I ended up ordering a 8 piece wing order and used my SGV Passport to get a free 4-piece addition to my order. Here is the breakdown of what we tried: Water Buffalo: Incredible. The buffalo sauce has a unique twist with lemongrass and what tasted like Thai bird's eye chili. The owner says he makes his own chili sauce to make the buffalo sauce and I believe it 100%. It was incredibly tasty with a perfect kick. 5/5 Cambodian Dirt: Think of this as their elevated version of Lemon Pepper, where the lemon flavor comes from lemongrass instead. It has a great sour punch, but it is perfectly balanced and completely delicious. 5/5 Spicy Cambodian Dirt: Took the excellent flavor profile of the regular Dirt wings and kicked the heat up a notch. 5/5 Between the phenomenal, unique flavors and the top-notch customer service from the owner, Shlap Muan has absolutely earned a spot on my regular rotation. Hard to find the signage says WINGS and it's not by other shops. Seems it's still kinda new.....we tried two different 4 piece wings that were not spicy. We also tried garlic noodles....it was just ok. Maybe lacked some garlic. They don't have sauces or hot sauce. They don't have ice. Bought a coke in a glass bottle. Brought my 3 boys to grub on some wings, noodles, and fries last week. Dirty Elvis was my fave, and my boys were big fans of the Cambodian dirt and Pekang.. Had a less than stellar experience that i hope was a one off.. Most disappointing part is it's 97degs outside, and I was sweating while eating.. 79 degs on the thermostat. No ice available. Restroom had no towels or soap.. and of course, the Asian curly haired gentleman forgot to give us our noodles.. I asked the Caucasian gentleman about our noodles, and he apologized for our noodles not being served. Fries were average at best so don't order em.. I will be back to try some of the spicy wings but will take em to go until it cools down. read more

This was my first ever visit to Shlap Muan! The hype was SO worth it! I had the best guest experience! Sophia (I hope that I spelled that correctly) was absolutely fantastic! I immediately felt like family. I wasn't aware the where I live that I was given a 10% discount so, without knowing I paid and after paying, I was given a free soda! I even got a free extra sauce AND I was given a few extra wings! The lemon pepper was incredible and ACTUALLY had a big lemon flavor which was so fantastic! I also got the orange habanero wings. Super saucy and a nice sticky glaze and it did pack a bit of a punch. I did also add on a side of the garlic noodles. Lovely flavor of sesame, soy and garlic. It wasn't their fault but I just don't like cilantro and there was a bunch. Again, that's my fault for not reading the menu (lol). But overall still great! I called my order in, and I love that they ask for your pickup time just to make sure the food is fresh and piping hot when you get there. Ordered the dirty elvis, their wok tossed wings, and the Cambodian dirt. The flavor is there but the quality control isn't. From what I understand, the original location is in Long Beach. Maybe I went on an off day but the consistency on their wok tossed wings is too thick and probably was over reduced. On the other hand, the Cambodian dirt, their version of the lemon pepper, didn't have enough dry seasoning rub and for half the wings felt like I was just eating naked wings. Got some garlic noodles and spicy Cambodian dirt wings...enough to shlap yo muan. Don't pass on the noodles just because it's garlic. Yes, you can eat it and still be allowed to remain at work. No one's gonna say "Ew! What's that smell?!" In fact, they'll come by and say "That smells so good, I'm hungry..." The garlic flavor is there with other spices but not overpowering...you'll taste garlic, soy sauce, onion, etc. Wings are crispy and tender as you would expect...not arrested and imprisoned by a thick winter coat of batter. The flavor is a breath of fresh air from nearby chain stores where the same comeback sauce is used under different names. Expect to taste the chicken rather than drenched in orange-pink mayo. And none of that greasy feeling afterwards. Clean, fried, tasty. Didn't take long for the order to be done. Quick and courteous. There's a bunch of other flavors to choose from so be adventurous.
