This time, we called ahead and placed an order for three sandwiches: the Lake Street, the Bear, and the Leelanau. It took about an hour and a half before we could pick them up, but they were definitely worth the wait! The sandwiches came wrapped in paper and tucked into a paper bag, which we thought was kind of fun and added to the experience. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious! We loved the variety of breads, which were so fresh, and the cheese was absolutely excellent. Everything tasted high-quality and fresh. Our only complaint was that the Bear could have used a little more salami. Other than that, we loved everything and are so glad we finally got to try this place. We'll definitely be back!

If you like home cooked meals, or diner style food, this is it. My husband and I ordered the fried chicken and the fried cod dinners. Several sides to choose from; he had cottage cheese and fries, I had a salad and fries. The salad was crisp and fresh. Our fries were perfect, skin-on, medium thick, and golden brown. Not greasy at all. The chicken and fish were fried perfectly as well. Of course the homemade bread is delicious. The neighboring table had ordered sandwiches. The cashier spoke very quietly, and because of my hearing disability, I genuinely could not hear or understand everything being said. Instead of showing patience or basic human decency, the owner immediately became rude and hostile, accusing me of "ignoring" the cashier when I was simply struggling to hear. The situation escalated for absolutely no reason. The owner aggressively reached toward my drink as if she was going to snatch it out of my hand, refused to let me calmly finish my beverage, and threatened to throw me out simply because I decided I no longer wanted to order food after being treated poorly. I remained calm and respectful the entire time, and I did nothing to deserve that kind of treatment. As a veteran and a paying customer, I expected basic respect and understanding regarding my disability. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, singled out, and unwelcome. I would strongly caution others, especially Black Americans and individuals with disabilities, before supporting this establishment.
