To start, I know there are staffing shortages so I do take that in consideration when leaving a review. However, I was less than impressed with my family's visit. The service was extremely slow, and when we first sat down to eat, it was not busy. It took a while for someone to take our drink orders, then a while after that to order our food. We were told the tator tots had a new seasoning that had lime with it, and that we could get them without the seasoning, so we opted for that. Our meals took a very long time to arrive, and the tator tots had the seasoning on them, lime and tots do not go together. Neither my fiancé or I liked them. We asked to get fries instead, and ate our burgers while we waited. The burgers were great, we both enjoyed them. We waited a while longer for our fries, well after we finished our burgers, and decided to just tell our server to omit them from our order and give us our bill. They did take them off our bill. My fiancé ended up having to go up to the bar to pay, because no one came to our table in the meantime. Overall, just okay. We decided to eat here based on the fact we were staying at the hotel it's in. Also, $1 for a side of ranch and other condiments is a bit pricey, in my opinion. read more

Visiting Holland on a road trip. Staying at Hampton Inn. Stopped in here for some dinner. The atmosphere is dim, average noise, family orientated, and the decor is up to date. It appears to be clean. Staying at the hotel, we decided to eat at their restaurant after a long day out. Service was ok but the food was terrible. Actually it was disgusting. I sent mine back because it wasn't even edible. I was offered something else, but after seeing how the rest of my family's meals looked I passed and asked for the check. We ended up paying for food we couldn't even eat and went to a restaurant down the street. Won't be returning and do not recommend. read more

Staying at the Hampton, this was a good in-hotel restaurant. Our service was good. Two people checked to see we had placed a drink order, then one server was always nearby to see how we were doing or get drinks / condiments. We shared a Wedge Salad and Chicago Beef Quesadilla (sounded interesting!), which was perfect for two at the end of a day of travel. The salad was fresh, with ample strawberries, walnuts and onion. We ordered the Bleu Cheese dressing, which came in a packet, but was decent. The Quesadilla was unique, and fairly interesting. Not a top notch creation, but tasty and fun. The restaurant itself sits between the lobby and the pool area. It is a sports bar with several games playing, and a classic rock music track. Volume was moderately loud in the main restaurant area, but a seating area on the side was actually good for a conversation. Everything seemed clean and well maintained. Overall, the food was only 3 stars, but the service and setting made it better. Also, considering it is part of a hotel, it's as good as many I've tried, save a charming few. When in Holland, the hotel is nice, and the restaurant great if you're staying here. Maybe not special to stop in if you aren't staying here, but still a good place to hang out and watch a game. read more

Service was awkward....we had two different servers...the younger just seemed to be trailing behind by a few minutes and would ask the same things. Both offered to clear the table several times but never if we needed more drinks.....irritating. Fortunately the manager, Rose, saved the day. She checked in on us on a regular basis and was great at getting food and drinks to the table. She did a great job and it's obvious why she is the manager. The food was on par for bar food, not bad, not great. It sounded like there was a new cook possibly that was still learning the ropes. I've been assured that the food is normally much better than just ok. Overall there is room for improvement from the wait and cook staff but I'd definitely return the next time I stay at the Hampton. read more

Excellent pizza!!!! Perhaps a bit understaffed on a Friday night. Tasted the works and Philly cheese steak. The Philly is a must have. Dough was perfect. Only hang up was slow drink service and eating on Styrofoam. read more

In a smaller town, this was a pleasant watering hole attached to a nicer hotel. The bartender was friendly and exhibited the the right level of attentiveness to get a good tip and not seem pushy. We didn't try the food, but we noticed they churn out pizzas here at the cyclic rate and they looked pretty tempting. The suds were fresh and I'd venture here again next time I'm in town. read more

The atmosphere was fine, nothing special. The waitstaff was friendly and brought out drinks quickly. But the food, bluck. I've never had perch with thick coated grease covered coating. It's was inedible. The mashed swear potatoes were nothing special and my salad was covered with cheese to hide the wilted brown lettuce. After deciding its best to avoid going out on a rainy day, my boyfriend, his mom, grandmother, and I figured it was best to stay in and eat here in the hotel. Service was slow (their reason was having THREE new kitchen staff cooking on a Friday night), but our waitress, Erin? HORRIBLE. I don't expect smiles, I don't expect small talks of any sort, but I do expect courteous service. Our food took a while to come out, but we totally understand kitchens get backed up. My boyfriend's mom ordered some of the pizza pinwheels, which came out 20-30 minutes after the rest of our food came out. Once the pizza pinwheels finally came out, we realized they were burnt and quickly flagged Erin down. She didn't say much at all, and honestly didn't even seem to care. Her expression was a cross between "What to you expect me to do?", and "So?" Like she expected us to eat it burnt. No apology whatsoever. She blankly asked my boyfriend's mom "what do you want? You want us to remake this or you want something different?" Mind you, the rest of us were basically done eating our food. My boyfriend's mom ended up ordering a small pizza, which only took another half hour to cook. Erin never returned to our table after she dropped the pizza off. We waited for the bill, and tried to flag her down, but by now, she was obviously ignoring us. It wasn't even busy. Fed up with the waiting game, my boyfriend left out of the bar and grill and went straight up to front desk of the hotel and demanded some action be taken. The guy at the front desk of the hotel came into the bar and grill and had a different waitress come over to give us our bill. When this second waitress came over, she that was when we finally got an apology for the "delay" and received explanation about having new kitchen staff. Had hoped to eat here since we were staying at the hotel. We walked in and the only six tables were occupied but every other table was covered with dirty dishes. We asked the only waitress if we should seat ourselves and she responded we should but she would need to clean off the table for us first.
