I stayed here right before New Year's. The room was beautiful. Big soaking tub, fireplace, big king sized bed. The view of the mountain was nice when I came outside the room. BIG NEGATIVE: NO restaurant or bar anymore. They have closed and will not be re-opening, according to the text message I got on my way there to check in. And, the people in the next room had three kids that made a bunch of noise until 11pm. On day two, someone checked into the rooms past me with kids that were running by and sounded like a heard of elephants at night and first thing in the morning. Without the neighbors it was peaceful and nice. You have to drive into McCloud to get food, however. Closing the lounge/restaurant was a huge mistake, IMHO. read more

Staying at Shasta View Lodge was good and Bad, the good the rooms where spacious and bathrooms where clean with all the toilet condiment's. The coffee was great. The bad, the fans above had so much cobwebs and dust we had to shut the fans off because the dust and webs where falling on the bed. We were in room 2. The sheets on the bed where terrible, we are use to cotton and the sheets on the bed where a different material and felt weird and couldn't sleep, the next day we had to go in town and buy king cotton sheets. I dropped my computer mouse and went under the bed, and under the bed had paper and full of heavy dust. My wife has allergy and this room didn't help. The air conditioner you couldn't adjust the fan output only the temperature, with no fan control it was hard to hear the TV. read more

Staying here for a night and also had dinner and a beer at the restaurant. Room (#1 for us) was very clean, updated, and comfortable. The view of Shasta from yard area is fantastic. Food was excellent. We got the seafood pasta and chicken piccata with side salads. Great flavor and large portions. Also had some good craft brew selections. The hospitality is what puts this place above the rest. From providing accommodations for our dog (bed, blanket & bowls), to the immaculate room, this is a place you must visit. What a lovely lodge! We didn't have the opportunity to eat in the restaurant, but greatly enjoyed the lodging. Two roomy floors, 3 beds, two bathrooms. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Some nice little touches such as plates and cutlery and dish soap under the sink. The person I was in touch with via text was nice, though I did not meet them in person as the whole transaction was non-contact due to covid. McCloud is a lovely quiet little town and you'll get a marvelous view of Mount Shasta from here. I plan on staying here again next time I'm in the area. read more

We spent a week here in one of the suites. It worked perfectly for our family of four. There were two beds in the upstairs bedroom, one for each daughter, and one king bed in the living space downstairs. We made full use of the kitchen. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the location was a wonderful base camp for seeing Mt. Shasta, MacArthur-Burney Falls, all three McCloud Falls, and even Shasta Caverns. It's even pretty convenient for getting dinners from the town of Mount Shasta. (Not much food in the town of McCloud except for some decent burgers and a small but reasonably stocked grocery store; we ate breakfasts in the room and made lunches for picnics.) I would definitely stay again if I returned to the area. read more

The locals call this place "The Lodge." They don't serve breakfast or lunch, but their dinners cannot be beat. The steak sandwich is amazing and the soups are made from scratch. It's my favorite place in McCloud to eat. Scott can cook your steak to perfection. SO good!!!!! read more

Adorable! The room was very comfortable and inviting. The dog bed blankets and treats were an extra special touch! I was very disappointed because they have a gorgeous outdoor area with a little "creek" amazing view of Mt Shasta but there was nothing there No tables chairs or fire pit etc... We were in McCloud on my husband's birthday. We had been on a camping road trip. I am so glad McCloud has a nice restaurant we could go to for dinner. It was a nice change from swatting mosquitoes at camp. Atmosphere was casual, but nice. My husband had the ribeye and I had fish and chips. Generous portions. My daughter Becky lives in McCloud..says all restaurants are 5 star and this one is! I had the New York Steak..excellent quality and good price..took some home. You can't be disappointed. We went about 7pm on Friday..it was busy...however on Sunday about 5pm..the lot was full and across the street was lined w/cars..so you might need a reservation..check first. read more

Ate here the first night of our visit. Split the garlic bread (skip it - the free bread and butter is better) and the ribeye (cooked perfectly and served with yummy veggies and a HUGE potato).
