Just flew in from Phoenix. Saw this breakfast joint had 4 stars so felt we would be in good shape. Wrong. Ordered salmon Benedict with breakfast potatoes. Received a regular Benedict, no salmon. Told the server. She said, "Oh, I thought you said "same" Benedict as my wife. Nope. Maybe confirm the orders before running off? Bloody Mary's weren't worth the $5, neither was the Mimosa. Brought new order with salmon and brought hash h browns and not breakfast potatoes. Told the server. No apology just, "okay, I'll bring you some breakfast potatoes." No sweet and low or Splenda. Just sugar. One napkin per customer. Took my fork with mistaken order. Never brought replacement fork. Really sad. Not returning. Very unhappy with our experience. read more

My husband and I decided to take a chance and visit this place. Seems like there is always a good crowd going on here. Here's what i ordered, corned beef hash with eggs and toast. My husband ordered a chorizo burrito. His was very tasty and a huge portion. My order came with a piece of toast, a good portion of corned beef hash and two eggs. My husband was really pleased with his and i took a bite of his and it was very good. Can't say the same for mine, it was quite possibly the worst corned beef hash that I've ever had. I don't even know what they did with this but it was mushy and I could not figure out what the taste was, but i know this, it wasn't corned beef hash. And one small piece of toast, hmmm...not really thrilled with this place. I'm not sure what the big hype is on why it's so good but to each their own. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go back here. read more

How happy am I to have a good diner right around the core we from my condo? Been to Shelly's twice and had two good experiences so far. Decent diner coffee, friendly service, bottomless soft drinks...what more can you ask for pot of a diner. Oh and the food is good as well. Amazing house made potato salad. I googled breakfast places near Seattle airport and this popped up. It's a hidden little old fashion diner. The service was great and the owner along with her son was working this morning. The coffee was great! My husband loved his biscuits and gravy, it was a huge portion. I got the corned beef hash breakfast. Wasn't the biggest fan of the corned beef but her homemade biscuits are to die for! They are also good about keeping your coffee hot and topped off. Overall a fun little nook if your looking for a local diner with a big variety menu. I would definitely go back for breakfast again... beats Denny's and ihop for sure!!!! read more

The customer service here is amazing, our coffee cups are never empty. Always greeted with a smile and the few times we did have to wait the staff was always attentive and courteous. What can I say except that I LOVE this place!! I would eat here everyday if I could. Clean, excellent service, fair prices. The food selection is phenomenal, traditional and vegetarian!! My boyfriend and I rarely go out to eat but decided that we wanted to go out for breakfast this morning. I went on yelp to see if there was a good place near us. The reviews for Sally's were mostly very good so we figured we would give it a try. BIG MISTAKE!!! We both got what we thought would be a no brainer breakfast of bacon and eggs. He had scrambled with hash browns and I had over-medium with house potatoes. I can't even begin to explain the hash browns. They look so greasy and mushy. My eggs were cooked ok but no flavor. The house potatoes were disgusting. They tasted like they were deep fried in burnt cooking oil. Everything I touched was sticky and the place just felt dirty. The service was ok, but nothing special. It is pretty bad when you sit down in a restaurant and the first joke your boyfriend makes is about E.coli. read more

This is a great little spot for breakfast. We mainly chose it because it had vegan biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy were, to quote my boyfriend, pretty good. He could tell that it was made from coconut milk and it was only slightly off in flavor. I ordered the Paul's pile. It was made with two eggs over crumbled bacon, spinach, swiss cheese and red potatoes. It was very delicious and filling. Oh, and the coffee was brewed perfectly. That's what we had this morning. On our way out, we saw that they also made a wide variety of milkshakes. So later this evening, we rolled on back and ordered a couple. Thick and creamy and absolutely wonderful. Our inaugural visit. I forgot I had this place bookmarked and planned to be in this area so we ended up here. My dear friend i like to call Schmuckie n i came in around 1ish on a Friday afternoon so famished. Lots of selections of food. At first I was dead set on having lunch but instead my appetite leaned on a lunchish breakfast. You will find something that will please your appetite. I chose a prawns and mushrooms Benedict customized atop a soft smooth biscuit topped with a decadent hollandaise that smelled so good, one deep whiff sent shudders across my body from the awakening of my senses and now salivating palate. Food was delicious. I described it as OMG Fucking huge portions. I mean mine was massive. I mean the biscuits- you get two very ample ones and I also noted with very large eggs. I finished one then moved my fork in to find that whole other mound of biscuit that was under my second egg and hollandaise. They didn't skimp on the medium sized prawns either. My potato choice was hash browns. Make sure you get that strawberry freezer jam in the container for the biscuit. I was toggling my biscuit between savory and sweet. The ranch dressing was bottled, so not good, but next time I will get sour cream and green onions for my potatoes and make a loaded hash brown. The prawns were good, kind of bland though and firmer than I like. But i think I'd try maybe a sausage and shrooms Benedict. This place passed my leftovers test. Still yummy after a few hours. Really glad we decided to try this place out. Will definitely bring my inSO here. It's only about 1 mile south of Kush so this is a great feeding hole. I think he will enjoy a sunrise with his meal I think I would like to try a bloody Mary with my next meal. If you like coffee, they use Vashon coffee roasters beans making really good Joe. I had 4 cups. Definitely can't wait to come back. Maybe earlier. Excellent service. Servers were friendly and on the ball. I had everything I needed. This is a smaller cozy, hole in the wall with a full bar in the back. They seem to only 1 dedicated server and the manager who helps out. It was not too busy when we were there and although they handled things well at our time of service, I can imagine it could be hectic when it gets super busy. They close at 3 so get there well before that so you can relax and enjoy your meal. Will see at our next visit if it stays a solid 4 1/2 stars, improves, or the sauce weakens. read more

We visited Shelley's for breakfast. They had a substantial breakfast menu. I ordered the Baja Omelet with Bacon. This omelet had wall to wall real bacon crumbles inside and was cooked perfectly. Some bacon omelets you either get bacon bits (not real bacon) or you just get one strip of bacon cut up four times so that not every bite contains the taste of bacon. Not here! It also came with a large helping of sour cream and homemade guacamole. Can't recommend this breakfast enough! And I loved the homemade freezer jam! Our waitress was very friendly and provided excellent service as well. Prices were reasonable. We will be back. read more

Probably the most awful food I've had while in Seattle area. Server seemed like she was inconvenienced that customers were here at 6:30 pm on a weeknight. She forgot my salad, and it came at same time as entree. The chicken peppercorn is not tasty. It's waaaaaaay over salted and the rice it comes with was undercooked. I've been here before for take out, this morning was the first day coming to dine in. I normally don't ever write posts about restaurants and if we don't like the place we don't go back. The food is pretty good but my main reason for writing this review was this place was a mess and totally unsanitary with flocks of flies all over the restaurant. The floors were disgusting and needed to be swept! The fact was the flies were everywhere, just think flies land on crap then possibly on your food, they Carry shigella and all kinds of other nasty diseases, the thought is just repulsive! So glad to see a new "go to" restaurant in the area. Had breakfast there this morning. You can get any of their omelets as a scramble with house potatoes on the side or as a jumble which is all mixed up. Very delicious . Prices are reasonable. They have a nice variety of meals, serve breakfast most of the day and dinner is 4 to 10. Staff is young, friendly and inspired. Coffee was great and Shelly still has her famous raspberry freezer jam and biscuits. Only now seedless which is a bonus. Can't wait to go back and try lunch and dinner. read more

Like other reviews, the structure of the restaurant is older but didn't really bother us and isn't something super noticable. It was surprisingly expensive, I thought the $$ was in reference to the more sophisticated dishes (i.e. Banana Foster French Toast) but it applied to even the basic breakfast sandwich items. Be warned, my over easy eggs had really runny whites that weren't set. They did bring our food out quickly and the creamsicle milkshake was AMAZING, but price-wise I'd come here for a specific dish rather than just a nice breakfast. I have been here twice, and both times got horrible food I couldn't eat. The Monte Cristo was really doughy. All I could do is pick the meat out of it and eat that. Decided to give it a 2nd Chance, and ordered chicken fried steak. The gravy was really thin and soaked the coating so it fell off the steak. Just awful. My wife and I are from south Georgia and we heard that Shelly's was good southern food. This has definitely become our favorite restaurant, in this area. Everything we've eaten here is top notch and the service is truly southern hospitality. I highly recommend Shelly's biscuits with their special raspberry jam. This restaurant has become one of my wife and my favorite breakfast joints. Located in a small strip mall, the atmosphere is fairly generic. But the food is very, very good. I have tried many of the breakfast plates such as the Corned Beef Hash, Hangtown Fry, Lumberjack, Kitchen Sink (all with the country potatoes) as well as the Fish and Chips for lunch. The food is good here. I had biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon. The gravy was delicious and the biscuits were smooth and soft. Eggs cooked to order and bacon crispy just how I like. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Now, I have issues with the cleanliness of the restaurant. Y'all really need to deep clean your restaurant. When I've been in there the blinds were dusty, as well as the floor looks like it's not cleaned very well. Even the bathroom floor and walls are scummy. Gross. Also there was a "service dog" (not) in the booth next to us. Ew. I understand the predicament but it grossed me out along with seeing pet hair and dirt on the floor. My friend pulled a hair out of her food also. The host with the ponytail is rude. I like the food but I won't come back if it's dirty in the restaurant. read more

A nice old-style cafe tucked into a quiet neighborhood in Normandy Park. Breakfast and lunch served al day. I had the, "This and That" - half Eggs Benedict and half Biscuits and Gravy. The "super sweet cute elderly ladies" had not been waiting 40 minutes because we had only been there a total of 40 minutes. From the time we sat down ordered and paid it had only been 40 minutes. The women had been waiting maybe 10 minutes at most. We were sitting at a 4 person table, not the only large table you had in the place. And if you needed the table for large groups you should not have sat us there. Also, the only table you offered us to move and the only available table at the time was only big enough to sit 2 people, not 3. I think it is very sad that you are not owning up and taking responsibility for your poor choices and horrible customer service. You had the ability to make this right, but again are choosing to blame your customer, bad choice. read more
