I ordered catfish and my two colleagues ordered fried chicken that they could not finish. The catfish was very expensive ($21 with 2 sides) but at least edible. I have to say though, the battering and frying of things like okra, fries and mushrooms does not constitute actual cooking. Fried chicken isn't rocket science and when it's clearly dried out from being refried maybe several times, you have failed as a restaurant.

The host YELLED to the waitress across the room that she had another table. That form of communication seemed to be the norm as staff frequently shouted across the room to each other, Our wait staff and bus boy were very efficient and removed dishes and refilled drinks. The food was a mixed bag. The soup and salad bar were excellent. Lots of choices and well stocked. The "hot" food was in two large steam tables. One contained mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans and shrimp alfredo. All of the food in this section was cold. The other section had fried cod, fried catfish, crab cakes, fried shrimp and fried chicken. These selections were warm, but dry and a bit rubbery. During my first visited I was a little disappointed by the oysters we orders due to 3 out of the 6 of them being pretty much an empty half shell, they corrected the issue after we voiced our complaint with well sized and better looking oysters after. Other than that the drinks, appetizers and entrees came out quickly and were fantastic. The lobster roll was so delicious I got it both times I went! The calamari was some of the best cooked calamari I've had and their drinks are well crafted and I love the happy hour specials! I can see myself taking out of town visitors to this spot when we don't want to head to Chicago for great food!
