The hubby and I visited Sharky's shortly after we moved to the area. I had 10 teriyaki wings and he had the chicken parm sub. I thoroughly enjoyed my wings, they were not breaded, fried to a nice crisp, with a tasty sauce. A full 100% better than that other wing place that everyone knows about. The ranch was not homemade obviously, but was of good quality. The hubby was less than impressed with his sub, mainly because of the sauce that was on it, but it was edible, just not a favorite. He wasn't turned off from the place, he just knows to choose a different item. That day the soda machine wasn't working, which gave a good excuse to have a beer instead and the staff was doing as much as possible about getting different drink choices in the building. What impressed us, was that as we were about to leave, the owner saw new faces and came over to introduce herself and chit chat. Haven't been in years.....popped in quick and grabbed a buffalo soldier and a beer. Service is always quick and good, beer is cold, food is a lot better then you would expect from looking at it from the outside. Def worth a stop in and check it out. We go here for take out about once a week. Yesterday our order was really poorly cooked. Everything was over fried and dried out. Horribly dry. The bottom of the pizza was black and bitter. Not from being burned...it was dirty from the oven. YUCK! And the garlic knots were burnt. I'm not kidding. We have very few options around here, but when the cook is this horrible why go and spend good money for junk? It's bad for us anyway, so probably a blessing. Very low key and perfect for the beach. Real, not contrived rustic beach vibe. But you come here for the food. Well prepared, they know what they're doing. RUDE. With the whole covid19 issue, the family was itching to get out of the house and drive over to a picnic area by the beach to eat outdoors. Sharky's is closest sandwich shop to North Beach in Fort Pierce so we tried to call to verify they were open during the shut down. No one answered the phone after several calls, but we decided to head over to the beach and if they were closed, we would just find somewhere else to go. We arrived to see an "open" sign in the window, and a notice posted on their door about only 1 person at a time going inside to order. My husband, myself, and 2 kids got out to look at the menu posted on the door, and a very RUDE lady comes to the door and starts yelling at us that we cannot ALL come inside. I was taken aback and really wanted to leave, but being that there is really nothing else over there we decided to order. The plan was to have the kids tell me what they wanted and I would go inside and order...once again the rude lady comes out and says "are you going to order or what?" and "you cannot all come in here". I politely responded that I understood that and we were TRYING to decide what to order. Just very nasty and made us feel like we were putting her out by coming in to order food. With daily specials and a great beer selection, I look forward to coming here every time I make it upcoast. This is a surfers spot for sure with walls lined of killer barrels of rider's conquering them. A stones throw from Ft. Pierce Inlet state park, this is the best spot to hit after a surf Sesh. Cool and friendly staff, the place has a down home and local feel to it. Leave all attitudes at door and you will be treated great by some southern hospitality. Chicken Parm is a solid fan favorite, as well as the Black&Blue burger. When on Specials, go for Grouper Fingers, they are flame. What has pulled me back time& time again however is their great beer selection, both on draft, WIth kona Fire Rock Pale ale as well as the Dogfishhead 60 min IPA in bottle. Prices are super fair also with 3.50 for both aforementioned beers. P.s extra star goes to the owners bringing back DOgfish head on my suggestion. read more

For the small pace that it is the food is awesome!! I had the perfectly cooked and prepared Jerk Mahi sandwich, my son had the Bonzai burger and the wife had the Yellowfin tuna sandwich. Sharky's has been around a long time and we've always enjoyed their food. We went Sunday night and had the clam strips and okra. Both of them were good. We ordered a chicken parmigiana sub and a Tiger Shark sub to take home. I am sad to say that both of these subs had no flavor. Was visiting the Navy Seal museum and needed a lunch place. Order at the counter and grab a seat. Food was serviceable if a bit bland but it was fine. Not terribly expensive. Counter servers were friendly and nice. Place is a little unassuming hole in the wall. Had the Mahi based on some other reviews. It was good but a little bland ( I had it grilled) maybe the blackened is the way to go. read more

After a long day at the beach yesterday, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by this place because the prices seemed fair and the reviews looked great. That and it was right next to the beach/park's entrance which was convenient. We walk in and the place is small but looked like your typical bar hangout. We were told to grab a menu and then picked out a booth to sit at. After ordering our waters and putting in our orders, everything seemed fine. The mozzarella sticks we ordered were crispy on the outside with gooey cheese on the inside. The water tasted a bit odd (almost sweet?) to me but I disregarded that since I had been getting over a cold and figured it was probably just my taste buds coming back to life. After not too bad of a wait, my chicken tenders and my boyfriend's fish sandwich arrived. My taste palate is as adventurous as a small child's so I usually go for the safest option when I go to a new restaurant, so I figured chicken tenders should be easy enough for them to get right. However, I was surprised to be wrong. The tenders were hard to break apart and tasted dry and flavorless--as tasty as a glass of warm water. Figuring it was just my taste buds being weird again, I asked my boyfriend to confirm that they tasted like nothing, and he agreed that they weren't good. I kept eating the one small piece of tender out of the four that they gave me in hopes of tasting something. I even sprinkled some salt and pepper on them to give them some sort of flavor, but still, nothing. Disappointed and unsure of what to do, I contemplated sending them back in hopes of being able to get something else. Let me preface this next section by saying I /never/ return anything no matter how dissatisfied I may be with it. I have only ever returned one thing during my restaurant endeavors because it was absolutely horrible and inedible, but that's another story. However, I had to send this back. I didn't want to pay $9 for chicken tenders that tasted like dry air. The waitress we had seemed nice enough, so I thought this wouldn't be an issue. Boy, was I wrong. I'm a nervous person so my boyfriend told her for me that I wasn't happy with what I ordered and if I could just get a grilled cheese sandwich, but the look on her face told me that this was going to be an issue. I tried explaining why I didn't like them as nicely as I could, and she told me that the owner probably wouldn't be able to take it off the bill, which I didn't understand considering every place I've been to does that whether it's a local restaurant or big chain. I sat there with my barely-touched tenders in embarrassment as she walked away to ask the owner if she could do that. She came back and asked me again what the problem was and I was so embarrassed that I just wanted to tell her to forget it and I'd just pay for them and leave. She took them away after I told her I'd just have a grilled cheese sandwich (I figured this was an easy enough thing to make) and I'd be fine. She takes the tenders away and I figure that is that. No. Another waitress comes by and asks me what is wrong. I figure this is the manager, but who knows since she never introduced herself. I told her why I wasn't happy with the tenders, and she tells me, "oh, really? I think they're actually delicious!" I wanted to tell her that maybe that was so, that she thought they were God's gift to their restaurant, but for me, they were tasteless and just not good. This is coming from someone who enjoys eating the blandest of foods. She walks away. I thought that as a customer, my opinion of what I ordered and am paying for should matter, but I guess their opinion trumps mine. My waitress came back and told me that she thinks she gave me teriyaki sauce instead of BBQ sauce and maybe that's why I didn't like them. I told her no, I didn't like the actual tenders, not the sauce. As I'm explaining that she just walks away. I felt extremely embarrassed at this point and very dissatisfied with their service and how I was being treated. I finally get my grilled cheese and thank my waitress and she ignores me, asking my boyfriend if he's done eating and takes his stuff away. I quickly eat and go up to pay and find out that they never took the tenders off my check. No one told me that me ordering the grilled cheese wouldn't replace the tenders, which was lovely. My waitress never came back to tell me they couldn't do it. The lady at the register that happened to be my waitress told me sorry and I paid and was on my way. I won't be returning. read more

A great place to eat & directly across A1A from the beach. After our evening walk on the beach, we decided to eat here. Our first impression wasn't great because the ambience is like a small, dimly lit pizzeria. If atmosphere is not overly important to you ( it wasn't to us as we were in shorts & t-shirts ), don't be put off, because the food is done right & delicious. To start off we had conch fritters & fried okra. The conch fritters were the best I have ever had. The fried okra perfectly prepared with fresh okra. We all decided to have burgers since we hadn't had beef all week & the next day was Good Friday. I am snobby about my burgers & will not eat at fast food burger places because "hockey puck" frozen patties suck. We ordered the half pound burgers & were presented with hand formed, perfectly cooked, juicy, hot burger excellence! We devoured them. The fries were ok ( frozen crinkle cut), but the onion rings were excellent. Everything was served in plastic baskets with wax paper. Again, atmosphere is not the strong point here (and the reason for four stars instead of five). But, if you are looking for an unpretentious, inexpensive, local place with excellently prepared food right by the beach, you MUST stop here! read more

It's the 4th of July. 2 families...a total of 7. We walk in at 5:05. The sign out front says closing at 6, that'd be plenty of time. We walk in and the waitress says , "pick up?" We say, "no, dine in." She says, "you know we close at 6, the sign says it outside." We turned and walked out with the cooks and her cheering that we left. With 4 adults and 3 teenagers, we would spent at least $125. It's order at the counter...plenty of time. If they wanted off by 6 the should've closed earlier. Food is ok. But expect to pay as much as you might at Chucks or a nicer sit down restaurant where someone takes your order instead of your having to go to the counter, order, pay, and wait. So if you want another beer or anything more..go to counter again they run your card again. Also expect to be ridiculously nicked and dimed. Pay 15$ for mahi buffalo bites and get charged a dollar extra for about two table spoons of blue cheese dressing. Substitute onion rings for fries and pay another dollar extra when there's only a 50c difference on the menu. Also- don't expect Splenda...bring your own. The food is ok...but you're paying nice sit down restaurant prices at a fast food type set up and nickels and dimes you all the way. read more
