Cons: - Can get busy during "rush hours" (weekends). - The non-milk drinks tends to be very sweet in my opinion. The more I come here, the more of a fan I become. I like the diversity of the menu. They have the standard milk and fruit teas, as well as ice blended drinks, but there's also unique variations to the classics. You can adjust the level of sweetness and ice in your drink. I recommend doing half or less (80%) sweet with less ice because of concern for diabetes and you can get more of the actual drink in your cup. My go to drinks are the classic pearl milk tea made with oolong tea and the wintermelon with lemon juice. Both the oolong and wintermelon bases have very distinct tastes. The oolong used here is probably a medium roast, and it has a nutty and floral taste to it. The wintermelon is slightly sweet and tangy, but refreshing. The combination of milk with the oolong and lemon juice with the wintermelon is very harmonious. Both the milk and lemon juice are fresh, and they even use a measuring cup for the lemon juice to ensure the flavor profile of the drink is just right. I've also tried the hokkaido milk tea (caramel toffee), but wasn't a fan of how they make it here. It tasted too artificial and sweet for my liking. The mango green tea was good, and I like that there were remnants of mango within the tea. The add-ons here are great. They have all the usual suspects like boba, different jellies, aloe and puddings. The boba is cooked to the right consistency, where it's soft but still chewy. When you bite into the center of a pearl, the texture is silky smooth throughout, but it provides some resistance so it's not just mush in your mouth. The add-on that I want to discuss is their aiyu jelly, because no other boba shop I've frequented has it. This is probably because it's a traditional Taiwanese dessert. The jelly is on the firmer side when compared to a grass jelly. You'll definitely have to use some chomping power to eat it, kind of like regular Jell-O, but so much better. The taste is mild and tangy and has a bit of a honey flavor to it, so it pairs PERFECTLY with the wintermelon with lemon juice. Even if you don't get the wintermelon with lemon juice tea, I'd recommend trying this unique add-on with whatever drink you get. The staff is nice, the drinks are prepared really quick and they'll wipe the cups down before handing them to you. If you're not satisfied with your drink, they'll make whatever adjustments you want. There's also free Wi-Fi, but seating inside is a bit limited. If you check-in on Yelp, they'll give you 10% off your order. I like that they offer stamp cards for frequent visitors, but don't like how they expire after a few months because it just encourages you to empty your bank account faster in pursuit of that free drink. read more

First off, let me just say I love tea; I drink it probably 2-3x a week. Given how easy it is to get tea in OC, it bothers me Sharetea does not seem to care about customer service. I understand they're not obligated to offer customer loyalty programs such as stamp cards but at the same time, if you're going to offer such a service, do it properly. It's poor service to not inform your customers the cards expire (within a relatively short time frame, 5-6 months) and to not honor expired stamps (I had 8 out of 10). All I could do was watch the cashier toss my card away and have her tell me my only choice was to start all over. That said, Sharetea does have good quality drinks and their menu is most similar to ones in Taiwan (which was a big plus for me having lived there for a few years). Some of my friends don't care for this place, but I personally love it! Their teas are fresh and full flavor. I love the okinawa milk tea as well as their oolong milk tea. I get my drinks with boba or pudding (or both if I'm on a spending spree) and I always leave satisfied. A few times my cup was actually near empty by the time I got home in my car and I felt a little sad. I've heard the taro is not so great, so I would stay away from that. But the teas have great flavor and I am sure they use real tea leaves, not powder. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area! read more

I am a HUGE fan of boba and tea. I've tried a zillion boba places and Sharetea was by far one of my favorite boba places. The first time I tried Sharetea was actually in San Mateo (NorCal) and I fell in love with their Green Tea with Fresh Milk. When I found out that they opened one in Santa Ana I was ecstatic because it's pretty close to Irvine and I love the Sharetea from San Mateo. Sadly, I feel like the quality of the tea went down this year. I thought it was just this store, but recently I went back to the one in San Mateo and it was not as good anymore either. I get their drinks half sweet because I think their drinks are pretty sweet. Also, if you get boba, I would get less boba since they fill almost half the cup with boba and I think that is just too much boba in one cup. The ratio between boba and tea is off, but that might be a good thing for people that LOVE boba. Overall, I am pretty disappointed with this boba shop. Sharetea's oolong milk tea is the only oolong tea i will get. Other boba shops' oolong tastes too milky, but at Sharetea the actual tea flavor is noticeable. I also love that they have mini boba and straws that are skinny but just large enough to drink the mini boba out of. The drinks come out fast, because they begin making them before you even pay out. The thing I don't like about this location is the customer service. I've been here often, and each employee that has taken my order has an underlying layer of attitude and snarkiness when they're talking to you. I understand that they'd much rather be talking to their friends than working, don't all of us? But they make that clear to customers. Anyone that has worked in the service industry knows that sometimes you just don't want to have a conversation with a stranger, or you'd prefer telling your coworkers about your crazy weekend, but please don't make your customers feel uncomfortable and judged. The workers here will smile and laugh with their friends, and I don't mind people having fun at work, but as soon as a customer walks up to the register their smiles disappear and they act like they can't wait to get rid of you. Apparently drink adjustments like less sugar or light ice warrants an eye roll. The reason I really like Sharetea in general is because I know which teas I like and how I like them with less ice and just so much sweet (x%). But, here in Santa Ana, it's the wait time, service, and inconsistency of the drinks that leave me a little disappointed. Coupled with the fact that the general SoCal area has so many other drink spots (see my other reviews), this isn't the first place I'd head, but then again it isn't my last. Note, this spot is tough to find from the street, but follow the GPS and look for Jimmy John's and Men's Warehouse. Once you park, it'll be right inside that same complex to the right of Euro Caffe down the short flight of steps. Will I be back? Probably. I happened to stumble upon Sharetea actually on a recent trip in Hong Kong. The Mrs. is normally not a fan of boba (pearl, bubble, the small chewy tapioca balls) but was blown away by the taste and quality of both milk tea and boba. So she did a quick search and what do you know...a Sharetea in Santa Ana. This location is right next to South Coast Plaza...like literally across the street. I was so happy that there's a Sharetea nearby as my milk tea addiction and craving is never ending. I don't know how to explain it, their milk tea and boba just taste fresh, delicious, and pleasant. I don't know what it is or what they cook their boba in. It's more in line with Taiwanese style since I love getting the milk tea in Taiwan. Ya it may be $2 in Hong Kong for a large milk tea...but for $4 in the U.S. is the average going rate for quality milk tea. My drink of choice so far is Green Milk tea with Boba. Remember to check in for 10% off your order and to ask for a stamp card. 10 drinks and the next is free. I gave this place 5 stars because I believed that they served high quality drinks and I've been to two different locations. Now, it's gone down to two stars because my loved one got sick from drinking the Strawberry Blend with ice cream and lychee jelly. He's bedridden and has been throwing up and having some digestive problems (trying to spare you the details); He strongly believes this drink triggered his upset stomach. The workers and the atmosphere are great in my opinion, but if the person I care about gets sick, I have to have my doubts. My cousin told me that she had Sharetea back in NorCal and it was delicious, so we decided to check it out at this location. I got the mango green tea with less ice and 50% sweetness, but it tasted like a normal sweet mango tea with syrupy pulp. My cousin got the mango passion fruit tea with less sweet as well, and received a normal sweet ass mango tea as well. What's the point of having the option to customize our drinks if they don't get customized. When in the area, this is a good boba spot to check out. Similar to its sister store in Cerritos, Sharetea Santa Ana offers up some delicious milk teas/ice blended drinks/brewed & fruit teas. It's located in the strip mall across from South Coast Plaza, so if you're looking for a boba break head on over! Parking is aplenty, though seating inside is a bit limited. There are a few tables outside as well, but if you're here during the lunch crowd rush you may have trouble getting a seat. The Hokkaido Pearl tea and the Classic Milk tea are my go to's. Don't forget to get your stamp card - and remember, each Sharetea stamp card can only be used at the location received. Tips to note: -you can customize your sweetness as well as amount of ice in your drink -the Hokkaido pearl tea is already sweetened, so for this drink you can't really customize the sweetness. However I did learn that if you let them know you want it less sweet, they'll add more black tea to balance it out for ya -don't forget to check in for your 10% discount!
