I went to the gas station Shark Burger this morning to grab a few tacos. I understand Abbott is not mandating mask in a week. But really, do you think you need to be cooking food. Serving food. Taking money without masks or gloves. There was three employees in the kitchen this morning unmasked then the woman who came to take my order coughed in her hands and asked what I wanted. Love, love, love this neighborhood gem! This is the original location of Sharks Burger. It's fantastic and here's why: -The burgers are huge, smothered in toppings, and so juicy that it runs down your hands when you are eating it. That's my kinda burger! -Brioche buns y'all! The king of buns! -The shark bites aka chicken nuggets are oh so good. They are big chunks of chicken fried up in a tasty batter and come with yummy dipping sauces. These are not just for kids let me tell you. Everyone in my family loves them from young to old. -Sharks Sauce gets it own line because it's delicious and I put it on everything I can. So tasty! -The French fries are dreamy. The tater tots are delightful. I can't get enough of either one. Plus, when you order either one, you get a huge order of them. -They do curbside delivery! You can order online and just call when you get there and they run it right out to your car. This is extra great when you have a sleeping kid in the backseat that you don't want to wake up. -They do weekly burger specials to spice up the menu. Follow them on FB to get the weekly specials. Otherwise, the regular Great White and the Rise and Shine burgers are both excellent choices any day of the week. I'm drooling just thinking about them. -Super friendly staff. Every time I have gone, everyone has been super nice, very friendly, and quite helpful. I'm hooked on their customer service alone! -It's in a gas station, but don't hold it against them. They are great. There are a few tables inside or you can grab and go. The moral of the story is Sharks Burger is fantastic! Get over here and stuff your face with this awesomeness! read more

Yelpers rated this 5 stars so I had to give it a try while I run an errand in Leander. As others mentioned, the "restaurant" is in a Shell gas station (and the signage isn't super obvious from the outside). Once inside, it's easy to spot the 3 LCD screens (and most likely a few people waiting) in front of the Sharks Burger payment terminal. From here, the friendly staff readily took my order and helped walk me though my choices. I went with the popular Great White Cheddar Bacon Burger all the way with a side of Tots. The food came up fairly quickly and I was about to leave when I noticed three 4-top tables in the corner of the convenience store. I took a seat at one and opened up my meal. The burger was very good. A soft bun, crispy bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, and extremely fresh vegetables made for a delightful meal. It had a hint of smokiness and was cooked to perfection. Here's to hoping this establishment takes off and has more locations soon! read more

As other reviewers have said, don't let the location fool you. They have great burgers and fries. We call ahead and pick up on our way home. I'm always surprised at how heavy the bags are...so, you had better be hungry. They have a great choice of burgers or your can build your own. The only downside is that the smell drives me to eat some of it on the way home, which can get messy, but it is worth it. Highly recommended. read more

Wow,,,WOw....WOW!!!! MY FELLOW ELITES!!!! C'mon over to Leander, off Old 2243-now known as Hero's Way- on the West side of 183 to a non assuming Shell Gas Station. See a small sign to the right of the entry "Sharks Burgers". Enter to a convenience store with a nice wine selection on the isle to the left. Up near the front door where the cash registers for gas and goodies sit, there is a cute sign denoting Shark Burgers and Breakfast Tacos and a menu above another cash register with several cute stuffed Sharks in a row lining the counter....and some very friendly staff along with a big flat top grill - waiting to take your order. As another Yelper noted - there is a little board with a burger special (which runs for two weeks at a time according to the team) it touted a delicious sounding Bleu cheese and avocado burger - but I had to pass, as this burger today would be shared with a hater , a Bleu Cheese hater that is. So after checking out several burgers described in detail on the menu board I decided on the Great White. You can choose any condiments including lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. I opted for red onion and pickle in addition to the crispy strips of bacon that topped 2 moist, juicy hamburger patties completely surrounded by melted white cheddar, and some shark sauce all enclosed in a warm brioche bun. It was love at first bite! Thankfully I had taken it to go and cut in in half when I arrived home giving half to the hubby...if I hadn't done it that way I would have no doubt eaten the whole thing! I wouldn't have been able to stop! I rarely eat frozen potatoes but I do enjoy a good Tater Tot once in a blue moon. There is a popular drive-in that makes them but always lots of grease. I ordered a batch with my Great White , they were deep fried to perfection and no grease in the bottom of the bag- obviously had been salted perfectly after leaving the fryer. Really good! So - I give Shark Burger kudos! It is a small menu but they do it extraordinarily well. It's ridiculously good--come find out for yourself. read more

I usually have a good experience here, but today, not so much. Ordered my burger onlilne and went in to pick it up. I walked in and a young black kid was leaning lazily against the counter. When he finally decided to acknowledge my presence, he simply looked back at me without a greeting and without asking me what I needed. When I finally said I was there to pick up an order for my name, he scrunched his eyes and said, "who?" I repeated my name and pointed to the only to go bag that was in the warmer. Without saying a word, he grabbed the bag and put it on the counter, before turning his back and walking back to the counter that was holding him up earlier. Usually this location has exceptional service, but I can only assume that they're having a hard time retaining good help. The second thing is that I specifically asked for the burger to be cut in half, but it wasn't. The burger was tasty, as usual, but it's simple things like this that keep a place from becoming great. I really hope this location doesn't fade like so many places tend to, over time. read more

Found this place on Yelp and so glad I did! It was Grandparents Day at Camacho Elementary and my granddaughter wanted a burger and fries. I didn't want to settle for McDonalds or Sonic, the only burger places I knew of in the area. I live in South Austin and know little of what's available in Leander, but once again, Yelp came to my rescue and in such a big way! I called first to find out how much time I'd need to allow to place my order and get it prepared... you know, so I could add it to my travel time and still arrive at my granddaughter's school on time. To my great surprise they offered to take my order at 8:30 that morning but have it ready whenever I wanted. And they delivered on that promise in spades. I arrived at noon. Waited in line for about two people ahead of me, got to the register and said I was there for a pickup, and he said: oh hi Gail! We just finished your order!!!! There were individual bags he each of us with our names on the bags, and he popped those into a plastic carry out bag and I was on my way. The whole process could not have been more efficient and I could feel the steam rising from the bag. We ordered the Great White for my mom and myself and a made-to-order kids burger for my granddaughter. The Great White comes with two thin but well seared patties, white cheddar, and veggies of your choice. I was a bit worried that it would be heavy and greasy, but it was not! It was delicious and just right. We also ordered fries for each of us. It was all still warm by the time we opened our meals at the elementary school and we all ate every bite! I would suggest that if you are getting multiple orders, try to skip the plastic carry out bag as it just traps in the steam and the fries lose some crispness, but they'll still be delicious! Can't wait for my next opportunity to stop at Sharks Burger! When I told my son where I was getting lunch he said Sharks Burger was the Talk if the Town. Now I know why and I agree completely. If I knew anyone else in Leander I'd be talking the place up too!!! read more

1/31/22 Was told my order would take 10-15 minutes. Showed up almost 25 mins just to be sure as I was running errands. Get there and was told needed another 5 mins to finish my order. Still fine. Said they could take it out to me when it's done and write my order and Mh color of my car in a notebook. I spend the next 15-20 mins watching everybody working there, about 4, besides the cook fool around and stand in front of the counter talking just to be told mg order was lost and they don't know how: they did offer me some fries for their mistake but ... it's 10 mins later and I'm still waiting for my food: Wouldn't have minded but all of them were just goofing around. Been many times and the burgers are great. Dove from Liberty Hill to getting 3 burgers for my family. They close at 8 and I arrived at 7:50 to locked doors. The sign says 8, but they seem to close when they want to. Looked in the window, couple of workers standing behind the counter and 2 tables with customers eating. Just ordered a white cheddar bacon burger on the phone, and when arriving home it is missing the cheese and bacon. When I called Sharks back, lady on phone kept saying I ordered the wrong one, when every order I've ever done has been white cheddar bacon burger. Sharks burgers is a decent burger joint. It is tucked back in the back of a shopping center off Ronald Reagan blvd that's about only downside to them. Their secret is safe to loyal customers. They allow pets so that's a plus for pet owners. The burgers are great might recommend dabbing them with a napkin as they can be a little greasy but if that's your thing, go sharks. The tater tots are great and that's about all I know about them. I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

So I tried this place recently due to a lot of talk in Leander. I'm new to this side so wanted to give a try. I tried the Philly cheese steak burger my husband had the white cheddar burger thing. So as far as my husband he loved it. As far as me my burger was very bland not enough seasoning. Didn't really taste like a Philly. I will say this they're customer service is immaculate. So far this place has lived up to all the hype! We tried the breakfast tacos and the tortilla is so good the ingredients inside. I got chorizo and cheese, ham and cheese - while my husband got 2 sausage and cheese. All are very good but surprisingly the ham beat my usual favorite, chorizo. The optional green chile sauce is spicy! We will definitely have to try this place for some burgers! Oh and I agree with everyone else - very nice people running this place! (The food and gas station) Edit: hubby and I finally made it out for dinner to dine-in and wow the burgers are really good! Juicy and flavorful!
