Additionally, their seasoning has so much flavor and the chicken could be eaten on its own. I love their mac salad which pairs perfectly with the chicken and has its own seasoning on top that makes it a bit different from normal mac salad. Their portions are pretty generous for the price and you will definitely fill up! I'm also impressed by the amount of chicken that comes with the dish as they definitely don't skip on the meat. They have a few tables for dine in both indoors and outdoors so it's a great place to hang out with friends as well. I got to try this place for the first time when the group of 6 I came with decided to order one of the family meals. The family meals states that it serves 4-6 people. We got so much other food from other places so this was more than enough. We all shared their Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken family meal. It came with 8 musubis, rice, macaroni salad, and their chicken. OMG! I didn't know I needed this in my life and so happy we got it. The Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken was delicious! It was super tender, flavoring was amazing, and battered and fried perfectly. The sauce it was in was so yummy. We got both types musubis: honey coconut shrimp and spam brulee. Four of each. They were huge and both were good. The macaroni salad was different because it contained tuna in it. Some of the people I came with didn't care for it but I thought it was interesting and definitely went well. Shootz has 3 locations in the LA area. Long Beach, Stanton, and Ontario. Today I went to the Long Beach location for the Facebook promotion. With the promotion you get the Jalapeno Garlic Shrimp Plate for free if you spend $25. The go to plate is the Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken. It's basically some katsu chicken smothered in a kimchi butter sauce. It's delicious. I got the combo which includes your choice of musubi, spam or honey coconut shrimp and a drink. Fountain drink included but upcharge for the lemonades. Upcharge is $2.50, pricey. My recommendation is do not get the combo. We got both kinds of musubi and neither was anything special. We got a strawberry pinapple lemonade and it does taste good, but with an upcharge of $2.50, I'll pass next time. We also paid extra for spam fried rice and that is really good but again a hefty upcharge, $3.99. Also, most fountain drinks were stock out. Next up is the Loco Moco. Good but nothing special. The egg was nicely cooked though. The over easy egg looked beautiful. The promo dish of Jalapeno Garlic Shrimp was super tasty. I would definitely consider ordering this next time. Overall, I enjoyed the food and will be back. They have lots of promos so it's great to bring first timers and regulars back. The wait wasn't too bad compared to the lines I've seen people post. I got the butter kimchi chicken katsu sandwich and BOTH of their musubi. The wait can vary between 10-25 minutes, depends on how busy they are but at least you know your food is fresh. It's more of a butter and furikake katsu which I'm not mad at. Just expected to taste kimchi or have kimchi in the katsu. Portion size is a bit small for the price, but about what I'd except from a place like this. Comes with rice and macaroni salad. FYI on the mac salad: it's heavy on the tuna which can be a good or bad thing. For me, I'm not a fan of tuna but my partner liked it. Jalapeño Garlic Shrimp Plate: I don't think I'll be getting this next time mainly because it is shell on. The employee did inform me when I was ordering so I knew what I was getting and just wanted to try. It is well flavored but I just can't get into eating shrimp shells. Typical spam musubis are just spam with teriyaki sauce smothered on top and wrapped with seaweed. Not these babies! These are the fancy kind! In addition to the typical ingredient, they also topped it with some kind of mayo and maybe some unagi sauce (tasted like, but not sure), garnished it with scallions to complete the fancy dressed-up look.
