Courtney, Kristen, and Jackie reassured us, took our orders, and just went above and beyond. The service was just amazing and this is my first time at this restaurant. I got the iced Spanish latte with oat milk, and it was SO good. Spanish lattes are my go-to, and this one had the perfect hint of cinnamon without being overly sweet. Even as the ice melted, it still tasted great, which is rare. The Torrance location was just as good! Parking was easier, the space is bigger, and the service was still super friendly and fast. My husband got the cold brew "Nook way" and finished it in like 10 minutes. He said it tasted like Golden Grahams cereal. Highly recommend both locations and especially the Spanish latte. Anyways, I've gone many times over the years and always recommend Sidecar to everyone I come across (if donuts come up in conversation). I went yesterday as well and my gosh, the quality has not changed! Sidecar always amazes me and whoever I bring. They live up to the "hype." In my book, they make the best product, period. Their huckleberry donut and choc-o-lot are absolute classics. Their seasonal pumpkin cinnamon roll donut was great as well. Their staff is always friendly and attentive. 10/10 recommend.

I enjoy how they don't take themselves so seriously for a 3rd wave specialty spot. But what bothers me the most is that the service is so nonchalant that it comes off as rude. No greeting, smile, positive energy.. giving off a vibe that they'd rather be anywhere else than behind the coffee bar. Sad to see the experience decline as it's been a favorite of mine and somewhere i always have hyped up to friends. Hopefully things pick up.

After Yelping and finding this place.. I can say it's one of the best hidden little places in Costa Mesa that you can ever have a bagel. You can actually watch them make their bagels fresh, and for being a small place they actually have a huge variety of types and spreads you can choose from. I got the "Everything Bagel" with lox, and actually really recommend it if you go (I almost drooled just thinking about it). Definitely a great place to go have a quick snack or breakfast with QUALITY goods. The owners and staff by the way, are some of the nicest people I've ever met. The bagels here are amazing, and you've got to try the open face ones! My favorite is the CTA, and don't forget to grab a side of lemon pepper, it makes it even better. They've got so many different bagel and cream cheese flavors, which makes it easy to try something new each time I go. I've been going to this place for a couple years now and they are seriously the best bagels in town. Love their breakfast bagels. My fav's are the Californian with bacon, the egg white bagel and the pizza bagel. I kinda gotta laugh at how posh it's gotten though with a flat screen streaming news from the New York Times, gotta keep the Newport crew distracted while they wait for their bagel. I have always place my order by phone because I KNOW it gets busy. I highly recommend doing this if you do not want to wait in line especially if you are in a hurry. I usually order the California bagel with a few alterations which they never mind doing for me. Everything is always fresh and delicious! The bagels here are very good. Brueggers and Bagelmania also make great bagels. The breakfast selection is better than the others. I love salsa on my breakfast bagel and there's is very good. Pizza bagel and jalapeño cheddar bagel are a must. They have the best cinnamon sugar bagel. Yum! read more

I can't see how they could be any slower or more incompetent. If you want a bagel plan on 45 minutes to an hour if they are busy it will for sure be longer just to get a toasted bagel. 1 star for so so bagels. read more

Unfortunately, after my last two experiences, I will not be returning. On my previous visit, we ordered bagels with cream cheese and received barely any cream cheese. When I politely asked for more and offered to pay for it, the interaction was uncomfortable, but I decided to give the shop another chance. Today, my son specifically asked to come back for a donut and bagel. We were the only customers eating inside. Shortly after receiving our food, an employee began mopping the very small dining area with a strong Pine Sol solution. The door were open, there was no air conditioning, and the chemical smell became so overwhelming that I told him I was having difficulty breathing and asked about it. Rather than simply waiting until we finished eating, he argued that other customers like the smell and that no one else complains. Eventually he said he would stop while I was there, but by that point the entire interaction had become unnecessarily uncomfortable. Other employees were also speaking loudly from the back, and the overall atmosphere made my son and me feel extremely unwelcome. I don't expect perfection, and I'm usually very understanding about service issues. But customers should be able to sit down and finish their food without strong cleaning chemicals being mopped around their table, and a reasonable concern should be met with courtesy rather than an argument. After supporting this neighborhood business for four years, including larger purchases for my workplace, it's disappointing to say I won't be returning or recommending it. There are simply too many other places where customers are made to feel welcome. Please note: this is a VERY polite version of what happened. This was an awful experience. I will never recommend this business and definitely will not return.

It's great when a store knows how to perform and operate with passion! The bagels are made fresh, and there's a side where you can see them being made by hand! I ordered The Dodger, a salmon topped bagel with pickled onions, dill, and capers, and it was yummy, healthy, and clean. Wait time was pretty fast after ordering. There was a bit of a line on a Friday around brunch time, but my to-go order took less than 10 minutes to be ready. There is some indoor and outdoor patio seating too.

When I visited around 1pm on a Sunday, they only had 3 options left: Plain, Everything, and Sesame bagels. I went with The Old Smokey on an Everything bagel, and it was phenomenal! The bagel itself was perfectly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. It was also loaded with toppings that tasted fresh and were a great flavor combination. They had a counter with seating for eating inside, and a large patio for outdoor dining. I really enjoyed the space and all my interactions with employees. They are also part of a shopping center, so there is a large parking lot. Prices were a little high, but worth it in my opinion! I'll be back to try an open face next time.

I'd written you off years ago after having some horrible donuts but you must have refined your deliciousness and YOU ARE BACK! My kids picked me one up on my birthday and it was wonderful. The Fritter had crunchy edges, yet still had little apple chuncks throughout. The center was fluffy and apple-riffic. So I stopped in to get an iced coffee, a strawberry smoothie, and a variety of donuts. I'm a little bummed that the donut holes didn't taste as fresh as I would like. But it still was an average spot. I did enjoy that they do have chairs and tables outside. The coffee could be skipped but th strawberry smoothie was delicious! So that stole the show and made it pretty good.
