This is a fabulous location to walk the Freedom Trail. I picked this hotel because it was in the middle of town. We stayed from Sunday to Thursday, Memorial Day weekend. It was super crowded everywhere on Sunday & Monday, other days were great. Our room had two queen beds and they were comfortable. Air conditioning worked just fine. We had a stool, it's the checkered item in the picture, a comfy chair, not pictured, mini fridge, coffee maker, safe and open closet. There were no drawers for our clothes. We lived out of our suit cases. We pulled out our pjs every night and outfit for the next day. This was the only Hyatt property I've had this issue. All employees were nice & friendly. The entrance in the later evening was the valet door which was a little wonky. The other door was locked from the outside but unlocked from the indoors. We paid for two nights and used points for the other two. It was easy to Lyft to and from the airport & alley. We had a super time staying here because it was a great location and the hotel was nice and clean. read more

Rooms in this hotel are clean and functional, but very small without a desk or sufficient closet space. Staff are very nice and the downstairs coffee bar is good. The bathroom had no counter space and the shower pressure was pitiful, but the bathroom was clean. They need a magnifying mirror in the bathroom and more towel hooks (there was only one). Overall it was an adequate place to stay but not special or desirable. read more

I stayed at the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston for a work meeting, and I have to admit, the location is fantastic. It is right in the heart of the city, surrounded by incredible restaurants, historic charm, and an energy that makes you want to explore. I took the bus and train from the airport and arrived in less than 30 minutes to the hotel. The front desk staff was super nice, and I really appreciated the assistance with my bags. The rooms are perfect for work or vacation. I liked the lighting, the large TV, the bathroom amenities, and the big windows that opened for fresh air. In the middle of my stay, I realized how quiet and comfortable the hotel feels, which is rare for such a central location. The gym had everything I needed, and there is even a small store for sundries. The breakfast was good, and I had the breakfast burrito. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

This hotel is just not...nice. The room is the smallest that I've ever stayed in and I travel A LOT for work. There is no actual bathroom separation and the shower is literally right next to the front door. The layout is terrible and weird. There is no parking so you are forced to pay $70 for their valet. PER DAY. It was so bad that I could not check out fast enough after staying 1 night when I had planned to stay for 3 nights. And, the icing on the cake, as others mentioned they attempt to be SHADY with billing. When I checked out the guy at the front desk said he was able to help "adjust" my checkout day. His "adjustment" billed me for 2 nights when I only stayed 1. He tried to play it off as if he was giving me a discount. When I pressed he then changed and said it was an "early checkout charge". I told him that I will not be paying that because I was checking out before checkout time, to which he responded that he will do me a favor and waive the fee "just this time". Umm no, that is not how it works. Avoid this hotel. 2 stars only for the cool bar area and service there. read more

The rooms are quite small, but we were lucky to meet David James at the guest services desk. He truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home, providing excellent tips on parking, local dining, and entertainment. Unfortunately, the rest of the service was a different story. Most staff members wouldn't even acknowledge us. The lowest point was on my birthday; when I asked a guest service representative about the free breakfast, he began explaining the policy so loudly that it felt like he was trying to belittle me in front of the entire lobby. When I offered my license to verify my birthday, he refused to even look at it. It was incredibly embarrassing and a real shame to be treated that way. I eventually just had to walk away. Upon arrival they give you free water battles in the lobby. The check-In experience was easy and the people were super friendly. The room was small but very nice. There were so many beautiful floor to ceiling windows that made the room nice and bright. The bedroom space was nice and open. The bathroom was nice butthere was no door separating the sink and shower space from the main bedroom. But overall if you want a chic and stylish hotel in the center of Boston, than I highly recommend Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston!! read more

This Hyatt property is centrally located and very convenient, but we found the room to be exceptionally small, smaller than anything we've ever stayed at even in Manhattan and Europe. While the bed was comfortable, the room was so small that there wasn't even room for a chair to be provided. Very tiny shower with no tub. I will say the shower water pressure was strong and the water was hot, which I find lacking in many other hotels. You almost needed to walk sideways when stepping out of the bed. The room we were given did not have much of a view. Checkin was efficient, and our room was ready early. Valet parking was fine, but a bit slow for pickup. Allow 20+ minutes for your car. The dining room for breakfast was understaffed, and while they were friendly, the two servers could not keep up with the patrons. It made for a very slow breakfast. One of the servers was quite inexperienced, and did not anticipate needs. Could we be the first to ask for syrup and butter with pancakes? By the time they were retrieved our order had gone cold. We could hear him trying to find these items, and nobody in the kitchen seemed to know where they could be! If you decide to stay here, look carefully at the room description. Most business try to ( even if the attempt is passive) appease their customer. Not this property. I get this is a historic city but C'MON MAN!!! I stayed here one night with my son. After he took a shower, we began to notice the brown water soiling the towel in floor. When we let the floors desk know, not even an apology was uttered or an attempt to correct the situation. Terribly disappointing. Although this place is close to freedom trail and restaurants, stay here at your own risk. A business is only good if they know how to fix a problem. Good location, close walk to the train station and food hall. Not a great experience upon arrival though. The valet was nowhere to be found, and they charge an arm and a leg for the service. After sitting in my car in front of the hotel for 10 minutes, I had to walk inside the hotel and ask the front desk staff for help. The staff was nice and apologetic at least. As for picking up your car from valet, give it 30 minutes because they take forever. The rooms are quite small and the shower can barely fit one person, and it's impossible to run the shower without splashing all over the bathroom floor. Don't plan on sleeping in cause you can really hear the cars and sirens outside, and we were pretty high up. I did like the infused water in the lobby. The basement gym was decent, with several machines. The restaurant was pretty good and service was fast. Theres a good oyster happy hour, but no drink happy hour. Category 6 for Hyatt is a stretch. I'd say it should be 4, 5 max. read more

I stayed at the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall for one night on a recent trip to Boston and I really enjoyed the hotel. Check in: I was able to check into my room early, however, my room wasn't ready the room available was an "upgrade" so I had to pay an addition $25 to get into the room early, which was worth it to get in early, but in terms of rooms, didn't seem much better than what I thought I reserved. The room: Now, the room itself was nice. It was two queen beds. The bedding was soft. The mattresses were comfortable. The room was clean as was the bathroom. The shower pressure was nice too, which is a big plus to me. The staff was warm and friendly too. Location: I really loved the location. It's in a prime spot to so many key highlights in the city and a short uber ride to many others. It's an ideal location. They have a coffee shop and a restaurant in house that I did not try but are a nice option to have. read more

I chose this hotel so we could be closet o Faneuil Hall and the metro (T). I love the proximity to both and it was great to be a short walk from everything. Once back in the hotel it was more of an average experience. Even though we reserved a larger room, the shower is tiny. I mean, it is the size of a decimal. There's a separate room where the toilet is which is incredibly small as well and I wondered if that was what prison was like. Also, the bathroom doors are pocket doors that do not close all the way, so be prepared to share those bathroom moments with someone if you're not alone. read more

Stayed Thursday and Friday. Check in was very smooth and uneventful. Very convenient location. Large lobby with plenty of seating and tables. Walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, bars. Had to be the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Even the elevators were small. Odd room design as the shower stall is directly behind the room door. Frosted glass enclosure and VERY small. Water pressure and temperature were excellent. Toilet is a "room" with a pocket door without any type of lock or latch. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Plenty of towels. Lighting was ample. Only 1 chair and a desk that could barely handle a lap top. Street noise from 4th was loud the first night with car/truck horns and emergency vehicle sirens but fairly quiet the second night. Room was very clean as was the entire hotel. For our needs the hotel was perfect. We were gone all day until about 10pm both days. There is a bar and restaurant which we did not use. On site parking. Would definitely stay again. One employee, Anaya at the front desk was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and polite with a great sense of humor. The rooms were clean, but a little on the smaller side - one of the King rooms was literally just big enough for a bed, while the other had a nice desk area as well. Similarly, one of the rooms had a proper bathroom with a door, while the other had a walled off toilet area but the shower and sink were basically in the room - which was an issue when the shower would leak through the door and soak the entire entryway to the hotel room. I had a great stay here in October 2020 (during Covid). We got a great deal with the hotels being empty and this was the perfect location for exploring Faneuil Hall and the North End. We took the train in from Logan and after exiting the station we were less than a five minute walk to the door of the hotel. We walked or took the train everywhere all weekend... didn't even bother with Ubers. Since we got a great deal, we paid a few bucks more for the slightly larger room upgrade and lucked out with a nice corner room. Considering it was a city hotel, It had plenty of space for four adults and our bags. Plus we had a great view of the old postal building and Faneuil Hall. The front desk was so nice and we became familiar with them as I feel like the hotel was pretty empty and we were coming and going often. They were willing to accomodate any request the best they could. Like when the bar next door was constantly closed (I don't think they were affiliated with the hotel) and with Covid we just wanted to have drinks in our room one night. I was trying to Macgyver an in room cooler because our drinks were warm and the fridge is tiny. The guy at the front found a plastic storage bin he loaned me that I lined with a plastic laundry bag and ice... perfect! We couldn't get any glassware which I thought was odd for a hotel but paper cups made due. With the location, friendliness of the staff, and great price I paid (obviously won't be as cheap once things are back to normal) I would absolutely stay here again. read more

Great location and a clean property. The rooms are on the small side if you are going to stay more and a couple of days. Probably the biggest issue is the outside noise. The windows doesn't seem to be noise block it making it almost uncomfortable with truck deliveries, construction, etc. This tends to go on during the night and early hours of the day. read more

Third time in Boston but first time staying at a Hyatt establishment! This location can be hard to find, as we drove past it the first time. They had valet parking for $57 a night with unlimited access to your car. There are other parking options in the proximity for much less where you can self-park. In terms of walking, this is a short walk away to the waterfront, Chinatown, Boston Public Garden, etc. There's also a bunch of delicious food options nearby if you want a quick coffee run like Tatte Bakery or the infamous Starbucks all within a 3 minute radius. The rooms for the most part felt clean but there are minor things such as paint coming off from the shower ceiling and a brown gunk that was seeping into the white floor towel when laying it down in the bathroom that was a bit questionable. In addition, there was a bowtie from a previous stay that wasn't cleaned up after. The front desk was extremely accommodating and was able to upgrade us and place our rooms from separate reservations close together. It's excellent customer service that keeps me returning to Hyatt! read more

The hotel staff was accommodating and pleasurable to work with. The on-site bar and amenities were also well thought out and stocked. Spent 5 nights here while exhibiting at the Seafood Show in the Convention Center. Prices are on par for the area and, like all things in Boston, a bit on the cramped side. The lobby, elevators, restaurant, etc. are small, but workable. The room and bathroom were pretty spacious, though. Staff was efficient but, as all hotels now, they don't service the rooms unless you put in a request. I'm really getting tired of this crap. Don't blame Covid. Blame the business owners that don't pay enough. Besides not cleaning the rooms, they don't refill the coffee station in the rooms. That means that guests have to ask for more kuerig pods at the front desk. OK, fine. Then why did they not have sufficient stock at the front desk? Now I have to wait for some guy to come to my room and I feel obligated to tell them for doing something the management should be taking responsibility for. I don't need fresh towels and sheets every day but coffee is kind of a daily issue, right? No courtesy pot in the lobby since their tiny coffee shop in the lobby is making money pour their pricey coffee. That coffee bar is actually quite nice they put out a tasty avocado toast (3 varieties) and some pastries. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed, good pillows, efficient free wifi and updated bathroom. On the last night, I had a good sized water leak coming from the room above that trashed the ceiling and got my floor wet. They offered me a new room but I declined as I was checking out at 6am the next morning and there was no smell. They were so close to five stars but nothing more than 3 for this stay. read more

I'm arguing back and forth in my mind whether to rate this hotel a four or a five. I'm going to rate it a five with some footnotes, primarily because it's got a great location, a comfortable lobby, and the water pressure in the shower is amazing. Location is nearby Faneuil Hall, Government Center, TD Garden, and it was so easy to walk or take the T everywhere we went. It was even an easy trip back and forth taking public transportation to and from the airport, as it's directly across from the State Street station. Areas to be aware of include (1) the size of the room is among the smallest I've experienced, even compared to Manhattan hotels. The closet provided less than a foot of space, there's no room to walk around beyond the path back and forth to the bathroom, and the bathroom itself is tiny. Because the room is not large enough for a door to swing open, our bathroom came with a sliding barn door which would have been nice if it had been installed correctly - Ours made a racket every time it was open and closed. The water temperature provides plenty of hot water, but does not hold at a fixed temperature, so prepare to adjust quickly and frequently. There is a restaurant on site, we did not utilize it in our 5-day stay, since the restaurant appears a bit dark, and the coffee shop counter in the morning provided subpar quality. Overall, we enjoyed our stay (about $300 per night including all of the ancillary fees and we didn't park a car there so we avoided these $60 per night valet fee), but I might look for another location to try on our next visit. read more

My husband and I visited Boston a few weeks ago and were first time guests at the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall. We snagged a great rate for a last minute weekend trip and prime location. Out of our many visits to Boston, this has easily soared to the top of our list of being one of our favorite places to stay in while in town. The Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall is a small Hyatt property in Downtown Boston located steps away from Fanuiel Hall. There are several T stops within walking distance and great places to eat and shop nearby. The location cannot be beat. Upon arrival, there is a quick loading and unloading place for guests to take care of their luggage. At the time of our visit, there were luggage carts available right inside the first set of doors for guests to use to help with checking in. The front desk was located through the second set of doors in which we were warmly welcomed and quickly provided all of the information to get to our room. For those driving and parking their own vehicles, their parking site is in a garage nearby and is self-park. The price for parking per night was $27 during our visit. The walk to and from the hotel and parking garage was less than 5 minutes each way and was very easy (and safe). The hotel and our room were immaculately clean. The room itself is small as other Yelpers have mentioned, but it was fine for the two of us on a short weekend trip. It was apparent that the room layout was intentionally thought out to maximize the space in a small room. It all worked out and had all of the basic lodging needs including a mini fridge and free wifi. The bed was divinely comfortable after long days and walks in the East Coast humidity. Again, the location of the hotel just cannot be beat. From the service to the clean space, we had a great stay at the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall. We would undoubtedly stay there again if we were able to find a price for the room that was right. read more

Another fantastic stay in the city. This hotel is in walking distance to some great experiences. Short walk to faneuil hall market place. The hotel was easy to get to and easy to unload bags. The staff was very welcoming and very friendly. Employees were informative about local businesses in the time of Covid19. I will say overall the staff upon check in were as good as it gets. The elevator was kinda small on our way up to the room. The size of the elevator didn't spoil my excitement for the room. The room was average size. It was extremely clean and smelled clean. The beds were freshly made with extra crisp sheets and pillow cases. The beds were comfortable fluffy cloud like pillows. The beds I thought gave me a better sleep than usual. Overall I will be staying here again. Especially if I get the fantastic rate again. read more

We found this location because it's so close to everything in the city. We were able to walk most of the time, or take an Uber when it was too cold or we were too tired. I was upgraded to the top floor because of my discoverist status with Hyatt hotels, and it provided a great view. My room was super tiny, but it was clean. Very clean, which is something very important to me. The elevator did have some quirks, it didn't always go all the way up to the top floor, but since I enjoy the walk it was a good excuse to get my steps in by running up and down the stairs. Valet parking is $49 a night, and I think renting a car for Boston is not worth it. read more

This is a great hotel! The location could not be better. Easy walking distance to most of Boston's must see sights. Our room was on the corner and had great views of the city and the Old State House. It was compact but cozy! The room was clean but I did find that the air ducts/returns could use a good cleaning - they were caked in dust. Beds were very comfortable. Awesome location! This location could not be beat for our needs. Steps from the T Blue Line stop at State Street, which runs to the airport. Helpful staff. They will hold bags on arrival and departure days. We were grateful that they allowed us to check-in early on a blustery, rainy day. Less than 10 minute walk to Fanueil Hall. Long Wharf, etc. 3 minute walk through parking garage across the street to Dunkin, Starbucks and Tatte Bakery. No complaints on space in room 203. Keurig setup, small refrigerated drawer and other thoughtful amenities. Nice, spacious common area on ground floor. Look forward to returning. read more

I stayed here on a recent trip to Boston (July 2023) and the location was the best part. Check in process was horrible. I reserved two rooms, had the confirmation for both, and went to check in. Two workers were there, one checked in myself for my room, the other was checking in my parents into their room that I booked for them, under their name. Check in process seemed smooth until my parents and I were booked into the same exact room. 4 people with two separate reservations and confirmations, were placed in one room with one king size bed! Thankfully we realized it prior to getting on the elevator and had it fixed and got new keys. At checkout it was my credit card charged for the taxes for both rooms even though my parents gave their credit card at check in. There was only one working elevator, and it was used by guests and staff. The elevator was small, and it was always a 15-20-minute wait for it. When it arrived, it was packed with hotel guests, or hotel staff with laundry carts. The rooms were small. The shower was immediately when you walked in and was about the size of an RV shower. The shower dripped all night. Placing a bathmat at the floor of the shower was disgusting as you would see brown/orange spots on the towel where your feet were just moments after stepping in and out of the shower. The hotel was clean, but it was a disappointing experience. I expected more from a Hyatt hotel but expected more from a hotel near many historical landmarks in Boston. read more

The building itself is beautiful, and the location is perfectly convenient; a 5-minute walk to the Boston harbour. The rooms are small but bright and modern. The fitness room is adequate. World of Hyatt Globalist members get complimentary breakfast at the onsite restaurant (Bar Mercato), and the inattentive service at the restaurant is in comically stark contrast to the service from the hotel staff. read more

The location is impossible to beat if you're a foodie. There's a Tatte Bakery for the world's best cheesecake just a block away. The North End is a 10 minute walk to the best Italian food in the US. Faneuil Hall is just a few minutes walk. The room itself is small and isn't the best for business travelers as there isn't room for a desk. I would have really appreciated having a desk, even a small one, to be able to get some work done during my stay. Instead, I ended up working on the bed and it just wasn't very conducive or comfortable. The hotel gym was pretty nice - a variety of equipment and very new. Stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and checkin was easy. Hotel seemed pretty quiet and clean. We didn't see a ton of people around. There were some nice technology features (motion triggered lights under the bed and clock in the bathroom mirror). Room and bathroom were small, but we didn't mind because we're small people. A family would potentially have some trouble with space. If you're trying to do the freedom trail or walk the city, this is a great location. Also close to various train stations. We came during a heat wave (nearly 100 degrees all 3 days) and we're happy that we could stop back at the hotel for a bathroom/air/water break without having to go too far. Rooms were very clean and had views of Faneiul Hall. Service was attentive. Very convenient location with easy access to all tourist attractions, Boston Commons, and the T stations. Easy access to some of Bostons most famous restaurants. There was a small desk and lots of tables in the lobby to potentially do work at. read more

This place is great! The staff was very friendly. We came to this Hyatt because our flight was canceled so we needed to stay the night in Boston. Upon early arrival, we were given a room with two double beds AND it was on a corner so the natural light was perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable, the shower had great water pressure and they provide you with very comfortable robes. I did not have a car so I can't speak on the valet.
