We used to go here all the time year round. It was the absolute best. Since Covid, Sharky's is awful. We keep trying it to see if it improves, but it's getting worse. Salsa tastes and looks like it came in a giant jar from Costco. Quesadillas are either frozen and reheated or made there but with the worst quality meat. Definitely from a package. Like the Perdue short cuts I give my dog. Paper plates which makes it seem more obvious they're serving you premade crap. Margaritas in glasses half the size they used to serve. The place is always empty compared to the old days of an hour wait (used to be worth the wait). So depressing. All the regular waitstaff have left. One word for this place: Nachos. They say on their menu they are known for their nachos and layering them with all of that nacho goodness, Matt J. and I found ourselves in nacho heaven. Plus they are not shy with including guac on those warm awesome house made chips either. And any place that piles on the guac on top of warm melted cheese and jalapenos is a place for me. We also found ourselves here just for drinks once too. For some reason there aren't a ton of just sit at the bar hang out spots in Oak Bluffs, but Sharky's is there for that too. Let me just start this off by saying AMAZING. I don't care how pseudo-Mexican this place is, I am THE fish taco slut, and their FISH TACOS were out of this world. What I say goes, children! I stumbled upon Sharky's on a senior week graduation event. A few friends and I went to Anderson's Bike Rentals (great guy and great service, fyi!) to rent some bikes obviously. 4 hours later, dazed and confused, we sat our swollen bicycle riding tushes down to a great meal and ice cold beers. I'm not sure if it was the sheer exhaustion or if it was my discerning palate telling me -- either way that was the best and most gratifying meal I've ever had in my 21+ years of existence. Sharky's is a casual spot on Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs that you can stop for a drink. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The drinks were good. We tried a sampling of the appetizers and came away unimpressed with the food. It would also rate higher if it was a bit cleaner. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. This place ripped us off. Visited this summer with friends when we were on Martha's Vineyard. $138 bill and left a $25 tip on the credit card receipt. I then get my credit card bill a month later and find the charge has increased to $270. Sharky's says that I added a $135 tip (more than 100%) even though they have a copy of the receipt with my handwriting that shows $25. Got the credit card company involved and they inexplicably sided with the restaurant. The food was fine, but not worth the 100% markup we are now being charged. Never go there. read more

Heyooooo nachoooo! We came here for some late night munchies, and ordered the large nachos. Our server looked wide-eyed and wanted to make sure we weren't ordering any more food for our group of 4. When the nachos came out, I could see why. The plate was stacked HIGH, chips overflowing with cheese and mounds of tasty salsa on top, with beans smashed in between. The cheese to chip ratio (or CCR, one of the most important quality indicators of the nacho) was immense. So much going on in the center, that there was barely enough time to mess with the guac and sour cream on the side. They also have a nice waitlist system arranged, where they will text you when your table is ready. Better than carrying around a buzzer! read more

My family and I discovered Sharky's a couple of years ago and it was a very pleasant surprise. Kind of small, but a fun atmosphere. Kids even receive a little toy shark upon being seated! Basic Tex-Mex fare, straightforward and tasty. Huge list of margaritas, good beer selection. And kids' meals can be ordered on a souvenir Frisbee. My only complaint? You have to exit the restaurant to use the bathroom across the way at the Sharky's Gift Shop. Not a huge deal, and it is very close, but still. But it wouldn't keep me from going! read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant on the Island. After changing ownership in 2019 the quality of food as never been the same. The guac and salsa is no longer fresh and tastes like it comes from a jar. The gigantic serving of nachos that they were known for is now half the size for the same price, and their pint glass margaritas are being served in tiny plastic cups. Sweet little spot. My wife and I enjoyed a very nice lunch here today. The staff was friendly and sweet. We order drinks and app and was to the table in no time. Atmosphere was dark and bar-like, but that's fine. It's very clean and the staff were great. Had the "small" version of nachos with all the toppings, and devoured it. It was as tall as it was wide. The "small" serving could easily serve four. I was with a friend and we had to force ourselves to get through half of the entree because we ate so much nachos. The nachos were covered in cheese, layer after layer. They definitely didn't skimp. I had the taco salad with shredded chicken, and as I mentioned above, I could barely eat half. It was a big serving, and they didn't skimp on chicken. There seemed to me a lot of melted cheese in there for a salad, but some might like that. The only downside was that I wanted to get their brownie (or cookie) sundae cooked in a skillet, but that was out of the question considering how much I ate prior. They installed a huge flat screen tv and we watched the Celtics and Lakers games, ate some great food and hung out at the corner window seats talking to the ladies. How can you beat that! Ok so two four star reviews in one day! WOW. My wife and I had fun on this weekend trip to the Vineyard and made some discoveries that made up smile and want more. Sharkies is a small cantina serving Mexican style food and drink and they do that right. For thos of you local to the South Shore it puts Sam Diegos six feet deep. Go here for dinner and great Mexican food or do what we did and stop in for a couple margarita, salsa and chips pre dinner. The margaritas were great, tasty tequila and no measured pours here. The fruit purees used are made fresh daily there and that great taste comes through. The ginger and mango varieties and my two top choices. When it comes to Mexican food my wifey and I like it HOT. They had a new salsa they make advertised as HOT HOT HOT peach, mango and habenero salsa so of course we ordered that with gauc and chips. Now imagine taking your taste buds and injecting each with adrenaline...this is what you get when you eat this awesome salsa. The fruit is obviously fresh and super sweet and the habanero comes in the back door and kicks your mouth in the sweet spot and lingers around just long enough. It is the best salsa I have ever had and I have tried many. Now the gauc is no second fiddle it too is great. My wife has tried more homemade gaucs than I and she stated it was by far the best she had ever had and I cant disagree. Really this is the spot to go pre-dinner and get the buzz going and taste buds rocking. We will return. read more

This is the first time I have lunched at Sharkey's in Oak Bluff and the second time at any Sharkey's (went in 2012 to the E'Town location). It's a cute spot with an extensive Tex Mex menu. The bar is chock full of varieties of Tequila. Our server, a student at Wake Forest was great. I am eating clean so enjoyed a grilled chicken taco salad. It was fresh and delicious. My friend was not eating clean and loved his Buffalo tenders. We had water as it was a working lunch. read more

My kids may be fans because of a name and games, however my husband and I are not. We've been to both the Edgartown location and Oaks Bluffs. Edgartown location is a bit better than Oaks bluff, but that's not saying much. Wings are decent there, but all the other apps and food we ordered was not impressive at all. The waiter also was trying to sell a specialty sugary drink to my children that was over $10 each without asking my permission. Their margaritas have way to much sour mix, so if you have acid reflex, I would stay away from them. Very commercialized place. Hard to find anything wrong to say about Sharky's apart from the bathroom situation is a pain having to go across the alley, but hey i get it, it's the Vineyard and space is at a premium, if you have extra room get more tables in there and move the bathroom outside. We were there on a relatively quiet Sunday evening which was quite a surprise in summer and were delighted to get 2 seats at the bar. Excellent drink choices served by our server Natasha who was efficient and friendly. I was delighted to see Strongbow cider served here too, bonus! We were going to have dinner but ended up on tequila, cider and nacho's, not a bad switch in my opinion! We got the steak nacho's which were piled high and served with all the usual accompaniments, guac, tomato, cheese, sour cream etc and the delicious steak was buried underneath, quite a substantial app. As mentioned service was great, the place is hoping most summer nights so everything is pretty fresh, a fun night was had by all! read more

Food was somewhat edible, enchiladas tasted bland and seemed to be in pasta sauce, not a fan. Bartender was very nice but my sharkarita had a funky taste to it. Not many seats and the waitresses seem to be to busy chatting away with either friends or the bus boys. Nachos were very bland and not flavorful. Guacamole was good but the shredded chicken just didn't seem right, like maybe it was old or canned. I was really excited to try the Macadilla, looked good on arrival, but then I had to bite into it. When you are advertising burgers in a quesadilla form, don't come at me with ground beef inside. If your advertising as burgers then I would expect there to be actual burgers in it and not your ground beef that is probably used for your taco meat. Hope your not looking for a bathroom cause they don't have one, and I needed one as soon as I was done eating. All in all it wasn't a complete disaster of a meal but no one came close to finishing there meal. They have neat ideas for food but really need help in executing those properly. read more

A group of us has being going to MV for the past five summers. We stumbled into Sharkys the first time we went to MV and continue to stumble our way back into Sharkey's. We usually have dinner here once and get drinks here once during our week on the island. In years past the place has always been packed, so getting there early and putting your name in for a table is always a good idea. The drinks and beers are very reasonably priced and they have a nice selection of beers. They serve pitchers of margarita and while this is a good deal, I'm not a huge fan. The food is pretty good, staff is friendly, and they have a few huge tv's for watching some baseball. I definitely recommend the burritos and chimichangas. They are big enough to fill up on and then take the other half for lunch to the beach the next day. Check out the souvenir shop, where they have cool t-shirts with new designs and style each year. After spending $160+ on riding the ferry with our car to visit Martha's Vineyard for a day, we thought the $13.99 Chimichanga was a huge chuck of change we didn't have. However, Sharky's Cantina has the best deal on Chips & Dips. Freshly fried tortilla chips with pico de gallo salsa for only $2.99. It's a huge bag of chips + an ice cream cup full of salsa. Not the tiny sauce cup usually given by other standard establishment. It was very tasty and we took the chips and salsa onto the green lawn by Ocean Avenue. Great picnic. We did also get a pulled chicken burrito for $9.99. It's a bit more expensive than ones sold in Boston but it was densely packed and weighed about a pound, definitely "sharing sized".
