The excuse we got is that they would not serve a small bowl of Miso soup since they have to charge the left over food. Thanks for worrying about extra charges we have to pay for the left over soup. The AYCE we had was their top line $42.99 for each and for 3 people with one bottle soju, coke & hot tea totaled $161. And 87 years old my mom is one of the three. I wonder how much worth she ate. I suggest you do not say AYCE if you do not let people eat as much as they want. I will never go back to that place and people who want the real AYCE should avoid this place. I don't typically eat a lot during lunch but if we had gone during dinner time then I would've gotten a better deal for an AYCE place. The quality of the nigiri was surprisingly good. I don't trust a lot of AYCE sushi places because the quality usually isn't all that great but this spot took me by surprise. The fish on the nigiri was semi-thick and very flavorful. Had called in to place a pickup order. It was a relatively small order as I was in the area looking to head home right after. Was told it would take 25 minutes - a bit shocking, but decided to wait due to all of the good reviews. Arrived on time for pickup at the 30 minute mark (gave a 5 minute buffer). Was asked to wait another 5-10 minutes. Ended up waiting another 30 minutes (full hour now). Poor expectation management, -1 star. Tried the food at home 15 minutes later. Thought it was "ok" in comparison to many of the other sushi restaurants in the area. Not matching local industry quality, -1 star. Would I return here? Everything else was great, staff seemed super nice and easy to work with. If I was in the area and wanted a quick bite to eat, I know this is not a pragmatic option even in that scenario. Unfortunately probably not is the truthful answer because it would make me late to where I need to go. Came here last night in hopes to do their all you can eat sushi option for 40 bucks. When we showed up we was told the wait time would be 15-30 minutes wait for a party of 6. Was totally fine for the waiting time, however we really did not get sat until 45 minutes. When we got sat, servers took about 15 minutes to finally take our orders and our orders were starting to come. When it was coming, about half our order showed up, while the other half was missing and never showed up (no big deal since that's kind of normal for most restaurant). When we decided to reorder for our second round, we order other new rolls and also reorder Eder the missing roll. However. I would not expect that about MOST of that second order to not showed up. When we finished what was brought to us, we was patiently waiting for the REST of the order in hopes that it'll come but it never did. The server then came by our table ask us if there's anything we need; I then ask if we have other rolls and order will be coming, and he went and checked and said there's nothing coming. We then decided to proceed to not reorder anymore rolls because keep in mind from the time they took our FIRST order till that moment, it has been 2 hours. We then decided to pay and we saw on the receipts of our recent order we made that never showed up so where did that rolls and order went? Overall, sushi and apps are good but this is the WORST AYCE sushi spot in Denver. I had never left an AYCE sushi feeling VERY hungry still and literally have to go to an In n Out just to fill myself up afterwards. My husband and I come here about once a week and let me tell you, I'm very hard to please when it comes to sushi restaurant's so I'm so happy I found this restaurant! I'm surprised to see it only has 3.9 stars because I've brought almost everyone in my family and some friends at this point, and everyone has absolutely loved it and in turn brought their own friends back afterward. The fish is high quality, the service is great, the atmosphere inside is cool, love this place! This place is a little bit different in regards to most sushi restaurants I've been to. Don't get me wrong, they're very good but just a little bit different. I've usually had to ask for wasabi and ginger with my sushi which isn't a huge deal. There's sushi roll ordering system is a little bit different as well, not bad whatsoever just a little complicated for a casual sushi dinner. This place is AMAZING! My partner and I have now become weekly regulars and cannot get enough of this place! We absolutely adore Anne and Lay they are always so sweet and attentive. Dylan is also an amazing server. The food is outstanding always fresh with great quality. We do the AYCE every Friday and the selection you get is perfect for us, we love seaweed salad and nigiri as well as the amazing selection of rolls offered. The atmosphere is perfect to they have this really cute instagram type decor tons of cute plants and a beautiful chalk mural in the back (where we prefer sitting). We absolutely love this place and can safely say everything we've tried on the menu so far we have LOVED! We have both recommended this place to our friends, family, and colleagues! Was expecting for this place to open for sometime since I saw the sign. Had lunch there, server was very attentive, and was able to get to me right away (though this is due to me being the only one who was dining in the place). Ordered the $14 lunch, substituted the 7 piece nigiri with one of the kitchen menu items (assorted tempura), two starters (house salad, and miso soup) and a choice of 4 rolls of any choosing from the lunch menu. Let me tell you I was not disappointed, the tempura was amazing, consisting 2 shrimp, cucumber, broccoli, and I believe a carrot with a sauce, and they were fried perfectly and had that incredible crunch to them. The sushi's that I got were very delicious and well made. All of this was definitely worth $14, and I'm definitely bringing friends and family here next time. The appeal here is they offer AYCE, the sushi is decent but not amazing, and their menus have different AYCE options to choose from based on your capacity to eat. Also pretty family friendly. However their service was okay, it was great that little kids can eat for free (not sure of the age but we dined with a 4yo in our group) but they were very strict on making us finish even her food. She only had one small avocado roll left that she couldn't finish since she's a child, but the server refused to give us our check until we finished it otherwise she was going to charge us a fee for not finishing food. I've been to soooo many AYCE spots and never been held accountable for a small amount of food, let alone just an avocado roll. Our favorite local sushi place. We've tried several Sushi places in the area and by far Sho stood out from the rest. They serve fresh sushi not over stuffed with rice. Sushi flavors are not masked by various random sauces like at some other similar places. Prices are reasonable, and they are spacing the tables appropriately so it doesn't feel super packed in. The staff are super responsive and nice. We always order nigiri and a few rolls for the kids and everything is always delish. At lunch I think they have some bento boxes and special menu that is really good value. Like most sushi places, on a scale if 1-10, 90% fall in the 4.5-5.5 range. That's not a bad thing, but it's hard to escape the "average" ranking (my favorite sushi place in the U.S., Kiss, out in San Francisco, closed a few years back). Service was very good, though I was one of only two tables in the early part of lunch hour. Sushi is always going to be among the most expensive meals, ounce-for-ounce, and the $24.95 lunch price is all-you-can-eat, but not being Joey Chestnut at the Coney Island hot dog contest, AYCE rarely suits me. So, with water as a beverage, it was $32 tax and tip for one person. The sushi was good enough, but nothing I haven't had in most of the places I've been to. She encouraged me to get food to go but I wanted to eat there which she seemed a bit annoyed with. She then told me a guy was about to finished and I could have his table when he was done (even though there were lots of other tables open). So I waited another 5-10 minutes for the table which I was fine with. After she cleaned the table she told me if I ordered anything off the menu that wasn't the all you can eat sushi it would take close to an hour if not more to get my food. We love this new sushi spot! They have a chef special for $21 which gets you so much food, an appetizer, sashimi, kitchen entree, 5 pieces of nigiri, and two sushi rolls.
