I got the Shaking Sauce Mild which is their signature sauce it's 3 sauces combined and then you can choose how spicy you want it. The combo is served with fried rice corn and potatoes. Definitely the best in the city thus far. I live in the Northwest side and make the 30min drive almost weekly because others do not compare. The portion size are phenomenal. She was going on and on about a story and let a few F bombs drop. We all use profanity, but loudly at work, I don't think so. Now on to the food, the crab legs were meaty but the sauce was terrible. I'm not a fan. Overall the food was not that great and the service was terrible. There are other seafood restaurants in Indianapolis that I would recommend opposed to this restaurant. Upon arriving to the restaurant there was a lot to take in. This business lost a star right off the bat due to service. The customer simply informed her that they did not receive a ordered item. Both women showed her their receipt. The staff member was very rude with these paying customers about getting them when they needed. In addition, the young lady who was taking orders did not appeared that she didn't want to be there at all. At the time she had her headphones in her ears to complete personal phone call. As a result, she was not really checking on orders for customers a who had been waiting on ordered food for quite some time. Loss of the other stars has to do with the food. Once I got the food in my car I noticed a very "Chinese food restaurant" kind of smell from my order. This was slightly concerning but I figure I would give everything a good try. I ordered the combo combination of snow crabs and shrimp (heads off). When I got home and open the bag that the food comes in due to the sauce, I noticed that the shell of the shrimp was completely on which included the legs of a shrimp. Upon eating the shrimp I could tell that the seafood was of poor quality. It's hard to really put my put on but at times I felt the shrimp was older. The seafood was not as fresh as other restaurants with the same offering provides. Onto the snow crap - they was just okay. The sauce was completely overbearing even though I received the mild sauce. The sauce wasn't butter. I will say there was a large offering of shrimp but again the quality of the shrimp was not great. Honestly, I couldn't get through it. The sauce completely made the dish was completely overbearing, especially to the corn on a cob. The sauce it did accommodate the potato, however. Overall, I was somewhat dissatisfied with the food I had eaten. Out of all the seafood restaurants stand-alones I've tried in a similar fashion this is probably the worst I've tried. Just had an early dinner at Shaking Crab--it was great! It's over at 10th and Shadeland, hidden behind the Taco Bell. I went with a half-pound shrimp and half-pound crawfish combo with the classic cajun seasoning ("hot" level of spiciness), which comes with a (small) potato and a section of corn-on-the-cob, as well as a side of rice (which, amusingly, was served Chinese fried-rice style; the owner is the same as Wings Mania next door). The shrimp did require peeling, which is not surprising for this kind of food. Be prepared to get messy; you're given a bucket, and you need one. Plastic gloves, bibs, and paper towels are readily available. I was also given a plastic fork and a little seafood cracker, potentially useful depending on what you've ordered. The location seems kind of weird but the no-frills feel of the restaurant makes a lot more sense to me than the mismatched decor of some other similar restaurants I've visited. Food was delicious. My order (including a soda) was just over $20. I also brought home an order of fried catfish for my wife, which came with _delicious_ cajun fries.It seems like a great place to get carry-out, but having somebody else clean up the inevitable mess pushes me slightly in the direction of dine-in. I don't know what the people who are complaining about service and giving the place one star are whining about. It was a little unclear to me whether I needed to seat myself or be seated, but the only person at the counter was fielding a string of phone calls so I didn't mind waiting a minute to figure it out. (It appears that you seat yourself, I'd just want to make sure somebody saw me coming in or sit somewhere easily visible.) My server was prompt and polite and my food came out pretty quickly. I suppose I can understand if you want to be hovered over while you're eating that you might not be happy with this, but when I am elbow deep in a bag full of boiled crawfish I want SPACE. Notably as soon as I was finished my server came by with my check, so it was pretty clear to me that they were paying attention. Flavors are decent not really that spicy and i don't quite understand the rice being served with it but thats okay lol I ordered Crawfish both times I went a pound and a half was more than enough but the disappointment came when i ordered sausage and they came cut up which is odd. Overall not a bad Cajun style boil. I had gotten 3lbs our crawfish and 1lb of shrimp with the head still on. All was seasoned shakin style and hot spice level. First of all those weren't shrimp were big prawns, huge intact. In hindsight, I wish I had gotten only the shrimp. They were fresh, plump, and delicious. In my opinion the flavor of the seasoning itself was quite bland compared to other Cajun boils I've had before. The crawfish had a hard time actually pulling the seasoning into the meat. The extras I had were corn, potatoes and little bowl of fried rice. All of which were average but nothing to brag about. If you're in Indianapolis and craving a Cajun boil not a bad place but not the best. I recommend the shrimp with the head on. read more

Shaking crab food is very good. Only thing I do not like is their customer service. I order ahead and I am always given an estimated time to pick up which is about (30 mins). Well it's never been a time I could just walk in pay & receive my food. I usually have to wait another 30-45mins after I pay to get my food. So timing is a big problem here. I came here with my brother with a little speculation because it was in a strip mall. The way to order the food is the same way as every other seafood boil. We got the combo with snow crab legs, mussels and crawfish. Added a side of sausage with some calamari to start. It was surprisingly fresh and good. Nice breaks in the crab. The sauce was amazing. Came back with my family this time, I was praising how good the place was to my sister and she couldn't stop talking about it so we came with our brother and mother. My mom is very hard to please when we go out to eat but we knew she enjoyed seafood and this place gives you a bucket of it! My sister and I got a pound each of crawfish (I got shaking sauce/ extra hot, my sister got garlic butter/medium), I got an extra side of corn on the cob and red skin potatoes, they both come with 3 if you add extra sides, if not it already comes with one additional potato and corn. My mother got a pound of black mussels (shaking sauce/extra hot). She LOVES them, probably the first time we heard her say amazing things about her meal. My brother got the 6oz lobster tail, he really enjoyed it, the sauce was soaking into the meat and he ate it with his rice. We finished everything and left very satisfied! The food here is always good. I haven't had a bad experience after eating here for about 8 months. The staff is amazing, I love how they employ the community. Now to the food, my go-to favorite is half snow crab, half shrimp no head and I add sausage. The 1/2 lbs orders come with potato and corn so no need to add on. My favorite sauce is the Shaking Sauce that adds all the sauces together and the spicy level I get is HOT, but it's not really hot. But I have a decent tolerance for spicy food.
