Had dinner here tonight and everything was fantastic. The Mai Tais were some of the best I've ever had. The owner was our bartender she was awesome. Excellent service including recommending some of her favorites. I had the Mongolian Trio and pork fried rice. The meal was excellent. The vegetables and proteins were all very fresh and the pork fried rice was amazing. We also had the Home Made Shanghai Pork & Jicai Dunpling. Those cannot be missed! We will def be back often. I have been here about three times and each time we go it is very good!!! I have a dish that I always try at any new Chinese restaraunt "Twice Cooked Pork" It is excellent here. Must Try If you are looking for the same old greasy PuPu Platter with extra bonless ribs they have that. I think you can get that almost anywhere and it is the same everywhere. Where I think this place excels is the is in the authentic dishes and platters and soups. They are a step above the LoKia ,Golden Dragon, Halua etc... My wife and I have been coming here for a couple years now. Not being a fan of Americanized Chinese food I love this place and order off the "authentic" selections almost exclusively. My wife is more on the Americanized side and swears by their food but especially loves their wings. Jenny always greets us and treats us like family and will even have the kitchen make something special for me if I don't know what I'm in the mood for. Her sushi is excellent and portions are generous. I think we have got to a point of getting at least takeout once a week. It is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. read more

My wife and I have been here several times. The food is great. Typically we order sushi with a hot appetizer. Although, we have had their main entrees as well. The sushi always seems fresh and they have a great selection of maki rolls. Their entrees are flavorful and plentiful. The restaurant it's self is clean and very well decorated, making for a very enjoyable atmosphere. Our one complaint is that the service is never very good. You receive your food in a timely fashion, but receive very little attention from your servers after placing your order. We did not see our server from the point he dropped off our food, to the point where I had to get up and ask for our bill. (We were the only party seated in the restaurant) Over all this is one of our favorite Asian restaurants in southern Nashua and recommend it! read more

What a waste of $67 plus a $10 tip. Whoever heard of a Pu Pu Platter for TWO that comes with just ONE measly eggroll! My wife and I argued for an hour, and by then it was cold and inedible. What - they couldn't throw in one more egg roll? What - the Chinese don't understand what a Pu Pu Platter for TWO means?? Cheap servings, cheap service, and cheap ingredients. Being Chinese and coming from Singapore the food here is truly as good or better than most Chinese restaurants in this area and in Boston too. Forget about chinatown people...I know this is quite a drive but it is truly worth it. They give you 2 sets of menus and I highly suggest ordering from the Traditional Chinese menu. I come here at least twice a week and always get their Niu rou mian, or Beef tendon noodle soup, their noodles are hand made and their broth is a touch spicy fragrant and full of flavor. My other half always gets the lunch special and for 7.95 its a steal! They have about 20 options to choose from. He loves his General Tso's chicken, brown rice, a choice of fried chicken wings, spring rolls or crab rangoon, and a choice of wanton soup, egg drop soup, or hot and sour which is to die for. Their hosts and owners Jenny and Laura are also a treat, their super friendly and are always happy and welcoming. One sad thing however...is that they call me by another name...don't know how that came about but to them I am Michelle. Other dishes I would recommend are: 1.suan cai yu tang : preserved vegetable sliced fish in hot pot 2. green beans fired with ground pork 3. szechuan sliced fish hot pot 4.xiao long bao : soup dumplings I wish I could come here with a larger party and eat family style. I would probably order the whole menu. A friend of mine has tried their japanese menu and it is also good, but come here for the Chinese menu!!! Their drinks are also strong and cheap. Came here with my folks about a week ago, and lordy, it is absolutely excellent. We used to come to the place that used to occupy the space, Osaka Tea Garden, and were crushed to find it had moved. Never in a million years would've thought we'd get another place close to that good. Thank god we were wrong - this place actually tops it. The sesame chicken and orange chicken are both excellent - slightly crispy, very lightly battered, and delicious. If I was ever going to make sesame chicken for someone, this is how I would try and spectacularly fail to do so. The fried rice is PRETTY good. Above average, but nothing about it really sets it apart from what you'd expect. It's not greasy at all, which I liked. Not much else to say about it. Really loved their Lo Mein. I usually find Lo Mein tasteless and a bit bland, but this had a nice light sauce that stuck to the noodles and just really held its own as a dish in itself. Their tempura was easily the best I've ever had. Wholly recommended. The sushi was all quite excellent. Salmon Maki and the Rainbow Maki were both wonderful, soft and flavorful. I can only think of one I didn't love, and that was the Spider Maki, which wasn't bad in the least, just not as good as the rest. Next time I'd probably try something with tempura in it. We tried the dim sum/peaking ravioli, and it was decent but not amazing. Seemed unusually boring compared to everything else. I would probably not order it next time unless I was particularly hungry. The server was nice, peppy, chatty, and adorably shaky with her English. No real issues with communication at all, AND she got my dad to open up a bit about his trip to China a while back. She seemed genuine and kind of outgoing, which I dunno, you don't usually get that kind of pleasant informality in places like this often. It was nice. Drinks were about average. We got some Mai Tai's, came out well enough. Watch the price on the drinks, though, as I think that was a huge portion of the bill. Naturally, I wasn't the one who paid, but it seemed a little on the high side. We DID get a lot of food, so, I couldn't speak for the price. Anyways, hugely recommended. First off when I walked in it was SUPER BUSY at the register, I stand to the side waiting my turn. Then this guy walks in & the hostess (I'm assuming) asks if she can help him, hmmmm no biggie. Then she turns and asks a couple of others who they're waiting for & talks to the guy standing right beside me BUT never acknowledged me again! Finally I said excuse me who do you have to see to be seated? Then I'm seated, one girl gets my drink order & another comes & starts asking if I can be helped? I'm confused?? Who is my waitress? Oh we all work together. I don't like that because if you have one kick ass waitress & one ok waitress who gets tip? Does it get split? Then both items I wanted were not available. I have been wanting coconut shrimp... not available! Then I get this long list of what they don't have available tonight. & I ask for soup, no soup! By this point I'm pretty disappointed so I go with my usual at Chinese restaurants; Sweet n sour chicken. It's served with a bowl of plain white rice. Yuk! I'm not a fan of plain rice. I gave 3 stars because the food, waitress & environment in the seated area wasn't bad. But, when walking in & out you have to go through a crowd of guests & staff. Tried it for the first time today and was very pleasantly surprised. Very nice inside, the service was fine, and the food and presentation were far above the usual you get in Nashua. Reminded me of the Ming Garden (which was on DWH - now the Takumi), with its more refined presentation of the food than the usual pile of fried rice/sauce/meat with an eggroll stuck on top. THE GENERAL TSO's CHICKEN IS THE BEST YOU WILL FIND. It was fried to a nice crisp, without a hint of greasiness, and most importantly didn't have the big wads of fat you'll find inside the chicken chunks at pretty much every other Chinese place in the area. read more

Shanghai Osaka is a gem of a restaurant that is tucked away in a small strip mall. The regulars would prefer to keep it hidden but that wouldn't be fair. Jenny Chen, the proprietor of Shanghai Osaka (or Shang) ensures quality, authentic Chinese/Japanese food made fresh from scratch and at reasonable prices. Foods can be modified to your taste or needs. Regular favorites include #29 and #49. The staff is very friendly - when you come back a second time, they will greet you by name and by the third time, they will know your drink. The bar is full of equally friendly regulars. There is often music from the "jukebox" and sometimes dancing in the aisles. Check it out - you won't be disappointed. read more

Shanghai Osaka opened about a month ago. Here is my honest review. Food was served to us very quickly, a nice blend of Japanese and Chinese cuisine. We ordered Amazing chicken which was very good, hot & sour soup which was hot and sour :), Miso Soup which really rival's some of the better places around such as Dynamite and You-You. Two pieces of Salmon Sushi which were fresh and cold- (perfect actually). We also got desert for free which was a nice touch from the owner who is still going through the grand opening phase. We went in for lunch yesterday. They were sealing the parking lot and there wasn't much business because of that. Laura, owner or manager, was super nice!! We ordered a Mai Tai and Scorpion Bowl. Both which were really good. We ordered from their lunch menu which is a really good deal. General Tso's Chicken with Pork Fried Rice and Chicken Wings and Wonton Soup for $7.50. My fiance got the House Special Beef with Pork Fried Rice, Crab Rangoons, and Hot and Sour Soup. He loved it!!! Then he ordered another drink. He got the Lava Flow. It was so yummy! I took half of mine home cause I was full. Got 2 meals out of it! 2 lunches and 3 drinks for $33? Really good deal!! We will deff be regulars! Oh and the decor inside is really nice! Edit October 3rd 2011: We continue to go to Shanghai Osaka on a regular basis and the food is consistently good. The employees are ALWAYS nice. We have never had a problem here. Horrible service on a Friday night, went to grab some appetizers and drinks and the server was very inattentive talking to a customer as we were standing trying to be seated, the customer whom the server was speaking to then had to say " why don't you take care of them first " . We also had outside seating and at our table after being seated and wiped down once and chairs weren't wiped down, we sat for about 4 minutes to have 3 spiders next to us on the railing and one spider flying down from the roof of the cover for the tables where we are supposed to stay 6ft.... Male server who was working this night went over to the other side to take care of others tables but also took orders from the people who came after us which were seated AFTER we were and as we were stood up hoping to be seated or asked what's wrong the waiter gave us a rude look..Very disappointed that this sever did not try to accommodate us to another table, and try to solve the solution as we were visiting Nashua, we are one hour away from here and visit often but we will not be back here with this type of service... read more

BEWARE!! They're lying on their menu and website!!! THEY USE MSG! We order delivery from this place quite often. It states on their menu and website that they use "NO MSG". I always ask before I order if they're using MSG, just to make sure nothing has changed. They always say, just as they did this evening..."NO MSG IN ANY OF OUR FOOD." I'm highly allergic to MSG (emergency room required if I don't have emergency medication on hand). I ordered soup and 10 minutes after I had an allergic reaction. Good thing I was at home and had medication or I would be in the emergency room right now. I called and asked to speak to the manager and the woman answering the phone insisted she was the manager and asked what the problem was. I told her about the issue and that she needed to change the "no msg" on their menu and website. Her response was "Sorry. Yes, nice suggestion about changing the menu." This restaurant couldn't care less about the safety of their customers. We will be looking for a new place to eat. read more

Me and my friend swung by here before it had opened back in July. We came back weeks later when it had opened and were quite happy. The decor is excellent. We were particularly fond of the canvases on the walls which offered beautiful artwork which matched very well with the overall color scheme. The tables, glass ware and utensils were pristine. The wait staff was not only friendly but also accommodating. My friend asked for something that was not on the menu (Naruto Rolls - cucumber rolls with crab meat) and they talked to the sushi chef to make it happen. They were delicious! I ordered the Nabe Yaki Udon and I forget exactly what he ordered. The Udon was excellent. It had plenty of thick, tender udon noodles, chicken, crab, kamaboko (cured fish cake) , veggies and an egg. The broth was delicious and just light enough to not overpower the other flavors in the soup. This was definitely a hearty soup and well worth the modest price. We definitely plan to go back and try more of the sushi here and I will likely return for another round of Udon! read more

I can be very picky with Chinese food and there are only a few places I actually like and i can now say most of those places are in Nashua. Nashua has some really good Chinese food restaurants, this place had good service, fresh food and a nice atmosphere. I would go back here any day and recommend this place to anyone. I'm giving this restaurant two stars because I liked the hot and sour soup and the crab rangoon. The ambiance was poor...lumpy, vinyl-covered benches and worn carpets were the least of it. For the entire 30 minutes that I was in the joint, I was in a tug-o-war for my food with the flies. The flies won, but only because I had no desire to finish my sub-par chicken with garlic sauce. I took a chance on this place based on the positive internet reviews...and quickly learned my lesson to never go to a "fusion" Japanese restaurant for Chinese food. I was also the only customer in there at noon. Never a good sign. Here's the thing okay...a good stir fry recipe with wonderfully bright veggies and fresh chicken does not need to be cooked in a gallon of oil. On a hibachi, the oil dissipates in an impressive way for the audience, but in a wok it just pools there and what you end up with is chicken swimming for dear life in a pool of greasy, tasteless fat. Oh yeah, and if you mark an item on the menu as spicy...remember that spicy and salty are not the same thing. In the end, my meal didn't completely go to waste, however, because the flies loved it. I think that next time the craving strikes me, I'll stick to Chinese food from a Chinese restaurant. read more

Came here based on a recommendation of one of my fellow yelp peers, and I am so glad I did. I had seen this place a million times and never thought twice about it. I will highlight what the standouts were: First off service is dead on, very attentive and super friendly. Next, the food comes out fast and is super fresh. The hot and sour soup was really good and reasonably priced. The General tao's with white meat was amazing perfectly prepared and was so tasty. The know out for the night tho was the Out of Control Maki, it was stunning, one of the best rolls I have ever had! Honorable mention would be the Kings Maki which was very fresh and beautifully plated. This is how I will summarize this place, if you have been going to some of the local spots that you always hit, try this place you will be super impressed! read more
