Quality of crabs ain't bad BUT the two times I have ordered Half Bushels from the Parkton location they have given us less than 3 dozen by about 4-5 crabs. Normally half bushel should be about 3-4 dozen l, and when your paying about $10/crab every one of them count. read more

Bad crabs, generic spice, and cook the dead. If you know crabs you should know that they should not be done like this. A better seafood business is right up the street. I have purchased crabs here and have been disappointed as well. All this talk about sizing based on market conditions is a bunch of bull. Sizing should be: Small Crabs 5-5 1/2 inches Medium Crabs 5 1/2-6 inches Large Crabs 6-6 1/2 inches Jumbo Crabs 6 1/2-7 inches Colossal or Heavyweights 7 plus inches - These crabs are a rarity and therefore are not always available Pricing could be based on market conditions but size isn't. Availability could be based on market conditions but size isn't. Why not be honest with the people and tell them they are 5 to 5-1/2 or 6-6-1/2 or whatever they are. Good crabs. I got the L/XL crabs and the were mostly good size and weight, although 2 or 3 medium did find their way in the bag. Nice crab spice and were the cheapest crabs out of the 6 that I called locally today. I have gotten crabs there a couple of times and would definitly go back. Prices available on website. HUGE RIP OFF! Bought large crabs two weekends in a row and found tiny barely legal crabs in bottom of bag. I complained and was told we'd be "hooked up". I have gotten crabs from this location many times. In the past I have been a fan. However, things have seemed different for the past year. The crabs are much smaller than what you would expect for the sizes they claim the crabs should be. The crabs are less than 5 inches and often only 4 inches. Apparently they get crabs from far away locations where it is legal to keep these very small crabs. (It would not be legal if the crabs were from Maryland.) I'm disappointed to see all the negative reviews of this place. I've been going here for the past 4 years- ever since I moved to New Freedom. They are conveniently located and service has always been good. I typically go for the $1 crabs- I know I'm getting smalls but they are heavy and I can't complain about the price. They also always seem to throw in a few extra crabs which is a nice surprise. I guess if I was paying $200 for the smalls I would be disappointed but since I go the cheap route, I have no complaints. read more

THIS IS A JOKE!!!! Terrible crabs!! Mushy, tiny 'larges'. Horrible and dishonest customer service. I was told I would get a refund when I called and complained about crabs. (I have pictures to prove the mushy inedible meat) I was told I would get money to compensate for small crabs. I was appalled since I ordered and paid for a half bushel of LARGE!! Sam was rude and when I asked to speak to the owner, I was told his name was "None of my business!" Ordered crabs for the Saturday before Fathers Day, Brian and his staff were prepared and had me in and out of there in only a few minutes. We ended up getting 5 Dozen(Live) and steaming them ourselves. The staff offered me paper, spices, mallets, all included. The staff even went through the bushel before I loaded them on my truck to make sure the count was correct and that there were no deceased members! Now on to the crabs- my wife's side of the family are all crab junkies. They can tell in a short second wether they are going to be Great or Just ok......I got many compliments on this batch. My husband and I have gotten crabs twice from this location. I feel that they are priced well, they give you complimentary mallets and paper too. We usually order mediums (they're packed with more meat and sometimes the larges are lighter). The amount of meat in the crabs is beyond their control though. Anyway, we've always need happy. Horrible, AVOID. Went to visit my family and ordered a bushel of crabs. Half of the crabs were so dark, they almost looked black. They were light, and half of them were mushy, as if they had been sitting there and re-steamed in the basket. Earlier, upon calling the business, my mother asked if the crabs were Maryland crabs - to which they said YES. Being from Baltimore, my family knows Maryland crabs. After being disappointed, we called back and they said they would refund us half the money if we brought back half a bushel. When we arrived to return the lousy crabs, we received nasty attitudes all around, with one of the men saying that nobody who answered the phone would've said they are Maryland crabs because they are from Louisiana - essentially calling my mother a liar. Then he turned his back to us, told the younger guys to 'Just get this over with,' at which point they COUNTED the remaining crabs and said it's not a half bushel - thus shorting us the money they said they would return on the phone just minutes earlier. This place is absolutely horrible and the people who run it are trash. AVOID. read more

The owner worked 10 yrs. @ Ocean Pride as their crab/restaurant manager, PLUS several yrs. wholesaling crabs/oysters/mussels/etc in the middle-Atlantic region.--He really knows his seafood !! .....Makes daily trips to the Choptank area for their daily supply of Maryland crabs.....Calling ahead and reserving your crabs guarantees their biggest & best crabs. Paid $90.00/dz. for their jumbos, which would have cost me $150.00/dz at Costas. Ordering crabs anywhere else in this part of Northern Balto. The crabs we ordered last week were good and most were full even though it is early in the season. Generally their size categories don't match up to other shops, but their prices also reflect that. For example, their larges are what I would see as mediums elsewhere. They are generally priced the same as mediums elsewhere so it is just a consideration when ordering. Seasoning is good and they were cooked perfectly. I will order from them again! read more

This past summer was the first I ever age crabs from She's Got Crabs (York, PA) I have to say I was very impressed. They were seasoned just right and the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend them. Got a bushel for our family picnic. Great crabs enjoyed by all! The crabs were very well steamed and seasoned. They give you brown paper to cover your table too! This makes for easy clean up. I have never been disappointed. The staff was friendly and pleasant. I've read some of the reviews and believe people don't understand the way crabs are labeled. They are not rated by how heavy or light but by size. Hope this helps how crabs are labeled. Crabs are measured point to point. Small are 5-5 1/2", Med are 5 1/2 - 6", Large 6-6 1/2", ex large 6 1/2-7" and jumbo 7" and up. I was raised on the shore and these rules are still in effect. read more

This is the first time getting crabs from here. I wish I had read the reviews first. My husband called asking if they had large crabs. The guy on the phone said yes saying they were "monsters." When we took them out of the bag we thought maybe they made a mistake. These so called monster size crabs were so small. Small and light. For this they charged us $85. My husband called them asking if they had given us the wrong order. They said no, that what we got was large crabs. The next day he stopped in to talk to them. They pretty much told him they couldn't do anything about it. My husband and I once owned a restaurant that served hard shell crabs. We were well known for our crabs and cream of crab soup. So when I say these crabs were definitely not even close to being large I know what I'm talking about. We definitely won't get crabs from them again. What a RIP OFF!!! Don't waste your money. These people are a rip off. I ordered two dozen of their "Monsters", which are supposed to be Extra Large/Jumbo size. Nearly all of the crabs were BARELY 6" point to point, with only two at 6.5". And light too. I gave them another shot a month later...same dang thing. And FYI, THESE ARE NOT MARYLAND CRABS. They're from Louisiana - the most polluted state in the nation. I'd go back and say something, but these people don't care. There's a reason they take cash only. Ordered a bushel of larges several weeks ago, was EXTREMELY disappointed !!! As other reviewers have stated, they were seasoned well & cooked properly, but ended up most were empty. A group of us had all pitched in for the best they had to offer for a bushel. But when my wife brought them home for our family gathering, took off the lid to the basket, we were all "stunned" at how small these "larges" were. WE GOT SCREWED !!! We had paid a premium $250 for decent crabs & got babies. There were about 5 of them that made 6". The bulk of the crab's were 5 1/4"-5 3/4", some even smaller than that, very light & watery. Order their crabs at your own risk; and LOOK at the size they sneak in before you leave !!! We will NOT go back; there are better places to purchase from. read more

I needed 2-3 bushels for a party and called She's Got Crabs on a reccomendation. They worked with my budget and gave me a great deal, plus mallets and table paper. A few weeks ago I purchased a bushel of what was supposed to be large crabs. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because I was pleased the first time I purchased crabs from there and not two times after.
