I buy Indian spices from the adjacent store, but this was my first time dining at Shah-E-Punjab. I appreciate that they are a vegetarian restaurant. I'm not a vegetarian, but I do enjoy vegetarian food for variety in my diet, and for the more aromatic seasonings typically used on vegetarian Indian food. I had the lunch buffet. The selection was decent, about 10 entrees. The food was very tasty; spicy, but not overly so. It seems they use very similar seasonings on several items, but many textures, not at all boring. I definitely believe it's worth another visit to try their dinner menu. It's not quite fair, in my mind, to base my total opinion on a lunch buffet. Those items tend to under-represent what a restaurant can do. They do have vegan on their dinner menu, for those with such a diet. I found it a bit disappointing that weren't many diners there on a Friday lunch meal. I commented to my gracious hostess 'You need more customers'. She lamented that many people don't understand vegetarian cooking. That's sad, because the food is very good. She said that they get more customers for dinner. read more

We went to Shan e Punjab on a Friday Morning for the Buffet . The service was great they made sure we know what to do and the waitress check in on us from time to time to make sure we were OK. Honestly the best food I've eaten in a very long time! I've been coming here for a few months now and I can't stop coming back. They do take-out if you're in a hurry, but the service is so fantastic I highly recommend sitting down. They are very personable and when we showed up with only 30 minutes to closing and were going to just get take out, they offered to have us sit down, knowing they would close late if we dined in. Then, brought us a sweet treat to try for free. Best people I've ordered from and spoken with in the food industry, EVER. I will not get Indian food anywhere else.
