. Since it was slow in the morning, we were able to chat it up with the bartender and even explore a bit of experimentation in the form of a particular top secret cocktail that every mixologist knows. I definitely exercised my etiquette and reading the conditions to even suggest it. He couldn't be any nicer about our time with him. If there's somebody at the bar, you'll need to simply ask if it is open yet.
