We have been going to Andy now for the better part of 2+ decades (my wife's father has been coming to him long before I started to). Andy is as good as they come. The shop itself isn't glitz and glamour, but I am fine with that. When it comes to working on my car, I'm not about the marketing glitz (and you shouldn't be either). Andy also has a long time employee that has worked with him ever since I started going to Ace - that in itself should tell you something! Andy is as honest and fair as they come. He will tell everything to you straight, give you a holistic assessment, and then leave the decision up to you. There are never any surprises, and all costs are 100% upfront. Andy even performs smog checks and the pricing is great on those as well (without the need to find / print coupons or wait for specials). Ace Auto is a small shop and he works on a lot of cars, so I recommend making an appointment before you see Andy. If you don't, just be willing to bring your car back to be worked on. Also, I've seen Andy work on all types of cars, including Japanese, Korean, American, German, etc. Many years ago, when we owned a Mini Cooper, Andy is so honest, he told us to take the car somewhere else has he didn't have all the special equipment (which he does now). Yes, Ace Auto is the Best, in my Opinion Auto Mechanic Shop in Santa Clara County by Far !!! I've been going to Andy for Years and will continue to do So even though now I Live by Downtown San Jose. There's plenty of Places Closer but I would Drive Twice as Far and still go to Ace Auto. Andy, (the Owner) has gone way above what other Automotive Shops Would Do for You. He's helped Me Out on so many Occasions. He even let My Daughter, yes My Daughter goes to him now for Her Auto Repairs, did the Work but come back 2 Week later to Pay the Balance on Her Repair Job which by the way was extremely affordable for what She had done that Day. car repair shouldn't be so complicated. do you have to argue with the mechanic everytime when the bill arrives? are your final prices anywhere _near_ the estimates? well, a couple of years ago, i found much needed relief from all the yelling and screaming between dissatisfied customers and scheming businessmen at places like stevens creek auto imports (i don't know if that place has maybe improved, but it used to be really sleazy). my friend mark introduced me to andy kwon, owner of ace auto. actually, i didn't know his name at first but later picked up his business card. he's a really down-to-earth guy. up until earlier this year or so, it was just him and one employee in that shop, just casually fixing cars and accepting very reasonable payment for their services. i think ace auto has expanded a little, as i noticed a couple of certificates on the wall that appear to belong to new staff. anyway, the service is still prompt, well-explained, reasonably priced, and above all _honset_. andy will explain to you all the costs involved in fixing your car - parts, labour, environmental charges. they don't have any hidden costs. it just feels like you've brought your car over to a friend's house, are getting advice, and well, you want to pay your friend back for his help. it's great; nice and comfortable. oh yeah, you'll find them in suite/bay "h." i noticed that that's missing from their address. read more

Andy is my hero. He is hands down the best auto mechanic I have ever had the pleasure of servicing my car. Not only does he do great work, he is very reasonably priced, fits you in the schedule quickly, and takes your appointment seriously. I usually scheduled Saturday morning appointments with him since it is difficult for me to get there during the work week. When I would pull in at 10am or so, he would have the garage space vacant and standing there ready for me to pull in. Once I had an electrical problem and even though he was very busy (as he always is), he took me right away and fixed the problem. I have so much respect for him, and he has treated me with nothing but the same. I was so lucky to find him during my years in the bay area. Miss you, Andy! read more

andy kwon who's the owner and main mechnic is the best! he gives you an honest estimate and fair service fees. he tries his best to use used parts so that he can save you $. andy's also really nice, too. in the past, he's thrown in free oil change, because he felt bad that the work my car needed was bigger than the ones in the past. i feel like i can always trust him. don't we all need a trustworthy mechanic? read more

Andy is the best! I was looking for a new Mechanic because mine was just too far and always too busy. Well i asked around and his shop and name came up. I checked out the reviews and he seemed legit. Well i not only came in with a unique and mystery problem with my gear selector but he opened it up cleaned and fixed it charging me only $40, (no replacement parts where needed) and it was done within 3 hours. He even did some preventative stuff so i will be good in the future. At my previous shop they took 3 days and charged me over $100 for the work and didn't do anything preventative.
