We stopped by for lunch to enjoy some Persian food. We were the only customers during the late weekend lunch hours. We were seated right away. Two glasses of water were dropped off. For some reason, many restaurants tend to forget the toddler as a customer. However, our server did drop off the correct number of plates and napkins. Maybe she was concerned my child would drop the glass? After looking over the menu, we ordered an eggplant dip and a filet mignon and ground beef kebabs entree. We were told the meat and salad were made from organic ingredients. The food was tasty and presented nicely. I enjoyed the eggplant dip with pita. The dip was a mix of eggplant and tomato with seasoning and paired nicely with pita. The ground beef kebab was tender, juicy, and flavourful. The filet mignon was medium rare as requested and also flavourful. The risotto was perfection and my child ate most of it. The restaurant was clean and tidy. I liked the different doors hanging on the walls of the restaurant. Service was good. No complaints there. The menu prices were on the higher side, but I could taste the quality of the food. I think this is more of a date night worthy splurge. I would return when I am craving some kebabs. read more

I haven't even tried the food yet and I'm already frustrated... Ordered through SkipTheDishes for my friends birthday.. well over $100 spent and they're out of freaking calamari on a Saturday night? Who runs out of calamari, probably their most popular appetizer, on probably the busiest night of the week (Saturday) very poor planning! also they ran out of the sticky toffee dessert... very frustrating way to resolve the issue they asked me to order again but out of caution I only ordered the replacement dish (garlic prawns) because I was worried I'd get billed another entire order...The food better be worth it or I won't be ordering again... also for a grill why are they not serving wine that's very bizarre! if the food turns out to be good then I will edit to three stars. Don't go here... cant believe I paid $50 per plate...these prawns cost $14.00 lol although the meat was somewhat flavorful this was no better than your average takeout and just a bit better than mall food. no dish on the menu should is worth more than 20 bucks. read more

Lovely family owns restaurant. We visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner. We were looking for steak at first. We were pleasantly surprised at how savory and flavorful the menu was. Spicy calamari and eggplant dip soo..delicious. With three of us for dinner we also ordered the Chefs special with and extra order of salad and rice. There was more than enough food with leftovers for lunch. Totally recommend this place for a cozy dinner in Langley City. Flavours were distinctive, meats, including the chicken, were moist, tender, cooked to perfection. No assembly line here, cooked to order and it shows. I've had a fair amount of Persian food, especially having lived in Ottawa for several years. It has been difficult finding a restaurant here in Metro Vancouver that provides incredible cuisine in a beautiful space. Shiraz Grill fills that void. My entire meal was top notch. The chicken and koobiyeh were seasoned perfectly. The rice was light, yet flavourful. We made a reservation and got seated right away, but as soon as we were seated all of the servers avoided eye contact and would not approach our table until one of us got up and got somebody after about 30 minutes of them ignoring us. The server who took our order seemed to be surprised by everything we ordered, which was alarming, and only about half of our drinks made it to the table. To be fair he seemed young and potentially inexperienced, but he also seemed like he didn't care about doing his job well, which was crazy because he was the only person we could flag down, making him somehow seem adequate in comparison to the other staff. We ordered starters and they took an hour. After we asked, they brought us some bread (which was stale) without butter or plates or anything. I'm not sure if any of the employees of this restaurant have ever been to an actual restaurant but the food was not worth the wait - or the money!! Sometimes you give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt with their prices based on the menu and the trust that they're going to hold up their end of the bargain. They didn't. To be fair, the caprese salad was fine but I could have made it myself. The staff rode a fine line of not really serving you, while at the same time constantly trying to clear your plates and glasses before they were done. At the end of the night they refused to split the bill, and said that we should have told them when we got there how we wanted the bill arranged. The lady who claims to be the owner/ manager is without a doubt the rudest person I have ever met. We had a discrepancy on our bill where the amount charged was almost double what the menu indicated. When we politely inquired about it, she didn't even look, she just yelled, "It doesn't matter what the menu says, you have to pay, and never come back." Persian cuisine in Langley! Driving down the one way section of Fraser 'Highway' recently and noticed this new restaurant in what used to be a kitchenware spot. 'Persian and Italian cuisine' said the sign. I had to try it and came back a few days later. Had the soltani kebab, which was one kebab of the ground beef/onions and one steak. Preferred the steak, in fact I may get 2 kebabs next time of the steak! Wonderful char and seasonings. The long grain basmati rice was topped with saffron and so fluffy and tasty. House salad was average but worth noting was the caesar salad came with capers and shaved parm. House wine was ok. Would like to see some local craft beers on the menu instead of the generic adjunct lagers. Dessert was a house made chocolate cake with a scoop of also house made saffron ice cream!!! Yum! Hand picked decor items n infact the owner informed us that they use organic stuff for everything from meat to vegetables ( reason for being expensive) They need to talk an extra step in customer service. Everything else is fine but they lack that welcoming smile n feel good factor about customers n for customers. I tried shrimp appetizer which was basically 5 shrimps with 5 crackers for $18 . Couple i went with tried grill plates of meat with rice which was a full meal with full price on it $35. So just as i said overpriced . They have collection of liquor n teas. Few options in deserts. Washrooms are spacious n clean n well prepared with toiletries. Wasn't too busy as everyone was celebrating canada 150th birthday. Probably one of the best kabab's I have tasted in recent memory. A classic Persian Barg, tender, juicy, and perfectly spiced. And this was accompanied with a koobideh made with sirloin and no fillers. Delicious. read more

If I was to have one place to choose to have every dinner at, it would be this one. Shiraz restaurant is a clean and friendly place. The food was spectacular. I ordered the Chenjeh kabob, which was so tender and juicy along side the oh so good tahtziki that Fred the owner made himself. I would definitely recommend this place if anyone is in the neighborhood and loves to try different types of bbq'd meat. Persian style of course. Ordered a dinner for two at $68. Included two beef/lamb kebabs, one chicken kebab, one steak kebab, and prawns. Included rice and salads and grilled tomatoes. The meal was very flavourful. The chicken was perfectly cooked, moist and extremely tender. The steak was my favourite though. Very tasty, marinated with unique flavours. The ground beef/lamb was also delicious, as were the prawns. We ended up having to take one full beef/lamb kebab home as it was too much to eat. The meal included a Persian style rice, which was yummy, but I enjoyed pairing the meats with the salad. Really nice ambiance for Langley! We know Fred from meditalia in Surrey and he made the best donairs and sauces. He told us he was going to open Shiraz grill and invited us over. We decided to make the long trip for lunch. I had the lamb chops and my brother had tenderloin strips. I have to say, this place puts all other Persian restaurants to shame. It was simply cooked to perfection. Everything was perfect from the sauce to the salad. We live in downtown and when we want to eat Persian, Greek or Italian we will take the trip to Langley and eat right. Everywhere else we tried here in downtown or north Vancouver for Persian food sucked. You owe it to yourself to at least try it once. You will not regret it. Shiraz is a brand new restaurant in Langley and we decided to try it tonight. I look for 3 important aspects when I go to restaurants: quality of food, ambience, and service. I have to say, this restaurant is beyond my expectations. The food was excellent. I especially loved their lamb chop, the meat was tender and perfectly grilled and generous with their quantity for a great price. Their tables and seats, dinner ware and overall decor is beautiful, comfortable and classy. I especially love their choices in music, it really ties the restaurant together. Service was quick and friendly. I found it very easy to talk to the waitresses and waiters. They're always smiling, being polite and on their toes. read more

This used to be one of our favourite restaurants but the food has gone down in flavour, taste, and presentation. We don't understand because for years, the food has been incredible! The service is usually bad at Shiraz but on the good nights just indifferent. I honestly think that the servers have no idea what good service is all about. One night we sat for 15 minutes without anyone asking us if we would like a drink or a menu while 3 servers checked out something on the computer at the bar. We have been 5 times to this restaurant and until last night have enjoyed the food immensely. Last night the food was mediocre at best and to be honest I felt cheated a bit in that my Chicken penne with Chorizo came with a very cheap cut of garlic sausage instead of the Chorizo. I was angry that they thought me so stupid that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. What a treat! I was in the Langley/Burnaby area at lunch time today, and Yelp offered up Shiraz at 5-stars with more than 3 reviews, so... As noted in other reviews, Shiraz serves Persian and Italian cuisine. I try my best to avoid wheat, so I opted for Chenjeh (steak) Kabob with a split side of rice and salad. This was marvelous! Well spiced and nicely cooked, the rice was a perfect offset to the grilled steak. The salad was excellent as well! As it was lunch time, I stuck with water (cucumber water in this case). I'm so glad I opted for Shiraz rather than one of the many pseudo-fast-foods or typical pub-grub! This place is not to be missed! read more

My wife and I went to this restaurant based on a recommendation of a friend. It is a taste of an expensive Vancouver restaurant in Langley. I highly recommend the food to anyone looking for something different from the usual section out in the burbs. What I found really interesting was the two menus (Persian/Italian) for the customers. The food is pretty good, but the selection is very limited and unlike what many others have said, it is not consistent. I have dined at this restaurant several times when I visit Langley, but the food does not always taste the same. The prices are very steep, especially since the service is below average. We drive there for 45 minuets from North Vancouver as I have heard of this place in Iranian community a lot. A lady ( seems owner not a waitress) refuses to seat us as we were with our 2 years old son. She said that they don't have any facility for kids and it's fine dining place. All the table are reserved after 5pm. We had gotten there 4pm. She added waiting time for the food is long(40minutes) and it's not fair to a kid to wait such a long time for a meal!!! read more

My husband and I have eaten here when they first opened, and we were very impressed with both the service and the food. Unfortunately, on our most recent visit we were disappointed that that both the food quality and the service seemed to have declined. We had made a reservation, but when we arrived the only table was an awkwardly-positioned corner table in the very back, next to the kitchen. It was extremely noisy and distracting all night. Once the hostess seated us, we were left to wait for almost 20 minutes - no one came by our table to take our drink order, much less give us water/menus. Extremely unclassy. We were just about to walk out when we were finally approached by a server, who once she took our order came out with the food quite quickly. It was decent, but underwhelming especially as we remembered it being much better previously. It's a small complaint, but we were pretty surprised that upgrading to a ceaser salad (as opposed to the spring salad they normally serve with each entree) was an extra $2.00 each, and it came without croutons. We left soon after eating as the ambiance was so uninviting where we were seated, and we're doubtful we'll return. Too bad, because downtown Langley desperately needs good restaurants. read more
