Very delicious, service was really quick, and it has that authentic charm that most Chinese/Vietnamese noodle houses are known for. We got two soups, both of which we thought were really great in terms of portion size and price. Adding to that, nothing like a nice set of steamed veggies and oyster sauce to really capture that freshy goodness. My siblings & I grew up on their house specialty: half egg/half rice noodle dish with the crispy fried shrimp & garlic juice with the yau cha gwai. Mmmm mmmm so good. Although I live in NorCal now but every time I return to the SGV I come here to get my fix & to say hi to Peter & the team. Their beef brisket stew is also excellent. It goes really well with the yau cha gwai too. My buddy always get the chicken/fish noodle in soup and the Turnip cake. The Satay Beef Noodle is also an excellent choice. Love this noodle spot. I have been coming here every so often with my family and we have always walked away very satisfied. The servers are all very friendly and also quick to take your order and bring you your food. This is a family run business and you can see how hard everyone in the family works. My usual order is the half egg noodle and half wide rice noodle with seafood and soup on the side. I love their crispy fried shrimp so I also get an extra one of those in my bowl. There were only older Asian folks eating here so yet another good omen. I'm usually not a fan of hu tieu, but my husband loves that style of soup so we humored him and tried Mien Nghia Noodles. Service is quick - don't expect your hand held at any legit Asian restaurant. Know what you want from the menu before calling over an auntie to take your order. I got the shrimp hu tieu with regular rice noodles and my husband got the combo with egg noodles. DO NOT SKIP THE CHINESE DONUT. The broth was beautiful - clear and insanely flavorful with magical oily soup bubbles so you know it was done right. Whoever is saying this soup is bland can F off. This is not a BBH restaurant. The soup was perfection. The donut... my god. Crisp on the outside, NOT OILY, chewy and soft on the inside - what more could you ask for? I was hoping to have some yummy Hu-Tieu, and this place has great reviews. I ordered #1 and sadly was disappointed. It was really flavorless. I thought maybe I was getting sick and couldn't taste anything, until I saw another lady asking for more sauce, and she told the head waitress that her food was bland. The soup that came with the noodles had more flavor and umami than the noodles. Service was really lacking, which is not surprising in this area. I had to flag down the bus boy for water, since no one was checking in on me. The bus boy demonstrated better customer service than the waitress. **tea (hot or cold) is 0.75 cents!** they'll asked if you want iced tea, hot tea or water. Sorry to say, this place is not good at all. They absolutely use the lowest quality protein for their Hu Tieu. From beginning to end, the experience was of full regret. The only thing decent was the egg noodle which was seasoned with a garlicky oily mix but no garlic pieces. The fish cake was hard and probably had no fish in it and same goes with the fish ball. It was a like biting on a flour mix and boiled. The kidney was atrocious, smelly (red flag) and overcooked. It was nothing like the other place (you know which one, KK). On top of it all the lady said Chinese donut? The long fried bread, and we said why not. It was reheated in the toaster to almost burnt and was not fresh. You can see them laying on a tray. The condiments also had no taste, the spicy satay and the sliced chili also flavorless. AC No go. Parking comfortable and spacious inside. 1/3 full on Saturday lunch time. Wanted to do an update, still love the food here. They mentioned that they just started to accept credit cards! Quite nice addition, you would just need to let them know how much tip (if you dining in). The food and most importantly peppers and chili oil, was just as good as before. I usually get the "Mi Wong" which is a combo of the rice and egg noodle, that has bbq pork, shrimp inside. I asked for the dry version but ended up getting the soup version. I still liked it but would have preferred the dry noodle due to the heat. Also enjoyed the ice tea they give, and the Hainan Chicken. On the first page of the menu you'll see all the options for the noodles you can get - opt for egg noodles! The portion is big and it's delicious! The broth is clean, and really hits the spot. Don't forget to add A order of the pork kidneys. Served with a delicious soy sauce with scallions, ginger, jalapeños, and cilantro, it's so flavorful and not overcooked. Their Chinese donut is a bit on the greasy side but crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside that is slightly savory. Don't forget to use their house made hot sauce. Love this place because it's the only chiu chow noodle spot that has the clear glass noodle. I think. At least the other ones I've been they didn't have them. You can ask for garlic vinegar for your soup. I usually do this for all chiu chow places because I love garlic. Whichever soup you choose, you can pick from various noodles. Literally my FAVVVV Cantonese/chinese noodles ever !!! I've been coming here since I was little & i always feel so so so nostalgic whenever I eat here because it reminds me of my grandma. I feel like I've seen this place grow & when I was younger the old owners knew me and my family :') they used to have a valley location but now it's this one in Rosemead. This spot is somewhat like a hole-in-the-wall because not a lot of tourists come here and that's how you know it's legit. Normally filled with locals, this restaurant keeps customers coming back because their food is just THAT good. I always order the chicken and fish noodle soup with medium thick egg noodles. There's normally a bowl of extra bean sprouts and leeks on the side to give the dish more flavor and crunch. DON'T forget to ask for extra fried onions too because that stuff is what makes the dish REAL good. An optional add-in would be their vinegar with garlic mixture. Ask for this and it comes in a small plastic to-go container. Try your soup before adding this. I'd recommend trying some in your spoon with the soup before just tossing it all in your bowl. Most people get the Chinese fried donut sticks on the side to eat with their soup. It's really good here too but I'm normally too stuffed with just this bowl of noodle soup, so I only order that on days when I really want to indulge. Lastly but most importantly, this place is cash only. They have started taking venmo too, but credit cards are not accepted.
