So far I've only been here for breakfast foods. Their breakfast sandwiches are decent but nothing special. I usually get the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. One thing I really do like is their hash browns. It's not and crispy squares of potatoes. Their pancakes are soft and fluffy by doesn't take any better than Ihop or Denny's. They have grilled cinnabuns, too. I don't recommend them. They are like frozen cinnabuns and also very dry. I would not order them again. They also have what's called Sharky's hot sauce. It's more like a sweet chili sauce. It's very sweet and not spicy at all. For a good fast bite to eat this is a good option. I pretty much eat at Sharky's every morning. Coffee is on the house with your breakfast. I hear that their Cubans are very good. I still need to try it so hopefully soon! read more

We were at Sharky's for breakfast on Friday, July 2nd and had a wonderfully positive experience. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and kind. We asked for a few changes and they prepared our meals exactly as requested. The food was delicious and worth the wait. They cook everything fresh, nothing is pre made so be patient, the food is worth it. It is evident the owner and his staff work very hard. We will definitely go back. read more

The food is super tasty and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and service you are getting. We tried a few places for breakfast in Dewey and Rehoboth and this was our favorite. Skip this place. I gave them a shot in July 2019, back then you ordered through a window and they gave you a number to set on your table and brought it out to you. Way overpriced and there was hair in a couple bites of my pancakes. Gross. We decided to give it another shot for breakfast this July, now apparently they seat you... so much worse. The host sat our party of 4 at the "bar top", which was literally the posts holding up the porch facing the street, definitely not able to have a conversation, but whatever. Two picnic tables got sat immediately after us, waiter was over within minutes to take both of their whole orders. We sat there for 20 minutes without anyone approaching us before I got up to say something to the host. The tables who had their orders taken STILL had no drinks and the two tables behind us still hadn't had their food OR drinks and they had ordered before we sat down. The waiter came over, I ordered my meal and he asked about a drink, to which I said I wouldn't be ordering one since I wouldn't get it til after the meal came. The drinks are EXPENSIVE. $8 for OJ. $5 for coffee. Only bottled water for $3/bottle. Smoothies are offered, cheapest was $11. Our hotel is right next door so I figured I'd get a drink when we left. My boyfriend ordered his meal and THEN the waiter lets us know it'll be at least 25-30 minutes for food. Like maybe if we hadn't waited 20 minutes to just be acknowledged. As we were leaving the tables behind us just got their food and had to REORDER their drinks. Like wtf. We left and went to Starboard 5 minutes down the street. Was amazing. Not a huge menu but I ordered a sausage egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin and it was fantastic. Not too dry, real eggs that were cooked on the spot (Not frozen and then reheated), and the English muffin was toasted separately before the sandwich was assembled. If you need a quick breakfast then check this place out! My only complain was that 8 FL OZ of chocolate milk is barely a mouthful for any young adult. read more

Hole in the wall indeed. Stopped in for breakfast with the gf and she ordered the pancakes. I heard good things on yelp about the Cuban sandwich and not so good things about their breakfast food so I thought let's see if they make sandwiches at 9am. Turns out they do. After ordering at the window we took a seat at their outdoor deck, which is the only option available. They offer free coffee, which I thought was a nice perk. The food came out about 10 minutes later. The 2 pancakes comes with a syrup packet on a styrofoam plate. The pancakes were fluffy, but dry and needed every last ounce of syrup. 2 stars. The Cuban does not come on Cuban bread, but it is still tasty and a good portion of meat. The sandwich comes with a bag of ruffles. I'd give it 3 stars -- not sure how anyone could give it a 5. 2 stars for the pancakes, 3 stars for the sandwich and a 1/2 star bump for the free coffee. Sharky's is good for that quick breakfast, Cuban sandwich hankering, free coffee, or dog friendly spot. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but you could do a lot worse. read more

Walked by this place when I was super hungover. I was searching for something starchy, fatty and yummy. I found it! I got the biscuits and sausage gravy. The biscuits were bomb! The sausage gravy was a bit salty and lacking on the sausage but tasty nonetheless. Home fries were nicely seasoned and tender. Very cool outdoor counter service joint for someone looking to cure their hangover or swing off the beach quick for a bite to eat. read more

Checked this place out for breakfast based on seeing 'free coffee' in some reviews. Alas, that was under the last management. But our breakfast was good. We stuck with something basic, the French Toast with a side of fried eggs and some toast. It was more than enough to feed both of us, at about $11.50. Nothing to write home about, but decent food. So disappointed! We picked up Cubans from here recently, just as we do every time we visit Dewey. We heard that Sharky's was under new management, but we didn't expect things to have changed as much as they did. The cubans used to be amazing! It was the recent we fell in love with Sharky's to begin with. Unfortunately, we ended up throwing away most of the food we got there recently. The cubans that were served to us had no mustard, were barely pressed, and most offensively, they had shredded pork mixed with BBQ sauce! It was almost as if they had extra they were trying to get rid of so they just threw it on the cubans hoping nobody would notice. Sad :( read more

Last year the Cubani had was worthy of 5 stars. What I had today, while tasty, wasn't a Cuban. It had a very thin layer of pulled pork, some cheese and 3 or 4 pickles - no ham, no mustard. This place has delicious food! We ate here 4 times during our beach trip. Sandwiches are fresh and perfect to take to the beach. Breakfast all day! My kids had huge pancakes and loved them. Great burgers and their salads are incredibly fresh, with homemade dressing. Portions are huge. They also have nitro coffee and a casual eating space outdoors. read more

We read that this place was pet friendly and since we had our dog with us on our beach trip we thought we would give it a try for breakfast. First impression was very positive as we were cheerfully greeted at the door by Sharky himself. I was surprised when I ordered a coffee and he pointed me in the direction of his coffee station and said... "Coffee is free here"... Although we only ordered a couple of breakfast sandwiches and some hash browns.. which were great... I really wanted to let everyone know this place is super friendly and it's obvious Sharky really cares about the customer. Another patron told us they swear by the steak and cheese every time they come to the beach. It's great to see there are still some restaurants that really enjoy a friendly chat with the customer while providing good food. read more

No dogs hanging out by the steps. No free coffee. No Sharkey's fried egg sandwiches. They really should have changed the name. Don't bother asking any questions. Staff is rude and mechanical. I really wanted to like this place, I mean they're pet friendly and have free coffee and the owner seems to be a nice guy. However, the food was overpriced and under-flavored. I ordered an egg and bacon sandwich on wheat toast and hubby ordered a cuban, which you would think would be delicious since there are signs suggesting you try one, leading one to believe that it's their specialty. I was actually quite shocked when I unwrapped my sandwich to add salt and pepper and discovered this sad, thin fried egg topped with a circular piece of bacon. The bacon was tasteless and the egg had no flavor whatsoever, I had to add an ungodly amount of salt just to make it edible. Hubby's cuban was just okay, nothing to write home about, unlike the one he had a few weeks prior at another establishment. The one saving grace to the whole meal as the hash brown potato chunks, they were hot and quite tasty. To add insult to injury Sharky's doesn't accept credit cards so I had to pay $3 to use the ATM conveniently located in the makeshift restaurant. It's pretty bad when you find yourself saying I wish we had gone to McDonalds. I gave it 2 stars because it's dog friendly and the owner was very hospitable. read more

Sharky's is a Dewey institution, but sadly, it seems they have changed ownership and fallen off quickly. We stopped in for breakfast and I noticed that they had a new sign and now accept credit cards. That should have been my first indication that Sharky wasn't the captain of this ship anymore. The coffee bar was still set out front but instead of the free coffee of old, now they charge $2.50 for a small styrofoam cup. Outrageous. My two daughters each got a single (not very good) pancake and split a side of bacon. My husband and I each got a breakfast sandwich and split a side of home fries. Our food was FORTY ONE DOLLARS. Sharky's was always a bit pricey but over $10 a person for a simple takeout breakfast is out of control. The sandwiches had scrambled eggs instead of fried. No more Sharky's hot sauce. We were attacked by flies for our whole meal, which isn't their fault as an outdoor place, but was never something I've experienced there before. I don't dare go back for what was our favorite Sharky's meal, the Cuban. The end of an era. What a disappointment. I will say the food was made quickly, but that's probably thanks to the decline in quality. There wasn't a familiar face in the house. I'm so sad that one of our favorite Dewey staples is now off our list of must do's when we are in town. To be fair......the service was good, everyone working was kind and efficient, and the sandwiches were decent, albeit expensive for what you get. But it's not what we have become accustomed to, and that is why we probably won't return. read more

This place is a must for all visitors to Dewey. We go here every time we come down, and always make time for it. The owner, Sharky, is always out talking to his customers, which makes it much more personal. It's all outdoor seating (well, there is a roof...) but it's worth it. Great food. I always get the Cheese Steak, but my brother insists the Cuban Press is the best item on the menu. Sharky's also has the best shakes. If you're in the area, Sharky's is the best place for lunch in Dewey. Don't miss it. read more

I was thoroughly unimpressed with my breakfast today. I would much rather have preferred McDonald's. The fruit was defrosted from frozen fruit bags and the meat was rubbery. The quality of the food was a disappointment. Everyone raves about how great the breakfast is but the food was horrible, like it was straight off the Sysco truck. This is our go-to spot in Dewey Beach for breakfast and lunch. If Sharky's were open for dinner, we would eat there as well. The crab melt (basically like a tuna melt, but with crab meat) is so wonderful! I wish I could eat that in NYC and didn't need to drive all the way to Delaware for it...but it's worth it. This place still has good food ... but is trending downward. The place is fun, outdoor, friendly place to go. I love that the owner is always there making sure that everyone gets what they need ... but this place used to be great and now is merely average. The food is still good and everyone loves a free coffee but I used to go there for the milkshakes which used to be the bomb. Not anymore. The last time my breakfast burrito was excellent but the service was slow, slow, slow and the place was not even crowded. And my milkshake which used to be great was the worst I ever had (chocolate milk blended with ice). Sharky, I hope you read this review notice most the 5star reviews were from a couple of years ago and get your business back to the awesome place this used to be. read more

This is not a high end restaurant, it doesn't try to be. It is a high end food shack and the owner makes a statement by being there to help out, serving free coffee and being dog friendly. Sharkey is not making a killing here he's just getting by, so cut him a little slack. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. Hungry and needing a place to eat ASAP we pulled in here because the Cuban sandwich sign enticed my friend. We didn't notice anything negative when ordering, although I thought the prices were a bit steep- $8.99 for a cheeseburger nothing included with that. I ordered a Diet Coke, it was flat. Once we sat down and waited for our food flies were everywhere. We asked to turn on this huge fan near us to see if that would help. It didn't. Once we got our food we moved to a different area and we were swarmed. It was something out of a horror movie. It was obvious what was going on the other patrons were wigged out. I'm talking 15 flies around one person all over our food. I threw mine in a to go box and hightailed it out of there. My friends scarfed theirs down, may have ate a fly, definitely fly germs. I ate the fries that I paid 1.50 extra for and threw the burger out. Something should be done to help with through problem. There are traps, etc. But this establishment did not care.
